This place is reasonably priced and has all of your standard chinese buffet treats. They have a very good hibachi station, limited sushi selection (although they do have a fried roll that is above average!), good beef, chicken and shrimp options even at lunch. You can't beat $8. This place seems to cater to people who want Americanized Chinese food because they do have mac n cheese, chicken nuggets, pizza sticks etc. but their Chinese options are good. There are a ton of construction workers that come here for lunch which should be a clue that this place serves hearty amounts of food at a good price. Don't expect anything authentic about this place but if you're looking to get your General Tso and California roll on then you've come to the right place.

i would like to preface by saying ive been here before and it was decent. not great, but worth 8 bucks. me and a friend dropped by today, and it was horrible. im not hard to please. ive had 5$ chinese buffet in savannah, and it was decent. worth 5 bucks. the food here today was barely worth 5 bucks. literally nothing had any taste. we were contemplating walking out about a quarter of the way through the first plate, but we were both really hungry and willing to sift through some not so good things to get to decent food. i tried most of the things on the bar, finding nothing worth eating... so decided to get a plate of dumplings. i figured dumplings are almost impossible to fuck up, and you can smother them in delicious dumpling sauce... but i ate a couple and decided no amount of sauce could cover up that tasteless mess. i figured, well... it really is impossible to mess up the chinese bbq, so i stacked a plate with shrimp and steak, noodles and mushrooms, had the guy cook it, and again, completely tasteless. it was edible, however, and i didnt wanna pay 8 bucks and not get full... so i ate it. i let my rude side get the best of me, as i was feeling like it had to be intentional. how could every single thing on the buffet be burnt, dry, gross, or simply 100% without taste, unless they just did not care? i let the lady at the front hear it. i regret staying. we are home, my friend just tossed his cookies, and i might be in the same boat in a few. i can already feel sick like a heavy rock is inside my stomach. do yourself a favor and dont roll the dice on this place. they dont care what it tastes like, and im pretty sure they have children cooking the food, based on the quality. also, as a side note, the mac n cheese tasted like they emptied a giant bottle of mustard in it. i like a little mustard in my mac n cheese, but this was entirely mustard, no cheese. will not be returning, unless i need food poisoning to get a day off of work.

This is my fav chinese buffet restaurant..I need to get here more often...I don't really care for crowds and traffic which is what Tanger Outlet by a Walmart and Sams is all about.. I'm not a buffet fan either, but as long as I bring my sanitizer along I can get by. Outside of the busy location, this is a pretty quiet, clean, well organized restaurant with excellent chinese and american food choices for dinner and dessert. Staff is friendly and attentive. Price is reasonable, taste is right.... Love the fish tank at the entrance. Think I'm going back for a second time this week!

There is a special place in my heart for hole in the wall, average Chinese food. This place delivers. While the food here isn't top quality, it's rather tasty. I have a weak spot for the deep fried creamed corn balls. Seriously, they're delicious. They also have a banging espresso chocolate cake thing. Get three slices. The service is pretty good, they take dirty dishes away quickly and drinks stay full. The bathroom is nice and clean. Come prepared to roll out to your car.

A hidden gold mine. The prices are reasonable and the food is great. They had surprisingly GREAT deviled crab, macaroni and cheese (southern style), fried okra, and oh yea the Chinese parts were good too. The people are friendly and the food is plenty.

Not tasty at all! Please do not go here, the food was cold and everything looked as if it was sitting out there since 11am. Not enough choices to pick from. The Ice cream tasted like powder. I will never come back here again. What a waste of $9.99 + tax $10.32

I went here for lunch because my husband loves Chinese buffets. I don't think we will go back. The place smells so bad! The restroom was disgusting(hadn't been cleaned..they weren't busy) and has an old sewage smell that radiates throughout the entire restaurant. The food was old! Even the ice cream had stale cones! Not the best experience

This is just a good old fashioned, cheap, chinese bufet with good food and good prices.

The best thing about this place is the ice cold water! And i'm only "kind of" joking. I will admit that the pineapple ham was pretty good, but seriously that's about it. There were 3 of us and together we sampled about 90% of what was offered. Things you would think would be a safe bet like teriyaki chicken were just not good. Even the sweet and sour sauce tasted old. I am really surprised by the handful of good reviews. Especially in an area like Charleston.

The service was good and attentive and everything was clean, but the food just wasn't hot. The best thing I had was the sesame chicken, because it was hot and crispy, but only because I was the first person to get some after the man refilled the container. Everything else was just warm. There's a good selection of both Asian-type and American foods. Lunch was $8.56 for the buffet and water. I will find another place for my Chinese fix because it's not worth fighting the Tanger traffic for a mediocre restaurant.

Of all the Chinese buffets in the area (and for some reason in Charleston there are way too many of them), this one seems to be a level about the rest. Considering the "Buffet Factor" of Chinese restaurants, the food at Grand Buffet seems just a bit fresher, and better prepared than at other places. Never have I come here and not had a really nice lunch. I can definitely say that if you are looking for "all-you-can-shove-into-you" Chinese, than this is definitely the place you are looking for.

It's a serviceable Chinese buffet. Not amazing not bad it's what all buffets are. There to fill you up at a cheap price when you're feeling fat.

Sadly, this place has gone "cheap" on some buffet items. The moment you put can veggies on the buffet, you kill it. My family and I were regular customers, but after last visit, we will never come back. Sad.

Recently moved to Charleston and just started working near the Tanger Outlet Mall... trying new places! This buffet was ok. Nothing stood out as worthy to write about. It is the typical Chinese buffet.

A pretty good deal. Only $11.00 for real food when you compare to a fast food meal full of artificial flavors and preservatives at $9.00. And the food is already prepared so there is no long waiting while it's cooked. The food on the steam tables were also kept very fresh. This is one of a few Charleston restaurants that I ate in that did not automatically add the gratuity to the bill. You can dine in or carry out. And the carry-out is a flat fee, not based on weight. Though there was a slight language barrier, the staff was as friendly as can be. I enjoyed the selection of foods, especially the Honey Chicken Wings and the cheese filled fried Wonton. They had some sushi and would do a stir fry with the ingredients you chose. The owner was very humble and did not stand out as if she was the boss and was not above doing the dirty jobs, which is probably why the staff was so friendly. I will see you on my next trip! :-)

This is probably one of the best chinese buffet's I've ever been to. The lunch buffet price is very reasonable, a little over $8.00 I believe the dinner buffet was around $12.00 (not sure if that includes a drink since I only drank water) I realize I was in a chinese restaurant but for some reason the macaroni and cheese was quite possibly the best I've ever eaten! And who'd thought that I would've found it on a chinese buffet! The food is a good variety and constantly replenished. The restaurant is very clean and the staff is pleasant. My glass of water never ran empty. Will definitely be back when in Charleston.

We flew into Charleston late in the evening. Grand Buffet is near the Charleston airport and is the only restaurant opened late at night. It was the only decent dinner choice other than fast food, sandwich, or pizza. The restaurant is in a shopping plaza, near Walmart and Tanger Outlet. There was a large selection of dishes, meats, fish, soups, salads, fruits, cookies, including Mongolian grill that you picked your own veggies and meat, and they cooked them right in front of you. $11 all you can eat was a great deal. Since we got in late, the waitress and owner came over and asked if we needed more food before they put everything away. Excellent value for decent food.

Vegetarian review: Not a HUGEEEEE selection. At 1st I went to the buffet and only could pick from like 4 things to eat. And Im not picky at all. The tofu vegetarian delight was crap. The other things were ehh ok. The sugar doughnuts were awesome hah. The spring rolls were good to. So after just taking tow bites, I left that plate and went to the hibachi grill area. I made my own veggie low mien and they cooked it up for me it was really good. And they also had avocado rolls to pick from. It was pretty good from what I had to pick from. To me i could have eating better for 11 bucks. But it was pretty clean and they were pretty friendly and quick w water. hah.

Typical chinese buffet joint. However they do have a mongolian bbq section, sushi section and clams!!! Most places don't offer the clams, which is a plus for my husband and me. The food's alright. They could offer more of a variety in terms of their sushi though. There were only 3 kinds available when we were there and they nearly all looked the same. Overall, it's an ok place for me.
