Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

My heat index for Mexican food is quite high after living in Arizona for 20 years so the heat index in my opinion is mild. That said, the food is fresh and tasty. The Cancun cheese steak burrito that my traveling companion had was very tasty, especially the grilled onions. I had the chicken burritos with guacamole and sour cream. Again flavorful. Chips and salsa were fresh. Personally I like thin chips so I liked their chips. Service was fast and the food came out hot and quick. Glad we had the chance to eat here while in Greenville! R

Driving from Charlotte to Atlanta can make your stomach grumbly. We stopped off at a random exit and looked around for a family-owned non-gross food place of any variety. It was really nice to sit down in a friendly atmosphere, packed full of happy locals on a Wednesday night, enjoying their meal. The staff was super accommodating. Told them we were vegan, and he said "so no cheese and no sour cream"? Props to that guy for knowing what we were talking about! The service was attentive, friendly and it felt really comfortable to sit down and stretch the legs here. The food was yummy, and definitely far superior to anything else we could have stopped off for... For only 11$ for the two of us! (We're not huge eaters, but I was pretty stuffed.) Delicious!

After multiple visits to the Cancun Mexican Restaurant, I unfortunately left with the same feeling each time. It's simply so-so. I usually pick between a handful of options each time I eat Mexican. Sadly, those options have been better at other places. The service was at least good each time I visited. Staff was always attentive and checked in on you in a timely manner. This is what help land a 3 star rating. Service, however, can only go so far.

If the meat was any worse, they could call the restaurant ALPO. I got the big combination plate thinking I was in for some variety but it was literally all the same ingredients rearranged in different tortilla configurations on two plates. The most bland food and the most uninteresting presentation I have ever experienced in a Mexican restaurant.

The owner, Elmer, is very nice! The food is amazing and very affordable. This is kind of the spot in Piedmont after games, school, after church, ETC. When I lived in Piedmont I would go at least 2-3 times a month!

Greet service, friendly people. Food came out fast and didn't taste like it came from a microwave (which it doesn't). Prices are good for the amount of food you get. The chips are free unlike few Mexican restaurants I've been to. They have sports on their tvs. Place is a little small but if you live close they have pick-up.

Visited yesterday, 30Aug15. The Cancun Steak Burrito, refried beans & rice were excellent. Service was not very good. Only 2 sets of silverware for a table of 3. Had to ask for additional silverware. Once we were served, the wait staff did not return to ask about refills on drinks or if we needed a to go box. Am told that the normal wait staff is top notch. Will try again, but may have to do so during the week to see if service is any better.

Place really not that good. If you want your food on a hot plate from being microwaved it will do but if you want authentic real Mexican food I would go elsewhere. I made two trips there in one trip my first and last. Will not go back.

Elmer and Jonathan are awesome owners. They know everyone that comes to join them for a meal. The food is made to order, fresh and not goopy. Great location near Hwy. I85 on Hwy. 81. You won't be disappointed, been going for almost 3 years.

Perhaps the worst Mexican meal of my life. These guys wouldn't know Mexican food if it hit them in the face. Unless you like tomato soup over cheese as an enchilada don't ever go there.
