Opted for the restaurant vs the lounge during a stay at the hotel. Took a long shot and ordered a dirty martini and was amazed so I settled in and ordered the filet, which came with a 4 cheese au gratin potatoes. Very yummy. The steak was cooked just right. The seared tuna appetizer was also very tasty. Dropped a star for service. What started out as great service quickly turned to "Could not be bothered because some friends of mine showed up for dinner". We ended up with another server towards the end. No reason whatsoever!! Strange. But food was delish!

Our group ate here twice during our stay at the Marriott. Both times our service was slow and the food was below average. The second time we told them we were in a hurry and there was no one else in the restaurant. It took an hour to get our food. Don't eat here if you have any expectation of quality.

Service was terrible. Waited over 30 mins to order. Waited another 30 on desert that never showed. Pecan crusted chicken had no crust. Our first waitress ignored us until we flagged someone else down. The new waitress took over however she only checked in every 30 mins. Thank God for the young lady that seated us. We gave her a nice tip.

We were staying at the Marriott and decided to have my wife's birthday dinner at the restaurant. We made reservations on Open Table, having eaten at other steak places that were packed on Saturday night, we thought we would need reservations. Little did we know we would be the only people in the entire restaurant..and for good reason. When we got there the waitress/hostess, Tearsa, had no idea what Open Table was although every restaurant that uses it as its reservation source has to be registered. Anyway, we ordered a glass of Le Crema Pinot Noir each and when it was delivered to the table it didn't taste good. We have had Le Crema many times and it is usually a good go to Pinot or Chardonnay if we want a decent wine without spending a lot of money. So we told the waitress/hostess the wine didn't taste right and she left and asked the bartender if she was sure she served us the right type of wine. The bar tender apparently said the bottle was opened the night before. The waitress asked if we would like a different type of wine, but never offered to open a new bottle of wine or to bring us new glasses. I didn't even drink my wine and was still charged for it. My wife did finish about 3/4 of her glass and she too was charged. This place is supposed to be a steak house so we ordered steaks. My wife ordered a filet mignon I ordered a ribeye. My wife typical enjoys her steaks well-done. I know that is hard to read for those of us that love steaks, but she does. She always asked for her filet mignons to be butterflied and cooked well-done. The waitress/hostess looked like she had grown a third eye when my wife told her to let the chef know it was okay if he butterflied it. About 5 minutes after our waitress/hostess left the table someone else came to our table and asked if it would be ok if they butterflied it. This waitress/hostess was absolutely clueless. My daughter ordered lobster spaghetti. Both steaks were so over-seasoned they were nearly impossible to eat. In fact, neither of us finished our steaks. My steak was served with some mashed potato concoction that was cold when it was served. My wife's cheesy potatoes were the best thing on her plate. Oddly, the lobster spaghetti in a steak house is the only thing that got good reviews. My daughter really enjoyed her meal. So let's wrap this up, clueless waitress/hostess, a bottle of wine that was well on its way to being bad, steaks so salty they couldn't be consumed, and cold mashed potatoes. If all that appeals to you then come to this place. If you prefer a good dining experience then I would highly recommend you leave the hotel and go elsewhere. Really disappointed this was how my wife had to spend her birthday...

shocked BROKE rule # 1 on hotel food: I ordered the fish. Their fresh fish of the night was pecan crusted trout. Instead I ordered the trout just grilled with butter. TWO large fillets, cooked just right and obviously fresh ( that is always the key) chose the mashed potatoes as the side ( why no baked potatoes, but the mashed had nice pieces of potatoes with some ?pepper -? so just fine) Service just right too; Host said that they remodeled the restaurant last year. It used to be dark and gloomy, now open to windows and inviting ( ok sounds like a commercial, but really, I used to hate eating here).

We chose Sparks for our Easter brunch. The bloody mary was the best part, however I did not appreciate that the server told me that there was a contest to see who could sell the most alcoholic beverages that day, I found this was tasteless especially on a holiday. The shrimp, salmon and cheese table was the best offering of the day, but one is not able to get their full $30 value from these finger foods. The ham was overcooked and dry, the fish was fishy, the chicken was overcooked and over seasoned, the fries that were offered were extremely hard, the chicken fingers (I opted this route I figured it was easy enough) nearly broke off my bracket on my braces. Both the mashed potatoes and the macaroni & cheese were overcooked, hard and not warm. And there was no gravy for the potatoes and no green vegetables offered which seemed strange for a holiday. The pesto pasta sauce was watery. The desserts, rolls and biscuits were dry and simply not edible. The brunch was overpriced for the quality that was offered. Perhaps they should consider limiting the number of items offered and focusing on quality for future offerings? Our sever was very nice. The decorations were also nice. Having a grown man walk around in a Peter Cottontail outfit and hand out candy to adults who were eating was not only bothersome, but a little freaky. We will not return for the heavily marketed Mother's Day brunch...

I am staying at the Marriott this week and decided that I didn't want to venture out of the hotel so I headed down to Sparks. The staff is incredibly friendly here. They greet you with a smile and a kind hello. Not something you always get back in the Midwest. The restaurant was very tastefully decorated and cozy feeling. I arrived early so there wasn't much of a crowd, though there were quite a few people at Mesh next door. Service was prompt and the server was very nice and polite. He was honest with me when I asked what he recommended on the menu, so I knew he wasn't trying to up-sell me on something that might not be good, but cost a lot. I opted for the Lobster Mac n Cheese. It was the best Lobster Mac I have had. Even beats the one at Purple in downtown Seattle. It had large chunks of sweet lobster and a nice crunchy topping. I also had a Cob salad. It was good too, but to me salad is salad. The whole meal was reasonably priced which is nice since a lot of hotels gouge on prices for dinning in. I will be back next week and will try the Lobster Spaghetti. For what the restaurant offers I give it 5 Stars for atmosphere/decor, service, flavor, quality, price and convenience.
