After 12+ years of living in Charleston - we've finally found Chinese food that rivals NYC takeout. The quality and flavor are amazing. Sauces are fresh and original - Not your typical garden variety pour #2 Mongolian into a wok and stir. Highly recommend their dumplings served with a plumb like sauce with little onions. Never change Golden Bowl!

Quick update. Golden Bowl continues to do a great job. My most recent visit this past week was great. Hibachi rice and fried dumplings. My wife is a fan of the sauce that comes on the side with the hibachi rice, which was fresh and delicious. What was great was that the fried dumplings were fresh-made, not those big, thick-skinned dumplings other Chinese restaurants use that all seem to come from a restaurant supply company.

One of the better take out Chinese places in Mount Pleasant. I pass at least 2 other take out joints to get here, the main one being in Sweetgrass Shopping Center which is so, so, so so terrible. Ive been there a couple of times now, and meet the same guy behind the counter. He is pleasant enough; at least he provides greetings, and thanks me for my business. The food is actually more affordable than the other ones and some of the portions are better. And the big plus plus? This place doesnt have that terrible lingering Chinese restaurant smell. The mix of cleaning products and brown sauce. You know the smell. That is my number one turn off for Chinese take out places. Walking in and being hit with a mix of bleach and food is overwhelmingly gross. The dining room is clean, the tables aren't sticky; I guess these shouldnt be considered positives for a restaurant, but musts, but we all know Chinese take out places are notorious for certain bad habits. Golden Bowl was an exception, so this will be my go to place for take out in Mount P.

I've tried both the Shrimp lo mein and the Sweet & sour chicken, both of which were delicious. This is my go to Chinese restaurant in Mount Pleasant. My one issue is the sweet and sour sauce always seems to be cold, I'd like to see it at least warm.

This is your typical "take out" only Chinese restaurant. We always find the food very good and service is friendly. I would recommend at least a try. I travel to China frequently so my taste is a little sensitive to really good Chinese-American food. Interesting during the World Cup as they had the Spanish TV station covering the game.

I did like their food a lot, we had been going frequently but last night I called to place an order and I couldn't believe how rude the man was. I have a very soft voice, almost childlike, I always have and I can't change this. When I started speaking he started laughing and then I stopped and he was giggling and said, "what????" I just hung up, really where do you go from there when someone is kind of being mean to you. It really hurt me that someone could be so unprofessional when taking an order in their business. They will never get another cent of my money. I'm 42 years old and haven't been treated this awful since I was a little kid. Grow up and act like a business owner who is trying to make money and not like a child who doesn't realize there is a Chinese restaurant on every other corner in this town.

I love getting carry out from here! It's always ready super fast and never disappoints. I always get the Mongolian beef, extra spicy, the Hibachi Fried Rice (major YUM), spring rolls and crab Rangoon (they melt in your mouth). I really should try something else, but why mess with perfection?!?!?!

Great take out place! Had the Hunan shrimp and vegetable lo mein along with a few appetizers. As far as take out goes, this place is at the top. There is a great selection and I look forward to trying more things. The veggie lo mein was not greasy and had plenty of vegetables, which can be hard to find at other chinese restaurants. The food was fresh, flavorful and prepared properly. Not much more you can ask for.

This has become my go-to Chinese spot. First of all, the owner will deliver the food himself whether it be noon or 8pm. And it's typically delivered within 25 minutes of ordering. He calls it "New York style" Chinese food-not sure what that means. We typically will get the crab rangoon(they give you a ton), egg rolls ($1), and the Mongolian beef. This is the best Mongolian beef that I've had in Charleston. The meat has almost a grilled taste and it's very juicy/flavorful. I've also tried the beef with garlic sauce-again beef is very good in a kinda sweet but garlicy sauce-very good too! All in all, everyone need a reliable go-to Chinese delivery spot.. And this is mine.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
