Best sushi in town- hands down. I really love nigiri and sashimi. They have the freshest tuna, salmon, striped bass- whatever they're serving that day- delivered daily from local waters. I have never been much of a raw meets cooked type roll eater, but they have the best and you definitely gotta try out the Jojo, Christmas and Double Tuna rolls if you stop in. Owner truly cares about her business and personally greets tables when she is there (most nights of the week). Great drink specials daily and happy hour from 4-7.

Sushi is not very good. Not much flavor. We were the only two tables there & it took over 30 minutes to get us a very SMALL dynamite roll. So after 30 minutes of waiting & getting very hungry , I was disappointed. There should be more pictures of the menu or staff should let customers know how big the rolls are. The children's menu is too pricey & no lunch menu on weekends?? Will not be back.

I have been coming to Fuji for the past 3 years and they are by far the best sushi in Charleston. The staff is attentive and does a great job answering questions and guiding you through the menu. They offer a variety of options and styles of rolls for those who like more modern fusion style sushi to traditional maki. They also offer great lunch deals as well. Will continue to come here for many more years.

I love this little spot for not too expensive sushi and drinks. Had no problems with service or quality. Only been out here twice since I live in N. Chuck... if I lived in Mt. Pleasant I certainly would stop by more as it is near one of my fav stores..Ross. I like the whole Belle Hall shopping area that Fuji Sushi Bar & Grill is in.

Fuji's an alright spot for lunch. I've been in a handful of times over the years and it's never been bad but, it's also never been anything special. The sushi's good and they do have bento boxes during lunch... which I love! The bento box is $10 and I usually get chicken teriyaki, miso soup, an egg roll type of thing, and a California roll. It's the only sushi in the long point area and they do a pretty good job.

Excellent! Moving to Daniel Island and trying new restaurants. Delicious veggie dumplings and the Manhattan roll was excellent! 1/2 price drinks on Tue night made me go for two glasses of wine! Great service at the bar! Go!

My favorite Sushi place. OK, maybe the closeness to my house helps. But I ALWAYS love their food. Their Avocado salad is scrumptuous. My boring palette also loves their two sushi rolls made with tempura calamari (Long Pointe and Brittany).

A quick lunch stop on a tourist day around town. Staff was very friendly and very accommodating as I walked in just before the end of lunch. The beer special on tap was pretty good. The rainbow roll was pretty good. I enjoyed it more than the sashimi which I usually enjoy more. It was thicker than other rolls I have had before. The sashimi was tasty but the pieces were a little to big. I had to slice them down to more manageable pieces. Overall, it was pretty good. Not great and definitely not bad.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. I wanted to like this place more. It was okay. I'm conflicted because it was decent sushi, but the price and service make me wary of future visits. The service, while polite, needs to go work for NASA because they are freaking space cadets. Martinis were on special, sweet - asked if the chocolate was just straight chocolate liqueur with vodka - no cream and she was like "no, no, nooo no cream" and kind of giggled the whole time. Hubs ordered a very dry martini. What arrives? In tumblers, mind you, a CREAM martini topped with WHIPPED CREAM. WTF?! Husband's martini had more vermouth in it than vodka - the anti dry martini, babe. So yeah, it was tiny, two sips and it was gone. Went to wine and was much happier. Gyoza - very tasty. Sushi - very tasty. The nigiri rice was wayyy too lose. Again, a service issue, ordered spicy crunchy salmon (we enjoy some junk food rolls from time to time! fried crumbs mmmmmmmm). What arrived? A salmon avocado (I literally don't think the world avocado left my mouth the entire meal so no clue where that came from...) with the TINIEST bit of crunch - I think I found some in one piece. She charged us for 4 martinis (which she readily removed but what the hell dude!?) it was still $88 after the correction - definitely too expensive. The soy sauce is sweet. I have no idea what that's about.

Really excellent sushi, but really pricey. Two rolls with an imported beer ran $30.00. I think that's a lot. But the quality is there and the white ginger was especially crispy. I was also really impressed that they had something other than Kirin and Sapporo - I enjoyed my meal with a Hitachino Nest White Ale, a Japanese witbier. It was a lovely early autumn day, so I sat outside in the setting sun to have my dinner. I was the only one out there. As such, the waitress was a little harried having to come outside every so often to check on me. I would recommend Fuji if you're looking for good sushi.

We've always had a great experience here. The food is always and the service isn't too bad either. Although I will say that the last server that we had was pretty disappointing. Luckily though the food made up for it.

We've been to Fuji twice, now, one for dinner (which is chronicled in Meghan C.'s review) and once for lunch, which I'm going to cover. It's very nice inside, but the service is lacking, the employees just hang around the bar, and don't really greet you or engage you when you're being seated or ordering. Last week, my wife ordered the miso soup and seaweed salad, and asked for them to come out at the same time. I ordered the 3 roll lunch special with miso soup. The soups came out together, not staggered, as my wife had asked. Once lunch came out, I was happy to see that the rolls I'd gotten were large, but two of them included avocado, and they were almost ALL avocado. Seriously, like a sliver of fish. My wife's seaweed salad was a very small portion, made even smaller by the fact that it's artfully arranged atop a MOUNTAIN of cucumber slices. While it was tasty, I've NEVER seen anything like that, and for the price, it's not worth it, whatsoever. This place really needs to get its act together. Tsunami, over near the Isle of Palms connector, is much better, and has better prices on their sushi, PLUS, half price bottles of wine every night of the week. That's awesome. This place is just meh, and for the price of admission, that makes it bad.

This place is dies not allow you to interact with the sushi chefs while you sit at the sushi bar! What is the point of a sushi bar I asked the waitress who you have to deal with that has no knowledge of sushi! She replied to watch them make sushi! The shrimp dumplings were a rip off and because the waitress has no knowledge of sushi we were given sushi that we didn't order! This place needs to visit a sushi bar in California in order to see how to run one! Their NYE special $100.00 for all you can eat sushi and liquor just rediculous!

My husband & I ate here last night along with our 10 month old, who ate pieces of what we ordered. Just a few hours after leaving my husband become violently ill, throwing up repeatedly into this morning as well as diarrhea. I did not become ill until this morning, also vomiting & diarrhea, and am still sick. Our baby has been having diarrhea all day. My husband called & spoke to management who was completely unsympathetic or apologetic & very abrasive. We will not be back to this establishment & do not recommend it at all.

Fuji is great! The staff are wonderful and the sushi is top notch. I highly recommend Fuji to anyone looking for great sushi and a fun time. The rolls are very well crafted and always high quality. There is nothing sloppy about the sushi here, compared to some places which are really hit or miss. They also offer some nice non-sushi dishes for those non sushi lovers. Prices are very fair for the high quality of sushi offered!! A great local restaurant!

Fare at best. Service was interesting, young good looking lady who had obviously kicked off her weeked early. I have no problem with that in fact that may send me back.........the sushi was not great. That might be due to what we ordered, which was long on pop sushi, short on the traditional stuff. Didn't seem real fresh, Will give them another try, but it won't be soon. Too many other options for sushi in MtP.

Overall, an ok sushi place. There were some positives and negatives to my visit. It is located in the Long Point shopping center. I believe that it is the Japanese place in the center. For the food, it was good. My party ordered the Daniel Island roll, Topper roll, Double Tuna roll, and Charleston roll. Overall, all 4 were really good. The fish/rice ratio was good on the fish side. They give decent sized pieces of fish. The Daniel Island roll was nice and warm as it came out. The rolls came out pretty quickly. Our server was friendly and helpful to us. She came around a good number of times to check up on us and refill our water. On to the negatives: pricing. Their pricing is high for a Japanese restaurant. I will say that the food was worth it, but still. Next, the workers were eating and being very, very loud in a corner table. It's ok for workers to eat, but not in front of customers. Their volume was way louder than the music that was being played. Also, many workers would walk to that table to eat, then walk back to the bar or wherever and keep working. Very unprofessional. They also were saying bad words quite a lot too. After they left that table, they headed to the bar to continue to be loud, if not louder than at the corner table. This restaurant doesn't seem like a loud bar or anything, so the workers and owners shouldn't add to the loudness. It ruins the atmosphere. Overall, food was good, but the owners and workers made the mood in a negative light. Last thing, they have a 15% off minimum $30, which came in the mail.

Step into this restaurant and it's easy to forget the large, strip-ish shopping mall outside at Belle Hall. It has a full bar and comfortable atmosphere. We tried two salads and three different chef's rolls, and split everything up. The first of the salads, avocado, is a more conventional-style salad with lettuce, cabbage, grape tomatoes, carrots and a bit of caviar, all covered in thinly sliced avocado. It is absolutely delicious with a ginger dressing. The second salad was seaweed, a type of salad I'd never ordered before. I had pictured something like collards or kale, but it was various types of thin strands of seaweed in vivid shades of green. It, too, was delicious. The sushi we tried was a hit. November rolls are tempura shrimp and avocado in a soybean wrap topped with a spicy crab mixture. Lobster rolls are similar. The only sushi we had that was more traditional (with no ingredients cooked tempura style) was a tiger roll with crab and salmon. It, too, was outstanding. The service was good, with a wait person who was happy to explain the menu. Even the iced tea was delicious. I'll definitely be back.

Not my kind of place. Fuji is over priced, their sushi is terrible, our waitress didn't have a clue what she was doing and the whole experience was pretty embarrassing for whoever runs this establishment. i was really excited to try their sushi but it's the most americanized, smothered, pile I've had in a while.

Stopped in for lunch and took some rolls to go for my wife. The waiter assured me the rolls were gluten free ("1000 percent sure" he said). Got said rolls home, both of them had tempura (tons of gluten) in them. Very disappointing!

Though this is not the easiest place to find, I was pleasantly surprised by the experience. The hibachi chicken and salmon roles with delicate fried rice was just want the doctor ordered coupled with a fun and down to earth waitress. What made the sushi a little different was that they were top heavy on the sushi and light on the rice. I most enjoyed that. The chicken was mixed with just enough sauce to bring out the taste. I didn't have any of the dessert but I hear it was pretty amazing.

Sushi is the best around. Service is not that great. Take out is wonderful! November roll, firecracker roll are fabulous. Great wine list and creative drinks.

I'm beginning to reconsider. What got me most excited were the hours and location. Having been back, and also had sushi at other places more recently, I have to say that I still love the convenience but I'd still go elsewhere more often than not. Maybe I'm just a sucker for fancy rolls with funky sauces.

My wife has gone here a few times for sushi and so she convinced me to go with her and try it for dinner. We tried a few different items: beef dumplings, fillet mignon hibachi and 2 rolls of sushi- November roll and Crunchy roll. First off, the service was really good. The place wasnt too busy (Monday at 7pm) so we had plenty of waitress attention. The dumplings were really good. My hibachi wasnt the best, its the same price as Yamato or Miyabi and you dont even get the exciting presention or cooking. The sushi was okay, crunchy roll is a basic California roll that is fried. The November roll was crab and fried in a soy wrap. When I got the bill I was blown away, the November roll was a special and not listed on the menu, I just assumed it would've been around 6-8 dollars, we were charged $14. I must admit I did have buyers remorse after signing the bill. Bottom line, if you like sushi try this place to see how you like it. I wouldn't recommend this place for hibachi, not worth the price.

Fiji Sushi is very clean, trendy, and affordable. We had great service while at Fiji. The rolls were presented beautifully and tasted amazing. The 'crunchy roll' is outstanding. We will definitely be going back as it is very hard to find good Japanese food in the Charleston/Mount Pleasant area.

Had lunch @Fuji today and it was delicious! The sushi tasted soooo very fresh and the flavors really blended well! I goofed and put too much sauce on the fried rice on the Bento box. It was delicious just the way it was! Everything was cooked perfectly. The waitress was great and knowledgeable. We got sushi and bento box and delicious hot tea for $20 total.

I love this place. Frequent diner for lunches and dinners, and never, ever had a bad or even mediocre meal there. It IS spendy, especially for dinner, but I can overlook that because every roll I've tried has been stellar. They keep a hand-written book of 'special' off-menu rolls and they're amazeballs! If you're adventurous, ask for the book and try at least one of those rolls! Recently tried their Soba and it was absolutely delicious. I've seen a few reviews knocking the service, but those must have been 'off' days because truthfully I've never experienced anything other than the most wonderful service here. Maybe it's partly because we're regulars, but we're pretty picky about service and this team nails it every time. If I could, I'd eat here at least weekly!

We came here for dinner and ordered the Tanaka, JoJo, and New Year's rolls. Maybe it's because I'm not really into tempura rolls, but the food was great quality, just not my absolute favorite. The staff was attentive and made themselves available to answer any questions we had. I do prefer the sushi at Wasabi more, but it was refreshing to try different rolls than we would normally get. They all kinda of blended together and tasted the same to me, though. The pricing is reasonable and the rolls are filling. If you like tempura rolls, this is your place.
(3)
Maria A.
I really liked it for the lunch price. The waitress was friendly and helpful with any questions we had about the rolls. The salad was also good that came with the special. It wasn't just the iceberg lettuce that usually comes with sushi. The mojitos were made exactly the way they should be.
(4)
Julie B.
The atmosphere and the staff were both great! Our pan fried dumplings were on the burnt side and left a bad after taste. We mentioned it to the waitress but decide not to send them back because we had eaten half. But our waitress brought us a free dessert at the end of our meal which was a nice gesture. I ordered the sobe noodles. The flavor was great but there were way too many red onions!!! It also sat on a piece of lettuce which bothered me. My husband ordered the sushi and it was delicious!!! I would go back for the service and sushi.

I have been coming to Fuji for years , at least once sometimes twice a week. I have tried other sushi restaurants but NONE can hold a candle to Fuji. The owner , honestly the best sushi chef I have ever seen . The food taste like heaven and the presentation in itself is art. You can tell a huge difference in Fuji and other places. The wait staff always makes me feel like family. I read that some say it is more expensive , we'll not much , maybe a $1 a roll . Very much worth it . Like the saying goes you get what you pay for . I recommend you drive out of the way to try. Well worth it .

They really have an inspired variety of rolls and they are fresh. They know how to do spicy, too! After several visits and many visits to other Japanese restaurants, this is one of my favorites. My opinion of this restaurant has only gone up.

Great local place. Clean . The positive - The sushi is outstanding. New Year, Christmas and November rolls are the best! They definitely dont fill in with rice and portions are ample. Seaweed salad is wonderful. The negative - dont get the hibachi. Very sub par. Also they tend to be under staffed, always. So be prepared to wave your server down.

My favorite sushi place by far. I've been to so many that let me down (Wasabi and Oriental Garden). My dad and I go to lunch here at least once a month.

My husband and I love this place! Josh is the best, he always remembers us when we come in, he knows our drinks and menu likes. Food is always fresh and consistent. Jean the owner is a sweetheart!

I really liked it for the lunch price. The waitress was friendly and helpful with any questions we had about the rolls. The salad was also good that came with the special. It wasn't just the iceberg lettuce that usually comes with sushi. The mojitos were made exactly the way they should be.
