We went here for lunch today. This is not our first time but each time has been increasingly disappointing. We walked in through the vacant patio on a very hot day to find it warm inside, although better than the covered patio, but not by much. We walked by the lone waiter chatting (he paused to look up at us momentarily) while he leaned over a booth. He never provided any sort or greeting or "go ahead and seat yourself and I'll be right with you". My son wanted to sit by the front window so we did. It was a a little bit warmer in the sun which I knew would resurface later. It took a minute to get our menu, which he dropped off and walked away without saying a word. Then he came back to get our drink order a couple minutes later. After ordering I had to take in the decor and noticed all sorts of crooked pictures on the wall. There were gold Christmas tree ornaments on the ceiling as well as a Christmas wreath and and elf head on the wall. The patio is decorated with gift bags hanging from the ceiling and faded corona boxes. I assume maybe it's a tacky Christmas in July theme or they were too busy to take them down from last December. Judging by the crowd and the fact that the amount of cars have dwindled down when I drive by almost daily, they are not too busy. The tables contained wrapped silverware but nothing else. The tv in the corner was showing a Mexican song video with a lady (assumed customer) dancing in front of it. The flower containers on the patio wall did not contain flowers. The patio tables lacked tablecloths and looked drab much like the ones inside. There was a ceiling tile missing and numerous other stained ones. I thought perhaps the food was maybe better from the last time. We haven't been here in a while because typically we go to mariachi's in town. They had a fire in the kitchen a couple weeks ago so they weren't an option. I had the nachos supreme which looked good but contained and obnoxious amount of refried beans under all the lettuce. I could have used another basket of chips but we already had two while waiting for the food. When asked if the AC was broken or if it was always this hot in the restaurant, the waiter said nothing and disappeared around the corner. He came back and said it was working and suggested another table away from the window. This didn't solve the problem and we continued to sweat. When the waiter came by again I was done with my food. He asked how it was and I said o.k. This must be the average response because he said nothing as if they had succeeded in meeting their mediocre standards. He came by again asking if we needed a box....I did not. The plates remained untouched when he returned with a box for my wife. She enjoyed the burritos supreme and only managed to eat one. Still no plates were removed for the table nor a check received at this point. I waited a bit longer with children complaining they wanted to leave because it was too hot. At the register I was asked what we had for drinks while he punched the numbers on the calculator. I ignored this question as he was also my waiter...he should know. I was reminded that kids eat free on Sunday and given my total, which I had know way of verifying his keen math skills although he opened the menu to punch in the prices. This means they must be correct but we will never know. The food was mediocre as expected however the atmosphere and service will ensure that I will never return. I hoped for better, as they are conveniently located close to our house.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
