We stayed here on our second trip to Myrtle Beach and I would stay here again. Check-in and check-out went smoothly. Staff was friendly. Parking was a little crazy, but that's to be expected at a place that attracts so many tourists. The hotel is located directly on the beach, so after getting to our room - which was a great size for the three of us and had an oceanfront view balcony - we changed into our swimsuits and hit the beach! After playing in the ocean for a bit, we walked back off to the hotel and showered the sand off of us before hopping in one of the pools. During our stay, we decided to eat dinner in the hotel restaurant. If I'm remembering correctly, it was called the Cabana Cafe. There was a guy in there singing and playing acoustic guitar while we were there. We were amused when he sang "Sex on Fire" by Kings of Leon in a restaurant full of families with children, lol. Awkward. ;-P I tried calamari here for the first time and found out that I like it! Good flavor and I adjusted to the texture, haha. The chicken caesar salad that I had for my main mean was also good and was served on a big, fish-shaped plate, which was fun. As I mentioned before, I loved the balcony facing the ocean. It was really relaxing sitting out there at night listening to the waves, feeling the wind. We even left the sliding door open a little to let the ocean wave sound into our room. We had a quick stay here, but it was really nice and I would come back. Good quality for the price.

We had a quick lunch and we're pleasantly surprised by the food at the outdoor cafe. It's a little pricier than we were planning but for the convenience and the quality we were more than satisfied. We ordered the fried scallop basket and the crab cake basket and shared them. The scallops were lightly breaded and not greasy at all. The crab cake was very good and better than the one we had at a local seafood favorite. It was more food than we could eat. Lichfield Inn is a rustic beach resort and they have a very cool outdoor set up for walk up off the beach meals. Definitely worth it.

Not thrilled...last minute extension of vacay, & this place was "solid" on hotels tonight. The room is totally weird & very dated, but really the clincher for me is that it smells of mold & mildew. It's full or I would have tried to get another room. People are friendly, we are right on the beach but leaving too soon to enjoy it. The housekeeping staff told me that each room is owned by different people....kind of blew my mind. So every room is different. I saw several others & they also smelled of mold & mildew. Price was pretty affordable but I hope we don't get sick.

Well, my only complaint on the stay-- (Litchfield Inn)--for anyone who may wish to venture here...is that the beds were ridiculously hard. Kids were happier on the floor. Up early to get long hot shower to loosen our sore, tired backs. On the plus side, we were able to get a room for five with a very short notice. The rooms were clean, but the air-conditioning was set to subzero when we entered. Tiny fridge, and microwave were just perfect. Coffee maker even better, but free decent sized Continental breakfast was outstanding! Not sure if it's 'a Friday nite thing' or an event I wasn't aware of, but there was an impressive fireworks show all up and the beach strip. This made my kids ecstatic to see fireworks explode at the height of our room. Even though, this mom was a little bit worried... It was still very very kool! LOVED how close we were to the beach. It was beautiful. Pools (kiddie 3ft & adult 3-8ft) were clean. The towel service made us happy. Kids were happy and that's always a plus. Negative: Was not impressed with the restaurant food. It was okay. Nothing wrong with it, but nothing terribly exciting either, and the prices were on the high side IMHO. Staff was great, though and helpful.

We love this place. It is the perfect combination of reasonable rates, friendly and safe environment, low-key, relaxed fun. Love the views, people, location, cafe. We definitely hope to be back. Yes, some of the rooms are a little dated, but who cares? We're here to relax, not go on a designer home tour.

Hello friends, I found out about this great place from a LivingSocial type deal. We arrived late in the evening. Walked into the lobby to check in and was greeted by a nice gentleman. We was able to snag a upgrade. Top floor. End room. Man that's what's up!! Once we entered the room I was very very surprised how big it was. I went directly to the window to see The View...3 words... A MAZ ING!! Nice 32inch tv, dining room table, couch, mini fridge, toaster oven, small sink. Bathroom was ok. Bed.... Well I guess that ok as well. Oh yeah I forgot to mention the Best thing... the View! There is a resultant in the premise that was actually on its own at another location at some point in time. I was told that the restaurant owner felt this would be an even better location. The Views are great. Seemed to be closed the entire week we was there. (Off season.... Don't get me started in that crazy concept. Like its a season to eat) It's a NoSmoking facility with one elevator and 2 or 3 ice machines that you MUST use your room key to use. The View. Just in case I forgot to mention it. I opened the window curtains befor going to sleep so I can rise up as the sun!! Greatttttttt I will check this place out again when I'm around... For sure. TTFN

This place was unbelievably disappointing. Don't expect your room to look anything like the website pictures. Our room was Very worn and tired looking. The carpet was so dirty with a lot of dirty spots so much so that I wore my shoes the whole time in the room. We had to ask for wash towels and hand towels in which there was a very slow response to our request. The "continental breakfast" was very sparse and with no real healthy options - they did have a bowl of canned peaches out. Come on folks - you are in South Carolina - there were fresh peaches being sold on most street corners, We gave it one star because of there view, however we will not return.

Favorite place to relax, recoup and refresh! The rooms in the tower and the dunes are better. If you don't like your accommodations, the staff is so helpful and willing to please if there is availability. The food, drinks and service in either restaurant are delish! I have not had a bad meal yet!

Complicated place. Some of the rooms might earn 3 stars, but the one they initially put us in (358) wasn't fit for a dog (dirty, smelly carpet, and mold growing on the furniture. Really). The staff was helpful and courteous, and moved us to a better room (116), but why did they stick us on that awful room to begin with? While the rooms have individual owners, and so vary in upkeep, the whole place is poorly maintained. It's a real crap-shoot if you book a room here.

Nice quiet beach location. But our "King Dunes Oceanfront Room" was dilapidated and very damp. (Room 122) The furnishing were old, drawers and doors didn't open and close. The carpet was old and wet, and the whole room smelled like mildew. The water dripped on my head from the screen porch directly above. The view of the ocean was obscured by a sand dune and trees. We paid top dollar for a dump.

Five stars for the view and location. The location keeps this place in business and is why we have returned several times. Don't plan on eating at either of the on-site restaurants as their hours, and their "season" vary. (When, I wonder, is not the season to eat?). Definitely do not plan on the continental breakfast, served "between 6:30 and 9:30" as it is pretty bad and will be gone by 8:30 because they just don't really plan on guests, other than kids who will eat anything, eating there. Rooms are all owned by different people so the decor and amenities vary... People just update when they want to. Quality of everything, including the beds, varies from room to room. Housekeeping also varies, although I think has gotten a bit better over recent years.....hard to blame them for the mold, which I have seen in a couple of rooms. The place is right on the ocean, so everything is weathered and... Salty. Always under some kind of construction early in the season. Somewhat of a gamble, but the oustanding beach is immediately accessible.

Location is great! It is right on the beach. We drove up from Columbia for a day trip and decided to stay for a couple of days. The facility is extremely clean. I ordered a scallops basket and was pleasant surprised at just how good they were. The beer was ice cold, served by a upbeat and nice server. We sat on the beach reading until the sun went down and it was too dark to read. It is a very relaxing location and I completely recommend it. However, for those of you that this matters, it is fairly dated in decor. The room we had was a single king with kitchenette. The sliding door was secured with a pole, as the door lock was missing. Did I mention clean? I was looking for dust and couldn't find it. We were allowed to look at the room before we committed and I decided that we would go with it. I wasn't disappointed. I recommend the Litchfield Inn. I will be back.
