Saw the commercials on TV about FATZ restaurant. Looks enticing. Tooke the family there to eat. Should have known we were going to be disapointed right from the Get Go when we walked in. 2 Hostesses were in a conversation. We didn't know if we should wait to be seated (didn't want to interupt them), or if we should just find our own seat. We stareted to head towards the dining area. The short blonde Hostess finally acknowledged us & guided us towards the opposite direction. In the BAR. Wow...Really!! She seated us in a booth between 2 other couples dining. TVs were on. Boxing & Baseball. Why on earth would you usher a family with kids, into the BAR area, unless we specifically asked for that area? makes no sense to me. The restaurant wasn't busy & there were plenty of other open booths in the dining area.. The interior is similar to Chili's restaurant, and the menu is like Denny's. The pictures look good, but the selection is very average...same ol, same ol. The waitress was friendly & quickly took our orders. Food took a while to come out. We all ordered burgers. Our shared appetizer was nachos. A plate of red, yellow & green (heavuly dyed), was placed on our table, as well as deep fried bread rolls, still dripping in grease, with plastic cups of sweetened butter. The brightly dyed nachos were drizzled in cheese straight from a jar, beans, jalapenos & salsa from a can. Nothing was "Fresh". All from a jar or can. Mediocre taste. Burgers were big, meat was tasty, too much butter on the buns. Soda's taste like they were filtered thru a swimming pool. We couldn't have a conversation because the volume of the TVs in the Bar was loud. Not to mention every 5 minutes the 2 Hostesses (the short blonde & the brunette with glasses), were constantly wandering into the bar area to watch Baseball on the TV. the brunette yelled "SH#T" when the other team got a point. My kids eyes lit up...we all heard it. We asked for the check, boxed up our food & got the heck outta there. We definitely WONT be back. The one star is for the ample parking available.

First time ever eating at any Fatz location. Tried it in a whim. Looking for something different to try in the area. Service was exception. Paulina was fantastic and the manager was friendly and welcoming. Food was ok. Typical fair for a chain restaurant. Nothing signature to note but also nothing to complain about either. Would eat here again if the family requested it. Family friendly, large booths. Large portions. Good, if not fresh, Cheesecake.

I think this is an excellent destination for supper. Food is very good quality, but the menu does lack options for "unique" flavors. The rolls are amazing, and the hostess always does a great job of handling any size crowd. The owner is heavily involved in the community, and really makes an effort to earn your business.

Great place to eat for all occasions. Simply the best food around town. The chicken fingers are good, the seafood is good, and the steaks very good.

The best thing about Fatz is the customer service. Our waiter is always excellent. The food isn't bad. It's just not local. I guess you could describe Fatz as somewhere in between a mom and pop and a chain restaurant. You won't leave saying, "Wow!" But I bet you'll still leave satisfied. We will be back.

Enjoyed the Fatz combo. Ribs were fall off the bone good. Calabash chicken and shrimp were excellent. James, the waiter just the right amount of attentive. Will eat there again

Maybe I came in a bad night? Wife, 13 year old son and I came in on Saturday night, 7ish. There was a wait but we were sat fairly quickly. Appetizer was cheese fries and chicken tenders. Nothing special, soso. Salad came out with meal. Ribs were kinda dry and not very meaty. Club sandwich was fine but again nothing special. Chicken and pasta with broccoli in a sauce was totally bland. Had no taste so didn't eat it. Manager did remove from the bill but never came by the table (that's restaurant 101 in my book when there's a problem of any kind). Waitress was also just kinda "there" but not very often. All in all just a blah experience. Nothing to make me want to return or suggest to others.

This location is easy to get to off the Interstate. Set up almost exactly as every other Fatz. Good place for lunch and quick service. Food is consistently good and usually never a wait at lunch time. You can't beat the price for the lunch combos either.

Went with hubby for late lunch. He ordered club sandwich, I ordered a chicken pot pie. My meal came with a salad that I passed to my husband, thinking the pot pie would be more than enough. I was very wrong. The waitress told me it would take a little longer which was not a problem. She brought both the meals together and she warned me that mine was very hot. I looked very good served in a dish that looked like a pan. It had a even golden crust, I poked a hole in to allow it to start to cool, surprised to see a lot of gravy and not much else. I started to break up the crust looking for the vegetables and chicken. Surprise! Very few vegetables and NO chicken. Glad they served it with a spoon. Would I go back? Doubt it. By the way the club sandwich was ok. Waitress was very good and totally alone in the dining room.

All you can eat ribs sounded good. The ribs were so dry that I was choking, trying to swallow. Mentioned to server, she said she was sorry and did nothing else. No tea refill until she brought the ticket. Mentioned dry meat again. She said she was sorry again. She offered to do nothing, nor did she call the manager. We have been a customer of this Fatz since it opened; lately the quality and service are going down.

Lunch was ok. The service was good, the food was mediocre. My MIL said the shrimp bisque was too salty, and to us it looked like thick white gravy in the bowl. My calabash chicken wrap was good and fresh but surprisingly had very little chicken in it. I ordered fries that came out as steak fries, which I didn't care for. My hub's Key West fish sandwich was huge and was the standout of all that was ordered. He said it was delicious, and he enjoyed the slaw as well.

Food was ok, service could definitely use some improvement. Our salads came out after our meals, and we asked for more bread, which arrived about 2 minutes before out to-go boxes. 2 at our table had ribs which looked tasty, and my husband and I had calabash chicken tenders. The tenders were decent, but I prefer a more breaded tender. Overall I would say it was average. Prices are way better for lunch.

Although this is centrally located in Irmo it is not the best chain restaurant to go to in town. It is generally packed and the food served is mediocre at best. I would love for this establishment to bring something else to the table as far as what it has to offer. The locals in this area deserve a nice quality chain restaurant in this town -- I'm just not convinced this is it.

We do really like Fatz, and the service is pretty good, though we order take out quite a bit and many times my husband ends up sitting outside in the car waiting and has to get out and go in and find the food which by now is almost cold. We do like the food but it does all have a similar "same grease" taste, it's very very rich and I can never finish. Tasty, maybe too tasty.

For a chain restaurant, Bruce Drexler's place is simply outstanding. Comfortable atmosphere, food that tastes "cheffed" rather than cooked; I have never had a meal that is less than great. Great Value. They are also generous with the wine, which is much appreciated. Chicken Tenders and Shrimp and Grits are as good as it gets. One of our "Go To" restaurants.

Service excellent, chili was very good, rolls are addictive... If all the Fatz are like this I can't wait to be back in South Carolina!
