Food is amazing. We are BBQ lovers and thought this pork was top notch. Hickory smoked and mustard sauced pork were tasty. We also enjoyed the collard greens, green beans, hush puppies, Mac and cheese, and fried chicken. Banana pudding was amazing. All served by a friendly staff. Building exterior is unassuming but don't let that fool you. Bathrooms were spotless and service was excellent. Will be back next time we pass through.

What can I say but, damn, that's BBQ at its finest! We did a small road trip from Edisto, SC just to eat here. I've had BBQ all over the country, but theirs just shines above the rest. The ribs were perfect with a mustard based sweet sauce. UNBELIEVABLE! The pulled pork needed nothing, just eat. Each side was perfect in taste and balance and the banana pudding was perfection. We will make the drive again. Only wish they were open more. They are #5 on the SC BBQ trail, but they should be #1!

Don't let the generic name scare you. This is a solid place to eat after a long day of interstate driving. They are only open Thursday through Friday and apparently close at 9 p.m. We came in as they were shutting down but they were nice enough to accommodate the travelers. The food was really great, specifically the mac and cheese and pulled pork. We would have appreciated some labels on all the buffet options, not being from the South and all. The downside was the lack of direction. Do we seat ourselves? Do we have menu options or only a buffet? When do you close? Drink included always? If we were locals, we'd know, but we aren't. Overall, they were friendly and we left to continue our journey full of tasty BBQ!

We saw the BBQ signs and followed it. At first, we were skeptical about the location but then again, its a rest stop of gas stations off of 95. We decided to give it a try and we were surprised! We were greeted with the biggest smile. The service was exceptional and the food was truly delicious! True Carolina BBQ at its best!

Funny story! This is the town that mailed me a "photo ticket".... never knew where or for what. I drive like an old lady...so I immediately hated SC...and vowed to never spend a dime there. Well, someone challenged Ridgeland and my check came back...in full refund. Forgiven! Driving home from the north on 95...and no longer angry at Ridgeland, I Googled BBQ and this place came up. Right off the highway too!! I got a pound of the BBQ pork. GORGEOUS!!! Smokey...with the pink edge, lots of it, reasonably priced...and truly delicious. WHY DIDN'T I GET THE HUSH PUPPIES!!!?? Or ribs...or anything else?!?!?! Next time, I will! It came with a generous amount of SC BBQ sauce... the mustard stuff. DEISH!! Side of coleslaw... was excellent as well...excellent. I also need to mention that service was wonderful and everyone was so nice....and the place is VERY clean. If you travel I-95 a lot like I do.... make this one of your stops. It's perfectly half way to the north....and well worth it. Can't wait to go back for some ribs!!!
(5)Paola C.
Good food but i wouldn't drive out of my my to eat here. It is right off I 95 on exit 21. Buffet is $8.99 for adults and $4.99 for kids and includes drinks. You can also order from menu but is all the same items. Friendly staff and over all a good place to stop and eat when on the road.
(3)E P.
Great food close to 95 everything was delicious. The waitress was super friendly too.
(5)Melanie W.
While the service was prompt and friendly the food fell short of the mark. The BBQ was either dry or sauced like wall paper paste. No smoke flavor was evident in any of their dishes. The highlight was solid fried chicken and good homemade coleslaw.
(1)Patricia M.
Hit the spot! Chicken, macaroni and cheese, pulled pork all delicious! Service excellent. Best banana pudding! I
(5)Monica K.
Wow, great food! We had the lunch buffet. The barbecue is delicious. The fried chicken is fabulous. The barbecue chicken melts in your mouth. I loved the hush puppies. Everyone loved the coleslaw. All four of us loved our food. The service is very very good. Very friendly people. The price is very reasonable. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Stopped in here for a quick lunch while road tripping and was happily surprised with the food. We ordered the buffet special which was recommended and got beans, fried okra, pork rinds, pulled pork, and some other classic southern bbq choices. All was yummy and the servers were as sweet as their iced tea. Pick this place over its fast food competitors!!
(4)Julie G.
We just left this restaurant. Two adults, 2 children, all had the lunch buffet which included every kind of Southern food you could possibly want. It was delicious! The smoked pulled pork, fried chicken, baked beans and homemade chips were our favorites. The kids really enjoyed the banana and chocolate puddings as well. The staff was also very friendly. Great place to stop not far from 95!
(5)Lisa L.
This place really hits the spot after driving on the I 95 for a whole day. I particularly enjoyed the mac and cheese and pulled pork. For just under ten dollars you get a complete meal including a delicious banana pudding! Open Thursday, Friday and Saturday only according to most Yelpers.
(5)Tracy B.
Looking for something other than a fast food chain, we found the BBQ Grill on Yelp and turned in. We were greeted by a super nice waitress and made our way to the buffet. So much food and so delicious! I am a pretty light eater and ended up with 2 plates filled. My girls loved everything but the Mac and cheese, pork and banana pudding were there favs. I loved everything I tried including the sweet potatoes, hush puppies, pork, okra, hash and beans. I love my drinks with crushed ice and this place made me very happy. Fyi: they are only open Thur, Fri & Sat We will return on our next road trip south!
(5)Alicia M.
Stopped here on our way to FL from OH. The food was amazing. We were a little unsure at first, I mean a buffet BBQ joint? It was the best BBQ!!!
(5)Joy S.
I was given a warm southern hospitality greeting to come on over and fill my plate at the buffet by Myra Simmons. Filling your plate is easy, finishing all you took is the hard part. Pulled pork, fried chicken, veggies, some southern items I didn't recognize, Mac and cheese and more. Myra wouldn't take payment until I had eaten and asked me what I wanted to drink. For a non table service place I got amazingly attentive service. I was told about their sauces and encouraged to go back for seconds. I decided to try banana pudding and their chocolate pudding; just the sweet needed to end a BBQ meal. Their employee Myra is really outstanding and makes a great meal that much nicer. Very basic set up in strip mall but very clean; give it a try when traveling 95 thru SC.
(5)Kyle G.
Brought nine scouts here after a 6-day camp out. Didn't look much from the outside, but it sure pleased the palette! Pulled pork was great--so were the sweet potatoes, Mac n cheese, beans, really everything! Would definitely stop again!
(5)John G.
I stopped here on my way north from Florida. It does not look like much from outside, so you might be tempted to pass on by and go to a place with a flash sign or a name that implies a nice view, don't make that mistake. The fantastic home cooked food in the place is the best anywhere. The buffet is loaded with all sorts of deep south cookin' from collards, to hash, mac and cheese and of course the delicious BBQ. All the sauces are home made and everything is nice and fresh. I have no idea how they make any money at this business. I expected to pay well more than $9.95 for the all you can eat buffet, and that even included a drink! It's close to I95 and well worth a slight detour just for the food and great home town service. It's not much to look at, but you will be well rewarded by the food.
(5)Shon I.
Food is good. Service was not that great at all really. Definitely recommend the pulled pork with their vinegar based sauce and some cole slaw. Together they are nearly the perfect BBQ trifecta.
(4)Catie B.
We came here when driving through the area due to the high ratings. The food was completely average in all respects. The service was very good and the staff were attentive- the food was good, but nothing to write home about. Average experience. Not sure why it gets the five stars, but we can't understand the hype about it...
(3)Sherry S.
We stopped here for lunch while traveling. The barbecue was great. We had a sandwich and 2 sides. The service was a little unusual but not bad. The servers (we had 2) kept trying to talk us into the buffet. Anyway wouldn't hesitate to stop here again.
(4)Lollie H.
Stopped on our way to florida! Staff very friendly and food was delicious. Hesitant to give 5 stars but for this type of good and atmosphere it's as good as it gets.
(5)Carolina G.
I cannot even give a star , the only star would be for the friendly staff that greeted us just wanting to stop in for a late afternoon sandwich , they guided us first to the buffet which was not quite fresh and all that great to the eye but my 13 year old son spotted the mac and cheese and thought it looked great so we decided to stay my daughter ordered a BBQ plate with two sides and we ordered two reg BBQ sand with one side of hush puppies , shortly after my son went through buffet the waitress was spotted to be making the BBQ plate for my daughter from the buffet , ok after quite a wait here comes the much anticipated hush puppies ! To my large disappointment the hush puppies were cold and so greasy .... They must have been cooked that morning ! After a much longer wait for the sandwiches to arrive I finally decided to head to cash out carry my hush puppies to the register and pay for what the kids were eating and ask for the cold hushpuppies to be removed as well as the undelivered food... Again the waitress goes to the kitchen. For quite awhile and heads out of kitchen with who appears to be the owner or manager with a pizza Bella shirt on ( which this restaurant is a few doors down) must assume he owns both places with no acknowledgement to me as he helps waitress to void transaction he lets me know if I would have wanted a made to order of hot hush puppies I should have said so ??? Really??? Wow the time it took for the cold ones I am not sure if the late afternoon would have then turned into the dinner hour, Then I can only assume he thinks I am a traveler from a far he quotes " down here we serve hush puppies as a side and not served hot" really.? I have news I am from North Carolina and I know how hush puppies should be served as well as , when I eat at dukes BBQ which is in the same town as he I receive hot hushpuppies !!! He then told me my sandwiches was ready in the kitchen he said " he tore those up and threw them away" I reminded him that they never left the kitchen so should not have. Been a waste to him , and he said if I was in a hurry I should not have came in ? Again really..? So when leaving the restaurant carrying what my daughter did not finish ( giving to my dog in the car ... Go figure she enjoyed , guess fit for a dog - this same manager happened to be watching us leave - I wonder did he want to see where I was from.? I am happy to let him know that I am a happy southern girl that loves Carolina BBQ and hushpuppies ! Just Not his for sure ! ?

We tried this place on our way back home after a NC trip and we are so happy our trip brought us to Ridgeville and the BBQ Grill. The BBQ was AWESOME! We got the buffet to go and were amazed at the amount of food that was included, three veges and two meat choices! The pulled pork was perfectly moist and delicious as was the roast chicken with homemade sauces that were the perfect mix of sweet and spicy. The collard greens were as good as it gets and the baked beans were exactly what they should be. Top this all off with a bit of peach cobbler and you have the perfect southern BBQ meal all for $8.95! Needless to say we will certainly be back when our travels take us through Ridgeland. In addition, my husband said we got some of the best service we have ever had from the sweet server who was certainly proud of the food and of the chef.
(5)Dana R.
Excellent food overall for a great price (under $10 a person). A must eat place off of I95. Homemade sauces were flavorful - dark sauce had a kick while yellow sauce was sweet. The fried chicken was freshly prepared and served hot. It was dredged with an array of spices that were still completely visible after being dropped into the fryer. Your mouth and stomach will appreciate it more than your eyes. The hickory smoked pulled pork was tender and not overdone. They served a good variety of sides. Would definitely eat here again.
