They use deceptive advertising. The sign on the street says 40 cent shrimp. You actually have to order drinks to get the special. It does not say that anywhere on the sign.

More of a bar than a restaurant. The online menu is much more extensive than what is actually available. That said, the peel and eat shrimp were good. The fish tacos (wrap) was good as well. The dressing on the Caesar salad was a little funky but OK. Service has been good. All in all, a good spot.

Bar atmosphere, great staff, and $5 specials celebrating 5th anniversary! Will return!

Local dive. Nothing fancy, but fancy is not the point! Cold beer, friendly staff. When we were there (off season), everything on the menu except pizza was just $5!

Cheap modern jukebox that got played the 2 hours we were there. Decent food at bargin prices for the beach. Lots of games like ping pong, indoor shuffleboard, and foosball. We had a great time on our second visit and stayed an hour longer than we planned.

Great food, excellent service too. Yelp has not steered me wrong yet! I had the daily special. ...$.40 scallops! You could choose blackened, grilled or fried. I had them grilled and they were great as was the soup. Only complaint was that it was freezing in the restaurant! It was 30 degrees outside, but the waitress said they wasn't working very well.

My wife and I decided to give On The Half Shell a try for some late night dinner. One of Murrells Inlet best bangs for your buck. My wife had the blackened scallop entree with fries & slaw and I had the blacked scallop & fish filet entree with slaw and fries. Each plate was six dollars "What". Both fish and scallops were cooked perfectly. My wife was equally impressed with her six scallop entree. The meal was just enough but left room for a little more. I ordered the Chocolate Chip Cookie Sunday. This dessert was so good that the guy sitting next to me (who had been drinking the whole time) ordered one. I had a tea and my wife had just water. All this for $18.00 came to an even $20.00 with tax. If you are in Murrells and wanting a great meal that won't cost an arm and a leg, give On The Half Shell a try. WoW

Very friendly staff and cheap cold beer. The dinners are low price but they give very little food. The dinner plates are smaller than appetizers at other local restaurants. However food was good.

This was our favorite place, which is why I give them 5 stars. Mickey is an amazing chef with the best food that makes you feel like you're at one of the big $$$ places on the inlet with all day happy hour prices. Average bottle beer selections but awesome liquor prices and fun bartenders who can make your night a blast. However, a lot of the sweet girls we've been around for 3-4 years are gone and replaced with new not-so-friendly or welcoming bartenders. And the cooks are always out in the bar area drinking and smoking it's just awkward I guess. A couple of the regulars are still around and those are the nights we enjoy, but we go from dinner and drinks 1-2 nights a week to maybe once a month or more bc of the loss of "home" feeling. It's not their fault that people move on, and get new jobs. But it's sad that the new girls just don't have that love for you unless you're a regular constantly buying them shots. Our last girl stood by an older lady and gentleman the entire night fake giggling and drinking. We had to motion every single time we needed a drink or to order it was like work for us. She even reached over us to grab something from behind the bar, while we were eating. One of our reg girls, yea that would be ok and we'd prob try to push her over the bar joking! But you've never even seen us before, honey...

Nothing special here. Friendly staff and multiple TV's but there are lots of places around to choose from besides here. Would not return.
