Señor Tequila has been our go-to Mexican spot since living in the Charleston area. This is a no frills standard Mexican joint. This is not a Mex 1 or Minero that serves craft tacos or uber-authentic food. This is standard Tex-Mex fare that is on the cheaper side. This is a great spot if you want a cheap night out. The food isn't spectacular but it's not too shabby. Keep an eye out for coupons in the mail. They come on the regular and I think it's part of what keeps us coming back. If you'll knock $5 off an already cheap meal, I'm happy!

I thought this place was it's own unique Mexican restaurant didn't realize that this was the same as your standard Mexican place i.e. Los Arcos, La Hacienda...etc. My friend and I sat down to have a bit to eat and get some drinks before the Christmas Light Parade on Coleman Blvd. Neither of us had ever been and before we even looked at the menu she said "I'm probably getting a number 10". As expected, the number 10 entree was the same exact entree as every other place around town. I don't get it, is there like a paint-by-numbers kit you you can buy to open a Mexican restaurant? Or maybe they all got together to get an amazing deal on printing by making the exact same menu? Whatever the case may be, the food was as expected. All I had was tacos with rice and beans so I can't say too much about it. A couple issues I had was that there were specials listed on a board as we walked in. I inquired about drink specials and he said "Happy Hour" (BTW his english is pretty weak, which is fine as long as you can still communicate). It was only 3:40p but I took that as he was offering happy hour early? To which he awkwardly nodded yes. I proceeded to ask him what the specials were to which he replied margaritas and beer. Prying a bit deeper, like for prices and types of beer, left him clueless. He gestured that he would find out and get back to us. He came back with little to no more information than when he had just left. I ended up getting a pitcher of Dos XX (turned out to be $9 which is pretty good). All the TV's were tuned to either the Eagles game or not a game at all so I asked if one of the TV's could be turned to the Patriots game. Again he was confused but seemed to understand what I was getting at because he came back and asked what channel it was on. I told him CBS but wasn't sure of their cable provider, he said again that he would go get someone to put it on. As I watched the updates pouring in on my phone while game took a major turn (Pat's Vs. Brown's) for the better, the game was never put on and I missed the entire 4th Qtr. I was a little aggravated but happy my team won nonetheless. Although the food was fine and the prices were great, there was absolutely nobody caring at all. You might as well order at the counter and have someone bring you a tray because that's the type of service you get.

This is some of the best Mexican food in Mt. Pleasant. Good prices, Fast service. A dizzying number of menu options. Kid friendly.

I should have known by how empty Senor Tequila's was on a Thursday at 7:00 PM, that it wasn't going to be that great of a Mexican food experience. But we have been saying we were going to give them a try for a while; so we did. When we walk in there were two guys at the cash register that didn't give us a warm greeting, just a "two?"; then one took us to our table. Our server came over and brought us menus and wasn't the friendliest either. He took our drink order and we ordered some queso. He goes away and brings us our queso with no chips, then after a brief period another guy shows up with chips and salsa. We are still waiting on our drink; which finally arrive and we place our order for three tacos. The tacos take less time than the drinks to arrive; I'm sure from my experience working at Rio Bravo back in the day that the beef is precooked and sitting in a heated well, so basically it is just a scoop job of beef on the tortilla and throw on a little cheese and lettuce. The quality of the food and drinks were not great at all. The margarita was not fresh, it was from a mix and there barely any tequila in there. If you are going to call your restaurant "Senor Tequila's" you better damn sure put some tequila in that margarita. The cheese dip was warm, but very lumpy. The tacos were on par with tacos you could get down the road from Taco Bell. Overall I would rank this place as a little better than La Hacienda and little lower than your typical Mexican restaurants.

Good food, cheap and fast! Chor pollo is awesome and so is chori queso. Good cold beer as well. Can't beat it.

If you're looking for a quick lunch, this definitely fits the bill. I had chips, salsa, and a chicken chimichanga and was out the door again in less than a half an hour. The good was your typical Mexican and tasty.

Pretty good for Charleston Mexican Standard Fare. No attitude which was nice. The food was good. Enough said.

The staff and food is always predictable which is good. I always know that the service will be great and so will the food. In a town full or restaurants, predictable and consistency is so important.

Found this authentic Mexican restaurant via Yelp! I am on a business trip. I was craving some authentic Mexican food and WOW did I ever find a jackpot! Extremely good food with a nice atmosphere to go along with it! If I was a local this would definitely be my spot for Mexican food! Wish I had this down the street from me in Raleigh, NC! The staff was very nice as usual with the Mexican culture! The service was great and the food was out in less than 10 mins! Beer was even great too! Would love to come back here again!

Alert: My boyfriend and I just moved here from Southern California, the mecca of Mexican food, next to Mexico, of course. On the outside, this place looks...blah. We were (I was) starving for Mexican food, however, so we decided to give it a try. The inside is very cute. But it seems strange to me that Mexican restaurants are always built as buildings, within buildings. That is, you have roofs and glass windows surrounding your table. Cute, makes you feel like you are sort of on a patio at a Mexican restaurant in Mexico. This is the reason I am giving this place such a low grade. My boyfriend and I were trying to decipher the MASSIVE menu (all I wanted were enchiladas, rice and beans... typical Mexican meal, non?) and I couldn't find it. So our waiter finally stopped by, and I asked him about it. His response: "I'm Puerto Rican, I don't know anything about Mexican food!" So I said, "But you work here!" He got flustered and couldn't find a smart reply to my statement. I mean, come on! I don't have any Mexican blood--I'm Caucasian and Asian, but I still know my Mexican food. I mean really? I don't care if you are Laotian, German Shepherd or Louis Vuitton! You should know your menu if you work there!! The food was pretty bad, in fact, I got slightly sick. At the end, our waiter contradicts himself and tells us he loves Mexican food. What??!! If he loved it, he would know what I was asking about, and he would certainly know his dang menu. Not coming back!

This place is great! I have been here 15-20 times. They are consistent, fast, and friendly. My favorites are the pollo mole, pollo chipolte, and the enchiladas suizas. All are delicious. The chips and salsa are good too. I always order a side of guacamole as well. Great place for cheap eats!

I like this place. Always sit at the bar. Friendly, good portions, good prices. Hard-working waitstaff. Consistently good casual food.

Went here on a Tuesday evening. Fun decor. Great price for what you get. My husband got a mango margarita which was OK, but very weak. Once we mentioned this to the waiter, he generously poured another shot in at no extra charge. Loved this. The price for the beer was unbeatable! That was my favorite part. The food was decent. I did not like my spinach quesedillas as the spinach tasted like bad frozen spinach. My husband and his friend really enjoyed their meals which were borritos and tacos. The appetizer chip dip we got was really awesome. It was a cheese/sausage combo. Couldn't get enough of that. In short, good bang for your buck!

If you want great Mexican, you'll have to go somewhere else, but if you want a good meal, at a good price, then Senoir Tequila is OK. Some things are better than others and the chips and salsa are usually not worth having. Looking for something cheap and filling, the grilled chicken quesadilla is pretty good; loaded with cheese and the chicken is good. Looking for a place to take the kids? Senoir does this better than almost anyone. The food comes out very fast, unless it's rush hour on Friday and even then it's fast. SO, if you're looking for something to eat, want something filling and fast and are in the mood for the South's version of Mex, Senoir Tequila is pretty good. The West Ashley Senoir Tequila was horrible the one time I went, so I wouldn't recommend that one, but the Mount Pleasant one was good.

it was another boring night. i was hobbling around the house (sustained a nail injury to the foot earlier in the day. stupid me for being on the beach in the glaring sun. what was i thinking, anyway? but i have to say, the peeps with me were also irish and pasty, so we were burning ourselves together, which was somehow cool) when my friend (and distant cuz) summer called. margaritas and mexican food? why yes, i am always ready for margaritas and mexican, crippled or not. she drove; i hobbled. we settled for a pitcher (a mere 5 mini-bottles of tequila, which i always suspected was secretly spelled tokillya) and she launched into an in-depth when harry met sally-worthy ordering extravaganza. oh wait, and then changed it thirty seconds later and managed to be (i swear!) the most annoying customer ever. i waited tables for half a second, so i know i probably would've shrugged and left it up to god (or the chef to spit in her food), but our waiter was totally cool, even gave us each an extra shot of tekilya (because we really needed that) and, yes, samples of their various flavors of margarita (again, summer's request) so that we could make an educated ordering decision. wow, i just realized i'm actually reviewing the food/product/whatever in a yelp review. hell, i'm actually yelping. i mean, i could just get all philosophical about my hair or something. Anyway, all i mean to say is: these poor senor tequila people took some abuse and handled it so gracefully and kindly (even gave me what i thought was a candy necklace with our totally underpriced - because our waiter is awesome - bill. by the way, it wasn't candy. it was some hard indestructible material that can't be bitten into. i tried). i believe my greatest moment was when i realized the name of this joint is senor tequila. honestly, i couldn't think of a better name myself. senor tequila will take your annoying, your crippled, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, and give them some grade a margaritas. ...i decided that a restaurant review may involve more than just endorsing margaritas. so: the texan fajitas looked awesome (though summer complained that the vegetables were "too crunchy"), and i have yet to discover what qualifies them as particularly texan. i mean, are they dumber than other fajitas? probably. or just fatter. (haha! no really, i'm sorry, texas. my bad.) anyway, i got a pretty good spinach quesadilla for 5 bucks, and the guac was generally a mess and therefore pretty decent. in conclusion: by east of the mississippi standards, this mexican food was pretty good.
