I've eaten here a few times and have always enjoyed the experience. The wait isn't too bad whenever I've gone, and the staff is very friendly. I'm a vegetarian so I'm glad they had some options for me to choose from as well as their ability to accommodate with substitutions. Their drink selection is decent as well.

I was totally blown away at the amazing service and food that we received on our first visit to this Fatz location on June 1, 2013. We were visiting from Philadelphia and Melanie, our waitress, and "Chief" (Rick), the host, made us feel so welcome, like we were old family friends! It felt like home away from home! The food was incredible, especially the round poppyseed bread/biscuit and the peach cobbler dessert, in addition to our fantastic entrees, including their famous Calabash chicken. It was so good that we got take-out of the chicken and peach cobbler for our relatives who couldn't make it that night. My family and I will definitely be making this Fatz a "must go" everytime we visit the area. I will certainly be recommending this Fatz to all my relatives and friends. Thanks Chief and Melanie!!! :)

This was my first visit to Fats in a while. I was pleasantly surprised at how great it was! I have never had a bad experience at Fats. The service was great! Didn't have to ask for refills on our drinks. Waitress was very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Food was excellent. I ordered the Seabreeze Spinach Salad and it was huge. I took half of it home because I couldn't eat it all. My friend ordered the lunch sampler platter and she also took about half of hers home. Hers smelled delicious and she said it tasted delicious as well. We did split the Banana Split straight up, and it was just the right size to share. This is one place that the pictures on the menu are exactly what you get, and the food sometimes looks better than the pictures. This is definitely a good value for the money and the service and food are both great. The waitress offered us to go drinks without having to ask. Don't miss this place, you won't be disappointed!

I love fatz mostly. Their salads are fresh and calabash chicken is a must try. The reason I give them 3 stars is their baked potatoes are consistently cold! Barely even warm enough to melt the butter. They are this way 90% of the time. The Carolina cobbler is a must try though.

Lunchtime visit on a Tuesday. Fair service in bar area (did not bring rolls or special sauce requested) and ordering and food seemed to take some time. HOWEVER...once food delivered, we three eaters had no complaints!!!!! Shrimp po boy included so much shrimp that it was two meals. Chicken asian salad was fantastic as we're fried green tomatoes with cheeses grits.

While visiting family in the area due to being chased from the New Orleans area by Hurricane Gustav, we stopped here for lunch. This place is great! Best Chicken Strips I have ever had. . . . service was great. We never had to ask for refills on the drinks. Food was fresh and service was excellent. If you are looking for good food and good service, make a stop here.

OMG. Fatz is not to be missed. We were passing thru SC on our way to and from Orlando and the NC mountains. Saw the highway signs and read a thumb nail review in the AAA guide book. We did not know what Calabash Chicken was, but Peach Cobbler brought us in. We were not disappointed! Calabash is a style of buttermilk soaked, lightly battered, and lightly fried chicken. The tenderest and the best. The peach cobbler was also great. Adam, the manager, and Heather our server educated us and took great care of us. We will be back.

Wife and I have eaten here a number of times and each has been enjoyable. Had slow service on one occasion - but they were very busy and working hard. Even then, the manager came over and offered free desert or drink (which we turned down since, after all, no one was slacking). Think between the two of us we have tried pretty much pretty much everything and never been disappointed. Staff has ALWAYS been very nice; always sufficient for an extra tip.

Took over 30 minutes for fried food at lunch time. Was not very busy inside and we can see why. Hard to get in and out on lunch break with that wait time. Manager delivered the food telling us they do not have food prepared that they could just throw on a plate. She said they prepare it fresh everytime. Terrible explanation. Food was not worth the wait at all. They changed the recipe on the calabash so it was not as good.

We ate here last night, and I was very pleasantly surprised to learn that they have a gluten-free potato soup, which I had not eaten in years. It was tasty. We also shared a salad with grilled chicken on top. We felt that the chicken was superfluous, but we really enjoyed the salad, which had cranberries, nuts and a hot bacon dressing. If you're traveling, as we were, this may fit the bill for a decent meal.

Not only did we have to wait 30 min for our food, it was TERRIBLE! The fish was extremely over cooked, the rice was burned, and my son's hamburger had a hard bun, and an extremely greasy bun. The only good thing about this place is the bread, but how can you mess those up? I will defiantly not be coming back.

Had dinner at the Lexington Location this evening. Nothing too spectacular with our visit tonight. I have had this happen before, but requested no tomatoes on my salad, and not only did they not include the tomatoes, but no crutons as well. Our waitress did bring some out for me when requested. Also had to ask for a refill on our rolls. Food was good as usual. Restaurant was clean as usual.

Definitely the best chain Resturant I've ever eaten in. The hospitality was second to nun. The server Linda was so helpful and knew everything about the food and the Resturant. I had the impression she was the owner until I asked. She brought us samples of their signature chicken and shrimp bisque both delicious. Our fish was superb. Will recommend to everyone.

My wife and I had a late lunch here today. She had the special, a grilled chicken sandwich with bacon and I had the Calabash Popcorn Shrimp. They were great, the restaurant was ultra clean and the service was well above average. We will certainly be going back and recommend that you do.

I have been here several times. This place wants your business. The staff appears to be extra nice and attentive. The last two times i went the waitress became very personable. I wasn't treated like just another customer. I have to give them 5 stars for that. One thing that i want everyone to be aware of though is their all you can eat ribs. The first rack of ribs they give you is to die for. I never had better ribs than that. However, if you re-order. The next sets of ribs are terrible. I asked the waitress about this, and she agreed. She said others complain about the same thing. She thinks they serve the best first, and then serve the tough half cooked ribs for re-orders. I wouldn't order the all you can eat ribs again, if you plan on getting seconds. Overall though, great place to go.
