Awesome food their Cheese Steak Burrito is literally the best think I have ever eaten. I don't know how you could rate it less then 3 stars considering all the food I have had there is amazing plus the people are really nice. It's not any less well kept then any other restaurant of this type so I highly recommend you try it! The bar there actually looks very nice also but I have no tried their drinks...

New review addition/update: And so people don't think their words go unnoticed (by me anyway - maybe unnoticed by the location we're speaking of in general, but not by me) I'll add my information as well as touch on things said by others. 1. Admittedly, on my return visit, the AC wasn't working well. It was working, just not to the point of a nice cool temperature. Thankfully they had the ceiling fan going to help, and of course the closer you were to the AC unit the better. I can't really say that's a negative on them. I mean, as a hole in the wall/starter location they are going to have limited funds. I'm more worried about the food/service than overall condition. As long as I have four walls, sit comfortably, don't pass out from heat stroke, and am not shoeing bugs away from my food. You're good for a start - granted, I don't expect this at Chili's. 2. I can't really say the food is overpriced, I think it's priced according to competition. But, in fairness, I'm paying for quality of food. I can go get a $50 steak at Ruth's Chris, but then find a $30 steak at Demo's Restaurant (Nashville, TN) that I enjoy more and find better quality. It's not fair to assume price with location/name, I'd pay more money for better food personally. Although I don't think that is the case here ($2 per traditional taco... 2 is enough for most, and 3 is stomach filling meal) 3. I can't argue with Teri on that one, is it 100% authentic and amazing food? No, but I'm also not in Southern Texas or Mexico... is it as close as you can get in the middle of nowhere South Carolina? You bet it is! I personally think it's better than I expected to find. On my return trip I tried the more traditional American tacos, hard shells with lettuce, tomato, etc. The shells are made in house, so you're not dealing with the bland ones your generally get from most places. Instead they are tasty, fall apart delicious crunchy, and filled with tasty goodness. The meat, slight under seasoned, but still very very good. If you're not sure, come try it. I highly suggest the more traditional food over what you 'expect' from Mexican places. So give the old school tacos, or Mole a try. You might be impressed!

Don't let the outdated exterior of the building steer you away this inside is clean, modern, and comfortable. Lunch was super quick and the express fajita plate is HUGE! Large selection of food and beers makes this place a great choice for Mexican food in Sumter.

Authentic Mexican food right outside of Shaw AFB. When I walked in and saw las telenovelas on the Univision channel, I knew that the food was going to be good. Food was Awesome. Got a chance to meet the owners. Service was personal. Owners recently bought the restaurant from the previous owner, so some menu items have dropped off; however, the owner reassured me that they will bring back most of the items. No beer is served; owners still awaiting liquor license approval. My overall rating.....4 stars (only b/c no beer)

Meh, no bad. Not great. I didn't die. Had the lunch burrito and chalupa. Fast service, cheap price, just nothing special about it.

Not bad for Sumter. This is our first assignment with the USAF, and we miss good Mexican dives that are available back home in Utah and the west coast. This isn't the best I've ever had, it's probably the best around.

Oh are you joking me?! Five stars?? I wouldn't give it one but the little waitress was so sweet I have to. 1. The air conditioning is not working or is bad?? 2. WAYYYYYY overpriced for Sumter SC. 3. Food is meh. I could do better at home. Wanted to look past it all because we want to support local businesses. But oh my Jesus this is really really bad. The guy (I believe he was the owner?) wasn't very clean looking, and knew that the ac was or lack thereof was bad. No apologies just suggested I get closer to the system....mmmmmkay. The cooks don't understand medium rare on a steak. They had one...one other table and it was the landlord for the building. They know the ac doesn't work yet don't fix it?? Not sure but that's what it appeared like to me. The poor waitress can't possibly be making money in this joint. This was a Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmare waiting to happen. I honestly can't get over how bad the entire set up is. I don't see this making it. They don't have the quality to justify their prices nor do they have the hole in the wall atmosphere that can be intriguing. Instead it's makes you just plain sad. I'd say go to chilis or mariachis. This is outside the shaw gate so the convenience factor would or should be appealing. It's not. I'm good thanks.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
