This is my local watering hole. Close to the house, cold beer, good food. check, check and check. They have a small but nice outside patio, and a patio bar which is usually where all the smokers are. They do allow you to bring your doggies there - but they have to sit outside of course. They will bring the dogs a little water bowl and treats from time to time. Inside has the typical long bar, and tall 6-10 person tabletops, and the booths. Lots of TVs to watch the games - they will turn the channel for you as well most of the time, if you want to watch a game they dont have on. Love coming here to watch the football games on Sundays. Just a nice atmosphere and its always fun to meet other who may be rooting with you for your team. The food menu was changed around about a 10 months ago and i think its absolutely for the better. The chicken nacho app is fantastic, definitely enough for 2 people to eat for dinner. If you are feeling like something a little heavier - try the loaded german jo-jos. those things will put you into a very satisfied carb coma. Its awesome yummy. Something a little lighter? The Greek, house or Chef salad with some grilled chicken on top or salmon - perfect for when you want a bit of something but not quite sure what. SIgnature burger, or Yeti burger are the best around here in summerville. When i am craving a burger - this is where i go. you can ask for it to be medium instead of well done, the try to accommodate your taste. Wraps - omg this - this is the best one around anywhere - Salmon wrap. great grilled salmon with pecans and a spicy raspberry sauce. it is a must try here. my absolute favorite. other wraps - the default and the greek chicken are delicious. Wings - try the dry rubs. I really like their spicy italian dry rub. Very very good. They do have sandwiches - the usual like the club or philly. Most of them are pretty good, but I usually stick to the food stuffs I mentioned above. They do try to do a separate football menu during the season, and they have nightly specials. Take a chance on the desserts, they are all homemade by one of the managers mothers. And they are 3 out of 4 times melt in your mouth delicious. Drink specials of course every night - they vary. Great little hole in the wall type local neighborhood bar. Great atmosphere and fun.

This place is great! Thus far I've only had the opportunity to eat and drink here once but I'm still absolutely sold on coming back. The food was good, the cocktails were great and both the staff and fellow diners/drinkers were absolutely wonderful! When my husband and I dined here, we sampled the D & D Daycare platter which was basically a big kid sampling of the children's menu including mini corn dogs, cheese quesadillas, boneless chicken bites, mini cheeseburgers, and a side of fries and also tried the Ultimate Nachos with Chicken. I have to say I was quite excited that the nachos had REAL cheese and appeared to have been finished in the oven as it arrives on what looks like a metal pizza round. Also no bar experience is complete without sampling the cocktails! My husband stuck with beer but I decided to take a tour of the cocktail menu with the Taste of Summerville (a lovely champagne cocktail), the Pomise Ring (a tasty Gin & Tonic), Skinny Southerner (Skinny Firefly Sweet Tea vodka cocktail), and the Folly Peach (a tequila and peach schnapps cocktail). YUM! Additionally I love that they have an outside patio. If you smoke, you can do it at the tables there. Alternatively, if you, like me, have a dog of your own, the patio seating is pet friendly - love it! Lastly, while I haven't been able to check any of it out myself yet, they have a great schedule of events and deals all week long. Monday is a team trivia night, Tuesday is all about beer deals, Wednesday holds beer and burger specials, Thursday has Vodka specials, Friday highlights "bomb" drinks (jager bombs and the like, and Saturday-Sunday features a bloody mary bar! Also with the exception of Saturday-Monday, all other deals are available all day!

Don't be fooled this is a dive bar. Decor hasn't been updated since probably the 90's. Dingy. Half the beer on tap was all warm (not available). We tried the jalapeño popper dip it was just jalapeño and cream cheese and a little cheddar worst part was the stale almost mushy tortilla chips. Someone behind us ordered the supposed "fresh" fish and chips, it didn't smell fresh. Service was a joke our server clearly hated her job and didn't want to be there. We won't be back and if you haven't been don't.

Parking is hard to find, but it's my favorite place to sit outside and have a drink. It's smoking friendly on the outside patio, the drinks are good, and they are very welcoming of your dog's. Only place me and hubby go on date night.

There are few places you can go with a large group without having to go to the expense of renting a huge banquet hall and paying for over priced catered food. But D&D welcomed my family and friends that wanted to gather for my daughter's graduation with open arms. The service was nothing short of superior and friendly. The food, as always, was scrumptious and prepared to perfection. I highly recommend the nachos, boneless wings and the hamburgers.

I went there with my family & friends! Staff was friendly and accommodating. Great food & affordable. Nice beer selection too! The bar/restaurant had an energetic atmosphere! It was nice to find a restaurant pet friendly! Never had pet friendly restaurant / bar growing up in Boston!

Good cheap place to eat. 4$ happy hour menu from 4:30-7:30. Fried pickles are awesome and the wings are great. Try the death valley

Been here once so far. Service was a little slow but the food was good and their patio is dog friendly, and they'll even bring your pup a water bowl with water & ice!

This place has great food, friendly service and a great bar staff. They show the sports games on tvs, and the outdoor setting is what I love.

Food is tasty but the wait for food is too long. It feels like they are constantly under staffed. Bottom line, don't go there if you are in a hurry. Otherwise the place is spacious with a really nice outside eating area. Somewhat concerned that dishes, glasses, and other tableware is washed by hand as we were told they had no dishwasher.

Best bartender in Dorchester, Sharon! We always sit on the patio where you can enjoy a cigarette or cigar along with being able bring your dog with you.

Took TWO HOURS and we still didn't get food until we parked ourselves at the cash register! We would have walked out but didn't want to break the law. We were in a rush by this point, so we had to just pay up and run. The manager wouldn't even cut us a break. He even tried to make excuses for the slow service by claiming they were busy. Ridiculous! I don't care if you are busy...other restaurants are busy and they still serve food in under 2 hours! Maybe the bartender can get you a beer, but this place advertises itself as a restaurant. It shouldn't. Oh, and the food was only so-so. Not worth the hassle.

Stopped in on my lunch break years ago around 3pm so it was at all busy. I ordered a hot pastrami sandwich and a Bud Light. It was delicious. Service was prompt and polite. What really stood out to me was the dessert that I ordered: Oreos and milk. I know it's very simple, but how many places do you know that offer stuff like that?

The Duck is a good local hole. Good service-very nice people and they have a decent selection of brews. Food isn't bad for pub food, and I think they have trivia (or some game) nights that I hear are good. Nothing elaborate-nothing exceptional. It is a bit rough around the edges, but it IS a local pub. I would suggest some updates (might help bring in more people), but then again, they do have a pretty good sized following, so it's whatever.

The service was OK. But the food is simply fried bar food. Decent price. Nothing special. Wouldn't go back.

We are never disappointed when we go to the Dog and Duck. The service is awesome, the food is great, and they engage their customers with activities.

I don't get to this side of town often. When I do I'm glad that this place is still doing successfully. It has a great local bar feel. It's closet to Hwy 61 so I can get home easily. The patio is great place to be when the weather is nice regardless of if you smoke or not. The service here is good. The staff are very friendly and quick so you don' thave to wait long for a drink or for your food. The food which I've had appetizers like the Fried Mushrooms the last visit was really good. Well made and not soggy like I've seen. It was a little garlicky if I remember correctly but delicious none-the-less. Definitely understand why this place has stayed open since I'm sure they have a regular following.

I wish there was an option I could give negative ratings. Worst worst worst service even for all the restaurant or bars I have been to. Been there twice, sitting at the table, and got completed ignored by the staff both times. First time I had to called the waitress after half an hour waiting. Second time sat there for 20 min and I had to walk away. I really hate this restaurant. They show no respect to their potential customer at all.

Love this place. Their wings are always on point, I usually order double dunked(fried twice for ppl who doesn't like not even a little bit of pinkish meat in their wings lol) in Hot, it goes great with blue cheese. And their loaded nachos are very big serving, I think 3 ppl can eat together. I usually get beef with extra jalapeño, it's the best nacho in town in my opinion. Sometimes I get mahi taco which is great too, it's grilled mahi, some slaw and sauce on top. I haven't had any menu I didn't like from this place to be honest. I love going there to on Tuesday for $2 beer, shock top for $2? You can't beat that!

Some of the best wings in Summerville. Attentive staff and pretty clean. Every once in a while the chef will come up with something cool, but it's normally something safe and not risky. Very friendly and always a place I stop at!

I love the Dog and Duck. Their wing selection is awesome and the Yeti Burger is one of my favorites. The venue is pretty big and the outdoor patio is heated during the colder months. The staff is great and the beer selection is always good. I definitely recommend the Dog and Duck.

I really love this place. The staff is friendly and attentive, their food includes your typical bar fare. There's nothing better than sitting at the outside bar with your dog either!

The food here is great and the beer even better. They have several craft brews on tap and big selection of bottles. They welcome your four legged friend in the outdoor bar area and will bring out a water bowl to make sure the charleston area summers don't over heat mans best friend.

Love weekends at the dog and duck. Great mimosas, excellent Reuben sandwiches, good service. Love seeing the dogs on the patio.

One of my favorite summerville lunch spots. The French dip is delicious, the beers are cold, and I can bring my 4 legged friend.

Well we gave it one more shot, had several bad experiences and a couple decent, but it was close and a nice day for outside. Service still needs work, employees still drinking like the old days, guess management still has a full grip on that problem. Last time the waitress was taking shots, notice I said SHOTS, with the next table and actually billed us for them, maybe on purpose, I don't know. Foods still the same as when we were here almost a year ago so that hasn't changed any. Its really too bad, they have a great location, I know in my business when you see the same recurring problems with a lot of new faces working there it shows a management issue. Doubt anything will change there, except us, we will not be back no matter how nice the day. BTW for some reason yelp hides some comments so look at the filtered comments on the bottom.

Good food. Fast service. Friendly staff. I tried the Buffalo chicken dip with Chips and Pita bread and it exceeded my expectations. The semi outdoor/indoor patio area was very unique and crowded... luckily there was a huge bar inside with plenty of room. There are plenty of TVs with many different games going on at once which is always a plus.

The service is great and everyone is really friendly! Oh and I love the nachos :) I also like that I can bring my greyhound with me. It's a laid back environment. If you like beer and good food i say try it out!

We eat here probably once every month or two. I will say agree with the previous comment about the decor being outdated, but really? It's a bar and grill. We go for sandwiches, not the decor. They always have the games on TV and the staff is friendly. I will call the food average. I LOVED the potato salad and the chicken salad sandwich, both of which they got rid of. (I almost stopped going because of it) I haven't found anything else yet that I really really like. The real reason we go so much? We can take the dog. He loves it, and it's nice to go out and not think about him at home in his crate. I'd say the biggest con to Dog and Duck is the flies. They're everywhere. It really puts you off to the food. If they could fix that and bring back the chicken salad I would be there regularly.

We've been there many times over the years. The menu never changes. They write specials on the board which are difficult to view due to overuse or poor chalk color choices. The service is average. The food is average and the price is average.
