Charming local place. Better then all the big box chains on the strip- we were pleasantly surprised ! Had the pork chops with Apple chutney grilled to perfection ! Husband had the prime rib which he said was very good and well cooked. Sat on a window overlooking the swamp and got to see some birds and greenery. Drinks were ok would recommend ordering a craft beer as we ordered martinis and I don't think it's much of a martini spot ! Hostess and staff very pleasant and accommodating. We bought a gift cert for my in laws to use when they are down here at their condo as they often can't find a good place for dinner other then the commercial restaurants which we can get at home and aren't all that great. Would def recommend as a good local spot with good entrees !

We came here in a round-about way after originally planning on eating at Drunken Jacks - but with a 3.5 hour wait, we reluctantly turned around. I'm glad the driver remembered this place because we were all quite pleased. Also - it's worth an extra star just for the fact that it's a local eatery, and in such a resorty place that is congested with chains, I loved that we had some food from a local chef. We started off with some appetizers and I had a delicious strawberry daiquiri. I would also recommend any of the seafood options. I had a stuffed trout and I absolutely loved it! The place is kind of pricey overall, which makes it less desirable as a large family option, but it's definitely worth a visit.

Went to Joe's Bar & Grill on Friday, July 4, 2014. Very good food. Had Mahi Mahi and Salmon, both were specials and were awesome. Two in my group had dinners from the Kid's Menu. Those dinners would feed most adults. Would go back as soon as possible. Service was excellent from Erin.

This place is great. This was my 3rd time coming here and it is really good. Conveniently located in North Myrtle Beach, Joe's Bar & Grill serves a variety of beef, veal, fresh seafood and poultry dishes of the highest quality in a casual atmosphere seven days a week.

This place was awesome! We found it by searching on Yelp....thank you Yelpers! It's as everyone described. It's off the main road, not in a touristy spot. As you pull up, it's a gray "shack" like place.....so misleading! You walk in and are greeted by many dead animals....Joe must love to hunt. We sat outside on the screened in patio. A great view of the marsh. It made you forget you were in a tourist town. We all had a different dish - low country shrimp, Neptune's filet, Snapper, pork chops. We loved it ALL. Would recommend you try the house specialties- like the low country shrimp, the pork chops and their Greek salad as your salad with dinner. Special recipes by Joe! The service was also amazing. We had a great time here on our vacation and would eat here every time we return.

It's Valentines Day... Had diner at Joe's Bar and Grill and it was delicious. I had the coconut encrusted grouper. The sauce was fabulous. Never disappointed here!!!

Food was great, service great and the atmosphere unbelievable. Out back the Raccoons crawl up a wooden home for them and feast on the bread patrons throw over. Neat stuff! Ps: The Prime Rib was awesome!

The best kept secret in myrtle beach ! The food and service is absolutely amazing. Order the prime rib or any of their daily specials, and you won't be disappointed. I've pretty much tried everything on their menu and can't say I've found something that I didn't like.

Could be considered a hidden treasure only because it's off the main streets but I'm guessing the locals know how good this place is. The name is somewhat misleading ......this is more a nice restaurant than a sandwich and beer type establishment. The food was excellent, the service was outstanding and the decor is classy without being stuffy. Will definitely go back again....this year and when we return again next year.

Although I constantly Yelp to find new restaurants, I rarely post reviews. After eating at Joe's Bar & Grill I had to post this review. AMAZING! First I will tell you that I'm a restaurant snob. My wife and I worked our way through college and grad school in restaurants We know great food and great service. Forget about corporate restaurants. Go to Joes! Best steak I have ever had!!! The au poivre sauce was to die for! If you have eaten at any of the famous Chicago steak houses like Gibsons you won't after eating at Joes My wife who usually orders fish ordered a steak and couldn't stop talking about it as well. The deserts are also outstanding I couldn't wait to eat leftovers the next day. Go to joes. You will be amazed at what a real restaurant should be! Great staff. Fun place to eat. Will be back as soon as possible

Went to Joe's tonight. I asked for a rare prime rib but it came back medium rare and cold without the best part of prime rib which is the au jus. The potatoes were warm and the green bean mixture was very over cooked. My wife ordered filet Neptune medium. Her filet was more rare than my prime rib. The waiter ignored her response that it was rare. I finally commented to the waiter who took her cut up filet and nuked it. Her shrimp was unseasoned and cold. She stated the scallops were at least cleaned. The waiter we had was not very personable except when he wanted to be a smart ass. I have visited this restaurant every year that I have been on vacation here but I will never eat here again

We decided to give this place a try after reading all the great reviews. Arrived with the wife and kids without having a reservation and we were seated in an elevated table next to the bar. Not ideal but at least we didn't have to wait. Let me start by saying that our server was great. He really knew the menu and was super nice. For an appetizer we ordered the sampler, which tasted OK but was tiny. Usually when I order a sampler I expect fairly large portions. For my entree I had the prime rib medium rare and it was cooked perfectly. The quality of the beef was top notch and not too fatty. My wife ordered the Mahi Mahi and enjoyed it. While we both enjoyed our food, neither of us was blown away. Overall this place is a solid choice for dinner but it could be that we just ordered the wrong items.

If your looking for a place with great food an a huge selection and friendly people, go to Joe's Bar in Grill. Went for Dinner with 4 adults and 7 kids ages 7-15 on a Sat with Reservations. We sat on the deck and it was lovely, we all loved watching the Raccoons being fed. The waiter was great and attentive and the food absolutely perfect. The kids loved their food, much better then the typical kids menu! The menu is huge and I could not narrow it down so I had the triple play, crab cake, rib eye, and shrimp delicious!!! The soup was excellent! Everyone at the table loved what they ordered, which is hard to do with this group! Every time I've come down to NMB I try to stop in and each time it has been a great experience. The outside bar was nice too but being such a large group with children we didn't linger. Oh and the Janine at the Bar was so kind to the kids! Great place!

I ordered an appetizer as my meal that included caviar. I had never tried caviar. I did not receive any caviar. I asked, the owner checked with the kitchen and said they had not had caviar for 3 weeks. I explained that the caviar was the reason for my order. The owner said well your next beer is on me. I was shocked. I did not protest because I was with a group that already had their food. When we received our bill I was charged $1 more than the menu price and credited one beer. Will never return.

Nice atmosphere with very good steaks and seafood. Outside seating area is enclosed and nice view of the marsh lands. Prices are normal for similar restaurants in the area. We will be back next year!

There are two listings for this place on yelp Very good food, not terribly ambitious...but good. Nice and engaging staff....outdoor area overlooking the marsh is very nice...with a well used real wood fireplace...outdoor bar with TV...tables...and visits from friendly raccoon and alligators ! ...a bit tough to find...basically go east at the intersection where the alabama theater sign is...first left..go past Hamburger Joe's (which is also quite decetnt)

So, we have been wallowing our sorrows away in Myrtle Beach for the past twenty some years for vacation, and tend to flock to the familiar. This year and last we have branched out to try new things. Of ALL places we have tried, this has been the most satisfying experience our un-sunned little bodies have been to. There are essentially three places you can eat, in the main dining room which is pretty nice, though rustic. The entrance is teeming with taxidermy, but not in a creepy way, the dining room has tablecloths and linen napkins... the next room is a screened in porch that they enclose during winter, and lastly an outdoor area with a bar, SO nice. There is not really anything around the restaurant and it juts on the marsh, the best view is from the deck, which is small, but a really nice setting. The atmosphere is kind of like a hunting lodge / clubhouse feel, casual, somewhat refined, yet relaxed. Our server was superb, the busboy was potentially the most energetic and eager I have ever seen, flying around filling water and flipping tables. Then the food... AHHH. The menu features hand-cut in house steaks, fresh fish and seafood. All of the dishes looked excellent, we tried four different entrees and we were all sufficiently sated, to say the least. Fun appetizers such as escargot, Scallops en Bacon Brochette, etc. I am kind of falling asleep and cannot think, BUT the point is, if you have not tried this restaurant, go immediately. Call, make a reservation, try new things, pair it with wine, (their list is pretty decent. Not a massive book, but almost all of the options are good choices. Vouvray by the glass?! YES PLEASE only $7!) and have a good time. My bet is you will wish to go back. We certainly will. Tell your friends!

So excellent! Yelp helped me find this so I am repaying the favor. Off the beaten path - barely. Right across from Barefoot Landing behind Olive Garden. I am VERY picky and this place was fantastic!! Tried my first shrimp & grits and it was delicious. Steaks seafood salads...satisfied our whole group. The energetic busboy is still here!! I read him a review that mentioned him. He stood still for 20 seconds to listen to me! Matt our waiter was professional and nice. Overall great experience. Beautiful view out the back at the marsh. Nice escape from the strip.

I had the Filet Neptune: Tender steak medallions topped w/crabmeat, shrimp, scallops & bernaise. Good service, good atmosphere, and good food. Reasonably priced. I'd definitely go back!

We had a great meal at Joe's on a recent trip to Myrtle Beach. We sat on the outdoor patio and had great entertainment from the raccoons who were walking up the raccoon bridge that they have set up outside to get the bread that they put out for them. They had a nice selection of reasonably priced wines and the food was excellent. 3 of the 4 of us had one of their seafood specials and my DH had a steak. All of our entrees were very well prepared and were reasonably priced. We were so happy to find this place as there don't seem to be too many good restaurants in Myrtle. We will definitely go back!

I came here with my girlfriend's family who loves this place. My girlfriend is vegan and I don't eat steak too often. And when I do, I'm not a huge fan of heavy sauces (like bernaise). We got a few appetizers for the table. The mushrooms stuffed with crab was ok. The marinated portabella had a very nice flavor. Nothing on the menu jumped out to me, so I got the caesar salad with chicken. I should have asked for dressing on the side because the salad was soaked in dressing. I had to stop a quarter of the way in. My girlfriend ordered the greek salad with dressing on the side. The waiter brought dressing on the side but the salad was covered in dressing already. We had to catch a flight so we didn't have the opportunity to send it back. Also the service overall was pretty slow. We gave ourselves plenty of time before our flight but we had to rush to get out of the restaurant.

The food was great. The service was a problem. Our waiter rolled his eyes any time we made a request, and seemed impatient with us at all times. When my chops came out overdone, I sent them back. More eye rolling. I asked for them medium rare and this time, they came back barely cooked. Our waiter threw them down and ran off without having me check and disappeared for 10 minutes. Could have been a great experience but the service turned it into an expensive mediocre one. Won't be back. :(

Joe's was recommended to us by Bob of Holiday Taxi, and we were not disappointed. The steaks were thick and well prepared. The appetizers were tasty and well priced. Nothing is adventurous, but everything is well- done. The wine and beer came from a wide selection and were affordable. The service was fast, friendly and helpful. Expect a 25$ steak, 10$ dollar app( or a better priced tray), 4$ beers, 25-35$ bottles of wine. The only downside to Joe's is that it does not "pop out" from the road, and most people cruising to find a place to eat might miss this "can't miss it" spot. It's a must try. Just ask the locals.

If you're in the mood for a good steak, this is your place. Otherwise, don't bother. My husband ordered the NY Strip with mushrooms, and it was a delight. I made the mistake of ordering the Seafood Medley. Not only was it drowning in at least a stick of melted butter, but it was also undercooked (raw shrimp and scallops). This is not a place you want to go if you're pressed for time. Our experience took almost two hours. On a positive note, the crab stuffed mushroom appetizer was tasty.

Oh man, what a hidden gem. This place is incredibly hard to find as it is tucked away behind the Olive Garden with no signs on the road, so if you don't know it's there you won't find it. We came here after hearing tons of great things from neighbors and co-workers in the area. A while ago I asked the Yelp community where the best place to get a steak in MB was, and after eating here I have officially answered my own question. First and foremost, don't let the place scare you off. It's dark and secluded, and the ambiance is that of a hunter's lodge with a ton of taxidermy animals being used as decor. If the dead animals don't freak you out, the live ones might! If you opt to set in their heated patio/outdoor area, you will be in the front row of a live raccoon feeding show. The employees have set up an outdoor platform where they feed the local raccoon (and feral cat) population, so as you eat dinner you can watch the wildlife eat their dinner. I'm sure some people might get grossed out at watching animals eat while they eat, but if can come to terms with how cute raccoons are then you are in for a treat. Now enough about the atmosphere...onto the grub! You start off with some simple crackers served with butter and some cheese spread that's made in house. You can typically eat this while you are pondering on what to order from the menu. Then after ordering the server brings out the fresh bread with was pretty tasty. Between the crackers and bread we found no reason to order an appetizer, but don't let my personal choice hold you back. For dinner I ordered the prime rib ($16.95), and it was simply awe-inspiring. The cut of meat was excellent, and it was cooked perfectly. Oh, and if you order prime rib ANYWHERE and ask for it to be cooked at anything less than medium rare, you are killing your steak and wasting your money! Back to my steak; it was incredibly tender and flavorful, and the rice was pretty good as well. I would normally have ordered the red potatoes with it, but the neighbors had recommended to avoid them, so I can't vouch for it. My wife ordered the scallops meunere ($18.95) and they were some flawless-cooked scallops if I do say so myself. Between the crackers, bread and entrees there was no way we had room for dessert (changes nightly) though we were tempted to try it. The food was delicious, the service was perfectly paced, the atmosphere was unique and the server was warm and friendly...all these factors add up to one heck of a dining experience. If you're hankering for a steak I can tell you that the best thing you can do is eat at Joes.

We got a tip a few years ago that this place existed. Its a local's secret. The food was very good. I got the Prime Rib and was not disappointed. If you sit outside in the enclosed patio you can watch raccoon feed on bread outside of the window. My daughter got a kick out of it. Very friendly service. Its on our list to dine at during our yearly vacations to Myrtle Beach.

Tried it because of yelpers, not that casual and pricey (should be $$$). Good atmosphere on the screened in porch, great service, nice place, food was ok kinda bland.

Jim and I went here last night while on vacation. This was by far the best place we have been so far in Myrtle Beach. Great food, excellent service from our waiter Dan, who continued to make great recommendations from the bottle of wine to visiting the back porch after dinner. Jim really enjoyed his prime rib, which was perfectly prepared. He also ordered a side of the mushrooms that normally come with the strip, as he had been having trouble deciding what to order. They were delicious! I had the Mahi Neptune that included crab, shrimp, scallops and bernaise sauce. It was very good. We also started with the spicy mussels app, which was fantastic! Portions were generous, service was attentive, food was well prepared. My only complaint would be that the food was slightly over seasoned, but I am accustomed to a bit less salt than most. We will definitely be sure to come back to Joes next time we are in Myrtle Beach. Be sure to visit the raccoon run when you go!

We called last minute and got a reservation right away. When we arrived we were promptly seated. That's about as good as it got for our dining experience here. My southern trout was swimming in a bland cream sauce. My husbands veal Parmesan was eh. Vegetables were mushy and unseasoned. Our martinis took quite a long time, probably 15 minutes. Our waiter was just strange. My favorite thing about the meal was the crackers and cream cheese spread they have as soon as you sit down. Overall, not worth the money we spent for what we thought was going to be a nice evening out.

This is our third year in a row we have come to this area at Myrtle Beach. Every time we have made multiple visits to Joe's. Food, service and atmosphere can't be beat elsewhere. I love the real wood burning fireplaces (inside and out). I also love watching the raccoons . We are going again tonight for our third time this week.

Party of five - we had several of the sea food specials. Food was ok but not worth the price. Side dishes and salads were fast food quality. Was much better years ago

This place is slowly loosing its luster. We have been eating there for at least 15 years now. They still don't even know us and we make it a point to be friendly. There is one lady there and not sure if she is the owner but is just plain arrogant!. In business you can't afford to be that way. It is unfortunate to talk about the atmosphere more than the food or the service but if you go there you will soon feel it. This not a place that wants to know you or care if you come. The food is good and the service is good. You can watch the birds eat bread off the porch but really??? Thats is supposed to make up for the people there. Sorry it just doesn't. They need a course in "How to Winn Friends and Influence People".

We ate there on June 25th, 2013 and both the service and food were excellent. Parking was a bit of a mess as there are few spots in front of the restaurant, and the area is shared with Joe's Hamburger restaurant.. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. Our group order steaks and seafood and all entrees were excellent.

Norman M.
Friends who live nearby recommended this. From the outside, it looks like "just another beach burger joint" . But don't be fooled by this. The Mahi topped with crab, scallops, and shrimp might be as good as I have eaten anywhere. Service was impeccable as well. My friends who ate steaks raved over them. Hidden behind the Olive Garden, it is worth searching out. I have probably eaten at as many different places in M Beach as anyone, and in my opinion these guys are the best.

fantastic all around. loved the wine selection. i had the NY strip with teyaki mushrooms. my steak was perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked to a perfect med rare as i had ordered. high quality beef. the server great... very knowledgeable and friendly . i was amazed to find such incredible food and service with such a fun and laid back atmosphere.

Joe's is tucked behind the Olive Garden off the main drag in North Myrtle across from barefoot landing. The atmosphere is cozy, you feel like some crazy hunter invited you into their house for dinner. Really there are dead things hanging on the wall all over this place, so if you are not a fan of taxidermy stay away...if you don't mind moose, deer, and other forest animals staring at you, then you will be very pleasantly surprised by simply fantastic food. They have a decent micro brew bottle selection, and a good size wine list, as well as a full bar. The steak is just one of the best I have had, and I have had steaks from all the top places, it is very good. One of the most surprisingly good things were the green beans, they are in a sweet tomato sauce and they are tasty. The pricing is a little less than a Ruths Chris or Mortons but is not outback pricing. Definitely worth visiting again.

Poor service. Waiting 25 minutes for waiter Gary to take order. He waited on table beside us first. They sat down after us but apparently he was a frequent diner. We're locals. Food was good but it ruined my husbands birthday dinner. Never going back. We started to get up and leave. They put us near kitchen when they had plenty of vacant tables. Not that busy. It is more for the 65+ and over club. We are in our 50's and we were the youngest customers in there. Zero parking. We lucked out and someone was leaving. A few years back, this was one of our favorite special occasion places to go. No more. We should have went to Chestnut Hill, Brentwood, or Clark's.

I had a very small wedding reception at Joe's on May 20th, 2011 and they were WONDERFUL!! The food was absolutely incredible, the portions were large, and the price was extremely affordable for us to host 35 people at this restuarant after our beach wedding ceremony! The service was by far the best I have ever received- right down to the owner "Joey" who help me set everything up via phone from 5 states away!! The wait staff was the best!! Percy was our favorite waiter! The atmosphere at the restuarant was very relaxed and we loved watching the racoons walk across the marsh behind the restaurant! My husband and I have decided to go to Joe's during our annual trip to Myrtle Beach- we will make it a point to go there every year!! They made our special day - "special" and ALL of our guests we impressed with the restaurant!! Kudos to "Joey" and the staff @ Joe's Bar & Grill! I will forever be an advocate of your restaurant!!

We have eaten at Joe's both times we've been in Myrtle Beach. Both times the food was excellent and the service was great. The staff is friendly, and the service is fast. I had a delicious teriyaki NYStrip with portabello mushrooms and had plenty left over. If we ever come back to MB, we will definitely eat at Joe's.

The only thing keeping us from giving this restaurant five stars is the haughty attitude of the waiter and the lousy Martinis. The young man that waited on us was condescending from hello.Could it have been our Boston accent ? We ordered cocktails and appetizers. The martini was in a standard martini glass BUT only half full. The greek salad was not what we are used to coming from a city with a large Greek population, the escargot were very good. The entrees were excellent, lamb chops, very flavorful and cooked exactly as ordered, the chicken parmesan, huge, flavorful and fork tender, the Filet was very flavorful,Prime Rib was delicious and the steak topped with scallops, shrimp and bernaise sauce was also delicious. They serve a wild rice that was very flavorful and vegetable medley that was fresh and sauteed perfectly. We were told about this place from a local bartender and she was correct. This was the best steak from a local, not chain, restaurant in North Myrtle Beach.

Queenie B.
Came here based on the reviews and was not impressed. Food was mediocre and did not justify the Houston's level prices. Being from the Delmarva area, I wasn't expecting the best crab cakes but make it decent. The crab cakes were salty and the meat probably came from an anemic crab. Steak was average. Everything was just average. The attempt at a rustic hunting lodge just didn't work. It felt like a Bass Pro Shop (no offense to BPS, love the place. I just don't want to eat in hunting section of one).

Went there tonight with my family. The service was great; all the staff were incredibly hospitable. We couldn't have asked for more. The food was delicious and the price point accurate for the quality. I would recommend Joe's to any and all and return again on another visit.

Great food and great atmosphere. A nice restaurant but fairly laid back. Sit on the porch if you can and watch the raccoons.

What a great find! If you go and it's nice out ask to sit on the screened in porch, it overlooks the marsh and is just so serene. The food was great as well. We ordered the grouper and the salmon special, both were superb. Service was excellent and you couldn't beat the ambience of the screened in porch. Another neat thing, they have built a bridge and perch behind the restaurant of which you can see from the outside bar and the screened in porch. They put bread out there and feed the birds and raccoons!! It was a really neat thing and something kids would for sure enjoy. We loved this place so much we went twice in one week during our trip to NMB. Second trip our table ordered the prime rib which was superb and the chicken parmesan which was okay, nothing spectacular. If you are not a fan of chains nor tourist traps try this place!

My family and I have been coming down to Myrtle Beach for the past couple of years now. We make it a point to stop in Joes at least once every trip. The food is amazing. I am personally not a huge seafood eater - but I know my family goes on about the clams and the crab cakes. My sister doesn't even look at the menu anymore she basically just orders the crab cakes every year. I also get a steak which is always amazing. Not only is the food amazing - but the staff is amazing. They are the most welcoming people in the world and genuinely make you feel like family from the moment you walk in. The raccoons outside are also the cutest thing in the world and the kids adore them!

Waitress was nice, atmosphere is like an old lodge. Warm and cozy with a great view. A bit more upscale but not stuffy. They also have an outside bar that overlooks a waterway and has an outdoor fireplace, so pretty. Food was decent. Hubby and I ordered prime rib he adored it, it was good, I liked it. I don't eat it too much though so maybe that is why i didn't think it was to die for. Kids loved their meals and loved watching the raccoons. Fresh bread was served and the menu has a lot of options. Lots of items had sauces etc in the ingredients but you could easily get it on the side. We are on the screened in porch and it was a great location and very comfortable. Service was prompt. Pricing is fair but a bit on the higher end of the 2 $$. We would absolutely go back in the future. If we didn't have children I would have sat outside with my hubby and enjoyed the views at the bar. It was not busy or 'bar like' just a great place to grab a drink and relax.

Delicious food, cozy upscale atmosphere reminiscent of a cozy hunting lodge. (Having said that, you would need to be comfortable with mounted ducks and deer heads.) Our waiter, Kevin, was knowledgable, friendly, attentive... all-around wonderful server. (Underline that "wonderful") The water server, Elder... also wonderful. I take a leap here, but these guys seemed to enjoy their jobs, working for this restaurant and meeting the people they are serving. Of the 6 restaurants we've dined at this vacation, this has far and away been our all-around best experience. Thank you Kevin, Elder, the chef & kitchen staff!!

Well, it started with a plate of crackers and veggie cream cheese while we were looking at the menu. Umm. Yeah, this is awesome :) Small house salad with homemade ranch is yummy. Hot bread and butter. Yes, give me more! Bacon wrapped scallops appetizer is pretty good. Have seen bigger scallops, but still very tasty. Thai ribs appetizer was delicious. Not exactly "Thai", but still amazing. Prime Rib. Just do it. Filet Neptune. Filet mignon topped with lump crap, scallop, and shrimp. So good. Tommy, our server, was great. Attentive, funny, and not overwhelming. When I asked for the Bernaise sauce on the side, he told me it's good and to just eat it the way it comes. I loved his confidence in the dish and took his advice. So glad I did. Didn't have room for dessert, but will be back for sure. Best dinner at MB. Ever.

Make reservations. We tried to go without and the host seemed immediately irritated. He claimed a 2 hour wait even though there was literally no one else in sight waiting and several open tables. I understand there may have been things going on beyond what I could see, but he could have at least been halfway friendly. We went because the reviews were so good and probably would have stayed otherwise.

Delicious!!! Best meal we had all week in Myrtle Beach. The Thai ribs appetizer was amazing. We sat outside in the screened in porch area, and got to watch the raccoons. The kids loved it :)

Was told about this place on the golf course. Service was good, prompt, knowledgeable about the product, efficient. Had crab cakes- which were made entirely of crab, no noticeable fillers. Salad was very colorful. Steak was thick, well prepared. Atmosphere was very nice. There is a room that overlooks a marsh that is nice and tranquil. There is an outdoor bar area that I did not get a great look at, but seemed fun from my perspective. Prices were as expected for the quality delivered, but not too high. I will visit again when in MB

Stopped in here for dinner. Got there early so we were there for Happy Hour and the early bird menu. I got the Prime Rib and my husband got the shrimp and grits. Prime Rib was really good and it came with salad, potatoes and green beans. The green beans are a specialty of the house but I woul rather not have them cooked until they are like mush. Shrimp and grits were really good. Sat at the bar and had a great conversation with the other folks sitting there and the bartender. If you sit at the outside bar, you can hang with Daisy the dog and watch the raccoons. This place is definitely worth a stop if you are in North Myrtle Beach. Beats all the chain restaurants in the area and the food is really good.

One of the best meals I've had in a long time. I had Mahi Neptune. My husband had salmon. Waiter was excellent.

Great casual dining and after dinner hangout. Surf or turf, it's all original and delicious. Steak, prime rib, grilled fish, shrimp, or shrimp and grits...you want be disappointed. The sunset and fire place are a nice cosy place to relax after dinner. Ask for Jay...he's the best...yes they take reservations.

Our whole family loved our meal and experience here. It was a bit more posh than we would normally take our 6-year old and 21-month old to but my gosh the meals were good. The service was excellent, unpretentious and professional. We almost accidentally pulled in to another place called 'Joes' that is in front of Joes Bar, it may be good too but don't be confused.

Nice spot to have a solid steak, or piece of fish. Drinks are well made and the service is friendly, but a little slow. Overall really good, not quite enough for a 5 star, but I would never complain about eating at Joe's. I would definitely recommend eating outside.

Joe's is always a treat when we come to the beach! Everything is always wonderful. The spicy seafood soup is SPICY but so good! We normally split a cup of the soap and that's enough spice for the two of us. All the appetizers are good we have had almost all of them! If you want a good mixed drink Jeanine at the bar makes the best! Joe is always in the kitchen cooking and all the entrees we have ever had have been great! The triple play is very yummy the wali wali salmon which was on special was also wonderful! All entrees come with veggies and a salad which can be substituted for a bowl of the spicy soup which we normally do one of us gets the soup and one gets the salad. All the desserts are you guessed it yummy! The cheesecake, cobbler, chocolate mousse cake all are wonderful and big enough to split! I suggest making reservations because they will always give you a better table and you might want to mention you want to sit on the screened in porch so you can watch the raccoons that come in to eat the leftover bread each night!

A gem of a restaurant that we found on our first night in Myrtle Beach. It's a wonderful, friendly, local restaurant. We sat out back and the view was beautiful. The food was great and the service excellent. We met many "locals" at the restaurant which was a good sign. Crab cakes & shrimp and grits were amazing!we will definitely visit and would recommend wholeheartedly!

We were excited by all the positive reviews for this restaurant, but sadly, the experience we had was far below par. The good first: seafood chowder, bread, and salads were all excellent. It went downhill from there. The entrees were overall unexceptional. If the meals cost $15 instead of close to $30, I might not have been as disappointed. The scallops on the neptune dishes were rubbery and the bernaise sauce - well we could not find it. My daughter had pieces of crabshell on her neptune meal. Every fish meal comes with a bland rice/orzo mix (to me, similar to a boxed rice mix but without the seasoning) and equally bland mixed veggies. I was allergic to corn, which was in the veggies but no substitute available unless you pay extra for the asparagus. I ordered the asparagus but it was never delivered. And let's talk ambiance: no or little A/C and the ceiling fans don't do the job. Overcrowded and so noisy you have to scream to be heard. A noisy child (sounded like a nonstop horn blaring) and her wild antics completely destroyed the experience of all surrounding tables, and parents were never asked to calm her down. When we paid, they "did not recognize" the discount card we had purchased, in spite of the fact that the owner himself registered the restaurant with the charity group. They at first offered 10%, but we had to insist it was 20%, which they did eventually honor. All in all we will not be visiting Joe's again. Oh, and a warning for animal lovers, the place is filled with hunting trophies of all kinds. Many heads on the wall and trophy pics of big game kills (like a bear for ex.)

Great food, and a very warm environment. Don't let the taxidermy scare you: this is a great spot. We were told the steak with mushrooms is the best on the menu, but we were in a seafood mood. I sampled the carolina clams, the crabmeat stuffed mushrooms and the.seafood sampler, all of which were great. They definitely have the scampi sauce down, and a varied wine selection. Don't forget to say hi to the raccoons!

We eat at Joe's Bar and Grill every time we are in Myrtle Beach. We think they have the best food in the area...period. We are never disappointed in our food or superior service. The steaks are always tender and perfectly cooked, and the seafood tastes fresh and delectable. I would have given Joe's 5 stars, but when we were there recently, through no fault of there own, we six were seated next to a very large table of adults and small children who were so obnoxiously loud that it was literally hard to have a conversation. They had been waiting for a while so we speculated there was a fair amount of alcohol consumed. The restaurant was busy, so there was no option of being reseated. You might want to specify a "quiet" table.

We had a great time here. The food was really good. My husband got a steak and said it was the best one he has had in a long time. I got the shrimp and grits and it was amazing, a little oily but still really great. I would certainly come back again.

Sat our party of 8 promptly. Everything was delicious. Steaks were cooked to perfection. Fish selection was good. Great atmosphere for an upscale classy environment. Kids menu included 6oz. Prime rib.

This is one of my favorite places in myrtle beach! I make it a point to come here every year. Love the casual ambiance, especially the screened in porch area overlooking a nature preserve (a glade). We had the escargot appetizer, excellent but would have a preferred a little more balance between the escargot and the mushrooms. The crab stuffed mushrooms were heaven and we devoured them before I could even get a picture of the plate. Five PLUS stars on that one. Tyler had the shrimp Alfredo with linguini, a hardy portion he didn't quite finish... But loved it so much he asked for a take home container which he rarely ever does... I have the special, a blackened mahi with scallops mushrooms and crab topping and drizzled with a sauce that was delicious but not sure what it was lol. The only downside on this trip was the vegetables were massacred, cooked nearly to mush. The brown long grained rice on my dish was perfect. Sooooo I won't ding them a star for the overlooked veggies... This time... If they repeat it I will for sure. Veggies should be tender but still firm. Cooking 101 that even a steam fresh microwave bag can't screw up!

Great food at responsible prices. The filet was amazing and the chocolate marble cheesecake is really good. Sit on the porch and you can also get a great show watching the raccoons.

Great place to sit back and enjoy a meal. We like the back porch. Casual but very good food. Seafood specials and steak were the order of the day.

When we checked in they put us at a table with a blower underneath the table which made it super cold. When I told them about this they decided they were going to put a menu over the hole so it wasn't blowing on us. I was not going to except that so I insisted that they move us. I ordered steak and lobster, my lobster came over cook and my steak came out undercooked, they replaced them and it wasn't much difference. My husband order steak and lobster, same with his plate, and then my son ordered shrimp scampi and the noodles were overcooked but the shrimp was good. Service was slow and food marginal. We will never go back.

We have been to Joe's three times so far on our vacation at North Myrtle. The food is fabulous and we could find something we love every night. The best attraction however is at the bar with the FABULOUS bartender, Janine! It is worth coming to sit at the bar and enjoy her service, recommendations and delightful personality. That is really why we keep going back, our favorite for sure!

Finally a place our dinner was worth the 5 stars. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and food coojed to perfection. Our complements to Chef. Filet minion was to die for and melting in your mouth. Cooked to perfection. .... My Shrimp Loui was delishous...garlic white wine sauce on rice and green beens. Yummm. Even salads were perfect. The kid didnt complain about his hot dog ether. Lol I didnt have any room left for sweet ending, but the list was mouth wattering....definitely next time...like tonight again.

I had a poor experience at Joe's last night. I've been to Joe's many times and I will return in the future, but last night was not a good night. I took my daughter and her date to the restaurant for a 6:30 reservation. We were promptly seated upstairs at a corner table by the window; it was a pretty tight fit. Everything was fine for the first 10 minutes until the baby at the next table started crying. This issue continued for 20 minutes or so until the dad finally took the infant outside. I'll never understand why it took that long to reach that decision. I ordered the Triple Play which is a crab cake, blackened shrimp and a 12 oz. ribeye that was ordered medium rare. The ribeye arrived and was medium well to well done; there was no pink to be seen. I called this to the waitress's attention and she offered to prepare another steak. At that point I did not want another steak for two reasons. 1.) The time it would take to prepare and 2.) The amount of food on my plate was easily sufficient. Had I ordered only a steak, I would have taken the replacement. The waitress summoned the manager and he came to the table and asked what I would like them to do. I suggested that he adjust the bill and take the steak off of it. He countered with a free dessert offer, to which I said no as only my daughter was interested in dessert and again asked for an adjustment to the bill. He agreed and said he would throw in the dessert. Subsequently the bill came and there was no adjustment for the steak, so I waited to gain the waitress's attention to ask her about it. She said she thought the free dessert was agreed on as compensation for the steak. All three of us chimed in near unison that was not the case. Not in a nasty way, but possibly with a bit of frustration that an overcooked steak was causing this much hassle. In any case she took care of it quickly and we settled the bill. So, I was not really unhappy about the treatment I received by management and staff, as I said, I'll return because last night was more of an aberration in my mind. Still, last night was a disaster and I felt compelled to get it off my chest and perhaps offer a suggestion or two. The waitress and manager both seemed eager to rectify the mistake, yet I essentially needed to ask three times to have it taken care of. I would have preferred the manager make a generous, but fair, offer instead of "asking" me what I want. Then there is the crying baby issue. I love babies, but not babies that are screaming five feet away from me in a restaurant. We received the short straw when we were seated, I guess. C'mon Joe's!

My wife and I chose to dine at Joe's on a Wednesday evening (May 13, 2015) based on Yelp reviews. We were not disappointed!! Sat on the screened porch overlooking the marsh at sunset with perfect evening weather. Wonderful environment for an evening dinner with my wife as we were finishing our time away at Myrtle Beach. Our server Kramer did an excellent job welcoming us and serving us for the evening. Attentive, knowledgeable, but not intrusive. The food... Oh the FOOD!!! My wife had the seafood medley and I hade the Triple Play with 12 oz. ribeye (med rare), crab cake and Cajun shrimp. Steak cooked like it's supposed to be with nice crisp sear on the outside and inside juicy and red to pink... Totally delicious!!! We were both very pleased. Sides of potatoes and mixed veggies also very good and good portions. There's a really cool deck bar and sitting area just outside the porch that is wonderful also. We will definitely return whenever we're at Myrtle Beach and encourage all others to do the same!!! Thanks Kramer and all others at Joe's Bar & Grill for a delightful evening out!!

This was my best meal in North Myrtle Beach. Upon arrival, we were greeted with smiling faces and were seated immediately. I wasn't really into the raccoon scene in the back room, so I asked to be re-seated in the air conditioned dining room. Somebody was feeding the animals bread, which is cool if you like seeing a raccoon feeding up close...but being from the city, I was kinda creeped out. I ended up ordering the ribeye, shrimp and crabcake combo. I really wanted filet mignon, but I just couldn't pass up tasting multiple items from the menu. This came with 2 sides. This was a lot of food. The steak was 12 ounces, and I typically only eat 6. My sister and I could have shared this entree, but I have a problem paying a $7 sharing fee. My steak was prepared perfectly and the crabcake, while not lump crabmeat, was a nice compliment on top. Some people might think that the food is expensive, but I would disagree with that. You can always go to one of the many buffets Myrtle Beach has to offer, but you will get quality when you visit Joe's. Its the difference between going to a restaurant with a chef as opposed to a hired cook. Both can be good, but I prefer the chef when I want a fine dining experience. 4.3 Stars!

We came in for a nice little dinner and got that plus a show from a very large family of raccoons. The mahi mahi special with shrimp, scallops and crabmeat was delicious and the shrimp & grits exceeded the expectations by far. We will most likely be coming back to this place before our trip is over. Keep up the great work Joes.

Such a great place! Although it does depend on whether the owner is in... when he is, things always run smoothly and when he isn't there are sometimes some hiccups. However, the service is always amazing. The food is also very well priced... especially since they let me order the children's prime rib even though i'm 21 because it's the perfect amount of food. Lots of the other reviewers say they cook their vegetables too long, but I absolutely love them! The green beans and tomatoes are so sweet and delicious, but it's a matter of taste! Their specials are always delicious- pecan incrusted trout or something i've had a couple times and recommend, as well as their mexican-eque crab cakes! Only thing I don't recommend is the soup because it's incredibly spicy, and that is coming from someone who likes spice! The ambiance is amazing- there is a really cool deck with lights around huge trees growing through the deck, a huge fireplace, a bar, and adorable raccoons walking across a drawbridge. I definitely recommend sitting on the porch so you can watch them! It's amazing how they made creatures that are considered to be pests into an asset!

Accidently found this place 2 years ago while at Myrtle Beach and looking for Hamburger Joes. Couldn't find the Hamburger Joe's (Which is actually down the street), so stopped here. AMAZING!!! We loved it so much we went back for our last meal there. The Steak Neptune was delicious! We are going to MB next week and plan to go there twice!

(5)Cindy W.

(5)Zane A.
The best kept secret in myrtle beach ! The food and service is absolutely amazing. Order the prime rib or any of their daily specials, and you won't be disappointed. I've pretty much tried everything on their menu and can't say I've found something that I didn't like.
(5)John H.

(5)Allen B.

Great night at racoon cove, Rob runs the bar, Daisy is in charge. Eventually ordered the shrimp and grits entre ... Ample portion, robust flavor ..... Joe's was a great choice
(5)Milton V.

(5)Amanda N.
(2)Bruce P.
Nice atmosphere with very good steaks and seafood. Outside seating area is enclosed and nice view of the marsh lands. Prices are normal for similar restaurants in the area. We will be back next year!
(5)Greg W.
Nice restaurant. Friendly service. A little pricey. $75 lobster. Everything was delicious. Great place for a vegetarian!
(4)Lorand M.

(5)Debi W.
One of the BEST dining experiences at MB! The Filet Au Piov is to die for! Everything is great!
(5)Martha N.
I had the Filet Neptune: Tender steak medallions topped w/crabmeat, shrimp, scallops & bernaise. Good service, good atmosphere, and good food. Reasonably priced. I'd definitely go back!
(4)Pam G.
(4)Alan S.
(1)J F.
(3)Daniel S.
(4)Alice M.

(5)Bruan W.

(5)M C.
Party of five - we had several of the sea food specials. Food was ok but not worth the price. Side dishes and salads were fast food quality. Was much better years ago
(3)Thomas M.
(3)A M.
(4)Norman M.
(5)John D.
fantastic all around. loved the wine selection. i had the NY strip with teyaki mushrooms. my steak was perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked to a perfect med rare as i had ordered. high quality beef. the server great... very knowledgeable and friendly . i was amazed to find such incredible food and service with such a fun and laid back atmosphere.
(5)Steve G.
(5)Teresa C.
(1)Sherry D.
Excellent seafood medley as well as prime rib.
(4)Sue T.
Food was decent, our waitress seemed to have problems remembering who ordered what, it actually got funny after awhile. The food took WAY TOO LONG to come out from the kitchen.
(3)Branden Z.
(5)Tiffany B.
This is my favorite place for a steak in Myrtle Beach. The wait staff is always great. I recommend making reservations.
(5)Donna G.
(5)Karen H.
(4)Queenie B.
(2)Billy W.
Blackened mahi mahi always a favorite of mine! Excellent meal great atmosphere! Kids welcome also!
(5)David F.
Went there tonight with my family. The service was great; all the staff were incredibly hospitable. We couldn't have asked for more. The food was delicious and the price point accurate for the quality. I would recommend Joe's to any and all and return again on another visit.
(4)Mark P.
Great food and great atmosphere. A nice restaurant but fairly laid back. Sit on the porch if you can and watch the raccoons.
(5)Alicia B.
(5)Kimberly A.
(5)Carlotta S.
(5)Audrey K.
(5)Corey S.
Great food. This isn't your franchise crab shack. Girlfriend order Surf and turf, South African lobster tail (ginormous) Market price was $69. Would highly recommend you stop and eat here.
(4)Jennifer H.
Ever.
(5)Nikki G.
(1)Ashley H.
Delicious!!! Best meal we had all week in Myrtle Beach. The Thai ribs appetizer was amazing. We sat outside in the screened in porch area, and got to watch the raccoons. The kids loved it :)
(5)Dj H.
(4)Tricia W.
(4)Lisa D.
One of the best meals I've had in a long time. I had Mahi Neptune. My husband had salmon. Waiter was excellent.
(5)Daylily F.
(5)Steve H.
(5)Jeff H.
Nice spot to have a solid steak, or piece of fish. Drinks are well made and the service is friendly, but a little slow. Overall really good, not quite enough for a 5 star, but I would never complain about eating at Joe's. I would definitely recommend eating outside.
(4)Leah R.
(5)Marcy B.
(4)Deb E.
(2)Laura P.
(5)Steve F.
(4)Maggie K.
We had a great time here. The food was really good. My husband got a steak and said it was the best one he has had in a long time. I got the shrimp and grits and it was amazing, a little oily but still really great. I would certainly come back again.
(5)Brian L.
Sat our party of 8 promptly. Everything was delicious. Steaks were cooked to perfection. Fish selection was good. Great atmosphere for an upscale classy environment. Kids menu included 6oz. Prime rib.
(5)Tomi G.
(5)Sarah P.
Food was absolutely amazing... I had the pork chops and my husband has their blacken Maui Maui. Top notch! Plus the seafood soup and chicken soup amazing! The service was top notch!
(5)Janet S.
Great food at responsible prices. The filet was amazing and the chocolate marble cheesecake is really good. Sit on the porch and you can also get a great show watching the raccoons.
(5)Michael H.
Great place to sit back and enjoy a meal. We like the back porch. Casual but very good food. Seafood specials and steak were the order of the day.
(5)Sophia M.
(1)Debbie D.
(5)Isabella K.
(5)James G.
Great food, grandchildren loved it. Service was great, atmosphere was unbelievable, will definitely go back
(4)April F.
The fresh salmon feature was amazing and the service was friendly and prompt. We will definitely be coming back!
(5)Drew D.
I was by myself so I sat at the small Bar. Great service by Jenna and the filet was wonderful. It was a Friday night and they had about 6 specials also. The place is much bigger than it looks from the outside.
(5)Tina C.
We love love this place one would never know what's behind these closed doors. Excellent service the best employees and the Chef can make top of the line dishes just awesomeness.
(5)John P.
Good food, good people, great service. Indoor and outdoor dining and and a cozy outdoor bar. Small inside bar area with comfy, living room style seating around the fire place. Great steaks and seafood.
(5)Gina C.
Great food!! Atmosphere is comfortable and back deck is a wonderful place for drinks, dinner or just watching the raccoons! As a local I frequent here often!!
(5)Jim B.

Fantastic dinner this evening and a wonderful atmosphere. Just watch out for the Margaritas!
