We had a good time at Longhorn tonight. Normally, we don't frequent chain restaurants because we live in Charleston and there are so many good local places, but I had a gift card from work and the best restaurant listed on it was Longhorn. My husband wanted a steak too. We got there early and were seated pretty quickly- the restaurant was busy but our food wasn't super delayed in coming out. The service was good and our waitress was attentive. She brought us extra bread when we needed it and checked on us several times. My husband got a steak, fries and salad, and I had one of the salads. We also got a shrimp appetizer for free by joining their e-newsletter- so I recommend signing up for that if you know you're going. My salad was only $5.49 and it was huge. I expected a very small salad, like a side salad, but it was the apple harvest salad for fall and very big, very filling. They also bring honey wheat bread to the table, it's really tasty. My husband said his steak was good and cooked the right way. He also got a drink and said it was strong, very good. He liked it. It's probably not the absolute best steak in Charleston, a very culinary city, but it's not bad either. We'd return.

Like another reviewer said, I usually am not a fan of chain restaurants. Having said that, I've not had a bad experience here like I have several other steakhouses. Actually, when we went earlier, my girlfriend ordered a regular sirloin, and I ordered a crusted sirloin. When our food came out, both were crusted. She had a new steak within 3-5 minutes, and she said it was actually the best sirloin she's had in a long time. Also, the salads we had tonight were huge, lol. I'd recommend this place over many others, give it a shot.

I agree with some of the reviews. As soon as you walk in there is a smell that just sticks to your lungs. When you enter to the right is the hostess table and she asked me it I wanted smoking or non smoking. As I views around the room if there was a separate section for smoking. Nope it is one big room separated by a half wall. She should of said ....would you like to sit in the smoking section our smoked filled section. Growing up in California I have never been asked this question till I left the state. Service was actually exceptional. I was craving or a prime rib but since it was lunch it was not avail till dinner. The waitress recommended the prime rib sandwich. Which I ordered. When that arrived my mouth was watering just thinking about how good it would be. I took one bite and my mouth burn from the amount of salt there was in the meat. It was if they scrapped the bottom of the prime rib pot to make that sandwich. I have never had anything that salty before that it burns your mouth. I kindly told the waitress and then I ordered something else on the menu. I ordered the chicken with portabella mushroom. That was a delicious choice. The complimentary bread was very tasty and their salads are very fresh and good. My husband outlaw ribeye was very good and perfectly cooked at medium.

We went for lunch and MLK Day and it was very crowded. I couldn't believe they didn't have baked sweet potatoes at 1300. The servers were too busy and they seemed under staffed. The food was good though. We had the wild west shrimp and garlic fries.

Food is ok, a little overpriced for what you get in my opinion.

I was here this past Saturday for my birthday. You can't beat the steaks here. Always tender and tasty. The atmosphere is good. There is a full bar. The service is quick and the price is not bad. LongHorn Steakhouse is a great place to treat yourself.

When entering this restaurant a sour or stale smell greeted us in the entrance. We went to bar for lunch. Was clean, bartender was nice, service was good. Now for the results of lunch. Ordered Caesar Salad with Grilled Salmon. Wait time was OK a bit slow. Salad was by itself good, salmon was not fully cooked. I kept the salad portion of the meal and requested fish that was fully cooked. Experience longer then usually wait for my food. It arrived on a small plate and it was the same piece of fish I had cut into originally. It looked like they just put it on the grill and scooped it up and gave it back to me. The manager said he understand I received a piece of fish uncooked. What the manager didn't do is to follow through and see that a new slice of fish and new salad was prepared in a quick amount of time for my replacement, instead he just had the cook recook my original piece of fish. Poor management. One Note I left a little early and my hubby went to pay the bill and notice that they just took my lunch off the bill. It was at the least good that was done. I'm sure they have had better days, this one just wasn't mine.

Visit was for lunch, when we came in there was a disgusting order/smell. Seems like no one knew anything. Finally the manager heard me complain and said it was the kitchen and he was trying to get the AC to run right. He nevered offered to give us a discount off our bill, he just said sorry about that. We ordered and the food was GREAT. Service was not and we notice management change. You May want to give this place a chance to get their ducks in a roll.....

Went here for lunch. Was seated immediately, waitress attended to us almost as quick as we were seated. Nothing on the menu really called to us but we were hungry enough to force a decision. We ordered an appetizer: the jalapeño "shooters". My husband ordered the chicken tenders platter; I requested the toasted brie salad with mac'n'cheese lunch special. Our appetizer was forgotten. My husbands meal came with broccoli and French fries. The French fries were stone cold. The broccoli was so overdone it could have been baby food. He enjoyed his chicken strips but claimed he ate them purely out of need for sustenance. My salad was definitely the only reason I am giving this venue 3 stars. The salad had little wedges of battered and lightly fried brie, dried cranberries, red onion, mandarins slices and crisp greens, dressed in a blackberry vinaigrette. I shared this with my husband who wished he had ordered the full size version with grilled chicken instead of his chicken tenders. The macaroni and cheese was also delicious. Not the best or anything to write home about, but appropriate temperature, texture, and comfortable flavor that I enjoyed. The appetizer showed up during our consumption of entrees and was cold. The sauce it was served with was also quite a turn off once tasted. It was taken off our bill by our friendly and concerned waitress. This place was pretty quick to turn out ordered food that was not forgotten and they give a 10% military discount. I only suggest this place if you are too hungry to drive farther away for food.

Ate here last night to cheer up my boyfriend who wasn't feeling well. We started with excellent service at the bar while we waited. The wait was very quick and we were greater by a server who provided exceptional service. He ordered the filet I ordered the sirloin. His filet was cooked perfect and the only reason I am giving this long horn 4 stars is mine was almost well done when I asked for medium. The broccoli was delicious and our server even brought extra loaded baked potato toppings because my boyfriend is hilarious and asked for everything very enthusiastically with a bit of a flair. Our appetizer the firecracker wraps came out piping hot and delicious and I assume his caesar salad was good because he scrapped the bowl and didn't offer me a bite. Lol Good longhorn location. Good food, good staff, and good atmosphere.

Nice place to go when you just want to get out of the house. Tasty food, friendly service. Not much else can be said that hasn't already been told. Sweet tea is decent, which is a must for the south.

I usually love eating here and I had never ha a problem before until recently. I called ahead to the North Charleston location for a party of 3 about 30 minutes before arriving. I had done this many times and it was never a problem. When we arrived, I checked in with the host and told her the name and size of the party and that we had called ahead. The hostess then looked at me like I was stupid and said that she couldn't find our name on the list. I told her we had called ahead only 30 minutes ago. She continued to look at me like I was a lier and said I wasn't on the list and that we could be added to the bottom. I'm a patient person BUT I don't like being called a lier. She had no problems with us becoming upset and deciding to just leave. The hosts at Longhorns need to be replaced. They all have horrible attitudes and NO respect for customers.

My steak was excellent, I got it done medium. My hubs got the prime rib too, which was so soft, very tasty. The asparagus and mashed potatoes were ok. Nothing great, nothing phenomenal. The starter plate we got was solid. The shrimp were zingy, very flavorful and both of our favorites. The mushrooms were both of ours least favorite... Just preference maybe, but a little too mushroomy/earthy for us.

Walked in Thursday night at 9:30 for a quick drink after a long day. I sat down and heard "Oh great, some guy just sat at the bar". As the bartender came around the corner I got up from my seat and headed for the door. Why would I stay and spend my money after hearing that.

Decent food and service. My fav is the Crusted Parmesan Chicken with two sides. You get a good amount of bread while you're waiting. Tried the NAPA grilled chicken with wine sauce and artichokes, mashed potatoes...portions smaller than the crusted parmesan chicken...good choice if on a diet? The steaks and cowboy pork chops I've had in the past were good choices, too. They have an under 500 calorie list of entrees as well. If not calorie conscious...try the Molten Chocolate Lava Cake..heavenly!

On Valentines Day I treated my wife, daughter and son-in-law to a steak dinner at Longhorn SteakHouse on Rivers Avenue in North Charleston,SC. The initial wait time given was 25minutes and true to their estimate we were seated in about 30 minutes. The wait staff was attentive and efficient, but seemed overwhelmed and confused at times. They made a mistake and brought the wrong appetizers which we decided to keep. the wait time for the food was close to 45 minutes which was on the long side, however, the steaks and sides were cooked as ordered and the entire meal was tasty and plentiful. The portions were generous and we had three boxes of leftovers for the next day. All in All I give Longhorn Steakhouse 3 Stars, only for efficiency of service as the food was excellent and worth the waite. Longhorn is a good medium priced Steakhouse, and one this writer recommends.

I'm not a fan of chain restaurants but on occasion, when shopping on Rivers Ave., I'll stop for a meal at one of the many available establishments. I've eaten at LongHorn Steakhouse a fair amount over the years. Each time I enter the doors I wonder what the service will be like; either it's great or a nightmare. The food, on the other hand, is more consistent, I've never had a bad meal here. I stopped by last night and my all-around experience was positive. I highly recommend the Rocky Top Chicken. They used to have it on their menu, no longer listed, but ask for it and the servers know what you're talking about. Last night my server told me it's on their "secret menu"! OK. Two chicken breasts, topped with BBQ sauce, cheese, bacon, and tomatoes...delicious. Along with two side dishes, you'll be quite satisfied!

Service is slow, very slow. Food is fine. Nothing special. Skip the dessert though. My brownie sundae had vanilla ice cream that was 40% freezer burn. Also, why is it served in a martini-like glass? Serve it on a plate so that the ice cream can have a higher chance of not melting within 5 minutes.
