Clearly I see why Darden is trying to unload Red Lobster. At first I questioned that decision, but the Red Lobsters which I usually dine at are great. This one... Not so much. My food came before I was done with my salad. All of the shrimp were over cooked. Don't get me started on my baked potato.... IT should have been tossed an hour earlier. They have no clue what butter on the side is.

For those of you NOT staying at a nearby hotel without transportation, don't bother with this place. It had been a long time since I had visited a Red Lobster and I can say that I haven't missed a thing. While their prices have increased, their quality has not (and perhaps decreased). I started with a cold vinaigrette soup with iceberg lettuce (they call it a salad). Then, they brought out a shrimp platter with various shrimp. Nothing tasted as if it was cooked there. It tasted like a fancy TV dinner...precooked, packaged, and reheated. The broccoli was freshly steamed and unseasoned. Blah. With all the fantastic restaurants in and around Charleston (perhaps the culinary Capitol of the south) it's amazing this place is still open. I came here because it was basically the only thing within walking distance from the hotel. Next time, I'll call a cab.

Can you really complain about Red Lobster? It is standard food everywhere. Very little difference here in the south!

This is one of the main restaurants close to the hotel where I was staying overnight for a client interview the next day. I thought grilled shrimp sounded yummy to eat while watching the first debate all by my lonesome and I was right! This location has very nice staff and my food was prepared quickly. I very much appreciated the great service and excellent food! The only complaint I have is that my broccoli was a bit over seasoned (way too much salt) but the rest of the meal was perfect!

While they were extremely busy with it being Mother's Day they were great at making sure that the service was still excellent. The food was superb and our hostess was a good conversationalist. I'll be honest with Charleston being known for it's seafood there are quite a few other places to get seafood at but if your looking for a great experience then I'd suggest trying this location.

The food and service was good besides waiting for a table for what felt like an hour..honestly there's always better sea food joints in charleston but this place is good too!

Too many good seafood restaurants in Charleston to waste your time...so why did I bother? It was close to where I was staying and I had a positive experience at a RL in KC 2 months ago. Well, the KC one was way better. The exact dish of fried flounder was night and day between the two. Frozen at the charleston location and the batter was terrible. I'm done with RL.

Great service and staff. Consistent menu and food quality for the chain. We tried the new create your own seafood trio in the seasonal menu and got to sample a little of everything. The coconut shrimp were delicious, as expected. The shrimp diavolo was my favorite though! The almond crusted salmon was a little lacking in flavor, but the fish was cooked nicely. Garlic and cheese biscuits were served generously and we devoured them. No room for dessert, but the menu was so tempting! Overall a good experience. Not my go-to in this area for seafood (duh), but a good substitute.

Service was extremely slow and lemonade was sour. We got there at 7:56 and it took and hour to get our food. The Resturant was not crowded.

Its not often when I go to one of these places, but when I was still craving seafood, I head on over to Red Lobster near Charleston regional Airport. It was a nice dinner to wrap up a pretty epic weekend in South Carolina - 4 cities within 4 days while running a marathon in one of them. That's how I roll. Red Lobster is a national chain that prides itself on its combos of lobster tails and many varieties of shrimp. They advertise a lot on television, so that's what makes me remember. I was traveling alone, so here I was doing dinner here at 6:45pm on a lovely Sunday night after checking into the Innplace hotel nearby on Gorer Drive. This Red Lobster is located in the Mall nearby the Charleston regional Airport area. The prices here are pretty good, but can be pricey if you order too much and can't eat it all in one sitting. The ambiance of this restaurant was quiet, seeing that it was a Sunday evening. I waited a few minutes before being seated. Similar to an Olive Garden, at least in restaurant layout and service, Red Lobster dabbled in seafood whereas, Olive Garden was in Italian cuisine. The service here is okay. I ordered the Lobster soup, cheese biscuit, and the dueling lobster tails for my entree They gave me complimentary bread, which I took that down like an angry hoard of bees. It was that good. The Appetizers were good, but the Dueling lobster tails was just okay, but tasty and delicious. I felt like I could get better lobster elsewhere up the coast in New England or definitely return to Maine for it. Then again, I can't really complain, since they probably fish it out of Charleston harbor somewhere anyway, so that's cool. I ordered a bottle of corona also to compliment the meal, but it didn't really do much to enhance the meal or to engage my senses. Oh well, it was just red lobster to be sure. Still, like anything, the overall experience was just a-ok. Thought maybe there was something different out here with red lobster on the east coast, but like chain restaurants, I guess its like that the world over. The service was good, though. Not complaining, just typical and uneventful for sure. Prices here can average $31-$60 if you are not careful and can spend up to $200 on a good day. Lol, If you like seafood and don't mind the chain restaurant aspect of it, come on down. It's quite good if you are staying near the airport area and need a quick bite for the next day's flight - like I was. Credit cards accepted, always nice! Support local! B

The 3 stars are for those delicious biscuits! In my opinion the food is bland and overpriced.

Been here a ton of times! I have never had a bad experience here. This review is more about the current "Crab Feast" special. Service was definitely at 15% or average. We arrived at 5pm on a Saturday & no wait! The waitress refilled our drinks once, (at the end of our meal.) Luckily the food server filled in and got us refills...it was only water BTW. She consistently stated she was waiting on cheddar biscuits, even as we saw them being ferried to other tables. Ours were absolutely hot & fresh...maybe she was ensuring ours were straight out of the oven? Salads arrived & were devoured before the app arrived. I am not a huge fan of what tastes like bottled Caesar salad dressing...but was glad to eat the whole bowl of dressed greens instead of filling up on the app which we took home. We had the new crab dip appetizer. It was served with toasted bread. I found the dip to be average. My BF thought it was good, not great. The middle if the dip was solid, the side of it was a bit soupy & lacked crab. I was eating from the edges & he was dipping from the middle which was full of crab. Either way, taken home & reheating resulted in a more solid dip. Overall, the make-up of the dip resulted in a muted crab taste IMHO. I'd like to see another review on this dip, but I wouldn't recommend it. I ordered the "New England lobster kettle", the BF ordered the crab feast. The lobster kettle was not short on lobster, I enjoyed the cherry tomatoes. I didn't expect "friedish" potatoes to be swimming in that sauce. I expected seasoned boiled potatoes. The corn cob was underwhelming and overcooked...but it looked delicious; it appeared to be grilled, but it was obviously over boiled & then grilled/charred a bit. I can't complained about the amount of lobster/tomatoes...BUT the 5 slices of sausage, 2 or 3 fried potato wedges and overcooked corn made the combo a 3 star experience. I also wish this dish had a crab option... The crab feast was another story! It was delicious. I had a bit of my BFs plate. With salad, it's probably enough for 2 people. The crab was steamed perfection. The other crab opened & in sauce was savory & delicious, then the crab sauce over rice w/ shrimp was great too. He ordered asparagus as his side. It was perfectly cooked. All in all, we will return when we are the mood, but probably not until their next "special" I'll stick to the crab or if I really to go all out, the seafood pasta. Unless a friend recommends a special, I'll stick to cheddar biscuits & the old stand-bys. Of course every time we are here I wonder...why in the world is Red Lobster popular/successful in a seafood town? & why in the world are we eating here? I really believe it's the cheddar biscuits, predictable menu and service that doesn't look down on you or require a Rez.

Our party of 4 ate here last night. Although the food was incredibly good the service left us with a bad taste. As a group of large men we found it uncomfortable to be squished into a small booth. Our waiter was in need of more training to provide better service. To start he forgot to Inquire how I wanted my steak cooked. After receiving our meal he never checked back to ensure quality and correctness of the order. After spending an hour and a half trying to get through our meal, it was a nightmare trying to pay and get receipts. Finally a manager took care of us. Anyway... Food is fabulous, service needs work.

I was able to get right in and my food quickly. I travel all over the US, and it's hard to find a place where I can both get the perfect meal and drink. Barb made my day. She knows how to make a Midori Vodka Sour hands down! And Red Lobster, your cheddar biscuits are heavenly!

My hubby and I love Red Lobster (pretty much just because of the cheddar biscuits), and just moved to Charleston and were searching for a place to go. We chose the one in North Charleston simply because it was rated higher than the one off of Sam Rittenburg. On Google Reviews, a lot of people recommended asking for John. Ironically, our waiter's name was John--and he was AMAZING. I have NEVER gotten service as great as that! We have been to Ruth's Chris and other fine restaurants and haven't gotten service as great as we did at Red Lobster with John. He was so attentive, always filling our drinks (they were literally never empty) and asking how things were and making little jokes. He was a genuinely nice guy. We will definitely go back and ask for John! The only reason I didn't rate 5 stars is because, unfortunately, my husband's shrimp was very greasy and gross. John gave us a free dessert, though!

For the love of God dont go here! The food isn't great and does not taste fresh and the service is usually bad. On one dining experience I ordered champagne and the bartender leaned over the server bar to holler at me to know if I wanted a scotch glass, a snifter, or what? He was able to figure out soon after asking that I expected a champane flute and very obviously made a stink about what a pain those are to wash to his coworkers. Among other things this place isn't worth it. There's a ton of places to go to in Charleston for seafood, try any of them they'd be better than here.
