We had one of the most enjoyable dinners that I can remember. We brought friends from Ft. Wayne. The veal & tile fish was prepared to perfection. Our server Sunny was delightful. She is truly an asset. We will certainly recommend to our friends.

What a wonderful surprise. We had lunch in this secluded restaurant and resort in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Beautiful views. Unique food with terrific flavors. Outstanding service. The attached hotel looks like a real treasure as well. The areas reminds me of the Napa Valley. We will be back.

An absolutely wonderful evening from start to finish! The setting is gorgeous with a great view of the mountains, the service is personal, attentive and knowledgable and the mixologist is the best! Plus the outstanding food makes this such a exceptional dining experience. The menu changes daily due the use of local, fresh food. And the chefs make creative use of each and every ingredient. If you want a unique dining experience that greatly surpasses what you'll find in downtown restaurants, visit Restaurant 17!

Absolutely one of the best restaurants that I have been to. The chef is so talented. Every dish is incredible. Menu is a bit confusing but just trust the chef and base your decisions on the main ingredient. I can't wait to go back

Restaurant 17 has, in my opinion, grown into the best, most creative restaurant in the Greenville area. Saturday night during Restaurant Week, they were packed to the gills. They made a great decision by featuring regular portions of items off their current menu...focusing on those items and getting them perfect. The highlight of our meal was the trout spread. Local trout smoked in-house...it was spectacular. The duck sausage had a great kielbasa-like flavor. My last visit, I commented on the lackluster desserts. This visit, we had the lemon cake and cheese plate for dessert. The lemon cake was perfectly balanced. The sweetness of the cake and merengue were offset by fresh grapefruit slices...a perfect touch of tartness. The cheese plate was vastly simplified, allowing the quality ingredients to shine through. Bravo. Because I always try to provide constructive criticism, the wine by the bottle menu would benefit from a few bottles in the $30-35 range. I just saw they have a 3 for $30 Italian night every Tuesday. I would definitely suggest they find a reasonably priced Italian red to add to the wine list, so Tuesday you could get a great value on food and not break the bank on wine. If you haven't been yet, give Restaurant 17 a try.

The atmosphere, decor, and view are exactly what I had hoped for and then some. The food however, was a bit over priced and less than stellar.

If you are looking for for the kind of fare that has put Asheville and Charleston on the map, you'll have to leave downtown Greenville. Restaurant 17 is one of the best restaurants in the Upstate. They pride themselves on locally sourced, scratch food inspired by both southern and French cuisine. Though they have had a chef change lately, the food seems unscathed. I love their handmade gnocchi dish and their charcuterie (though it's enough to just tease you). I could make a meal alone on their bread and butter... And the trout dip made with locally caught mountain trout. We've eaten our way through several of their seasonal menus and have been pleased with it all! You might endure sticker shock, but nothing unexpected for a restaurant and hotel people are traveling half way around the world to try. I actually met a world traveling newlywed couple in a bar in Asheville once (he was from France, I think) and they rated Restaurant 17 as one of their top restaurant experiences in the world. I recommend the Fall for the best view! Oh, and their bar is fabulous for a glass of wine and a burger! (Not so serious fare, and you still get the fab mountain view!)

An exceptional dinner at 17 restaurant at hotel domistique. From the drive up to the Italian villa styled hotel, we had drinks in the bar over looking the beautiful pool deck with the smokey mountains in the background. When it was time to be seated we were seated in the main dinner room under, what has to be, one of the coolest like fixtures in the upstate. The dinning room is elegant if understated. Food was fabulous....I had the veal and it was prepared in no way I would have expected it and I could not have been happier. Service was top notch. My only regret is we didn't stay the night in what I am sure are beautifully appointed rooms in the hotel....maybe next time. Totally worth the drive out

I want to explain this very thoroughly why I am giving a 3 star review. The atmosphere and service of this restaurant is absolutely beautiful. The food was very earthy and paired well with both of the wines I had with my meal. Everything was fresh and cooked well. We came here for restaurant week, and this is where I get into the part that made me change my review from a slightly better number. SC restaurant week is my favorite thing I've discovered since moving to the south. We always try to pick the restaurant with the most diverse menu, which is why we chose Restaurant 17 this year. I was disappointed that the menu posted for restaurant week was completely different, save a few items, than what we were served. It made it a little more frustrating that we had chosen a restaurant so far out of the way to order off of a menu that wasn't what we were expecting. In the future, I hope that any future experience I have with this restaurant will be a more fulfilling one. I believe if I returned with different expectations I would probably give a higher rating. It is just hard to feel 100% satisfied while the feeling of deception is lying in your stomach.

One of the best dining experiences I've ever had. The food is approachable, and impeccable. Service was second to none, and the wine list is amazing. Wasn't disappointed by a single bite.

My lunch was great. I'm looking forward to a dinner. Now Open to the public. We had a sandwich and a smoked trout salad. The place is beautiful.

My wife and I re-visited 17 last evening for dinner with friends. While we continue to love the atmosphere here, the cuisine and the service were lacking. The food: ingredients are great, the menu interesting, and has all the potential of being great. But, fish was served way undercooked-- maybe that's ok for tuna but a fresh water trout needs to be cooked, not served cold. Likewise, simple things, like a hot, not lukewarm, capachino Prices are as high as you'll pay anywhere here, the expectations need to be higher for the cuisine. The service: last time the service was less than stellar, but I let it slide as we were stunned by the NYC atmosphere in the middle of nowhere. While the service staff means well, and look the role of big city wait staff, they need some basic training. Bottom line, we've been raving to our Hendersonville friends about this place. Today we're telling them not to go.

My family has a home in the Cliffs and we were so disappointed when La Bistade closed down - as it was a close place to get a beautiful dinner. The re-opening of the space with Restaurant 17 was very exciting, especially with such wonderful food and ambiance. HIghlights -included delicious wine, the potato and octopus salad, rainbow trout and butternut squash risotto. Ingredients were local and seasonal - and we ate up every bite! We will absolutely be going back next time we are in town - a perfect night out!

Worth every penny. Went here since I had seen write ups and reviews everywhere about it and decided to give it a go. Ambiance 5 out of 5. The decor was nice and I loved the huge light fixture in the center of the dining area. The plates were stylish and the noise level and spacing was perfect. Service 4.5 out of 5. The wait staff itself was right on with friendliness, attentiveness, and menu knowledge. The front of the house manager checked in on us as well to make sure everything was wonderful. My only minor ding is when we were being seated, they did not ask if it was acceptable to be seated upstairs as I have been asked at all other 2 story fine dining establishments. When a member of the party recently had knee surgery, this was a concern which they were quick to remedy. With a price point as high as this, they should be more proactive about it. Food 5 out of 5. We started out with some homemade bread that was still warm and great. The butter had been sprinkled with salt which added a nice pop. Even though the butter dish was cool looking, it definitely could have been bigger because it was no where near enough. The appetizers were both great. I had oysters on the half shell and I enjoyed them however the mignonette sauce was a little overpowering and even though it was tasty, the oysters were lost. My partner had the egg yolk ravioli which was amazing. For dinner my partner had scallops and stripped bass. The fish was cooked wonderfully and the pickled shallots along with the kumquats added a great pop of acid and flavor. I had the pork belly along with a brussels sprout, oat, and mushroom mixture in fish sauce. This side accompaniment was the best item of the night hands down. I couldn't get enough of it. It hit every note of flavor and texture and went well with the pork but to put how good it was into words would be impossible. I would seriously just go back and eat 2 orders of it alone for dinner. For desert my partner had a citrus panna cotta which was creamy and flavorful and tasty. Both of our favorite of the deserts was mine which was a blood orange torte served with pistachios and buttermilk ice cream. I mean, wow. Right amount of sweet with a hint of sour with the ice cream balancing it with creaminess. We will be going back. When a side dish blows me away like that, how can we not?

We were let down by the food. We expected more. Service was great! By servings and selection, it seems this restaurant is only looking to make as much money as possible in the shortest time. For Example: Serving a house vodka from Madison, Mississippi that is virtually un-drinkable...... This was an anniversay dinner and I had booked in advance and specifically requested a table with a view. We were sat in the extreme opposite corner and throughout the evening, the tables with a view were never utilized. I do not expect that we will ever return
