Without a doubt one of the very best on Hilton Head. We started with Chef's appetizer special- a delicious presentation of asparagus wrapped in prosciutto, shaved cheese and drizzled with truffle oil..incredible ....my wife very much enjoyed the shrimp scampi over lobster rissotto- not at all skimpy on the Scampi or the lobster.. Fantastic she said. I could not have been happier with the NY steak--medium rare minus... Are you serious perfectly cooked! The Forrest mushrooms accompanying it were wonderful as were the green beans and fresh made mashed potatoes. The meal rivals anything anywhere ....service was very attentive without being intrusive. I almost never give five stars.......now twice in a row for this establishment.

Very good meal, excellent and attentive service. Gem of a find in HHI. Took our 8 year old son and found a great kids menu and an environment that was appealing to young and old alike. Don't be turned off by the strip mall. Surprising location but that did not deter from the experience at all.

Overall we were very pleased with our experience here. Once inside, you forget the place is located in a strip mall. Nice ambience. Artwork by the SCAD students everywhere. Everyone's food was solid. Service was good. Definitely one of the better restaurants on HHI (this was my third time vacationing here).

Lobster bisque was amazing, so was the fig salad. The entrees felt like a bit of a step down afterwards though still pretty good (Ravioli/Chicken). Overall a very pleasant experience and really really great service. Will be back.

Fantastic little family restaurant that serves outstanding Italian. They even start you out with a little drink and amuse bouche, then you have a choice of terrific Italian food. My husband had the Shrimp Scampi, which didn't look anything like what you would think that would be, but he said it was delicious. My daughter got the spinach and chard ravioli, beautiful and she said it was also very good. I had the shrimp pesto linguine and it was just delicious. Tons of pasta, and we took that home for us to eat for lunch the next day. A delightful experience, top notch service and wonderful food. Don't be deterred by the strip mall exterior.

The service was pleasant, fast. The design and atmosphere was pleasant too. The appetizer was delicious. But main course was just ordinary not as I expected.

We felt welcomed from our first step in the restaurant. Asked if we'd like the wine cellar seating room with a great atmosphere and we agreed. Lena, our waitress, greeted us with such a flare, and has an impeccable knowledge of the wine and food choices. When asked for her opinion she lit up with a huge small. We started with a Martini (Sunday - drink of the night) followed by a glass of wine with dinner. We shared the Arugula Salad; followed with the Osso Buco and Panko Shrimp Scampi; a wonderful, mouth- watering meal. The food was "fresh from the area (when possible); tasted fabulous; and was aesthetically pleasing to the eye." A great 5 start dining experience all around.

We were a bit concerned when we walked in and thought maybe we were underdressed, but we ended up being fine in casual dress. Of all the places we ate during the week in HH, this was our favorite. The staff was awesome with everything, the food was tremendous, the ambiance relaxing. Our kids loved each item they ordered and vowed to go back if we let them. The bartender even entertained them with his "bar crab".

Since I've been on the Island, I've been looking for a nice piece of fresh fish. I got it tonight here. Pan seared Mahi Mahi, on a bed of rice and spinach with a mango salsa on top. The fish was cooked perfectly, the salsa on top went great with it, and the rice and spinach had wonderful flavors to it. The wait staff was attentive, Paige was my waitress, took excellent care of me. I will definately be back. Best meal I've had since I'm here.

Excellent restaurant with the best quality food. The staff is amazing and very friendly, they weren't rushing us through our meals and were very attentive. The atmosphere felt perfect and everyone enjoyed their food. You really have to dine here at least once if you're visiting the island. You won't be disappointed. I will definitely be recommending this restaurant to all of my friends and family for future dining!

Excellent experience from the complimentary champagne at the outset to the French pressed coffee at the end. Service was charming and attentive and the food divine. Extremely reasonable prices. Would definitely return!

My wife and I had dinner there recently. Although the reviews sounded good I am wondering what the people who gave them good reviews know about Italian food. The veal is not very good. The bolognaise sauce is not the real thing. Also the pasta thgat we had was way undercooked...not al dente. If you want very good Italian food in HH you should try Michael Anthony's or UMBRA. Much better for the money.

We had a great time but some things are off. Our food was good but not great. Felt a little bit overpriced. We had a very attentive server but some things just fell short. This place wanted to be ultra high end but forgot its in a strip mall. Great ambiance and decor, but still not the best food in HHI. The bar was great. They had Lobster Pot Pie which was to die for... but came at an insane price! Give it a try.

Wow, this place was fantastic. The service was great. Brought complimentary champagne, and a very good appetizer. Very classy. The bread was good and everyone loved their meal. Salads were excellent, pastas were great. The food at other tables looked great too. Looking forward to coming back. They are doing it right.

Treated us so well, even though we were first time visitors. Excellent restaurant with great service! Try the house special tiramisu for dessert. It's awesome!

This is a hard review to write, because the appetizers and service were amazing, but the dinner left a lot to be desired....so I'm gonna base this on the appetizers only. If it were based on dinner, this would be fewer stars... First - we made a reservation online and were greeted by a lovely young hostess when we arrived. She showed us to her table and told us our server would be along. He came just a moment later with a champagne toast to welcome us to the restaurant. We ordered our drinks and then decided on Lobster Bisque and Baked Brie to share as appetizers. They were served hot and quickly to us and were just so delicious. The bisque was among the best I've ever had and the brie was too delicious to describe. Then there was dinner....there were so many good things on the menu that we were having a hard time deciding but both like the sounds of the angliotti. We asked the waiter his opinion between that and other dishes and he raved about the angilotti dish so much that we both got it. We were disappointed to say the least. There were 4 of them on each plate with mushrooms scattered around. The sauce was tasteless and the mushrooms were flavorless. We both left satisfied because we had an appetizer but the dinner was definitely not what we were hoping for. Maybe we got it on an off night? But would not recommend that dish...

Each dinner I have had at Trattoria Divina is better than the last.... chef Hugo is imaginative and creative, the staff is generous and friendly, and the portions are impressive. This restaurant exemplifies what a truly exceptional dining experience should be...a treat for the soul as well as the palate. LOVE IT!!

We had a birthday dinner here and while there was a blip in service, they went out of their way to make it right. They got very busy and our appetizer got lost in the mix. They realized the error and rally went out of there way to make the rest of the meal outstanding. I would go back...

This place in a gem in Hilton Head. We felt at though we were treated like royalty. The food and selection was great. We got in late to start our trip and were so very pleased with the reception we received when we arrived. We were treated like welcome guests and the food was remarkable. We ordered from the price fixe menu and each selection was wonderful. The wine list was great and Brandon was a fantastic server. The attention to detail and the level of the food quality and presentation would be difficult to beat.

We had an absolutely wonderful meal here the other night. Our server was Jesse, and the service was perfect. We had carpaccio and caprese to start. I had a pasta with porcini mushrooms which was delicious. Not too heavy, and a nice portion sice. Others in my party had the bolognese, lobster ravioli, sea bass, and some kind of shrimp with lobster risotto. Everyone was very happy with their meals. I will definitely remember this place next time in HH.

Went with my family while vacationing in Hilton Head. Overall it was decent. My oldest son has a gluten allergy so it was nice to see that they had gluten free pasta. That being said.....the pasta was not cooked properly as it was underdone. Additionally my other son had a pasta bolognaise and it definitely had an odd flavor and thus he did not enjoy it. My daughter had the spinach and chard ravioli and it was very bland. on the positive side, I had the linguini Alla pescatora which was excellent with the pasta done perfectly and a decent amount of fresh seafood which was also to perfection. My wife and father in law had the pasta with grilled diver scallops and it was very good....not great. If I come back to vacation here in Hilton Head, I would give Trattoria Divina another chance. I do want to give our waiter credit as he was attentive and professional and when we addressed out dissatisfaction he did offer to re-do the entrees, but we politely declined. When we received the bill, he did discount our tab for the meals that were less than satisfactory.

We had a fantastic meal here, which is no small feat with two small children and four "foodie" adults. We started with a deconstructed bruschetta, baked brie, and salad; all were very tasty. The seafood was fresh, light, and well prepared. The kids loved their buttered angel hair and fried shrimp. The service was excellent, but there was none of the snootiness that you sometimes encounter at finer restaurants. The ambience was also lovely.

This our first time at Trattoria Divina for restaurant week. Wow. What a delightful meal. My family is from southern Italy and have never had the taste of northern Italy. The taste are such contrast to one an other but I was extremely pleased with the dinner and staff.

My Husband and I are in love with this place! Best food on the Island! The chief even made special arrangements to make me chicken parmesan! We were simply amazed and highly recommend this place!

Great food. Fantastic customer service. This spot is tucked away and you wouldn't notice it on first pass, but the complimentary champagne and the free appetizer were welcome shifts for the norm. The food was also delicious and properly Italian. If, on the island, I would definitely say that give Trattoria Divina a strong consideration.

All I can say is -- WOW!! I'm just afraid that with too many great reviews, I won't be able to get a reservation in the future. Let's start from when you walk in. Very nice ambience with classic Italian background music---not Frankie, though. Ornate ceiling with classic Roman decor. A small bar area in the back with around 10 stools. Not really set up for eating at the bar. We were instantly greeted and seated by the window. The establishment is 4 years old, but new management for only 3 years. Executive Chef Hugo Lee also has a place in San Diego. We were started off with a complimentary glass of champagne. Then served an Asian Pear topped with bleu cheese and green sauce. For appetizer, we ordered the baked brie which comes baked in a philo dough with a bruschetta type bread and granny smith apple slices (thin). Their wine list isn't extensive, but does have some variety and reasonably priced classic wines. I saw a 2005 Silver Oak Cab which is quite rare on any wine list. I would have preferred the 2007. Instead we had a Malbec which, for the value, was perfect. While a different server came with the pear and the appetizer, our main server was Jesse who did an excellent job providing detailed explanations of the offering and made great recommendations. For the main course, my wife had the Ravioli di Spinaci which she claims was the best she's ever eaten. It's served with a citrus based oil with mini artichokes on the side. For my main course, I had the Aregosta E Gamberone which is an 8 oz lobster tail smothered in a light cream sauce with 2 fan tail breaded shrimp over mashed potatoes. Except for the small tail fin, the entire shell is removed making it very easy to eat. An finally dessert--- I usually drink my desserts, but Jesse mentioned the fresh gelatos and sorbets for their Mother's Day specials and hit the bulls eye when he mentioned Passion Fruit Sorbet. That's not something you find all the time and many times they don't get it right. It's easy to substitute orange juice with passion fruit flavor to get a passion fruit sorbet. Not this time. They really nailed it. This was like eating a fresh passion fruit. It was quite thick and slightly gummy, but very flavorful. My new favorite restaurant on the island. Great job.

This place was a little pricy for the quality but the service was great! The quality of food from their limited early bird menu wasn't as good as the main menu items. The lobster bisque which was really talked up in reviews was a little bland. Also, the reason we picked the place was for the lobster pot pie: which was very good it just didn't taste like lobster pot pie: there were not the traditional vegetables you find in a pot pie as well as hardly any sauce. However there were very large portions of lobster and the lobster ravioli and shrimp scampi were excellent. If you go don't rush to make it to the early bird special, take your time and go for the Italian dishes: which are their specialty after all!

They're trying but it's a stretch to give 3 stars. The atmosphere and staff are authentic enough but the food just doesn't hit the mark. Too heavy on the sauce and the pasta isn't fresh. Kids menu is too expensive for a bowl of noodles ($8.95) and I've had better sausage on a take out pizza. The fresh mozzarella app lacked "freshness." A pro is the bread. But it's crazy to compliment the free bread. They greet you with a swig of complimentary champagne but it really isn't worth it in the long run.

OMG stop the press and make sure u stop ur feet and jump right in to this fabulous dining!! I can't not say enough about how amazing the food was!! My mouth was doing cart wheels the entire time and everything I ate!! Hulo I bow down to u ( he's the executive Chef) he put his heart, soul , love and foot in everything I had and my sidekicks too. All the pasta is homemade, ( I'm already drooling as I write this ha). It seems like majority make of everything we had were done from scratch! Pasta, bread and cheese! They even bring you complementary sample of wine. I have been to Italy few times so u know the real from the Olive Garden taste! They make there own mozzarella cheese from scratch for Pete sake! I almost wondered if they mashed their own grapes to make homemade wine!??? Humm do they? Needless to say my experience was fabulous and it would be a shame if you were on the island and didn't stop in for a taste of Italy !!!!

We decided to try this and overall it was a pretty good experience. The service was absolutely fantastic, and the food was average. However, there was a lingering smell of cannibas throughout the restaurant prevented us from enjoying our experience. Furthermore, I do not think we will be going back.

A fairly new restaurant in the area, and very good overall. Its tucked into the corner of a strip mall, so it can be tough to find. But when we called to get directions, they were very friendly and led us right there. The service was good throughout, and the interior is quite nicely done to reflect a upscale Italian restaurant. The complimentary champagne to start and the bread with both butter and hummus was a great touch. My wife and I split the special heirloom tomato salad to start with, which was very fresh. For my entree, I went with the Guittarini con Pollo e Salsiccia- basically a linguine variant mixed with chicken and Italian sausage and topped with spicy marina sauce. Everything was cooked perfectly, and the sauce had just the right amount of kick to it. I really enjoyed the meal and experience.

While trying to find a restaurant that had an available reservation, my wife stumbled upon Trattoria Divina. Such a great find for us because the food was excellent. We were visiting from NY and needless to say, very picky about Italian food! Both ravioli dishes, Ravioli di Spinaci and the Agnolotti Tartufo Nero e porcini were delicious. The atmosphere was friendly and our server Jesse was excellent. He was very helpful in making suggestions and was accommodating to our children. We will definitely return to sample more of Chef Hugo Lee's delicious dishes!

Service was spectacular! Complimentary prosecco and caprese salad. Our table was ready upon arrival. Garlic butter with bread was tasty! Everyone enjoyed their dishes--best bolognase I've ever had. Meat and fish dishes were well liked also! Definitely recommend!

Fantastic service started with complimentary prosecco and was followed by a light tapa from the chef. This was our fourth visit to this hidden Italian restaurant just outside of Sea Pines and we haven't been disappointed yet. We never feel rushed when we eat at Trattoria--it's always an excellent meal for our family during a busy week in HHI.

I guess I'm one of the few who did not like this resturant. We had a group of 4. The veal was tasteless however the sauce was ok but lack seasoning. The pasta itself lacked enough of the sauce and was very salty. The shrimp was average and the pasta (homemade) was overcooked. The sauce was ok and nothing special. For the prices I expected alot more. It is overpriced and the atmosphere is just a strip mall. I was not impressed and would not recommend.

Atmosphere was pleasant: 4 stars. Service was adequate: 3 stars. Food was over priced for the expected great reviews that we read on yelp before going: 2 stars. Overall average: 3 stars This is not a place that we will go back to. For two adults and two kids, no appetizers or salads, we payed over $80. We drank water and ordered no wine. Simple dinner.

Great food! Best Italian we have had in the island and I would highly recommend this find. In a plaza but a real gem and make sure you make reservations as they were packed!

Good food, but expensive for early bird, which was not a special. We had a group for early bird and quite expensive and ha, the bartender changed us $7.50 ($8.10 house wine with tax) for my wife's wine, mine was only $5 with the meal. Not going back.

I cannot say enough about how good the food and service are here! We are here for the second night in a row. They do some very special things for their customers and the little touches are lovely. Highly recommend: mussels appetizer, the lobster and shrimp scampi combo, orecchiette and shrimp, blood orange salad....and pretty much EVERYTHING!!! Spencer was a great server, I'd request him every time!
(5)
Gibble T.
Wine service bread all fine the main I ordered (spinach ravioli) was really underwhelming and watery. For the price paid compared to what you get at an equally prices Italian restaurant we were surprised. The other Maine ordered in my party were also not so amazing for the price. Sorry won't go back.

Service was great and the NY strip was something I could eat every night of my life! We were presented with a complimentary taste of Prosecco and fig with goat cheese which were both delicious and just added to the ambiance! Felt like I was back in Europe for an hour.
(4)
Stuart S.
An outstanding experience! The lobster bisque is the best I've ever had and the NY strip was the quality you'd expect from a prime steak house. Great service from a knowledgeable waiter who recommended a perfect bottle of wine with the meal. Definitely a must next time we're in HHI.

Absolutely phenomenal! We were sure to return after trying last year. We were a party of 9 with 5 children. Some of the children have severe nut and a dairy allergy and they were beyond accommodating! Calamari and Arrosto Aspargi as appetizers were outstanding. Service is My husband ordered the Osso Bucco again and was not disappointed! I ordered one of their specials, risotto with shrimp, spring vegetables and pesto...so delicious! Already looking forward to returning next year!

Great experience. We forgot to mention a food allergy when we ordered. One of our dinners had the allergen. 100% our fault. They did everything to help including the chef himself. He asked questions and suggested. A new perfect meal came out 5 minutes later. No extra charge. Thanks to them. An outstanding meal made perfect with a great service attitude.

Mark M.
Service was excellent no complaints. I thought the marinara sauce with meat was too sweet but I didn't say anything. My partner liked his seafood pasta. We didn't try the gelato because it was vanilla, chocolate and banana something. It was really dead for a Friday evening.

Amanda W.
Totally unassuming, non-descript location in a strip mall. But delicious good with great service. Everything we ordered (table of 7, with 2 kids) was great. Even the bread was delicious. The winning order was the Carbonara. It comes with home made pasta with fresh crab meat on top. Best carbonara I have had. Waitstaff was super friendly and very attentive. Chef Hugo came out to meet us and he was warm and friendly as well. Great Italian was a nice surprise in HHI.

Another great Italian restaurant on Hilton Head. Trattoria Divina is a bit more upscale than other restaurants. The decor is somewhat formal but very comfortable, Our meals were all exceptional. The service was very good. We will return.

I can not speak any higher of this place. Trattorina Divina was the perfect way to end a great vacation. Great service, attentive staff and the food was spectacular. It's a bit hidden in an un-assuming strip mall just out side of Sea Pines. Low key enough to be casual friendly.

This may be the exception, after reading all the reviews. Visited Trattoria Divina on Saturday, February 14 (Valentine's Day). There were 6 of us. We were visiting my husband's cousins and took the group out to dinner. There were but 5 items to choose from that evening. One pasta dish, which was a wide pasta noodle with fresh tomatoes, capers and olives...supposedly there were suppose to be anchovies, but I couldn't find any. Two of our party had the lamb, one sent it back because the dish was too cold, the other sent it back because the lamb was as tough as leather. Very disappointed to begin with that there was a very limited menu and super disappointed that we treated our hosts to a horrible dinner. This was not an inexpensive dinner for the 6 of us. Our hosts live in the area and now, they are hesitant to go back there for dinner. I realize that a 'holiday' is not the perfect day to go out to dinner, but it should be!

Wow! What an amazing restaurant! We visited their stand at "The Italian Heritage Festival" on Saturday and were impressed by the fact that the chef specially prepared me a portion of pasta without pancetta in an outdoor, makeshift kitchen in the blazing heat! We decided to visit the real restaurant a few days later and were treated like royalty from start to finish. They have a prix fix menu that is so awesome it's just ridiculous! The high quality and amount of food that my husband had was almost unbelievable! From his lobster bisque, Caesar salad, to the over sized scallops in his entree along with handmade pasta to order and a gigantic tiramisu dessert, he was quite pleased with his meal, especially at a measly $29.95! Their roasted tomato cream sauce was the best ever as well. Our server Dominic took good care of us and the chef personally created a vegetarian, gluten free dish just for me. He also sent us a complimentary 3 gelato dessert enclosed in an ice sculpture! A must visit on the island!

Well I am glad I read reviews or may have been turned off by the restaurant as soon as we walked it. There is a strange odor but it is from the cigar shop next door because this restaurant is in a plaza but you quickly get use to the smell and then it is not an issue. We are pescetarians and the waiter was very helpful to identify dishes without dairy and said the chef would adjust any dishes to our likely except the ravoli dishes that were already prepared. First they offered the table a crispy italian bread with choice of butter or hummus. We had the calamari and they substitued a marinara sauce for dipping. It was very good. My husband had the special Alaskan Halibut special and it was so fresh. One of the best pieces of fish we have recently. I ordered an appetizer as my entree. It was the scallops (2 scallops) over beluga lentils and it was excellent. We liked our experience and meal. Although the decor is very nice you are certainly not on the water or enjoying the HH Island views but if you need a good meal, you will be satisfied here.

Kim F.
My husband and I had dinner here while on vacation. They brought us complimentary champagne and an appetizer sample right away, which we thought was a very nice gesture to their customers. Their bread is served with hummus which is unusual for an Italian restaurant, but we loved it. The food was incredible, from the salads to the entrees to the desserts. My only suggestion is that we ate on the patio and it was extremely quiet - some music would provide a better atmosphere.

Our group of nine enjoyed the environment, and excellent server and delicious meals of various types. Carbonara was the best of all.

The atmosphere was nice--perfect for an intimate double date. I ordered the carbonara and loved it; my friend, who knows her carbonara, also had it and said it was the best carbonara she'd ever put in her mouth.

Not sure exactly how to sum up our experience here. Really good food...really bad/weird service. We arrived and there were only 3 other tables occupied in the restaurant...that made me nervous. It took 10 minutes for someone to come to our table and another 10 minutes to bring wine (which was warm). That's a long time for such an empty restaurant. I love a long relaxing meal, but it needs to have some sort of flow to it...not just long for the sake of long. They brought us a nice glass of prosecco and amuse bouche of some sort, which I remember being pretty tasty...compliments of the restaurant. After we got our wine, we waited again to put in our order. When the waiter took his paper out to write our order a pack of cigarettes fell out of his apron onto the floor...classy. Like I said, the food was really good. We had a calamari with a spicy sauce that we really enjoyed. We shared a caprese salad, which was good. My wife had a bolognese that she really enjoyed (I tried it and wasn't a fan). I had a cioppino pasta that was possibly the best I've ever had. It had a delicious sauce and a huge amount of seafood. As we were paying, the waiter made a particularly inappropriate comment to my wife. He had good intentions, but failed MISERABLY in the attempt. I probably would have gone one more star if it wasn't for this part of the evening.

Excellent service and fresh food. Our table of 6 had different appetizers and different entrees. We all shared at some point because we wanted the others to have a taste. Two of us went off the menu and asked for a trio of chef choice raviolis and chicken parm. Wonderful! The after dinner espresso and desserts were also delicious. Definitely recommend.

Probably tied with the Jazz Corner for the best meal we had on our entire trip to the SouthEast. Waitstaff very attentive. The mussels as well as the lobster bisque for appetizers were outstanding. The crab salad was heavenly. We had the mushroom and truffle pasta dish which was amazing. The NY steak was very good as well. The halibut special had great flavor but was slightly overdone, so we asked if they could remove it from the bill rather than make a new one. The chef felt so bad he came out and personally apologized (totally unnecessary but very sweet) and they comp'd us a gelato dessert which you must try....so creative and unique! Finally, we had a molten chocolate cake which was truly molten...amazing!

Just spent a week in Hilton Head and this restaurant produced the best meal of all the high end restaurants. Exceptional value for the quality and quantity of their food. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable.
(5)
Ray P.
The food, and particularly the sauces were truly authentic Italian. The level of service was first class. Very attentive to our group's needs and never forced. Our group of 8 golfers from all over the U.S. was never so quiet all week as when enjoying the rich and abundant offerings. We learned that if there was something a little different wanted from what was on the menu, they will do everything possible to accommodate your request. Our "Band of Brothers" annually visits HH and we have already added it our list of "must eat at" restaurants for twice next year and are looking forward celebrating our last night's award dinner in the banquet room.

If you're looking for a nice, somewhat pricey night out on the island, this is a GREAT spot for you. The wine menu is very extensive and the food lives up to the hype on the menu. The Linguine ala Pescatora might come off as expensive at $30, but it's a massive plate that will surely last you two meals (I'm 6'5'', 260 and I couldn't even eat it all!). As far as the wine goes, we were looking for a mid-range Petite Sirah and the waitress was incredibly helpful in finding the right wine for us. She brought over another fellow worker who knew more about the reds and got us the best wine for what we were craving. Great high end pick!
(5)
Fred H.
Our food was very good. A previous post have mentioned a cigar smoke smell coming from a cigar shop next door. It was noticeable when we first walked in but I got used to it quickly. It bothered my wife a little more. We are both pretty sensitive to smells so it may not be an issue for you. I'm going to give them 3 stars anyway because the waitress was very good and so was our food. I had tortellini stuffed with mushrooms and a creamy sauce that was excellent. The bread was fresh baked sourdough and it was the best bread we had all week.

Tried this restaurant during a visit to Hilton Head after reading the wonderful reviews. There were seven of us and we tried a combo of specials and menu items. All the dishes we tried were excellent, from appetizers on. The portions were a bit larger than necessary, but made wonderful leftovers. The Service was attentive and the wine menu was extensive. We Would all highly recommend it and plan to visit again.

I'll preface this review by saying that we were well taken care of by the wait staff at this restaurant (in spite of the main server's condescending attitude) and thus they deserve five stars for seeing that any needs we had were anticipated almost as soon as we thought to need them. However, almost as soon as we were seated, I discovered that this was not going to be the delicious Italian dining experience I had hoped to share with my husband for our anniversary. Everything on the menu was priced very high, which we anticipated. Yet, it was mediocre at best, which we did not anticipate at that price. First off, if you are looking for traditional Italian dishes, you won't be finding them here. There are no alfredos, lasagna's, or spaghettis. There are Italian dishes sure, and maybe this is a high brow foodie's dream, but to be rated #1 for best Italian and best restaurant in Hilton Head is laughable. My husband's shrimp and scallops dish was covered in an orange tomato-based sauce that was definitely not marinara - I don't think it was meant to be - but it reminded me most of Chef-boyardee (aftertaste and all), I couldn't grab my stale-tasting Riesling quickly enough to wash it down! As for my dish, my Filet Mignon, it was tasty, but I've definitely had a steak comparable at Longhorn for about ten dollars less than I paid for it here (the mashed potatoes are better at Longhorn, too). All this would not have been worth more than a grumble, had we not received our bill to discover that those Caesar salads they asked if we wanted to go with our meals were *seven* dollars a pop. No meat, brown lettuce, and poorly made croutons for seven dollars a piece. Adding side salads added fourteen dollars to our bill. If I am going to pay for a seven dollar side salad, I am going to expect it to taste better than any Caesar salad I've ever had before. Frankly, I've had a much better Caesar salad at Carabbas and it came free with my entree! If I wanted to spend $110 on a meal, I would have gone somewhere like Ruth's Chris steakhouse. In fact, my husband and I have spent less eating at Ruth's Chris than we did here, and were much more satisfied. Finally, when I spoke to the concierge at the Crowne Plaza Resort tonight, she stated that she had been getting a lot of mixed reviews about this place. It seems rather fishy that all the reviews here are so fantastic. This place puts on airs but their dishes can't live up to the hype. Perhaps my husband and I just aren't fancy enough to pay high prices for mediocre food. Next time we'll just feed each other McDonalds while soaking in a bubble bath if we want to feel high brow.

Unfortunately we went on a night where they got unexpectedly slammed with customers so the service was a little off. We had a nice start to the meal with a free glass of champagne and free small piece of mozzarella caprese from the chef. We ordered some bruschetta and waited about 20 minutes but it never arrived, but our main meals did. No big deal, but we pointed it out to the waiter to make sure it was taken off of our bill. A few minutes later the owner appeared with an expensive bottle of wine to make it up to us. Very generous of him. However, the meals were just OK, which is why I'm rating it with 3 stars. We ordered the Linguini Arrabiatta with Shrimp. MEH! Very bland, not much flavor. Our friend had the Penne Bolognese which she really enjoyed. The place has a nice ambiance, I would suspect good service when they aren't slammed. I might be willing to give this one another try one day.

Excellent food and the outstanding attentative staff can not be compared to any other! Food was delicious, hot and fast coming out to the table! Server and all staff were awesome, which made our experience even better! Will always plan to eat here when we are traveling to this area. Wish there was one in our local area! As usual always a treat to enjoy a real Italian meal here! Best value by far! Where do you get your bartendars, drinks are the best in town! A+++ Thanks! -Ken and Lindy

Great food & great service. We were nervous when we arrived because we have 3 children under 5, but they were wonderful to us. Food was incredible and great wine selection

We recently visited this restuarant on "date night". As locals we have a few favorite restuarants and this is by far the best place on the island. I almost don't want to tell anyone. I think we'll become regulars.

We ate here on a previous visit to Hilton Head. The food and wine was amazing and the service was excellent. We will definitely visit here again!

Best fine dining experience I've had on the island!!! They really bring their West-Coast dining experience to Hilton Head. The meals were reasonably priced for fine dining. I was not overstuffed after the meal, including dessert. The coffee was poured from French Presses . . . this alone shows their dedication to detail and the entire dining experience. I can't say enough about this restaurant. It shocked me enough to write only my second review on Yelp. We are lucky they're here.

The ambiance was beautiful, service impeccable. If I hadn't had the most amazing italian meal I have ever had in my life a few weeks earlier in Pittsburgh, I would be giving more stars. We started with a recommendation on a sauvignon blanc. Nice choice. For appetizers, we both opted for salads. I begain with the Insalata Mandarino. I loved it. He had the Insalata Savolardo. He enjoyed his as well. For entrees, this was tough. I was torn between many dishes, but narrowed it down to two, Mezza Rigate and Cappasante Alla Divina. I asked my waiter if I could get the mezza rigate without pancetta because I'm pescetarian. He said, I should probably get the Cappasante. The fresh tomato fettucini was very nice. He opted for the Linguini Alla Pescatora. Having tasted his, I must say his was very bland. Amongst all that fresh fish, I thought it would have had more flavor. It was very nice, but a hefty price tag came along with it. I will most likely return and try some of the other pairings on the menu.

I ate there this evening with four members of my family and we were all beyond impressed. We were greeted with complimentary glasses of Prosecco and a small appetizer from the chef. We ordered a variety of items and every one was truly excellent. We especially loved the Cozze Pernod and all of the pasta dishes. The bread was served with real butter (wonderful, too many places now give you "fake butter") and a kind of roasted garlic spread that was delicious (we should have asked what it was but were too carried away with all of the great food). Even though we were all full we ordered dessert since we didn't want to miss it at this wonderful place. The service was impeccable, many thanks to each employee that helped out including Brandon, our server. One of the owners, Brett, came out and spoke with us several times. Thanks again for a lovely meal!

My wife and I ate at Trattoria Divina on our first night at Hilton Head. Since we had not eaten lunch, we were starving and arrived 15 minutes before the restaurant was to open for dinner. Despite our mistake, the staff immediately invited us in and seated us at the bar while they determined if the kitchen was ready for diners. We sat at the bar having a very informative discussion about Italian wines with the bartender and then were seated at a table (t0 minutes before normal opening time). The food itself was delicious. My wife had Pasta Pomodoro which I usually find as being too bland for my taste but the restaurant's version had enough spice to be interesting while retaining the lightness of the dish. I had the black truffle and mushroom stuffed agnolotti in a wild mushroom and marsala cream sauce that was out of this world. While we were eating the staff gave us tips on what to see in the local area since this was our first trip to Hilton Head. After a very pleasant 1 1/2-hour dinner, my wife and I left the restaurant stuffed and very happy. I can't wait to return.

Fine Italian restaurant! My wife's mushroom pasta was the best she''s had anywhere. Recommended Gattinara wine was very good Nebbiolo.

Great location near Sea Pines Resort. Excellent Food. Excellent Service, reasonable price. We have been coming to HH for years and this is a top pick. It was recommended by a friend who tried it and boy was he right. It was fresh, hot, and and tasty.

Good, but not great. The salad (Insalata Savoiarda: Organic mixed baby greens, poached pears, gorgonzola cheese, carmelized walnuts tossed with a champagne vinaigrette) was a wonderful combination of flavors, but severely overdressed. I chose the Bistecca Chiantina: 12-ounce New York Strip served with gorgonzola cheese "fondute", forest mushrooms, pancetta, cipollini onions and whipped potatoes as my main dish. The description sounded wonderful, and the steak was cooked exactly to the medium rare I ordered. But it was encrusted with pepper, and not trimmed well - a LOT of fat. There was absolutely no gorgonzola sauce anywhere on the plate. The potatoes were far from whipped, more like chunky mashed. The green beans were extremely undercooked. I'm a huge fan of cipollini onions - there were pieces of cooked, very sweet onions on the plate - but none of those delightful squashed rounds that are cipollini ... The service was top notch, and the complimentary prosecco and amuse buche to start were a nice touch. I will give it another try, but will stay away from the steak.

We had a wonderful meal there during the busy Easter break week. 4 adults, 6 kids, and several vegans among us. Although vegan choices were not on the menu, they were able to provide several tasty options for us. We did call ahead to let them know that we'd be interested in vegan choices. Our server was very knowledgeable and provided great suggestions. When they didn't have the wine we wanted, she immediately returned with some excellent options. Overall, one of the best dining experiences we've had on Hilton Head. Highly recommend it. And new arcade/game room next door. All the kids went there while we had a leisurely (and yummy!)dessert. In spite of the location in a strip mall, they've done a nice job to make it a warm and quiet atmosphere.

Excellent, Northern Italian food, great service at a reasonable price. My wife and I had a three course dinner with champagne for $14.95 when we happened to come in at 5:30 and got the "Early Bird." Expect to pay about 40% more after six-thirty. New restaurant just outside the Sea Pines Gate in Park Plaza.

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

(4)Lyrad V.
(4)Daniel S.
Lobster bisque was amazing, so was the fig salad. The entrees felt like a bit of a step down afterwards though still pretty good (Ravioli/Chicken). Overall a very pleasant experience and really really great service. Will be back.
(4)Christine P.
(5)Lina K.
The service was pleasant, fast. The design and atmosphere was pleasant too. The appetizer was delicious. But main course was just ordinary not as I expected.
(4)Nora C.
Osso bucca was very good. Great service.
(5)Joan S.

(5)Eric M.
(5)Laura V.
Excellent experience from the complimentary champagne at the outset to the French pressed coffee at the end. Service was charming and attentive and the food divine. Extremely reasonable prices. Would definitely return!
(5)Henry B.
(1)Samantha D.
(3)Chris P.

We came here on a Saturday night at 8:50pm and they told us they had closed the kitchen because it was a slow night despite advertising that they were open until 10pm.
(1)Alison A.
Each dinner I have had at Trattoria Divina is better than the last.... chef Hugo is imaginative and creative, the staff is generous and friendly, and the portions are impressive. This restaurant exemplifies what a truly exceptional dining experience should be...a treat for the soul as well as the palate. LOVE IT!!
(5)Drew M.
We had a birthday dinner here and while there was a blip in service, they went out of their way to make it right. They got very busy and our appetizer got lost in the mix. They realized the error and rally went out of there way to make the rest of the meal outstanding. I would go back...
(4)Alex B.
Beet black grouper mushroom and lobster ravioli risotto. Everything was really top notch.
(5)Steve B.
(5)Julia W.
(5)Mark B.
(3)Preeti Y.
(5)Fernando F.
This our first time at Trattoria Divina for restaurant week. Wow. What a delightful meal. My family is from southern Italy and have never had the taste of northern Italy. The taste are such contrast to one an other but I was extremely pleased with the dinner and staff.
(5)Amanda U.
My Husband and I are in love with this place! Best food on the Island! The chief even made special arrangements to make me chicken parmesan! We were simply amazed and highly recommend this place!
(5)Daniel T.
(5)David H.
Great job.
(5)Allison Z.
(4)Erin O.
(2)Sondra K.
(5)Emily W.
We decided to try this and overall it was a pretty good experience. The service was absolutely fantastic, and the food was average. However, there was a lingering smell of cannibas throughout the restaurant prevented us from enjoying our experience. Furthermore, I do not think we will be going back.
(3)Greg O.
(4)Frank C.
(5)Emily W.
Service was spectacular! Complimentary prosecco and caprese salad. Our table was ready upon arrival. Garlic butter with bread was tasty! Everyone enjoyed their dishes--best bolognase I've ever had. Meat and fish dishes were well liked also! Definitely recommend!
(5)Parker L.
(5)Cheezwhiz R.
(2)Rachel R.
(3)Tom G.
Great food! Best Italian we have had in the island and I would highly recommend this find. In a plaza but a real gem and make sure you make reservations as they were packed!
(5)David S.
Absolutely wonderful dining experience. Dined here yesterday evening. We will dine here again on our next visit to the island.
(5)Craig S.
Good food, but expensive for early bird, which was not a special. We had a group for early bird and quite expensive and ha, the bartender changed us $7.50 ($8.10 house wine with tax) for my wife's wine, mine was only $5 with the meal. Not going back.
(2)Karen S.
(5)Gibble T.
Wine service bread all fine the main I ordered (spinach ravioli) was really underwhelming and watery. For the price paid compared to what you get at an equally prices Italian restaurant we were surprised. The other Maine ordered in my party were also not so amazing for the price. Sorry won't go back.
(1)Katherine P.
Service was great and the NY strip was something I could eat every night of my life! We were presented with a complimentary taste of Prosecco and fig with goat cheese which were both delicious and just added to the ambiance! Felt like I was back in Europe for an hour.

(5)Mark M.
Service was excellent no complaints. I thought the marinara sauce with meat was too sweet but I didn't say anything. My partner liked his seafood pasta. We didn't try the gelato because it was vanilla, chocolate and banana something. It was really dead for a Friday evening.

(5)Alyssa B.
Loved this place! What a pleasant dinner. The food was absolutely fantastic and the service was great. A cute place and great find on HHI.

Another great Italian restaurant on Hilton Head. Trattoria Divina is a bit more upscale than other restaurants. The decor is somewhat formal but very comfortable, Our meals were all exceptional. The service was very good. We will return.
(5)David W.

(5)T S.
Our group of nine enjoyed the environment, and excellent server and delicious meals of various types. Carbonara was the best of all.
(5)Amy K.

A very pleasant Italian restaurant. Salmon, lobster and meat ravioli were excellent. Friendly and attentive server. Nice wine selection and ambiance. Good value.
(4)Tracie S.
Amazing!! Fantastic food, flavor and service ! You must go.
(5)Myra H.

(5)Ray P.
(4)Roger I.
The very best. Service was just the right amount of attention but very helpful in recommendations. Food, marvelous and creative. Prices very fair. great atmosphere.
(5)Michael W.
(5)Fred H.
(3)Janice G.
A beautiful restaurant with fabulous food and professional staff. Highly recommend!

Lobster bisque was great. Pear salad excellent. Wonderful place to eat. Staff was so attentive to all our needs.
(5)Marion M.

(5)Wendy P.
We recently visited this restuarant on "date night". As locals we have a few favorite restuarants and this is by far the best place on the island. I almost don't want to tell anyone. I think we'll become regulars.
(5)Mary V.
We ate here on a previous visit to Hilton Head. The food and wine was amazing and the service was excellent. We will definitely visit here again!
(5)Foster M.

(5)Clemmie M.

(5)Chuck M.
