After months of walking past Capriz, we finally checked it out on Easter with my mom and step father. The wait staff was super friendly, even to my step father, who tends to always find something to complain about. The salad bar was a mini version of Rioz. I really enjoyed the olive and cheese selection. My favorite as well as my daughter's was the penne with vodka sauce. Nicely cooked pasta with a tangy, creamy sauce. I think I tasted a hint of roasted red pepper. Our entire table couldn't get enough of the sirloin. The waiter brought out chicken nuggets on a skewer for my son so he felt like he was a part of the whole experience without having to eat pesky grown up food! The initial meatballs that we had were unbelievably dry, but of course my step father complained and we were brought out a bowl of new meatballs by the manager. These were fabulous, sausage and beef, tender with a traditional tomato sauce. I usually never like restaurant meatballs, but these were an exception. I can't wait to go back to Capriz. The concept, price and atmosphere is all right on point.

After writing my 5 star review a year ago, I am sadly disappointed to leave 2 stars now. This restaurant has really gone down hill in the past year and I don't plan on returning. Service is lacking and not too friendly now. They have changed the outdoor seating to picnic benches (really tacky) and they don't even offer service outside anymore. Inside, the place is just plain filthy, trash all over the floor, tables are sticky, and plates don't look too clean. Their happy hour prices and menu has changed drastically (no longer offer pizza). This restaurant was my favorite spot for happy hour in Myrtle Beach. I went there 3 times during my visit a year ago. This last visit (August), I couldn't wait to leave and never return. Sorry Capriz, you disappoint me and you won't be getting my business anymore.

I've been coming to Myrtle Beach for years. My parents and I wanted to try something new for dinner tonight. Capriz was a mistake! I've been to this kind of restaurant before, so we were excited to go. The food was not good! We kept asking for a certain dish, penne vodka, but it wouldn't come. We kept getting the same things offered to us, (pepperoni pizza, mac and cheese, seafood pizza, etc) but not what we kept asking for. The restaurant atmosphere is good and our waiter, Tim was very good, but we definitely will not be returning.

Went with a group of 7 and all agreed that It's unique, but during their low season this place failed to impress. We were one of maybe 5 tables so the pastas kept getting recycled and the ones that no one liked kept coming back looking for a home in one of our stomachs. The salad bar is the only saving grace for this place. Alot of good options and cheeses, just a bit underwhelming. If the place was packed, it might be a different story. One coworker said its a 2 star place but I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt.

I can see where this might be a really fun place to go as a group or with large family. ( and there were plenty of both there) . The same concept as the Brazilian Steak houses, servers bring you pasta , pizza and meat choices table side for you to choose from. What we liked - At 19.99 it was not cheap but no more expensive than many of the seafood places at the beach that serve primarily fried food. The pasta was fresh tasted homemade - Vodka sauce was excellent with just little in heat, Clams and linguine was very nice as well could actually taste the subtle hint of wine- Pizza crust was very good - Salad Bar had very nice options including cold salads, cheese, hard meats , and three hot choices Service was excellent, managers and wait staff alike are very attentive, and really seem to want to please. They seem very well staffed and organized. What we were not thrilled with- Bread on the salad bar was a bit stale , okay with olive oil - but would prefer fresh baked for our table. Meat - not as flavorful as many steaks I have had - in general not a fan of meat on a stick but considering they cook in volume it was not bad , just not to my taste. noisy- and hectic feeling - not the place for an intimate meal but we knew that - I am not faulting them for it, just noting if you want a quiet conversation not the place for that Some of the pasta was not as hot as it could have been. Because they are serving table side, the sauces are 'less' plentiful - DH prefers more sauce on his pasta. Overall the food was good- price was reasonable ( considering what you get.) As we get older I think we need to focus on the smaller menus and quieter venues I think we are just not all you can eat people. This company also owns Liberty, T-Bonz and Flying fish. They are smarter options for us, since we can get just what we want and not be tempted to overeat. While we love to see families out , and I have to say all the children there were very well behaved today! Some real cuties - we like quieter meals - (old grumps that we are) I would definitely recommend to those who have meat lovers and even those who lean toward vegetarian should be able to fill up on salad bar. For a group of friends I bet you could have a great time. But for a couple -looking for a nice meal to chat etc. try one of the other franchise entries. Total was 47 and some change - no alcohol or dessert .

Great food, good service. Neat concept. Only "complaint" I have is the initial server me and my wife had. He may have been new. He was a little nervous it seemed. Anyhow, he refilled my drink on the table, spilled some, then took the glass off the table to fill the rest noting that he had spilled some. Put the glass right down onto the coke that he just spilled--no attempt to clean it up. I was surprised. I finally asked for another napkin so I could clean it myself. No big deal really. But that was my only complaint. Great ambiance too!

The Brazilian steakhouse experience goes Italian and succeeds. Hot of the oven Italian delights served right to your table when you want and as much as you want. It's non-stop food at this literally, one of a kind eatery that was the perfect place to end our vacation. Hope it expands up north.

Oh my! This place was a huge disappointment, which is unfortunate because I think the concept is great. The Mac and cheese on the salad bar was good, but other than that none of the items on the salad bar were edible. Hopeful that the 2nd course of meats and pastas would be better, we stuck around for the main courses. More disappointment. The steak was as tough as shoe leather, the shrimp scampi and sausage were so salty they were inedible. 75% of the time they were trying to serve pizza rather than the more expensive dinner options. Numerous times we had to ask for dishes like spaghetti and meatballs! The one dish I did enjoy was the cheese ravioli, but only the first time around. When they brought seconds of the ravioli, it was very oily. But what clinched the fact that we won't return was the condition of the men's bathroom. There was urine streamed all over the floor, and they didn't bother to clean it up! Only put a 'wet floor' sign out for CYA in case someone slipped. My husband said there was an employee in the men's room using the facility, but he didn't care about the condition. The women's room had a huge puddle on the floor and no sign. Definitely not returning here. Is there a way to post a pic? Took one of the men's room floor- just horrid!

We didn't really know what to expect when our party of 7 descended on the brand spanking new Capriz Italian Feast after seeing a show nearby. As we were seated, we were presented the red/green flip coasters and our drink order was taken. Wait, what? This is Brazilian? But it says Italian in the name! Well guess what...it's both! So for ~$20 a person, you will eat to your death - unlimited salad bar, pastas and Brazilian style meats. The salad bar reminded me of Fogo de Chao; greens, pasta salad, charcuterie, cheeses and the like. As I nibbled on prosciutto and cheese, our table was soon approached with meat skewers and pastas. There was lasagna, ziti with giant meatballs, chicken parmesan, chicken marsala, drumsticks, pork, beef, pasta carbonara - just an endless parade of delicious food. I had the white sangria to go with my meal but found it to be a little too sweet. Go with the red instead. And don't forget to save room for dessert! I had the cannolis which were really good. I ended up taking one of them home because I was stuffed but I mean, even if you're full...get them to go. Everyone else had gelato and sorbet and thoroughly enjoyed them. Capriz was a nice change of pace from the usual Myrtle Beach dining haunts. I'd totally come again.

Kudos to the bartenders Nelsy and Ally (not sure if I heard her name right) for making our happy hour the BEST!!! Nelsy was the only bartender that could make a Grateful Dead for my friend. It's been years since he had one too. Others tried but Nelsy did it right. It was perfect! We had such a great time there that we came back two days later on a Sunday to see Nelsy. She was off and that's when we met Ally. She was cool and gave us good advice on where to go and what to see in Myrtle beach. This place offers $1 PBR beer and the drinks are made perfect everytime. Great place for happy hour.

Wow I was truly impressed the salad bar was outstanding and the variety of meats and pastas all good not to mention the delicious pepperoni pizza no room for desert our server Alisha was great as was the rest of the staff. Good cosmos too! All for $20 minus drinks.

Happy hour rocks from 4-8 pm! $5 spaghetti with meatballs! Mussels were decent, white wine sauce was excellent with bread (asked for more and received a trough of bread) for only $4. Blackberry peach margaritas were YUMMY (only $4 too)! Hubby enjoyed $3 Jack and Cokes. Service was fantastic, especially for an inexpensive afternoon at the Broadway.

ohhh, this is a WHOLE lotta food going on. It's like the amazing race of eating. Our game plan was to finally try out Rioz...they have a 1/2 off deal on Sundays, but everyone in town is on to that little plan. The manager handed us discount passes to Capriz, which we had never heard of, so we thought ...sure we'll check it out. Soooo, glad we did! They were super quiet and the service was great! For $15 (w/the pass), we enjoyed unlimited salad bar, skewered meat service, and unlimited pastas.. There is way more than just regular salad items on the bar...this is more of an anti-pasta bar. They had seafood risotto! We went on a Sunday night and they were slow, so they only had 4 different kinds of meat, but all were great and honestly I couldn't have eaten another bite. I am gluten-free and they made my pasta to order w/sauce. For my friends, they brought by at least 8 different kinds of pasta.... lasagne, spagetti/meatballs, chick parm/marsala/lemon chicken... I lost count honestly. I was full off what I ate. Oh, and of course bread. It's one of the best deals in town in my opinion. Great little place. Go, stuff your face!

We went here as a family and really enjoyed it. There was something for everyone. The salad bar was excellent (everything from salad, pasta, shrimp, cured meats). The service was outstanding! The restaurant itself was inviting, modern, and clean. The main course dishes that were brought by the table were very good and the servers would give you as much or little as you wanted. We will be back on our next visit to MB.

Haven't been there since August 2012, but can't wait to return this August.... loved the salad bar and all the entrees...but especially wanted to say how unbelievable the sangria is...no one seemed to mention it... I cannot wait to have dinner and drinks at Carpriz! See you in August!

I was floored by the amazing service, food and management here! I have celiac disease, so eating at any restaurant is usually a huge challenge for me. I didn't expect an Italian restaurant of all places to cater to someone like me, but as soon as I told the waiter that I cannot eat foods containing gluten, he brought out the manager (Chris) and he assured me that I would be taken care of. He asked me if there was anything in particular that I would like to have that's gluten free and I told him that I would love a gluten free pizza and pasta with Alfredo. While they custom made my order, I enjoyed the food from the buffet area and the awesome steak & veggies that were being brought out to me by the friendly staff. Later, the chef and the manager both came out to deliver my own personal large gluten free pizza and a huge pasta dish with some of the best steak I've ever had! They were so amazing. At the end of the night, I was welling up with tears of joy because of how awesome the staff and management treated someone like me. It was indeed the most memorable dining experience of my life! I will most certainly return during my next trip to Myrtle Beach! Thank you Capriz!

Horrible service. Freakin' waiter and servers barely came around. After I brought it to their attention, they seemed to get worse. Do NOT give these people your $$$!!!

  • Mimi N.

Huge disappointment. The way this goes is you get some stuff from the buffet then waiters come around to your table with different foods and you get some of what you like (and they all give you completely different amounts...). The buffet was absolutely TERRIBLE. The only good thing there was bread. They should know better than to put pasta in a buffet.... It obviously was horribly overcooked, bit to mention that none of it had any taste whatsoever. I'd have better luck in a school cafeteria. I tried a few of the pastas they came around to the tables with, and only one was enjoyable. The others didn't taste like anything. Most of the items here have zero flavor, are not cooked correctly, or quite often both. Very disappointing.

  • Kim T.

It's certainly a unique experience. They took the Rioz experience and applied it to Italian food which would be great if the pasta dishes were better quality. I tried a little bit of everything and to me, the gnocchi Florentine was the best. Their macaroni and cheese was watery and tasteless, the lasagna was bland and the spaghetti noodles were overcooked. They had a great salad bar though, much like the one in Rioz. The meats that the gauchos brought around were good too but the pasta dishes were really hit or miss. But considering you can get as many servings of whatever pasta you like it's still worth trying. The service is excellent and the ambiance is pretty nice. Just don't expect authentic or gourmet Italian food.

So this place was recommended to us by a nice Brookstone employee and we're so glad she told us about it. For $20 you get all you can eat pastas, pizza, swordfish, steak, chicken, and some type of pork (I don't eat pork so can't even remember if it was sausage or something else). You can literally sit there for 3 hours stuffing your face with all their excellent choices. I was very pleased. The pizza was good. The salad bar was good. The steak was very yummy being that this wasn't a steak house. And of course, all the pastas were excellent. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area. And then work off all those carbs by walking around the area (super fun on Friday and Saturday nights to people watch).

We went here for the first time with friends after not being able to get into another place. What a wonderful surprise! The concept of this place is you pay a flat fee (19.95) and then you serve yourself off the salad bar and then as you eat 4-5 pasta dishes are served table side along with beef, pork, chicken, and sausage meats. The salad bar is a master piece with everything from olives to eggplant and everything was outstanding. I could easily make this my meal. The pasta dishes served table side hot and very good. You may eat as much as you like which is always a plus for me. The meats brought out were a surprise. Rib-eye steak sliced fresh onto your plate along with pork loin and chicken helped round out a wonderful meal. This could quickly become my favorite place to eat.

Came here with a group of friends, we had a blast, the service is super, Tim our "server" was remarkable! the food it yummy, and the salad bar is out of this world!

We went here for lunch and it was very affordable. They have huge portions ( we had pizza and a salad) so we had our food wrapped up and they held it as we walked around. During lunch we were able to order individual from a menu but when we went back to pick up our left overs we saw that each waiter was coming around to the table to serve various dishes.

On a recent trip to Myrtle Beach, SC we stopped and ate at Capriz Italian Feast (Located at Broadway at the Beach). We had a relatively large group (12 people) and arrived with no notice. It was a very busy night but were able to get a bunch of tables in the bar area. Our server was wonderful she immediately gave us all the options that were open to us (There is a limited menu in the bar area) including options that were not on the menu. They had reasonable choices for both adults and children. Our food was served quickly, very large portions for the $$$, and tasted great. We will defiantly return to this restaurant the next time in MB and have no problem recommending it to others

  • Charles W.

The food is ok, and the concept is great. The salad bar is pretty legendary. My main qualm is that there is actually too much pasta offered, but not enough meat dishes. I think this is because a larger group was heading the gauchos off at the pass. The dessert was good. The cannoli was OK, but my table went wild for the cabernet-flavored gelato. Great value.

We had no idea what to expect when we went in. We had gotten a coupon from the information center for Broadway At The Beach for 25 percent off and thought we'd give it a shot. SO glad we did. The experience from beginning to end was absolutely fantastic! You don't just get one person from the wait staff, they ALL help you. You get one person to start out with so you have someone familiar through your dining experience but if your glass (we had soda) even gets halfway empty someone comes out of nowhere and fills it back up. Soda was $2.50 each just keep in mind if your trying to save money. The salad bar is amazing as well. My favorite thing about it was the fresh cheeses you could get chunks of. (Bit of a cheese buff) :) When you're ready for the main course you just flip a card and extremely friendly and knowledgable people bring you anything from garlic steak (Cooked to your liking) to spaghetti to rigatoni in vodka sauce and much much more. In closing, at $20 a head, it was totally worth it! We're going back in a couple days!!!

Fantastic salad bar. It could be an exotic meal all by itself. My favorite was the parmesan crusted pork loin. The waitresses were more interested in the hostess stand than the guests. The food servers were very attentive in their place.

The two stars was based on the food only! The service was GREAT and 5 STARS for that! I'll keep this shor n sweet. The meat choices: 4, Steak which was real tasty, a chicken leg, meh, sausage, meh and some pork thing, meh. several different pastas which filed you up and then some pizza. Overall I just expected different with the food chocies. Again, the ENTIRE staff was perfect, just the food I wasnt a fan of.

Brutal, another two star review. Very friendly, very accommodating folks. That's the good. We went for lunch, that might have been the problem. It's no better than any other commercial chain at a strip mall. The menu was extremely sparse, most piizzerias do better. So, we went for the buffet, and I hate buffets to begin with, they're just gross (too many random people exposed to the food, and yes, I know what goes on in a kitchen). Regardless, it was as expected, terrible. Just go to the other fast food joints in that horrendous mall (amusement park?) and you'll do better. Sorry, guys, you were great, the food was just a mess. Edit: Received a message from one of their staff. It was very friendly and apologetic for my experience, just as they were on site. Hopefully, being somewhat new, they take the necessary steps to increase their offering at lunch, and improve the quality of their buffet items. Keep in mind, this is a tourist mall, so this place was probably on par with everything things else there, which would actually change the scale of the rating in their favor.

I was very surprised by how much I liked this place. $20 per person will get you unlimited salad bar, homemade pasta, and a variety of Brazilian-style meats. Each guest is given a circular disc that is green on one side and red on the other. If you want the offerings to keep coming, keep your disc faced on green. If you want to stop or pause, keep it on red. I stuck with the unlimited salad bar at a slightly lower price (around $17). This is not your typical romaine-and-tomatoes type salad bar. It has several types of green salads, pasta salads, hot eggplant rollatini, roasted potatoes, chicken salad, and Italian meats and cheeses. I was plenty happy and full just eating from the salad bar, although the pasta and Brazilian-style meats looked good as well. It was just too much food. The food itself is worth a 4, but the service was fantastic from start to finish bumping them up an extra star. Every waiter and waitress is responsible for taking care of you, so you're never left alone for too long and your drinks will never be empty. Definitely come here on a near-empty stomach.

Great Italian food and amazing service, we told our server we had 2 in our party with milk allergies and the kitchen gave us some special dishes without milk products like butter or cream or cheese which I'm sure isn't easy with Italian food so I'm so thankful for that, I tried out some of the plates and it was really good. The place is just like Rio's Brazilian steak house and they have a good selection and the wait staff was definitely workin together bc the aforementioned allergy was passed on to the other servers and the manager came around and let us know he was talking to the kitchen to make some dishes without the milk/butter so it was nice to see that the manager was involved, and he was kind and helpful Like their counter part bring the apatite once you flip your card to the green side the feast is on. Nice atmosphere and they have the salad bar as well with some great starters definitely worth checkin out

Good place to eat. Good service. Pizza was excellent. Would have liked some other Italian dishes like lasagna, and ravioli. No desserts. Food was good. Buffet style. All you can eat. Bit pricey.

The food and the service was really good, but I expected some more traditional Italian dishes like ravioli, lasagna and veal or chicken parmigiana.

We went for dinner/lunch, arrived around 4pm, place was not busy but everything was fresh, staff was very courteous and anxiously waiting to serve my family. Food on the salad bar was excellent and fresh, and the food served table side was to die for, excellent experience all around. This is our 2nd trip to Capriz and we will most definatley return!

Excellent guest/customer service -- The door was opened for us as we approached, we were seated immediatly, and had our drinks delived to our table within 5 minutes of walking in. A gentleman that may have been the manager stopped by our table as we were eating and checked in to make sure everything was ok...and offered a little info regarding the food preparation. The food runners/gauchos were constantly moving from table to table offering up their items. Food -- Multiple pasta dishes available at any given time. Chicken alfredo was nice, not much seasoning though. The macaroni and cheese was delicious! I didn't personally care for the vodka sauce, but my fiance enjoyed it. The roasted meats were pretty good, although they didn't have quite the variety of Rioz...but Rioz doesn't have the pasta! The salad bar was interesting and a great way to start the meal as well. Pro -- I was actually impressed with the fact that they had chicken nuggets on skewers for the kids (I have no kids) to help them enjoy the experience. The price was very reasonable...about $20 per person for an all you can eat. Cons -- Can't really think of any.

    (4)
  • Adam A.

I came in with high hopes for a lighter alternative to Rioz, with more pasta options than meat. Unfortunately I was wrong. It is much cheaper than Rioz, at only $20 pp, but the "salad bar" is a lot smaller and nothing to get excited about. The servers coming around to the tables are mostly bringing meats (like Rioz) and pizza. The pastas are few and far between, and most are cream sauces and meat based. We had two vegetarians in our party that pretty much had a cheese pizza buffet with the salad bar as only one pasta option came around that didnt have meat or seafood in it (vegetarian risotto). There are much better Italian options in Myrtle, like Ciao, Lombardos, or Castano's in Barefoot Landing.

This place was a very nice surprise. It's the Italian version of Brazilian steakhouse. My 6 yr old loved it. The fresh made pasta and pizza was great. The meats were awesome. The salad bar was ok but the main event is the pasta and protein. Service was outstanding.

  • Zachary K.

Very interesting Italian place. Reasonable priced. Can stuff your face as much as you want. Salad bar was complete with what you'd expect. Lots of cold mayo based salads which were delish, hard meats (prosciutto, salami, etc.) and olives. Mussels were nice! Steak was marvelous, considering the style this restaurant is, and the sauces on the pasta were tasty. Pasta was a tad on the doughy side. Server was very attentive/helpful. Heck, even the manager was out rubbiWould certainly come again! Reminds me of tapas in a strange way...

I tried it today. Wow. My wife and I loved it. Waiters must have stopped by our table thirty times or more. My beverage was kept in a constant state of fullness. The service was great. The food was great. The concept was fun. This is the first of this type of restaurant I have ever been to. They start you out with a kind of an antipasta bar. Help yourself. But do not fill up. Once you flip your "card" from red to green, the food starts coming. There was garlic steak, Chicken legs, (roasted), Six types of pasta dishes. It was very good. I would recommend it. But go hungry and plan to roll out of there stuffed.

One of the most enjoyable happy hours I have had in a long time. This place has $4 small plate offerings which are wonderful. We had spaghetti and meatballs and fresh garlic knots. They were great! Additionally, the drinks were delicious. We will definitely go back before leaving Myrtle Beach.

Stopped in on a rainy day while going to wonderworks for lunch. Wife and I had the italian salad bar which included some seafood, antipasto and of course salad duh...not bad of a deal for 12.99. 4 year old had pasta and meatballs and 13 year old had chicken parm. That she enjoyed. Service was great.

This is by far one of the coolest dining experiences I have had. If you're visiting Broadway at the Beach you have to stop here. First, for $19.95 you get an all you can eat Italian meal. You start with a antipasti bar, with clams, mussels, breads, cold pasta salads and much more. You are given a card with green on one side red on the other. You flip to green and people carrying different types of meat or pasta come to you and offer you some. They keep coming until you turn your card red. The service was awesome. There were three servers taking care of us. Everyone was very attentive and courteous. We will be coming back here for sure. This is part of the chain that owns Tbonz, Rioz, Libery, and I think another, so you know it's good.

  • Michelle D.

Solid bet on good eats at Broadway! The garlic steak is divine. We didn't even need steak knives. Pasta dishes are fine, but after we tried them we settled in on the steak. Just keep asking for it and they'll keep bringing it. Our servers were great, and a manager stopped by the table several times to see how we were. Can't ask for more than that. Didn't try the desserts, just too stuffed with steak to think about sweets. We felt like we easily got our $19.95 each.

Came to this place as a last resort when everything else was packed and was pleasantly surprised. Really nice salad bar, and they continually bring food to your table until you cant eat anymore. I liked pretty much everything they brought over. There was one pork dish I didnt like but that was personal preference and not that it was gross or anything. I can't comment on the desserts but they kept the drinks coming and were more than polite. This is not the first place I would choose, but I wouldn't be disapointed if I ended up here.

Interesting twist on the Brazilian Steakhouse theme. Smaller # of meat items, but add in a few pasta dishes. Staff was very helpful with our large group. The salad bar is less of an actual salad bar but more of an appetizer bar. This restaurant serves its purpose well.

Came on a whim after taking a lap at Broadway at the Beach. Upon entering, the decor of the establishment is impressive and different from other restaurants in the complex in that it is sleek and modern in the atrium, and homestyle-ish in the dining areas. Our waitress was oblivious, brought us a virgin margarita when we ordered an alcoholic one, and was aloof to us the rest of the stay. The salad bar was decent but nothing to brag about... Did not have the meat and pasta buffet as we were sufficiently satiated with the salad buffet. I would say though that it seems like a fun place for a family gathering, but not so much for a couple.

GREAT FOOD& SERVICE! After reviewing all the restaurants in the area, we decided to try out Capriz. We were not disappointed! The food was great, hot and fresh. The salad bar was absolutely delicious, and had a ton of options. Our waitress was very helpful and attentive. She explained the whole dining experience to us, was always bringing us fresh plates, clearing away our dirty ones, and refilling our drinks. The only con I have is that I wish there were more options to choose from in terms of the entrées. Overall an excellence experience. We will definitely be back next time we're in the area!

Rename it Ca-boom or ca-blows. There wasn't anything about the food that wasn't terrible. Wait staff was nice as can be and quick but the food was criminal.

Stopped in for a glass of wine- stayed for 3 hours enjoying outdoor bar & happy hour prices. We had bruschetta, Sicilian shrimp, & spinach & artichoke dip. GREAT service & even better happy hour prices. This is great place to go kids have plenty of room to move & good food & price. We will be back.

My wife and I had the pleasure of dining here on their opening week. It was so great, we must dine here every time we are in myrtle. Great food, excellent service, great value...I couldn't ask for more...except to open a Capriz in Columbus, OH

Ate here while we were stuck at Broadway during a rain storm.....SO happy we were! This was one of the best places we've been....the salad bar is wonderful the seafood salad was excellent, the steak was so good! Greek pizza was so good we are thinking of going back just to order pizza! Will be back again and again!!!

Set up like a Brazilian steakhouse....fixed price and card at table you flip to say stop or ready. Servers come around to your table with a lot of food! Food was okay but wasn't overly impressed. People friendly and owner was onsite. Only go if very hungry because you will pay for and get a great deal of pasta!

  • Olamipo A.

Excellent service and great food. The salad bar was filled with olives, cheeses, pasta salads, among other things. As you're finishing off the salad, hot pasta and various meats are brought to your table- all for just $20! Can't beat that for a deal. Loved the chicken picata!

  • Delia E.

Although I loved the salad bar and all the variety there I was not at all impressed with the pasta dishes that are brought to the tables. I think the pesto chicken pasta was alright but the rest of the dishes weren't very hot and none of the dishes tasted like authentic Italian food which I'm used to. All of these dishes tasted as though they could have been part of a frozen tv dinner of some sort. The meats brought to the tables were ok- decent flavor for the steak and chicken, but nothing spectacular. If you like authentic Italian, this isn't the place for you, but if you are interested in a great salad bar and a bit of pasta, then worth a try.

My wife and I were here in 2012 & 2103. We were planning on coming tonight for my wife's birthday. After reading all of the bad reviews for the 2015 re-opening with lower quality & service, we have decided to take our vacation dollars to another place we know is good. Maybe you will manage to improve everything but until then, we won't return.

We come here every year! That being said, this place is no longer a table side Brazilian buffet, yet they charge the same price as they used to! Now you get Olive Garden breadsticks (the ones you can never figure out if they are toasty or stale), and your choice of 4 pastas, 4 sauces, and 4 meats. Blah. Salad bar has been chopped way down and no longer offers any foods of value. It used to have crusty breads, cheeses, olives and peppers, and yummy side dishes. Now it's some sad lettuce, and generic salad toppings. Servers seem just as busy and distracted as they were when they used to serve the food, just not sure why now. Total bill for 2 adults and 2 kids with no alcohol or dessert was well over $100. Won't eat here again unless they change it back.

This place...YUCK!!! The worst "Italian" food I have ever had, not even Olive Garden quality. My husband and I went here while on a romantic getaway, never again. We could have saved a lot of money and just bought chef boy r' dee, that is the quality of this place;however; the can chef boy would have at least been warm. The pizza was dry and cold, same for the pasta. I cannot believe it was $50 dollars for the slop we had. I actually got sick to my stomach from the food, we did not stay long, I did not even finish anything on my plate. We had to leave there and go to dinner elsewhere. Please everyone save your money and chose somewhere else.

The best part about our experience was the server. He was attentive and never made us wait for anything. The pasta was decent, but it's not being freshly made. It's box pasta being dropped in hot water when you make your pasta request. The biggest disappointment was the pasta sauce. If you specialize in pasta, then your sauces should be exemplary. Unfortunately, it was not exemplary...I was underwhelmed. I did, however, really enjoy the vodka sauce, the beef meatballs and the turkey meatballs. I don't eat pork, but my family members who do had mixed feelings about the house meatball. The salad bar was decent, but because it's touted as an unlimited pasta and salad bar I just expected more. The overall experience was good. If you're really in the mood for pasta, pasta and more pasta, then this is definitely the place for you!!

Last time we were here in 2013 we loved the place. This time not so much. Really disappointed that they changed and do not have the wait staff bringing the food choices to your table. I can't say that I was impressed with any of the food and what happened to the pizza. Only good thing was our waiter. Needless to say I won't be going back.

Love this place! And have never even eaten their pizza. Make sure you go there HUNGRY! Website says "Capriz Italian Feast will be closing for the off season beginning November 27th 2014 Capriz Italian Feast at Broadway at the Beach will be closed for the winter season to renovate and retool the concept. At this time, there are no further details on the renovation or retooling of the concept as everything is in the beginning stages. The plan is expected to be completed Spring 2015" Hopefully they will reopen soon!

Walking inside I appreciate the great decor and modern feel with a traditional italian throw back. The place looked very clean. The seating isn't particularly comfortable which I assume is on purpose since it a buffet. $20 ish a person... There is a regular menu too I believe. We all chose the buffet option which is a cold bar of meats, cheese, salads, bread, and more. Most of it was very good, some needed more flavor, which I assume is most people's complaints about the quality probably has gone down a bit and the flavor with it, but overall it was good. After stuffing yourself on the cold bar the waiters walk around all carrying different dishes of hot plates, family style casseroles of steak, chicken, raviolis, pastas, etc. I noticed regardless of my "flip card" red/no, green/yes, they would ask if anyone would like a portion. Most were good, nothing was amazing. The bar on the right side corner of the building has a great happy hour special $2 for one slice of pizza and a PBR. Wow the pizza was amazing! I tried the white pizza and the bacon pizza, both were wonderful.

Was here on Monday the 10th. First time back since they reopened. The concept has changed, they no longer serve you at the table, all the food is buffet style now. Everything was very good. I had steak, chicken, house meatballs, ghocci with pesto, penne with bolognese sauce, manicotti, as well as a nice cold salad to start. The warm breadsticks were also good. I'm glad they reopened but miss the table service and Brazilian steaks and chicken, it's what I thought set them apart from the other buffets in town. Go hungry and enjoy.

Well sad to say but this restaurant went from a Brazilian steakhouse style to a buffet with a horrible salad bar and box pasta. The meatballs were dry and the sauces had to come from a jar. Last time I was here the food was excellent but it's clear they have chosen cheap food to make more profits. Price was outrageous for what we received and i can honestly say this place won't be here by next year. It was empty which should have been a clear sign to me. Service was fine no complaints there but with the food being what it was, Never again.

Do yourself a favor and go here, every day you are at the beach. We stayed at the Fairfield Inn across the street from Broadway at the Beach, and were looking for a Happy Hour spot to plant ourselves. Now if you know my husband, once he finds something he likes he sticks with it. We found Capriz on the first day and went here every afternoon after until we left. We even brought friends that were staying in North Myrtle. They literally have one of the best happy hours I have ever been to. Ever. From 4-7 We sat outside on their covered porch at the bar. We made sure we got there exactly at 4 and didn't leave until 7. They have $5 martinis, which I think I had about all of them (all good, but my favorite was the espresso martini), and $3 domestics. You can also get a pitcher of PBR and a large pizza for $15. Something that we did on the first day (and were so full). All of their food on the bar menu is excellent as well. We tried the pizza (good), the muscles (first timer on those and my husband devoured about 3/4 before I could get through 5). But let me tell you, my favorite was definitely the fried mozzarella. The waitstaff knew who we were by the second day, and were remembering our drinks within the first hour of being there. They were great!

For $20 a person, not including drinks or dessert, you really can't beat this place. The food is good, it is not a cafeteria quality buffet. However, this is not fine dining, either. The current average of 3.5 stars I feel is accurate. Maybe considering this is a buffet the rating should be more like 4 since most buffets are glorified cafeteria food at best. To start, there is a salad bar that has some nice items. There are marinated olives, pasta salads with and without meat, roasted veggies, Tuscan potatoes, salami, pepperoni along with a few choices of bread. Everything I tried was good. Once finished with the salad bar, my fiancé and I turned over our cards to green, which meant the circulating main course items would start arriving. Out of 15 items they claimed to offer that night, we saw them all. There were 4 different types of pizza (some vegetarian friendly), Parmesan steak (meat eating fiancé said to skip), chicken nuggets (for the kids or kids at heart), spaghetti with meatballs, gnocchi with a cream sauce, blackened chicken alfredo, cheese ravioli with pesto sauce (intense raw garlic flavor...I didn't mind but it would probably overpower most!), shrimp scampi pasta...some chicken pasta and some pasta with sausage, spicy tomato sauce pasta...that's all I can remember specifically. Our main server was very nice as were the servers passing around the main courses. Some were more enthusiastic than others, but all were professional. Overall a good experience for an all you can eat style buffet.

the set up is similar to a Brazil on steak house. The cold bar has some great antipasti selections but be careful not to go over board or you will be to full for the second corse as they call it. The muscles in red sauce were great, Mabey my favorite thing there. The second course comes with your green card up and I recommend the white pizza, and garlic steak. Skip the pork tenderloin and mac and cheese, neither are anything to text home about and Better dishes come around. Many of the pasta dishes where good as well

Really good food. $20 for adults and $9 for under 12, all you can it. Not a traditional buffet, more in the Brazilian way. Great service, plenty of choices for everyone. We ate here with 4 kids aged 14 to 10. All were happy with their food.

    (4)
  • Christina R.

The setup really isn't my thing. The first course is a salad bar-buffet setup, which is totally fine. The second course consists of folks bringing things by your table, and if you want it you can have it. I sort of grew tired of the conversation being interrupted every time someone came by with a different dish (averaged about once every two minutes or so). However, a possible Khal Drogo impersonator was one of the guys bringing food by, so that was cool. The food is decent, the setup is interesting, but ultimately not my first choice in restaurants.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. We aren't sure if our experience was typical since the revamp or if a slow, rainy, Sunday night is just a poor time to choose buffet Italian fare. It is $19.95 for all you can eat salad bar & a choose your own pasta, sauce, & topping bar. As someone else stated their formerly expansive salad bar has been trimmed way down, but what was there was ok. Various Precooked pasta is warmed to order at a station then you proceed to choose from 4 different meatballs, shrimp, Italian sausage & peppers, chicken, steak, pork loin etc then off to the sauces. They had marinara, Alfredo, vodka sauce, a spicy sauce I cannot remember the name of & a cheddar sauce. Manicotti & pesto gnocchi were also on the bar. We both loved the spicy sauce. I also had the cheddar which was fine but not memorable. I was very excited to see turkey meatballs offered, as I don't eat beef but, I was quickly disappointed. I expected them to be dry, but the flavor made them inedible for me. The spicy pork meatballs tasted much better, but were dry as sawdust. Shrimp was overcooked & not very good. Pork loin was fine. Gnocchi was dry and manicotti was decent but also dry. The sausage & peppers were decent. When capriz 1st opened the food and presentation were both exceptional & left everyone in my party satisfied & with a smile. Our visit last year was not nearly as memorable, but I feel it was still better than our most recent trip. Hopefully, the challenges of keeping buffet food fresh will soon be accomplished or they will return to their original format & glory. Perhaps go on what seems to be a busy day with quick turnover. Otherwise, the price would have to be lowered for me to return.

Have enjoyed Capriz in the past but last night's experience was not the norm. We had to flag down a server to request a waiter/waitress. We waited but had to start salad bar on our own. Once salad plates were cleared, we had to gather our own plates in order to be served main course . And then, at several points, had to wave food servers to come to our table. Usually an experience at Capriz is pleasant & easy. Not this time.

We went in right at the end of the lunch service and just before dinner had started. The lunch menu features a variety of sandwiches or salads as well as make your own pizza (you check off everything you want on it and they assemble and bake it). There is also a salad bar option that is filled with all sorts of pasta salads, vegetable salads, Caesar salad, bread, cheeses, sliced salami, pepperoni and prosciutto, as well as 3 hot pasta selections. Our service was excellent, the food was all really good and fresh. But we kind of wish we had gone in for dinner where servers go from table to table offering all sorts of Italian specialities from serving dishes they carry around with them. Overall it is a unique and fresh take on the Italian restaurant.

Like so many others who enjoyed Capriz last year, I was completely disappointed with the food and menu changes this year. The waitress was fine (just fine). The salad bar was still huge and the choices were fine (just fine). The pasta entrees were fine (just fine). My biggest problem is the quality of the food. The "caprese" salad was made with the wrong kind of cheese. The pesto was thin and had no basil flavor. As a whole, the pasta was Olive Garden quality. Worst was that the meat entrees that made the meal so good last year had been removed from the menu. We spoke to the manager who explained that the meats had been removed to make more of a distinction between Capriz and Rioz. I'm not sure we'll be back next year or not. I'd rather go to a typical menu based Italian restaurant.

A real disappointment. Went last two years. This year thet "changed business model". Completely different place. Salad bar pitiful. Really really pitiful. They have pasta that tasted like wall paper. Sauces horrible. Bad taste. Still have pizza but they charge extra for it. The restaurant was nearly empty. More staff onour side than diners. Overall i would never go back and do not recommend it. Overpriced for poor food. Sorry to be so negative but people should know how bad they have become.

Horrible food for happy hour! Their mussels are hella salty and their flatbreads are a joke. You call yourself Italian but this place is definitely Americanized. Definitely a tourist site but it's disappointing. The only good thing are their drinks. 1 star for their happy hour food. Service is a 2. Girl that waited in the beginning disappeared after our food was served. Their so called "Brazilian" chicken were just four regular fried drumsticks. Nothing special and nothing Brazilian. Full service bar and outside bar area with patio sitting is available.

The servers continually passed us up, the waitress was nice but not very attentive, our drinks were empty several times. Save your money and go to an Italian resturant where they cook the food fresh for you.

Did not know much about the restaurant until we walked in. It was late, about 9:50, but on vacation in Myrtle Beach, a lot of late nights. Once seated, saw the Rioz brand on the plates and made us excited as we have been to the steakhouse on many occasions. The food was very slow making it's way around, and most if it seemed like leftovers and they were hesitant to cook fresh as the apparently closed at 10:00. My daughter wanted cheese pizza, we asked for it and after 30 mins, still no cheese pizza (one waiter offered us margarita pizza saying it was like cheese??). After the long wait I asked for a manager. It took 10 mins, but Nicole finally came. I expressed my displeasure and she offered to buy us desert. We declined. Got the bill$75 for bad service and leftovers. Paid without tipping and left. Called back to get Nicole's name as I planned to call the GM. Nicole said she could not hear me and put me on hold. Moments later, a guy picked up the phone to "help me". I asked for Nicole and he said she was busy helping servers. I said I would wait and he told me it would be 30 minutes to an hour. Couple minutes later the line was disconnected. I called back and got Nicole. I verified her name and asked who had told me it would be an hour. She said she would check and this rude kid came in the phone. He told me that is wasn't 30 minutes for pizza, I was lying as he was our server. He went onto tell me that we came in 5 minutes before closing, it was our fault the service was bad. He accused me of not leaving my signed copy, inaccurate, and that I stiffed him on a tip (accurate). He said I was not going to get his manager in trouble. Unbelievably bad service during meal and after! While the review is a true refection of the poor service we received, i must say that i received a call from the co-owner, Mark, this morning (morning after). He let me tell my story and apologized for the way the manager/server acted. It does not change what happened, but it does show me that the owner's truly care about the service their employees deliver. It is clear to me that this type of service is not condoned by ownership or accepted. Due to Mark's quick response, i would be willing to give them another try. KK

When we walked into capris we were very impressed. We heard so many good things about this place. The one thing we didn't know this restaurant was this was a buffet style restaurant. The waiters walk around with trays of food and serves you. We thought wow this is nice. The food they brought out was cold and over cooked. We were very unhappy with our meal. The head chef and the manager came over to ask us what we thought about everything. We told them about the cold food. The manager was very professional about it. Not sure if we will return.

This was one of the most unique and satisfactory experiences I've had in a restaurant. It's a buffet style, but for anything other than salad and antipasti, they bring a large dish around the seating area. This causes the food to be generally fresh, which is a welcome addition. Everything was excellent when I went over vacation, and I cannot recommend Capriz highly enough Positives: 1) Variety of Italian dishes - something for everyone, even if you don't like pasta dishes 2) Quality of food - great steak, pasta, and antipasti 3) Location - Very easy to get to in an outdoor shopping center 4) Staff - On top of dishes, and happy to answer questions about food Middling Aspects: 1) Decor - I like it, but for some people it could be a bit dark 2) Acoustics - At peak times with children, it does get very loud Negatives: None

We went there late - around 9pm on a Monday. There were still some people in the restaurant, maybe 1/4 full or a bit less. The salad bar first course was ok, just ok. The second course it seemed like all the pastas were overdone, likely due to sitting around as we were not in "the rush" of the restaurant. I feel these places are better to go when there are tons of waiters walking around serving everyone. Here, we barely got to see everything on the menu. Don't go to one of these places off hours is my summary.

  • J T.

Very disappointing. We've gone each of the past 2-3 years and have loved this place. It used to be a cross between italian & Brazilian steak house. They decided to change that up sometime in the past year. No more meat, unless you like poor quality cuts with way too much sauce. The overall quality has really gone down. I asked one if the servers about the options available and he had no clue about options which were offered. Unreal. They changed a great thing to a awful thing. I will not return.

I really should have listened to the reviews. The food was ok just ok. You can get this type of food out of a box. The cost did not match the food. I paid $2.50 for a sprite that was with a 4 year old free meal. $83.00 including tips. Could have went to pizza inn for $25.00. Truly not attempting to insult the restaurant but it really was not worth it!!!

I was so impressed the first time we went to Capriz in October 2012 and was so looking forward to going back this past weekend. But I ended up leaving Saturday night quite disappointed. The salad bar is still awesome with all the different options and I love the focaccia bread. But the dishes they brought around were nowhere as good this time. The steak was tough, the macaroni and cheese--which had been my absolute favorite before--was undercooked, the vodka sauce dish too sweet. The leek ravioli was the best, although even that was a bit mushy. The pizza was good too, although I'm not really going some place like Capriz for pizza.

I'm sad to write this 2 star update. My first two visits to this place were wonderful but we went back last month and I was very sad. The place was packed with a wait so we sat in the bar. The server walked right by us.....several times. Eventually I had to ask him if he could come help us. When we went to the appetizer bar it was largely empty and the great Caprese we had on our earlier visit was gone, replaced by grape tomatoes and tiny little balls of mozzerella, not the same at all. I had to ask the gauchos to come to the bar area - finally after a long wait they started coming. The food was good but my bad experience this time is because of the service. After going up to the bar to ask our server to refill our drinks and asking for some coffee he finally came over and got the rest of the group their drinks. Quite awhile later, while he was helping the table next to us, I told him to just forget the coffee (it seemed like he already had anyway). His attitude was less than stellar. I unfortunately had talked this place up to my family who was visiting all day long so when we got there and got bad service, so bad one of them didn't even eat - we got her McDonalds on the way home, I was embarrassed. Then finally, as we were leaving, one of the hostesses was holding the door for people to walk in and let it close right on my and my stroller. A man outside shook his head and grabbed the door for me. I have no desire to visit this place again, which is too bad since it was going to be my go to place every time we were in Myrtle Beach. I suggest management have the staff where name tags to ensure better accountability. I did get our servers name from someone else as we were leaving, if management is interested in that information please contact me privately.

My wife had been here once before and recommended. Last time she would have given a 4 star. This time it was just ok. You get a nice variety but the food was just ok. For both of us and our 2 girls that ate for free it cost us $95 and that included tip. I had 2 glasses of wine and my wife had two cocktails. It seemed like a lot for a dinner at the beach for what we got now that we look back. Good, but not great.

An Italian restaurant that serves Brazilian style. Ok, interesting concept.........but. You can start off with the salad bar which has various items. Some cold cuts, cheeses, a few hot items etc.... Now you each get a card on the table with a red side and green side. As soon as you flip it to the green side, waiters will bring you the item they are carrying from the kitchen. Steak, chicken, sausage, pastas, etc...........Everything is ok, but nothing really special. If you aren't used to eating good Italian food, then you may love this. If you are like me, and come from an Italian family and the greatest Italian area in the country, then you wont be impressed.

I agree with Richard's review! I visited last year in May of 13 and was by far AMAZED! This Year I was Disgusted! The menu change is bland and unsatisfactory! I feel as if the price should have increased to attain the food quality! BAD CHOICE GUYS! It also showed, the place was deserted, and last year was full with half the guest being locals! GO BACK TO THE WAY IT WAS!

Awesome food! Great service! Great family restaurant! Kids eat free, what's better than that? Appetizers were fresh and had a great selection. The main courses were delicious. Only gripe is that desserts weren't included in the buffet price. But for $20 and all you can eat with kids under 5 rating free, I can't complain.

Food was fair...buffet but most of dishes empty Steak was very good when it was out! Salad bar pretty sad.. Cici's has more! Waiter was wonderful... Can't say for $20 a person I would ever go back :(

  • Kelley S.

Came here with a group of friends, we had a blast, the service is super, Tim our "server" was remarkable! the food it yummy, and the salad bar is out of this world!

Keep in mind, this is a tourist mall, so this place was probably on par with everything things else there, which would actually change the scale of the rating in their favor.

absolutely my favorite restaurant at the beach. For some it may seem expensive but man do you ever get alot for your money! Love everything about this place from the food to the service to the presentation! JUST GO you'll be glad you did.

Bit pricey.

  • Amy I.

    (5)

  • J. Paul A.

    (3)
  • Olamipo A.

Excellent service and great food. The salad bar was filled with olives, cheeses, pasta salads, among other things. As you're finishing off the salad, hot pasta and various meats are brought to your table- all for just $20! Can't beat that for a deal. Loved the chicken picata!

    (5)

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
