I really like this restaurant. I'm on a project in Spartanburg and the local faire is a bit sparse. This Thai is really good however. I love their unique take on Massaman with sweet potatoes - sort of adds a North African influence to the dish, plus a nod to the locavores! Service is fast and friendly, food is fresh and delicious - - oh yeah, they can also modify the heat to your liking - now for most people this means making it mild enough for their sensitive palates, but for me it means cranking up the heat enough to compliment the flavor, not mask it!!

Best Thai food in the upstate. They have a private room that I've used for several business dinners. It has the feel of fine dining with the prices of a casual restaurant. All of the soups are great and the Bangkok duck is excellent

I really wanted to like this restaurant. Any time Spartanburg gets something more than a "meat & two veggies" restaurant, I get excited. I love Thai food! I'm not sure that what is served here is Thai food. It's not that it was bad. It wasn't. It's just that it was not very good. The one thing it surely was not was anything close to authentic.

The Red Curry was delicious and well made. My wife had the Pad Thai and she was really impressed. She has had Pad Thai many different places and really enjoyed it here. The service wasn't fantastic but our server was young, so we weren't surprised. As a result out wait time was a little long, but the meal was well worth the wait. The bathrooms could use changing tables.

Best pho on Spartanburg. The chef actually cooks the bone in the broth for 6 hours and it's so clear and delicious. I don't mind paying $10 plus for a bowl. The atmosphere is soothing and the waiters and waitresses are sweet. They are always helpful and greets exceptionally. The ambience is even nice. Other dishes are good too but when I think about Bangkok, a decent bowl of pho always come to mind. If you want a yummy bowl of noodle soup, Bangkok Cafe is the place to be.

Bangkok Thai Cusine, a Haiku A blah addition To the drab, collective funk That is local Thai The seafood salad Direct from the frozen bag To your plate, spicy Nice enough service Every ten or so minutes: "How is everything?" Would I soon return? Perhaps, for curry Panang But please, hold the krab

Customize your cuisine! There is a variety of Asian fare on the menu that you can tailor to your own tastebuds. They can make the dishes anywhere on the spicy scale from mild to holy-crap-that's-hot. The dishes are also vegetarian-friendly, as you can order different sauces and curries with tofu or vegetables instead of the usual meat options which they also have of course. I decided to try the AMAZING curry. That's a pretty bold adjective to live up to and it almost did. It was good but not the best curry I've ever had in my life. Came here for dinner Sunday night. It was a bit busy (I think there was even a birthday party going on in the backroom) but service was pretty good. My dad eats here for lunch often and says they have some great lunch specials. BOTTOM LINE: There's something for everyone.

My friend and I were feeling some Thai food for a dinner date and being not around Spartanburg, we yelped a few places and decided on this place. It was a fabulous decision. The inside of the store is a bit out of date, and could use some remodeling, but the food is what really matters, right? We ordered quit a few things to just try out and share. She ordered chicken pad thai and chicken red curry. The pad thai was okay, it was lacking in flavor a bit and sorta bland. The red curry was great! It wasn't overwhelmingly spicy and it had the perfect balance of flavors. I ordered a chicken basil stir fry which was easily my favorite dish of the meal. The veggies were cooked to perfection- not overcooked or not undercooked. The dish was seasoned just right! They also didnt make it too spicy.. I told them 5/10 for spice wise and it tasted just right. I also ordered some Thai Hot Wings which were eh, okay. They were a bit on the salty side and not so much spicy. What I also liked about this place is that they gave you a bowl of rice with a rice spoon to get your own rice! And they refill it if you run out of rice (for FREE!) Of course to get the rice bowl, you need to order dishes served with rice though.. The portions are really big, more than we expected. Let's just say, we had a lot of to go boxes! I'd definitely recommend this place. Happy eating!

What a good find in Spartanburg! The directions on Google or Yelp are a bit off, but it's located next to Blockbuster. My husband and I visited while at a conference in the area. We were so happy with the service, the food, and the prices! The pad thai is our staple dish and it was flavorful and plentiful! Our server was very friendly and made sure we had a great lunch experience. We ordered hot tea and as we were leaving our server made us tea to go. Bonus! I even left something at our table and they were happy to keep it for me until I was able to return (rather that automatically throw it away). When in Spartanburg, eat at Bangkok Thai!

Got lunch to go today and it was delicious. Can't wait to go back for dinner with my husband!

Great little place. Best pad thai I've probably ever had... in fact, it's all we eat there anymore! Fresh ingredients, very friendly service and so far, never a bad meal. Bangkok, along with City Range and another thai place, are our all purpose fallback restaurants in town. Heck, Bangkok Thai is one of the few places I'll eat leftovers from....tastes even better, impossibly, the second day. love it!

This is for the "East Side" location. I have eaten here several times and I would recommend driving to their other location in Boiling Springs. The sufficient in quantity and quality but nothing to write home about. The wait staff (unless you are fortunate enough to get the manager) has been utterly deplorable without fail. Cutting up and having loud for fun arguments is all well and good just not in the dinning room. Appetizers, soups, salads, and entrees have been served to me and my wife on top of each other several times causing us to either eat cold food, or dry food if we sent it back. In short, if you are craving Thai, drive the extra 15 minutes to Boiling Springs!

Their food is really good.. Their portions are very big.. Their wit staff is not so friendly.. But I will still go because they have good food

May not be authentic but all of their curry dishes are great. And the Bangkok duck is rich and crispy. Their pineapple fried rice with chicken is good but I prefer the curry. And we always get the chicken satay. We usually eat at their sister restaurant in Boiling Springs because it is closer. But it is pretty much the same food taste and quality. Very nice ambiance at both places.

Before I begin this review, I want to note that I am comparing this restaurant to similar ones in the Greenville-Spartanburg area, and not to some of the better Thai restaurants that I have been to in Thailand, San Francisco, etc. That said, it wasn't a bad Thai restaurant. My husband and I were on the Hillcrest side of Spartanburg when we decided to try another restaurant that I had been meaning to try when I was in town (I think it was Austrian or something like that.) Anyway, it wasn't open on a Sunday night and the Bangkok, located just across the street, was. We noticed that the parking lot was full and that the local newspaper had written several glowing articles about the Bangkok Restaurant. Since we wanted to try out several different types of food, we ordered the dinner for 2 (soup, spring rolls, and your choice from the stir fry and/or royal curry families.) I wasn't overly fond of the rolls and the soup was just good; however, the entrees were much better. I am a huge fan of curries so we ordered the red curry, as well as the Royal Kee Mow Chicken (garlic chili sauce with bell peppers, mushrooms, onions, and basil.) I was happy to see that we could order how "hot" we wanted the curry, that we could get brown rice, and that they had hot green tea. Both selections were good; however, as I told you before, I am a fan of curries so of course, the curry was my favorite. The pineapple inside of it gave a hint of sweetness, along with the coconut milk, to offset how "hot" the rest of the dish was. I definitely recommend this location to people visiting Spartanburg or to locals. Since they have a large selection of vegetarian dishes, vegetarians or vegans should have fairly ample options.

Nice lunch spot. Pad Thai was good, hot and sour soup tasty, but not great. Green tea hit the spot. Enjoyed it but does not hold a candle to lime leaf down the street

i was in town visiting for a weekend and on a Sunday had a particular need for some Thai food, and we stumbled upon this place (maybe the only one open on Sundays as far as we could tell). We were pleasantly surprised. It appears to be run by Thai people, and the food was quite good. We ordered to go (the interior looks nice), and I had the Larb (with chicken) with Tom Yum Goong and she had a steak dish that I can't remember, but we both liked our meals. I've eaten Thai all over the US and for a town the size of Spartanburg this was pretty darn good. I'll definitely go here again when I need my Thai fix in town.
