This northern girl loved that Southern BBQ. Great all you can eat buffet for a good price. Dessert bar is all you can eat too, if you have room. If you're in the hood go!

I can't believe we have been passing by this place for years and never stopped! Our loss. BBQ, collard greens, squash casserole and banana pudding are top notch and my husband claims this is the best fried chicken he's ever had (which is saying a lot). Staff was friendly and attentive, but the other diners were also especially friendly and gracious. Great atmosphere and you can tell the employees all enjoy being there. Best wishes for continued success. You guys are doing it right.

We were looking for lunch on our way home from Myrtle beach. This place looked like it would be a great choice. We pulled in and they are closed with a building permit on the door. I wish we could have tried it, off to Florence to find something else.

This down-home place to eat is a family favorite. We live 4 states away and talk about it every time we are thinking about somewhere to dine. It only it was closer. I have never had anything here that I have not loved. The staff is friendly and the price is right!

I am a huge fan of CNBC's The Profit, so when I saw Shulers on it, I knew I had to make a road trip! What's better than barbecue? A BUFFET OF BARBECUE (plus a ton of amazing Southern sides, fried chicken, and ridiculously delicious rolls). My boyfriend and I drove down to Latta on a Friday night from North Carolina (serious dedication), and I will say that we would do it all over again. Shulers did not disappoint. I guess we made it at the right time, because we didn't have to wait in line to pay upon arrival and the buffet was stocked with new food coming out as we were getting our plates. We sat in what seemed like the newer addition area, kind of far away from the actual food and much more quiet. We had the sweetest waitress, Cecila, who never let our sweet tea get below half glass. She was great! Both my boyfriend and I felt like nothing from the buffet was less than exceptional. A few of the highlights... loved, I mean freakin' loved, the barbecue. Especially coupled with their sauce! It was spicy and sweet all at the same time and really knocked it out of the park. The corn was my favorite vegetable, it was literally the best corn on the cob I'd had in years. I also really liked the fried chicken, but I didn't see any drumsticks on the buffet (which are my favorite), so that was a little bit of a let down. I'm sure they were just buried under all of the other pieces of chicken. For the price, this is seriously a deal. Great food, great service, nice space with a beautiful new deck. We ate and then rode out our food coma in a few rocking chairs while watching the sun set before driving back. I will definitely stop here whenever I'm traveling down I-95 and will recommend wholeheartedly! Love this place!

I have been driving by this place for 18(?) years and have never stopped...I saw a clip on The Profit, and knew we had to stop on our next trip. Three weeks later and a slight detour on our trip to Florida, we have finally tasted the hype...and it was well worth the wait! We will definitely be back on every trip through the area. It is very easy to get to from I-95. The food and staff are what you would imagine. I have never been to a BBQ buffet and not been disappointed with several items, but this is that different place! Everything here is very good!!!! So glad we stopped!
(5)Todd F.
I visited again 9/19/15 and I must say the ribs were perfect, as reported on my first visit here. I ecstatic that the original recipe is back. The biscuits, fried corn and ribs are simply amazing. I can't wait to return.
(5)Edy D.
This was a wonderful, friendly southern place with a full, mouth water buffet. You have a choice of inside seating or a comfortable back porch with tables and big rocking chairs to relax.
(5)Mosh M.
Really liked this place...from the dirty rice, the liver hash all the way through the ribs, BBQ and corn on the cob...fried chicken was excellent...all the sides, like butter beans, cole slaw, green beans and more...and the desserts! Banana pudding, peach cobbler, ice cream, and...what is that? A tub of crème brulé? Why, yes, I believe it was...good job guys! Did I mention it is buffet style...?

In town for a wedding, we essentially stumbled across Shuler's when looking for something for lunch. So glad that we did! Walked right in at noon on a Saturday, we had no problems finding a seat. BRING CASH... or a check. No credit cards. We all enjoyed the buffet, which was ample and freshened up often. Everything that I tried was delicious. A supplemental dessert bar was also available. Servers hurried around from table to table refilling drinks, and clearing the plates that once contained an incredible selection of greens, pork, and mac and cheese. I would definitely go back again... and again, assuming I'm ever in the area again.

I don't know were to start! Everything was great! The barbecue was out of this world. The fried chicken was to die for. They offer every kind of side you could ever hope for. To top it off ... for $10 you can eat all you want! Unfortunately I ate more than I needed to but after a nice nap I should be fine. My wife is not a big barbecue person but she loves this restaurant and will be begging me to take her back soon.
(5)Walter S.
There are at least a dozen great places to get Barbecue in the Coastal Plain of SC, but only Shuler's has the charm, ambiance, scenery and convenience to I-95. On the other hand, I know of no other restaurant that serves such a tasty high value variety of items on the dinner buffet. Ribs, every kind of chicken except live, and who ever heard of fried corn but everyone loves it! The view of the pond out back is unique in the barbecue world and makes this my go to place to take visitors to the Pee Dee for a little taste of "you can't get that anywhere else but here."
(5)Zachary L.
AMAZING!! My wife and I saw this place on The Profit, we are in the process of moving from PA to FL and took I95 down. This place in only a short drive from the freeway. There is plenty of parking. My family of 5 including three children paid less than $40. Great deal. The food was wonderful and the service was great! Everything we selected was delicious. Will make it a point to stop by in the future.

As a NC native, hard to admit when I've had great BBQ outside of eastern NC. BBQ here is excellent and authentic! Buffet offered many country style veggies like my grandma used to make. Desserts were also tasty including cobblers , ice cream, banana pudding and home made cakes . Staff is attentive, kept my sweet tea full. Oh, did I mention my family of 5 ate lunch for $42 including drinks and dessert! A true yelp find on our way back from myrtle beach. When our travels take us on I 95 south again, we'll definitely stop here to eat. Just a couple miles off I 95, skip the chains people! This place is the real deal!

Awesome food. Fried chicken, ribs, and corn on the cob the best i ever had. Kids (ages 10 and 8) loved the food too which is unusual. However, they suspiciously "filled up" fast yet seemed to find room to try each dessert. This is our second time back and cant wait to come back for the third. The buffet isnt as big as say golden corral but the taste and quality is 100% better. Plus the owner is a super nice guy. They do take credit cards which is convenient. Best bbq in south carolina!
(5)Teresa C.
My BBQ was the worst I've ever experienced. Odd flavor. That said the collards, green beans, Mac & cheese, rice, squash casserole, peach cobbler and tea were great. If I ever go back, I would just get the fried chicken. Sad because they are a BBQ place. My husband thought it was okay. It appears to be mustard based which is not my favorite. Prefer vinegar based. Very nice decor. You can sit out on porch. My husband had banana pudding and it was delicious. My husband liked the small thin biscuits.
(3)Robert M.
Saw them on TV about there biscuits. So on are way home from Florida. We stop for dinner at 630pm. We got the buffet. Which looked ok. But there was no labels telling what the food was. Food was ok. Nothing to write home about. And there biscuits were ok. Nothing like I was thinking after reading every ones reviews. Tell you the truth. I'll just have KFC biscuits. There biscuits were no bigger then a $0.50 cent and flat. After dinner they had a small buffet for dessert. But there was not much of that. 4 kinds of ice cream. But it was slende picking. And a few different putting in fruit cobblers. And they were pretty much gone. The only thing I can say that was pretty good their service. There waiters and busboys. They made sure your plate was gone when you were done. And very nice and always asking if they could get you anything.

Food was good but not great as every one is goin crazy about. BBQ taste like some body chewed and spit it up on bar. Staff was great. Sweet tader casserole was great :)
(3)Lee S.
Best BBQ ever! I do a lot of traveling and always try the local BBQ and this time I found a true winner. Had heard about this restaurant from watching the TV show "The Profit" and decided I had to try. I drove all the way from Kansas and would do it again. Not only are the ribs the best tasting I've ever had but the fried chicken is also unbelievable. It's only $14.95 for all you can eat and the buffet is packet with all kinds of great sides, desserts and meats. Staff is extremely friendly and went out of their way to make you feel at home. Let me know when you are opening a franchise in Kansas I'll be there!
(5)L H.
Man, this was some good food. More country cooking than bbq. The buffet had so many tasty options; my plate was overflowing by the time I sat. Maybe that's greedy, but I think it's essential to get a good sampling to provide an accurate review of the restaurant. ;) The squash casserole and fried chicken were my favs. The banana pudding was also good. I don't think it actually had bananas in it, which would have been preferable, but the taste was great. The sweet tea was also on point and had the correct ratio of sugar, tea, and water. (Good southern sweet tea must caress your palate in that order.) If I lived in the area it could be dangerous for my figure...

100 mile bbq. Good fried chicken. Great hash and homemade sausage. Friendliest staff you'll ever find.
(5)Todd l.
Awesome, lakeside bbq buffet close to 95, lunch was about ten bucks with a drink, sides were good, bbq and fried chicken were excellent!! Skip pedro land, and Make a stop here!
(5)Julie H.
We lucked out coming here on December 20, before their holiday break starting December 21 (reopening January 2). Fabulous buffet with excellent fried chicken, mustard Barbeque chicken, pulled pork, greens, banana pudding, little biscuits, etc, etc.. One handy thing is that they do accept debit cards.
(5)Scott F.
the place is amazing, all the food was hot, fresh and unbelivebly awesome, great place to go after a long day of hog hunting with friends...banana pudding almost good enuff to slap my grandma...but not quite, will be back
(4)Sean C.
Shulers was ok. Buffett style. Everyone was real friendly but the bbq was just ok. We were on the hunt for some good South Carolina bbq and got a Buffett style pulled pork in a tin pan. No brisket. No ribs. The sauce they had on the table was very good though. It was really what saved the pulled pork. Nice place. Nice people. Ok food.
(3)Kevin K.
Damn this place is legit. Worth the drive from anywhere on the face of the planet!! Best dumplings and biscuits I've ever had, please don't tell my grandma.
(5)Kay W.
Tasty, tasty! We were greeted warmly by the hostesses. Our server was just the right amount of nice&attentive. Tea is already pre-served which helps with busy flow and could get watered down. Also have fountain drinks. On our visit there was mac n cheese, coleslaw, cabbage, chicken bog, hash, fried chicken, pulled pork and the crowd pleaser-smoked ribs. The ribs were rubbed and smoky and cut in sizes for easy enjoyment. LOL. Their famous biscuits were okay and would've been better if warmer. Didn't have any dessert, yet they had apple cobbler, sliced cakes and ice-cream. Prices are moderate- $14.95 pp for dinner and $12.95- Seniors. Kids were a little under $10. Maybe cheaper at lunch? One gripe was there's only single stall restroom each for ladies and gentlemen. Can only imagine the lines when it's really busy?? They are expanding the deck, so I hope they add a few more. All in all, my family is ready for second visit :)

Stopped en route to GA from Philly because of Yelp reviews. Definitely worth the 4 mile drive off 95 and a must stop from now on! The lunch buffet included dessert and drinks and all were clearly fresh and home made. The BBQ was juicy/tender and the vinegar BBQ sauce with a touch of mustard was perfect. For me, the best fried chicken I ever had and the pineapple casserole (with cheddar cheese) was delicious.

My husband sells insurance all over the state. I sometimes travel with him on Friday. We always try to find locally owned restaurants in our travels to try out. Today we lucked upon Shuler's BBQ in Latta, SC. I don't care where in the state you live this is worth the drive. In my 56 years I have never tasted better fried chicken and my mama made some of the best fried chicken ever! The barbecue was awesome and comes in spicy or mild. Sweet Potato casserole was so yummy I had it for desert. Don't forget to try the biscuits they are tiny little pillows of lightness. I didn't find anything that I samples that wasn't delicious. I am not a fan of liver hash so I didn't try that but everything else was first class. I understand that they add ribs for the dinner buffet and on Thursday evenings they have live bluegrass music. They are open Thursday, Friday and Saturday each week.

We came here as a pitstop from Orlando back home to DC. Really good home cooked BBQ buffet. The pulled pork was tender and juicy. The warmed BBQ sauce was tangy. The best sides were the mac n cheese and corn doused in butter. The ribs were just okay. An offering of brisket would've been nice. The apple cobbler with vanilla ice cream really hit the spot. I was so stuffed! Very comfy country setting with a nice view of a small lake. Staff was friendly.
(4)Jim C.
Really outstanding food! Everybody was so nice and friendly too. But the food was awesome, and well worth any trip. The best BBQ I've ever had in a restaurant.
(5)Jeff H.
This was my second time coming to Shuler's BBQ and I must say the experience and food gets better every time. The people are very hospitable and always have a smile on their faces. The food is amazing! I would have to say the best food was the ribs and chicken. They have a home made sauce that is to die for and I wish I could have taken some home with me. You also have to try the caramelized corn they cook it to perfection! You wont regret coming here!
(5)Dave D.
Shuler's is a SC BBQ buffet at its best. Pulled pork, ribs, sides. You can't go wrong.
(5)Michael F.
Shuler's is the real deal. Real, true, open pit Carolina pork BBQ. Don't come here for beef, there isn't any, just lots of tasty tasty pork. This isn't Kansas City so don't expect sweet sticky red sauce but do try the tangy mustard/vinegar sauce. We stopped in for lunch one Saturday and availed ourselves of the buffet, meats were pork, fried chicle and fried fish plus the usual steam table starch sides. The sides were OK but nothing special, dabble a little if you like but save room for the stars. The fried chicken is moist and does taste like they fry it in lard, same with the fish. Bad for you but oooooh so tasty. Since we were in for lunch we weren't able to try the dinner only ribs but I'd be willing to bet they're on a par with the pork. Open pit BBQ is a dying art, it's hard work and time consuming. Do your self a favor and stop by Shuler's for a taste.

Simply amazing. Worth the trip! When you see tour buses of diners pulling up to an eating establishment, you know management is doing something right!
(5)Dara L.
Good country cookin'! Fried chicken is super yummy but tastes like it is probably brined and fried in lard. Anyone who knows anything about fried chicken knows this makes the best ,but definately not healthy . But are we really looking for healthy food when we eat fried chicken? This trip we had squash casserole , mashed potatoes and gravy, fried okra, coleslaw and string beans. Loved it all except the mashed potatoes. The lady at the counter assured me that they were homemade but I am not convinced. The gravy definately was from a dry mix. We got our food to go because we knew that we did not have enough self control for the buffet. The buffet had BBQ, meatloaf, collard greens, fried chicken, limas and other items I could not get a good look at due to the crowd. They recently just started opening for lunch and remember they are only open Thursday, Fri and Sat. And they only take check or cash. The dinner buffet usually has even more choices including ribs.If you are on the way to or from the beach, this is a nice change from fast food.

This place is amazing. Stumbled upon it as a chow hound Rec and it is worth going way way out of your way to get to. Quality food, good people, great live music and an all around 5 star experience. Enjoy!
(5)Trish L.
Delicious traditional bar-b-que buffet. My favorite were the ribs, corn and Mac n cheese. Great atmosphere overlooking the water.
(4)Andy L.
Best BBQ anywhere but not the best thing on the buffet. Try, also, the chicken, ribs, fried corn, even the rutabagas are wonderful.
(5)David M.
Best darn BBQ in the country! Friendly people, tasty food, and great live music... What more could you ask for!?!
(5)Ricky W.
Very good bbq, ribs, and fried chicken--Shulers is really good. My wife eats the skin on the chicken and leaves the meat. That's how good the chicken is! It's convenient to I- 95, clean and spacious.
(4)John M.
This place blows my mind. My wife and I stumbled on to this place (having missed the exit for our original selection). It was 5:30 on a Friday, the buffet was in full swing. Get there early if you can, but go. You will not leave hungry or disappointed.
