Not worth the time. The menu is miss leading. The food was barely room temp and the wait staff did not know the menu. Got sick and missed a days work Never again.

I've always enjoyed FATZ. It's a very nice casual restaurant for lunch and dinner. Love their Chili and am a huge fan of the half sandwich and soup combo. Restaurant is always clean and the servers have always been very friendly.

We had full rack baby ribs and pot roast. For dessert we had the double fudge brownie. The ribs amd the brownie were really good. They also gave us second free dessert for my wife's birthday. Our server Ashley was amazing and super funny :)

Great with the food, usually good with the customer service until one day I went and a lady just seemed mad for no apparent reason. The food is amazing and I recommend people to go if they want great tasting food.

This was my first time at Fatz, as we don't have one in Tennessee...but let me tell you, I wish we did! I tried the top sirloin (medium well) with the baked sweet potato...they baked that sweet potato just like I do! The flavor was so good...the flesh peeled easily from skin and the brown sugar butter was delicious! I got the steak without any seasonings (I'm a fitness competitor in town for a competition), but the grill flavoring was spot on! - Or I could've just been THAT hungry. Lol - I really wish we had one of these back home. There is so much I want to try! And I'd bring along our server, Tim...he was wonderful! Great job, Fatz!

I've eaten at FATZ a few times and overall it's not a bad spot. Met my two friends today for lunch. It took a bit over an hour, but the food came out quickly. Our waitress must have been pretty busy because the length of time was more related to waiting for her to come back after we'd finished, and to get our checks. With that being said, there was a "to go" order placed about half way through our meal so perhaps that delayed things. The normally tasty rolls were off. Not nearly as good as we'd remembered. I thought this to myself but then my lunch companions brought it up so it wasn't just me. Maybe they were stale?!? My two companions ordered the calabash chicken with fries. I ordered the chicken provolone sandwich with fries. My sandwich was tasty, but messy! I only had the tiny napkin I'd placed my drink on and the napkin that had surrounded the silverware which I'd placed on my lap. Since we all had food we eat with our hands, proactively providing more napkins would have been nice. Both orders of calabash chicken had a slight pink tinge to it. So much so that I was certain my friend's chicken was underdone. Both checked their tenders and all of them looked that way! They asked the waitress and she said that happens, it was okay but she'd be happy to bring out another order of the calabash chicken that'd been cooked longer. Both decided to keep what they had already, since even the smaller ends that HAD to be fully cooked had a slight pink tinge. My one companion even had me try a piece and it definitely didn't have that under cooked chicken texture... and it was super tasty! I really liked the fries too. Overall a decent lunch and we'd all be happy to return to FATZ Cafe.

Shrimp and grits are really good!! But wait: we were sitting at the bar and before that had ordered wings. They came out looking amazing.... until I picked up the first one and it had feathers!! I was picking off white feathers and showed our bartender. Kinda of ruined the meal. We got a kind apology from the manager, the wings were taken off the bill... but we sort of expected no charge for the drinks, or an offer of something else. No plans to return at this time. Plenty of other choices. Can't stop thinking about all those feathers...

Great food great service! We came to visit our son & family and wanted their special fried mushroom apps.....wasn't on the menu. Manager went the extra mile to accommodate our special need and came out with this HUGE platter. I HIGHLY recommend FATZ to go eat and their a great family atmosphere. I give them a extra star.

Heard about the Shrimp and Grits - and I am on a mission to find the best shrimp in grits in Charleston, SC. So far, Gary (local friend) can't be topped. Fatz is pretty darn good. Cajun and black pepper spiced grilled shrimp on a bed of smooth cheese grits. Small tiny shrimp and bacon interwoven into the brown mushroom gravy sauce. Just enough heat for flavor but not enough to sweat. Tried the peach cobbler just because it's traditional southern... sent it back - waaay too many walnuts and not enough pastry. The peach flavor was sugary sweet. Easily replaced with a peanut butter pie. The pie was medium to light density. Fresh peanut flavor - not roasted peanut. Oreo cookie crust (not recognizably oreo). Lightly drizzled with chocolate sauce. Pretty good but... better peanut butter pie at Jim and Nicks across the street. Server was super nice - total southern hospitality and sat down to chat with me.... I still have to get used to people calling me "baby" when they are half my age! What is that? Honey - I get it - southern - but not so keen on the "baby" lingo.

I've always enjoyed all the food at Fatz, so it made sense to eat out at Fatz while we were spending time with family who were visiting from Florida and West Virginia. Unfortunately, our dining experience at Fatz on Labor Day weekend, 2015 was extremely disappointing. We ordered the turkey and dressing meals and it was among the worst I've ever had. No flavor, dried out and bland. I left over half of my meal and didn't even bother to ask for a take-out box. That's never happened before. Our server, Ryan was great however and we made sure he was compensated appropriately. The money we spent was a complete waste and worst of all, our out-of-town family left away vowing never to visit a Fatz again.

Someone took my wife here and she got a chicken alfredo pasta and loved it, so it wasn't long and she dragged me here as well. I don't even remember what I ordered but it was some kind of sandwich and was utterly forgettable (obviously). She got the pasta again and it wasn't as good as the first time. Months later, we returned as someone told me their chicken tenders are the best on the planet. The wife got the pasta again, and again it wasn't very good. The chicken tenders (with a weird name) are actually really good. Really good. But, they're expensive and they give you too many so you end up just leaving money on the plate or eating stale chicken the next day (be honest, fried chicken does not work well as leftovers). My first thought was that the chicken tasted extremely similar to Zaxby's. That said, Zaxby's is cheaper, faster, and more consistent. Overall, out of five meals we had two good ones. So, it's pretty easy to say the rating is 2/5. Doubtful we'll return.

This is just a chain restaurant. Food was alright. Service was alright. I just honestly was not thrilled and probably wouldnt recommend it. I can't think of any ways to make it better, just the whole experience left a little to be desired. The ambience in the restaurant is plain. I can see where it might be a decent place for lunch if you worked in the area. Otherwise, skip it and try some of the local food options in charleston.

Not crazy about the food at Fatz I tried their "famous" chicken tenders which disappointed. The steak was pretty good however but Fatz it's just a Chili's style restaurant and I'm not really into that. Service was great however.

OH MY DOG - so good, so very very good. I had never seen a FATZ before. There is one in Charlotte (where I live), but I had never been to it. I have been missing out! On our visit, we were quickly seated by the friendly host, and then immediately greeted by our server, Tremaine, who was awesome. After finding out it was our first time visiting a FATZ, we were brought 2 pieces of their signature popcorn chicken for us to try. YUM, so YUM. Tender, juicy buttermilk soaked chicken breast, coated in a crunchy fried layer of love (and double chins). I thought the sample was so good that I ordered it, along with a side of their mac and cheese which has BACON in it (that's right, I said bacon). The mac and cheese was creamy and delicious and had bacon in it (it's a slight upcharge if ordered as a side). Mom had the shrimp po boy with fries and she was very happy with that, though she was happier with the poppy seed rolls that were served smoking hot with butter. They seriously melt in your mouth. Everything was served fresh and warm and was very tasty. Our server was excellent. We ate lunch on Saturday and tried to get back on Sunday evening before we headed over to the coliseum for a concert, but at 5:30 there was already a 30 minute wait. If I find myself in Charleston again, I would definitely return to this restaurant (and ask to sit in Tremaine's section, have I mentioned how great he was?), but in the meantime, I will be heading to the one here in Charlotte. Great place!

This is like an Applebees or what not. We came here right before we had to leave for our flight and told them to hurry it up haha....so we were in and out within 30 minutes!! Go us NYers... There were 4 rolls to start off with with some buttery goodness. We got the fried green tomatoes (I never had these until I visited SC!) which were pretty good. The fried chicken was more like just chicken tenders, so though they were good, it was nothing impressive. The coleslaw and mashed potatoes were a bit cold and standard as well. It's a chill, decently priced and quick spot to get a very filling meal!

I ordered the Calabash Chicken dinner with Shrimp Bisque, mash potatoes and vegetables. Soup was delicious, hot and full of shrimp. How about the meal came out 2 minutes later?!!! Chicken was warm not hot as well as the mash potatoes, yuck. The waitress must learn how to place the order into the kitchen so their guest will receive hot food.

Both food and service can be hit or miss here at Fatz. I've had both excellent food and service, and I've had slow service, crowded seating, crying kids and mediocre food. Go there and you may be lucky, or you may experience a fail. Soups are good, and the chicken tenders are some of the best with a buttermilk crust. Sometimes they can overcook the tenders, or they may be served lukewarm. Two and a half stars - straight up the middle. Take it or leave it.

DISGUSTING!!! How do you screw up a salad?!?! And saw the wait staff eating out of the olives and cherries at the bar while grabbing drinks for the table! UGH!!!! Gross place!!

Steak cooked a perfect mid rare! Grilled Asparagus with garlic sauce to die for. Salad... Tolerable till my quartered cherry tomatoes displayed a big fat WORM also cut into quarters!!!! The drinks downplayed the worm into just being gross. Over all a good meal.

I've always loved their poppyseed rolls and butter served before your meal. The Asian Salad is fantastic as well as the loaded potato soup. Came here today for sliders, but they no longer serve them so got a whole basic american cheeseburger and cheesy grits.. hit the spot waitress was great accommodating two finicky old ladies & all our confusing indecisions & demands for this and that and other foods ordered to go. It was crowded and a bit slow getting the food but we didn't notice cos she kept us stuffed with second servings of the rolls and drinks.

We've never had a bad meal! The best part, I think, is that Fatz Cafe gives each and every military member, whether active , retired, or veteran a free meal every Veteran's Day. Now, I think that's the best deal around, but the food is to die for! The Shrimp and Grits are the best I've had, my husband says that the chicken Pot Pie is the best he's ever had. I usually get the Shrimp and Grits, but on this Veteran's Day, I got the Reuben and it was so large that I had to box up the second half. The chocolate cake is out of this world! The Owner is amazing and the help is the best there is in North Charleston! if you're a Veteran, or like some of the writers here; give them a try, or another try. I know you aren't talking about the same Fatz I am.

Fatz, at this location, is decent food with great service. You probably do not want to go to Fatz if you are counting calories or watching your fat intake. As the name would suggest, the food here can be particularly rich. Atmosphere - Clean, cheerful, nicer Applebees (better layout IMHO), booths, bar section. Food - Now to Fatz credit they do list the calorie count on their menu and have a section on there that offers "lite" options. But when the poppy seed rolls w/ cinnamon honey butter come out you might as well be eating doughnuts. In fact, these things actually taste like doughnut bites, sans the glazing...so good. Anyway, my healthy choice to counter the doughnuts, I mean rolls, was the fish fillet prepared Key West Style. This means it was seasoned w/ lemon, thyme, and basil seasoning and served on a hoagie roll with lettuce, tomato and red onion. For my side, I had the steamed broccoli. All these items came out hot and were decent in taste. The spices on my fish were nice and helped me avoid the need to add any sauces to my grilled fish sandwich. The broccoli was...broccoli. It was steam soft and looked good. Service - This was definitely the highlight of the visit. Our server was excellent. She was engaging, polite, and just plain fun. She was an older woman who made me feel as though a relative was serving us. I wish I had the receipt handy to give her credit. Overall - A decent experience.

Have eaten here a few times and the service and quality are consistently good. They usually have a 15-20 minute wait around lunch, so plan for that or get there early/late to miss the crowd. Disagree with another review of it being dirty. Always clean and tidy when I've eaten there.

WE NEED A FATZ CAFE IN ATL!! We visited on a VERY busy Saturday where there were several conferences going on in the area=thousands of people. Our wait time for a group of six was 35 minutes but we were seated sooner. Our hostess, Rafael, kept us entertained and recommended items to us until we were seated. Our server, Jan, was CALM, COLLECTED, AND FANTASTIC in spite of the chaotic crowds. We were offered a sample of the Calabash chicken, which is SUPERB. I went ahead and got the meal with Mac n cheese ( just ok) and broccoli (overcooked). Best damn chicken tenders, period! Wow! Seasoned and cooked to perfection; I took an order to go. Since we were there on business we were not able to have "adult beverages" (boo!) but there were some very appealing, wonderfully priced selections. We did have the pomegranate lemonade which is a MUST. Seriously, every time I come to SC I look forward to dining at FATZ: speedy, courteous, delicious and fairly priced!

I wish they had one in Va. Beach. Amazing chicken strips. Staff is very friendly. The only problem I had was they ran out of Yuengling at 6 oclock on a Friday! How does any bar let that happen?

This has made a bad business trip way worth my stop in Charleston. Wish I would of knew about this place my first day here. Morris has probably been the best waiter I have ever had in my entire life, he was on top his game and even took care of the little things like shaking my ketchup bottle before placing on the table. It's the little things that count.

Below Average food. Poor Service The restaurant was very much in need of some type of cleaning. Lots of waiters leaning on post and counters, but certainly not cleaning. I had Firecracker Shrimp. Nasty. They had not been cleaned, and there were about 7 of them. They had been frozen and dried out before they cooked them, then they threw some nasty sauce on them. My friend had pick two lunch. When she asked what the soup was, the waiter ran back to the kitchen then came back and bellowed that they still had a pan of shrimp bisque left over from the day before, so that is the soup of the day. Oh Yum!

I've been a Fatz lover for several years but we haven't been going very often. My daughter and I were out having a girls shopping night and I convinced her to go here for dinner tonight. The service was good. The tea delicious as always. But my salad was very small portion in a large bowl but it was good. I had the pick 2 mix and match and was very disappointed by the loaded calabash chicken baked potato. It was supposed to be have small pieces of their chicken fingers on it but it literally had two crumb size pieces. That is not an exaggeration. I wish I had thought to take a pic of it. It was extremely disappointing. And for the price of just two meals and drinks I thought it was pricey.

Great food great service.I got the chicken fingers and ribs combo.Chicken Fingers were great and so were the baby back ribs. The Carolina mustard sauce they used was great. Usually when visiting other cities I stay away from chains but this was right by the hotel.Hoping we get a Fatz in Orlando

I ate here last night for the little girl's birthday. The atmosphere was nice, the staff were great, it had an open floor plan, and the place was clean. I ordered the calabash shrimp and chicken. Both were pretty much cooked perfect, but could have used a few more spices in the batter maybe. The shrimp was obviously not fresh, but being a native of Charleston and used to local shrimp, it really wasn't bad. I really wish people understood the difference between honey mustard and mustard base that open businesses around here. The bbq sauce for the chicken was generic honey mustard. A few people at my table ordered the all-you-can-eat ribs. They were smothered in Kraft bbq sauce. If it wasn't Kraft, it pretty much tasted like it. The ribs were also stringy, if that's how you like your ribs. The hamburgers are pre-fabbed pressed burgers. Don't expect a handmade burger with love. For the price, it's not a bad place. I wouldn't recommend the burger or ribs, but that's just me. I don't appreciate frozen burgers or overcooked ribs with a cheap sauce. Grandma enjoyed her salmon with the spicy sauce, ?, and she's as finicky as they come on seafood. The rolls were 2.5 stars at best. They weren't bad, but I wouldn't brag about them either. The complementary birthday strawberry shortcake was probably the most ornately plated dish I've seen outside a sushi restaurant. All in all, I'd go back. I'd just be selective in what I order.

Had a wonderful server our first visit! The poppyseed rolls were good but a little too greasy for me. Food was cheap and the Shrimp & Grits meal I ordered was delicious! (Cheese grits, bacon, shrimp, mushroom gravy & shredded cheese). My husband enjoyed his chicken dinner as well and his plate was loaded with food. We will definitely be back!

The food was subpar, but the service from the waitress didn't help. I'm not sure if she was thrown off because it was busy or she honestly didn't feel like giving my table the time of day. Either way, this was my last visit to Fatz.

Great! Everything perfect, even though we arrived at 10pm....we flew in from Calif and were on different time schedule. Very, very nice people....not like at home. Manager even asked if all was okay. But, for you drinkers, our server told us that we could upgrade our liquor AND get a double (for my vodka and tonic) for $1.00. Amazing. Must be in the South....we have lots to learn in CA.

It was very late a night when we arrived at Charleston and besides fast food burger joints this was one of the only restaurants open. We were seated immediately. We ordered the combination seafood platter with their signature chicken. We were not disappointed, but pleasantly surprised at the quality of our food! The service was good. The restaurant was being remodeled so the inside was so-so when it came to cleanliness.

My family liked the food here but personally as a very picker eater, there was nothing for me to choose from but chicken tenders and I didn't like them that much. The waitress we had though was very friendly and even sat with us and made us laugh. Other than that, to me, it's just a typical restaurant.

Good chain restaurant. Eaten here a few times over the last 6 months. Love the Fried Green Tomato appetizer. The salads ares excellent, and the service is always southern friendly.. I have tried a number of things on the menu, and never have I tried anything I did not like..

Decent American chain restaurant. This is the second one I've ever been to. THe first one being in Florence, SC. For me, it's all about 2 things. The rolls and the Sweet Potato Fries! They are excellent and I definitely recommend you try them anytime you go. Everything else is pretty decent or average. For desert I had the fried oreo cookies. They weren't the best things, but for $2 and change, it's a nice little desert to end your meal

Average chain food. Burger over cooked fried chicken sample was good but overall I would equate it to Applebee's

First time eating at this chain and yes it is similar to a chili's/applebees except that it has a southern flare. I was impressed with their free sample of calabash chicken and the lunch prices were really good. $7 for a sandwich and side and grilled veggie skewers were delicious. Glad I don't live near one of these or I would be tempted to return and between the free honey butter rolls and the yummy fried chicken, I'd be putting on the pounds!

My husband, son and I took a visit downtown today (9/09/2012) and we chose to not eat there, but to come to Fatz on Centre Pointe because we were so impressed the first time we ate here. We are from Louisiana , so we know great food when we taste it. We were not disappointed. The food was outstanding! We simply coul not eat all that food! The Hospitality Specialist was AWESOME. His name was Bo and he made our choice to drive from downtown to Centre Pointe and eat at Fatz well worth it. I highly recommend this restaurant and also recommend to ask for the section that Bo will working because he was all that, awesome and more. Did I mention the food was awesome? Lol. So many of these highly recommended restaurants serve bland food. Not here. Try it before you knock it. It is really great

As good as it gets! Our waiter asked if we had eaten at Fatz before and most of our party had not. She offered us a free appetizer of chicken strips to start off! They were a little greasy, but who's complaining? The waiter actually took time to explain the items to us and tell us what where the highlights on the menu. I got the chicken pot pie with a side of sweet potato fries. Both were very good! Everyone at our table was happy with the food (3 of them got the steak tips). Not to mention the poppyseed rolls were great! With the cinnamon butter they were almost like a dessert! I have nothing to complain about and the service was EXCELLENT! The waitor was exceptional and the manager came to our table twice, once to ask how our food was and other to say he was sorry for the wait on our sides. What wait? We had not been waiting that long and the waiter had already brought us drinks, chicken strips, and two baskets of poppy seed rolls. Better than the Fatz in Charlotte!

Every time I've been here the service has been terrible, and the food isn't great either. I know it's a chain restaurant and that leaves me with little hope to begin with but we decided to try it and I must say we gave this place a few tries and they were all the same. Terrible service and terrible food.

My co workers were raving about this place so they took me out there the night before we left town. I had high expectations. I wasn't feeling any fried food because I had fried food for the past three previous nights. I believe this is where I went wrong. I ended up ordering the pasta. Ehhh...... Not too good. I should've just went with the super unhealthy fried food instead of something. Their "kicking crab chowder" soup was pretty good though and the rolls are very oily but very good! I wasn't too impressed but then again, perhaps it was my own fault to order pasta at this joint. One of my co workers ordered one of the steaks and he wasn't very thrilled either. They do give good portions though.

IDK but I LIKED this place! It's close to work, so I stopped and grabbed takeout on my way back to my hotel. The people that worked there were super-nice and the food was good! I had the pimento cheeseburger [it has fried green tomatoes on it too] and some bbq chicken nachos. I will definitely go back!

(3)Saundra J.

Very good food and very good service. Here for a conference and was told to go. I highly recommend this place and will be back!
(4)Kasey A.
Fantastic customer service! Love that they give you samples if it's your first time. Chicken is moist and perfect and the poppy seed biscuits are to die for.
(5)Shannon S.

(1)Cynthia Z.
(3)Steven N.
The food was good the waitress was nice but didn't bring salad out first so I gave a 4
(4)Marian H.

(3)Brandon H.

(5)Keith B.
I wish they had one in Va. Beach. Amazing chicken strips. Staff is very friendly. The only problem I had was they ran out of Yuengling at 6 oclock on a Friday! How does any bar let that happen?
(4)Tony S.
(5)Weime L.

(3)Lauren T.
(4)Craig H.
We go a lot & always have a good service. It is a nice family place, with amazing food.
(5)Mike S.
The food and service is always great. Jeffery was my server and was very attentive and pleasant. I has the Parmesan Fish with rice and broccoli and it was delicious. The rolls and butter are addictive, so be careful not to spoil your appetite!!
(5)Meme D.
The food was subpar, but the service from the waitress didn't help. I'm not sure if she was thrown off because it was busy or she honestly didn't feel like giving my table the time of day. Either way, this was my last visit to Fatz.
(2)C C.
(5)Teresa W.
(4)Dominick M.
My family liked the food here but personally as a very picker eater, there was nothing for me to choose from but chicken tenders and I didn't like them that much. The waitress we had though was very friendly and even sat with us and made us laugh. Other than that, to me, it's just a typical restaurant.
(3)D Z.
Amazing food, wonderful service. Definitely going back when I go back to SC.
(5)Frank S.
Good average food place good service food was good on tap selection pretty good price was very reasonable. Nothing overly exciting to address...
(3)Debbie B.
Get their Fried Green tomatoes! They are incredible! We had excellent service here even though it was very busy :) The food came hot and delicious. only drawback was the chocolate cake. It was featured as THE BEST but the piece we received was a bit dry.
(5)Matt H.
Despite poor reviews went ahead and tried it anyway. The food was pretty good and very filling with good size portions. Our waiter was very good too
(4)Ricky W.
Good chain restaurant. Eaten here a few times over the last 6 months. Love the Fried Green Tomato appetizer. The salads ares excellent, and the service is always southern friendly.. I have tried a number of things on the menu, and never have I tried anything I did not like..
(3)Frederick L.
(3)Frank R.
Average chain food. Burger over cooked fried chicken sample was good but overall I would equate it to Applebee's
(3)Charleston Fresh S.
Biggest burger in the south. U really get full off of theses burgers.
(5)Nicole F.
(3)Christine S.
It is really great
(4)E R.
(5)Kris G.
Every time I've been here the service has been terrible, and the food isn't great either. I know it's a chain restaurant and that leaves me with little hope to begin with but we decided to try it and I must say we gave this place a few tries and they were all the same. Terrible service and terrible food.
(1)H R.
Our server Chris was very nice. However, the food they serve is contributing to the dumbing down of people's palates. We should have gone next door to 5 Guys.
(1)Smitcha B.
(2)Christopher M.
Turned out to be another chilis/applebees type of place. But I loved their buns and the service was outstanding.
(2)Mykal P.
Love this place. They have great lunch specials and if you sign up for the newsletter you get a free meal for you bday. The staff is always very friendly.
(5)nerd h.
(4)A. B.
I wasn't too impressed with this place. The atmosphere is nice and the service is friendly but there isn't much to like about the food selection.
