We attended Valentines Family Fun Night at Ryans with some friends. In total we had 6 adults and 14 Children. They conveniently sat us in a room so we may sit together. Their are a lot of choices. Even for vegetarians. I was surprise on the amount of choices there were. We are not big on buffet but on family night its worth going because kids are just 99cents with a drink. You cant beat that. They also have activities and /or crafts for children on Thursday. Their dinner rolls are delish.

The food selection is terrible! For a buffet I would expect more than just 7 main dish items. Also, the conversations that the cooks and kitchen staff were having was beyond rude! They used profanity and talked about sexual things. Plus, having to seat ourselves just made the experience feel extra cheap (in a bad way). I remember the Ryan's that was on rivers avenue in the 90s to mid 2000s and they treated people like they came into a decent restaurant. Idk if all Ryan's restaurants having taking the cheap, easy way of doing business like the summerville location, but hopefully the summerville location is just the one bad apple.

I have a feeling that the positive reviews for this place really mean that it's a good VALUE (dirt cheap) and that it's possibly above average for the AREA--the food is definitely NOT high quality. Also, the person at the front was inattentive and did not even offer a greeting or farewell. The selection was nothing to write home about either-lacking compared to most other buffets I've been to. A few items were never refilled and a few hot items like soup, for example, were barely room temperature. The dinner rolls looked like they were probably good, but mine was so undercooked it was inedible (just chewy dough). Only highlights were that our server was very nice and polite, and a few of the items were tasty enough to get filled up and leave better off than we came (hungover and full instead of really hungover and empty). That being said, I wouldn't recommend it unless you're nursing a hangover like we were and don't care much about real quality.

The absolute worst place to eat ever!! The smell of the place is a total stomach turner before you even get to the food. The food is disgusting. Broccoli like mush, way overcooked always. Mashed potatoes like soup. Spaghetti always way overcooked. No meat sauce but a watered down tomato sauce. Frozen fish all dried up. Steak like beef jerky. Frozen chicken strips. Cold baked potatoes that butter won't even melt on. Nobody is usually at the carving station. Have to stand there forever, then have to go hunt somebody down to serve you. I have seen the waitresses having to go and cut meat for people cause no one else is around. With a drink the cost of an adult meal is around $15.00 and you are getting the poorest quality of food around. Better off going to fast food.

If I wrote this review a couple of years ago, I would have probably given it 4 stars...but lately every time I go it seems that the quality of food is slowly but surely decreasing. I tried their breakfast bar once, and it was awwwwwful! I have stopped going there completely.

Lunch buffet for $4.99? Yes! This is the weekday pricing for the lunch buffet, including the complete salad bar and dessert bar. Lunch choices on the day I was there included fried chicken, spaghetti, fish, hot dogs, and a couple of other meats along with plenty of vegetables and side items. Hard to not like this variety at this price.
