for $7.16 this a hidden gem! stop of 95 and fill those bellies!

This was a great stop. $10 for an all you can eat BBQ buffet. The pulled pork was great, as were the beans and fried chicken. Several types of BBQ sauce are available, and a variety of sides, fixins and desserts. A little off the highway, but worth the trip and definitely better than the fast food alternative. Hit up Duke's, you'll be glad you did!

Went in for a late lunch today. Almost didn't stop because the hours on the sign need to be updated, but boy was I glad we did. The buffet was loaded with southern vegetable dishes and salads. The meats were pulled pork, of course, fried chicken and hash. They have ribs after 5:00. The pork had plenty of outside brown and was very tasty, although light on the smoke. The hash was a little on the sweet side for me, but a shot of Texas Pete fixed it right up. The fried chicken was great. The vegetables were all good. The lady behind the buffet was friendly as could be. The place was clean and unpretentious. We stuffed ourselves silly and waddled out happy.

I love this place!!! The vegetables are fresh and cooked to perfection. I don't eat barbecue, but the fried chicken is excellent. Try it with the BBQ sauce.
(5)George G.
Amazing food...the chicken was cooked perfectly...everything was excellent. Open thurs, fri & sat from 11am. Get off the 95 and get your stomach filled at Duke's. Super friendly staff. Best bang for buck on I95.

I seriously don't understand how anyone could give this place less than 5 stars. It's made-from-scratch southern style food, and every single dish is simply stellar. I've had great BBQ before, and this place ranks on par, with fall off the bone ribs, pulled pork with homemade sauce, and perfectly fried chicken. But what puts Duke's on top is their ridiculous assortment of 15+ side dishes, delectable desserts and sweet tea. Plus, all you can eat for $8.99?! You gotta be kidding me! This place is simply life-changing...

We were driving from FL to NY and found this restaurant on Yelp via an app called "Road Ahead" (which I highly recommend for road trips). It seemed like a "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives" kinda place, so we thought we'd check it out for the fun of it. What a great find. The food was delicious, prepared in small batches, and refilled frequently. I can eat only so much fried food without needing a bottle of Tums (although I had more than my usual share of fried chicken, hush puppies and even tried fried okra-- all delicious). But there were a few veggie offerings to keep me happy too. It's no frills, no service, no decor, but for less than $10 on a quality AYCE buffet, I'm not complaining. We'll definitely be back when we drive thru SC next time.

Through the years from the time I was a little boy, I have been to this restaurant. It has changed locations time to time, but that has never stopped me!! They are delicious! So cheap, I just can't wrap my head around how cheap they are. Sure they don't serve my precious coca-cola, but for the quality of food, and small price, I can look past that. :)

Horrible horrible horrible, halfway tempted to call the health department! If you have any food allergies or intolerance avoid this place they are completely ignorant on the subject. Which is sad!

Best southern food ever!! I always make my family take me here when I come back home for visits. It is my favorite! The hash is awesome and the BBQ is great!!!
(5)Teri S.
Don't bother to waste the gas. I was there on Friday at 6:30 when the BBQ should have been fresh. It was hard as a rock and dry. Where's the cheese in the mac and cheese? Fried okra was overcooked. Fried chicken had thighs only, no breasts or wings. Oily. This place does not live up to its reputation. Sorry.

Yummy! We were so upset when the beaufort location closed down but we were happy to find this one in Ridgeland! Dukes is family owned and all items are made from scratch. It's a great casual place for kids and large groups. All the buffet items are great but make sure you try pulled pork and put it on top of the white rice - then smother it all in the "hash'....soooo good!
(4)Emily H.
Awesome! $10 all u can eat great home cooked BBQ meal!
(5)Shady C.
Sweet tea, fried chicken to die for. Think the whole town was there. Nothing fancy just great southern food with a town hall feel. Pistachio ambrosia out of this world. Don't forget to clear your own table. A must stop everytime through.

Duke's BBQ is among the royalty in BBQ names in South Carolina. The Ridgeland Duke's doesn't disappoint and they add some Low Country swagger to their buffet. Great hole hog pulled pork, pretty good hash, and all of your favorite southern food sides. Love when they have the Chicken Bog on the buffet. Some say too much pepper, I say just right! Everything you want in a South Carolina Buffet. Choice between sauces, but mustard is king here. Adore the soul food favorites like greens, cabbage, rutabaga, and/or turnips! Pudding is great, and so is the sweet tea!

We did not stay to actually eat here it's a buffet style they do not serve alcohol it seemed very strange so we left. No tableside service.
(3)Jason L.
$10/head all you can eat. Only open Thursday, Friday, Saturday. This is deep southern rooted food. The hash is a must try. The pulled pork & ribs were a bit dry and lacked smoke flavor. Fried chicken is worth the trip alone, some of the best I've had. Hush puppies are excellent as well. Don't let the shack like appearance deter you, southern hospitality is as alive as ever.
(4)Jc C.
Best hush puppies ever ! Fried chicken Delish Not greasy ! Lots o veg to choose from ! A little heavy handed with the salt . It is an all u can eat buffet - something for everyone !
(4)Elisabeth P.
Unexpected yumminess right off 95. They have a buffet but we since we were on the road we grabbed our food to go. I think it is something like $8 for your choice of meat and three sides. The fried chicken was awesome and the spicy bbq didn't have too much heat but was well seasoned. Mac and cheese is worth splurging on - hush puppies with every purchase. This place looks pretty closed and sketch from the outside but go inside and try some true southern food.

Stumbled upon this on our way from Charleston to Savannah for a late 3pm lunch. There was a sign on the highway and it got pretty good review from Yelp. The place looked tired and I did not have much expectation. $10 total for a buffet including drink and dessert. While I did not like some of the items but the following were very good: - fried chicken (5 stars), steamy hot, juicy and crispy - hush puppies (4 stars), yummy crunchy crust and soft inside - sweet tea (4 stars), strong flavor and not too sweet - fried okra (4 stars), tasty - peach cobbler (4 stars), warm with a nice crunchy top) It was nice that they put out fresh fried chicken, hush puppy, a new tray of peach cobbler for us. There was a loaf of white bread on the table. They even accept credit card. The bathroom needs update but is big and clean. We were happy and full.

I read the reviews and we unfortunately can not share the same positive reviews. There was no soap in the restrooms and someone that worked in the kitchen came in the restrooms area and I mentioned there was no soap and she said "I'll go get some"...after she pottied and came out she said "I'll get some soap now" and a man brought some to us. The food was cold and we were not impressed and very disappointed.

I had so wanted to try this restaurant but because they are only open a few days out of the week I always seemed to miss them. So I was excited to catch them open Friday evening. It was a couple minutes after 8:00 when we walked in and there were plenty of people. We weren't sure if we were to seat ourselves or wait, but when we saw no one we sat ourselves. An employee came over to the door behind us and locked it. We jokingly said, wow we made it just in time and he said, "No, you didn't - we're closed", and walked away. I have never felt so unwelcome in my life. The hours were not posted on the door we came through but it doesn't matter because we will never be back.
(1)Casey H.
Good southern food. Place does mostly an all you can eat buffet. Collard and okra were the best items.
(4)GC B.
Wow this place has everything, Some of the best Fried chicken I have ever had. Great pulled Pork, including cracklings ! S C "Hash", homemade sauces, all of the sides that I tried were great, and homemade. This place has to be experienced to fully appreciate it. Friendly folks, low price ($8.50) which includes your iced tea, and dessert ! I tried the Mac and Cheese, Hash, Hush Puppies for my sides....there are too many to choose from ! Loaves of Bread on the tables to sop up the extra BBQ sauce !!! Quick stop off of I-95 maybe five minutes Only open Thursday,Friday,Saturday
(5)John K.
While not a buffet fan we stop here for lunch when in Ridgeland, on Fridays. Fresh food fried chicken, pulled pork, cole slaw, peach cobbler, fresh potato chips, fried okras. all very good.
(4)T D.
Nothing about this place was good. Ok perhaps, but not a single thing was tasty enough to make me come back. This is a Southern buffet, NOT a bbq joint.
(2)Mike B.
I think its gone down hill! The buffet looked like the movie Vegas vacation where Eddie takes Clark to a cheap hotel buffet. I should snapped a picture to post. It was then that my wife gave me the look as I was hanging her the styrofoam plate and plastic utensils that I knew I was in trouble. More on that later. Most food in the second row was not labeled. The only food recognizable in the second row was fried okra. Which was overcooked . We will get to that later. I opted for the pulled pork and green beans which was labeled and recongizeable! Good thing it was! Grabbed some okra too. That tasted charred. Next to the "salad bar". Looked like coke slaw and potato salad was there along with"sauces"that we're labeled hot and mild. Couldn't recognize the other two items. I thought they were BBQ sauces for the pulled pork and loaded up hot on the side. Turns out the sauces were hot and mild mustard of which I used for hush puppies. Pulled pork was ok with some bar b que sauce. Since this is all you can eat just go for the fried chicken and cole slaw. Kfc has better chicken but if you if a hurry this is the place as this is the most self service restaurant i have ever been to. The only thing they do is put ice in your cup. All tables were sticky and dirty and not a place for kids since they only serve tea and water. This stop will cost me a more expensive dinner as my wife was not happy with my insistence to visit this place on our way through. Stand by for check to follow for that visit.

Amazing food right off 95. Serious comfort food. It's all-you-can-eat buffet-style so you pay first and fill up your styrofoam plate with goodness. The fried chicken, fried okra, hush puppies and cole slaw are an absolute must. For dessert the banana pudding hits the spot. Oh and my god the SWEET TEA. It was quick, easy, homemade and fresh. It's only open Thursday through Saturday so keep that in mind. A true gem off 95.

Mostly a locals place so any tourists who may accidentally stumble on this town might be scared off. Remember that you're there for the food for a great price-not for the ambience, lol. No music, not much talking, each table has a roll of paper towels and a jug of sweet tea, no waitresses, and I believe no soda. Truly a local southern hole in the wall. Kind of cafeteria style. The best food is the pork, fried chicken, hush puppies, ambrosia, and hash (the hash looks weird but tastes awesome!). Some things are just ok but most of the stuff is good. As far as cons-food not always at the proper temperature and the dessert isn't that good. But this place is definitely worth checking out and will be a unique experience for Northerners (I'm from Jersey).

We found Duke's BBQ quite by accident on a recent trip to Florida. We stopped for a bite to eat and didn't want the fast food chain food. Duke is about the farthest thing from chain store fast food. Cafeteria/buffet style southern food. The pulled pork was nicely smoked and not at all greasy. The fried chicken was just like grandmas (I'm pretty sure someones grandma is cooking it in the kitchen). They do have a drive thru, or should I say drive up because you place your order at the window and wait for them to prepare your plate(no intercom system here). But do NOT go for the drive thru...go in and experience this gem. Be sure to save room for desert...The banana/nilla wafer dessert was unreal. If you like to "eat where the locals eat"...This is your kind of place.

If you're driving on I-95 in south South Carolina and have time to enjoy a hearty meal and potentially go into a food coma, stop here! While only open a few days per week (end of week and weekend) it is well worth. Food is served buffet style. Tons of options. The food is fresh and tasty. Menu changes slightly depending on the day (fish on Fridays). My kids loved the grits. Good sweet tea. A loaf of white bread on every table lol!
(4)Kim G.
The worst bbq that I have ever had being from South Carolina this restaurant put southern bbq to shame tasteless dry n cold I do not suggest this place to anyone
(1)Peter M.
$8.16 all you can eat! And it was the absolutely the best southern meal... It made the drive from Jersey to Florida worth it. It was so good we planned our return trip so that we got to Duke's around supper time. And remember save room for dessert! My fav's... Pulled pork, mac & cheese, fried okra, hush puppies, fried chicken (the best I've ever had!) and the desserts. The banana pudding and peach cobbler were the unreal.
