I ate here today and seen a sign saying open. Could not smell any smoke inside or out. The place is a little outdated but clean. The BBQ was moist but bland. The BBQ sauce taste like yellow mustard.

Don't go out of your way to get here. I am not one to judge a book by its cover, and that hurt me here. The outside of this place is discouraging at best; maybe even depressing. My group arrived at 6 pm on a Saturday and the parking lot was empty. I had to convince my group to go in - they assumed it was closed!! Entering the place offered a glimmer of hope. The dining room and counter area are clean and inviting...but that made me wonder why it was empty on a Saturday night. Procedure here is to order as you enter at the walk up counter, as is the case with many BBQ joints in the South, then they bring the food out to you. Staff was pleasant and patient given that we had never visited before. Once the food arrived I understood why it was empty - the food is just about as average as possible. Not awful - just not noteworthy. It was okay; but just okay, and that is not enough for a southern BBQ restaurant. Board in the lobby boasted " best BBQ seven years running" - can't imagine anyone else was competing! You won't die from eating here, and it is very close to the highway so it is extremely convenient if you are stopping for gas during your travels, but please don't make a special effort to get here...just not worth it.

Do yourself a favor and pass this by. Real, southern BBQ places are right down the road and much better! The hash was swimming in grease, the ribs had little flavor, the chopped pork has no flavor unless you drown it in their mustard sauce. Worst BBQ I have ever had. At $10 dollars a plate it is way overpriced for the sub-par food.

So, I'd been feenin' for some good ol' southern BBQ for over a week now, and I was disappointed time and time again while in Montgomery, Alabama. I just happened to see this place off of the freeway in South Carolina said to myself.... This is the last shot. To be honest, the outside of the building didn't look like too much, and there weren't any cars in the parking lot... (which those two factors alone really made my hopes drop in expecting any great bbq). On top of that, I actually wanna lose a few pounds, so the fact that I was pullin' up into a place that "Piggie Park" was part of the name really wasn't going over too well in my brain. Anyway, I went ahead and got the BBQ Beef sandwich. The flavor of the meat was FANTASTIC! It was truly a pleasant surprise! On top of that, they have a unique style of BBQ sauce that at first glance, I didn't think I'd like, but after throwin' it on my sandwich, it really complimented it well. Great way to end a week of unsuccessful bbq searching!!! This place made it worth the wait!
