Nice place , however, they did not honor the check in promo of a free soufflé. We started with a classic Caesar salad which came in a parmesan bowl. My partner had a Brie crepe which was silky and delicious. I had the bistro steak and my partner had the mussels from the restaurant week menu. The steak was prepared excellently and the peppercorn sauce was a great addition. Mussels were excellent and both dishes came with skinny fries. My partner had the apple crepe for dessert which was a delicacy as well. Would recommend this place next time you're in town. Support your small business!

Love the place. Great food. Crepes and wine "yes!"
(5)Mara R.
Amazing onion soup and chicken cordon bleu. The escargot was also beautifully done. The service was attentive and friendly, and the chef even came out of the kitchen to check on how everyone was liking the food.

My husband and I stopped, after seeing this on Yelp. We had a wonderful, romantic lunch. We are already planning on returning soon. Lovely French Bistro. Highly recommend it.

What a wonderful little restaurant ! Tucked away in a small strip mall in Bluffton, this little restaurant was quite a find for us. The service was very attentive and accommodating. The menu highlights included delicious escargot and seafood crepe's as appetizers. The entree's were also outstanding. For dessert we ordered their delicious grand marnier souffle to share, but they accidentally made too many so we got one for free ! The free one tasted just a little bit better. Fabulous restaurant, we will definitely be back on our next visit to hilton head island.

Ask for Martha. You don't need a menu. She can recommend everything that you need. You will not be disappointed.

Stopped here on a beautiful May afternoon with an early reservation on the deck since we were traveling with doggy. The helpful cordiality of the staff made us feel immediately welcome. The meal and service was incredible. I ordered fillet of sole with lobster sauce, boiled potato and spring salad. It was an enjoyable but short wait and the meal was delicious, beautifully prepared and graciously served, even with water and a special treat for Fido. The desserts were hard to choose but I settled on the bread pudding with raspberry/vanilla sauce. A delightful ending and a happy memory. Can't wait to go here again!

Another great find in Bluffton! Located in Moss Creek Village shopping center, this authentic French restaurant has very attentive staff (ours was also French) and the owners stop by to welcome their guests. Breads and pastas and much more us all made by hand, and you can tell. We stopped for lunch. I had the linguini chicken and it was just tasty. Tender, juicy chicken and the pasta was full of flavor. Lots of vegetables, too. My daughter had the meatballs and pasta. My boyfriend had the omelette and said it was the best he's ever had. We also had a dish of ice cream and Claude added fresh Georgia strawberries and other toppings. We will return again and again!

Visited last night for the first time, after many years of discussion about Claude and Uli's. After all those years of discussion, we were NOT DISAPPOINTED! The atmosphere was quaint and lovely, the service was friendly but professional, and the food was delicious. Two in our party did the early diner special, which is featured all night on Tuesdays. It included a salad or soup, an entrée, and a dessert for 20 dollars. With a small upcharge, they had the steak feature entrée, which they adored, as well as one salad and one soup, cream caramel for one and soufflé for the other. My sister and I shared the seafood crepe to start, and it was delicious! Heavy enough to share as a starter without being too much, and we also noted that with a salad it would be a lovely dinner. After, she had the coq au vin, a special for the night (and one of my favorites!), which was equally wonderful, and I had the duck breast (another favorite...this restaurant was batting 1000 with me!), which was beautifully presented, perfectly cooked, and tasted delicious. She and I shared bread pudding with crème anglais. Our table split a bottle of the house blend Sauvignon Blanc, which was wonderful as well (crisp, dry, citrusy without being too acidic.) Overall, after years of debate about driving from our annual accommodations in South Forest Beach on Hilton Head, it is beyond fair to say I've been converted to a believer. If I wasn't leaving in four days, I'd think it'd be a fair estimate to say I would be back this year, but I can guarantee I'll be back next year!
(5)Deb M.
Wonderful meal. They were so accommodating ! Food was fabulous, you must order crab cakes, 96% crab Tuna sushi grade and melts in your mouth. We will return

We went to C&U's on our wedding anniversary on 9/14. Totally fantastic French cuisine. Seafood crepe was perfect as was veal Normandy. Atmosphere is a real bistro feel, Very comfy. And John - bartender, waiter - was the most professional server we've ever encountered. Very knowledgeable and friendly. It was so excellent we returned for dinner two days later and everything was just as perfect as our first visit. The BEST restaurant we've visited in our many years of visiting Hilton Head.
(5)Floyd S.
Absolutely great. I have been to HHI for many years and never been to the restaurant before until I read the Yelp reviews. I had to try it and I now regret missing this place on all my other visits. I will be back for sure. We were seated and waited on by Claude's daughter. She was very helpful. I started with a cream of mushroom soap while my wife has the onion soup. Both were fantastic. For the entree I had the wiener schnitzel and my wife the mussels. Both were amazing. Both were every bit as nice as I had in Europe. If there was any negative and it truely isn't I felt like a kid again during dinner becasue this was definitely an older crowd. It is located off island and almost everyone was a local. That proves to me it is good when I see mainly locals. As far as the age of the crowd, the younger crowd is missing out. I will be back again over and over.
(5)Adam S.
Great little French restaurant. The owner and chef comes out to meet the diners and welcomes them with old world European hospitality. Great Food is made with love and he understands.
(5)Victoria B.
Had hi hopes, but they were disappointed. Food sounded great but it was middle of the road French. They purport to be hi end French but are sadly understaffed. The waitress was running around like she worked at the Waffle House. The price seems very high for this level of service and quality. We paid over $100 for just two of us even with our Yelp coupon. First (and hopefully last time) that the Yelp reviews and star system were wrong.
(2)Aaron M.
Wow really good food. The staff was amazing. Feel free to try it all because you can't go wrong. Thanks for the great food and service!
(5)David S.
Claude and Uli's has the best food in or near Hilton Head. We've been coming to Hilton Head since 1988 and love to eat out at fine restaurants. This year we went just off the island to Claude & Uli's and had the best meal this trip and the best in years. If you want fabulous food at a great price in a charming place Claude & Uli's is the place.
(5)Gina H.
This is by far the best French restaurant. I had the sole with cognac lobster sauce which is to die for. My husband had the veal which was incredible. The owner stopped by the table to insure the food was to our liking. I will be going back for lunch
(5)A.B. R.
Claude & Uli's is a rather unassuming spot in a strip shopping center a mile or so across the HHI Bridge. The restaurant is quaint and personal. The menu is varied and carries something for every palate. This is a diamond in the rough. The owners and staff are true professionals in what they do. All appeared to take pride in being a part of this special restaurant. They're simply delightful. Claude is the Chef. Uli provides the hospitality and customer interfaces. The food was awesome. Everything from the bread to the salad to the main entrees and desserts exceeded expectations. You gotta try Claude & Uli's. It may be your best meal of the week.
(5)Chris S.
Was great we were seated right a way had lunch and had the french onion soup the escargot and a glass of wine. The staff was very attentive the food was quick and excellant
(5)Aaron S.
Great little place. The Chef / Owner came to the table and offered us food that wasn't listed on the menu in order to meet the needs of my pregnant wife. If you haven't tried this little spot your missing out. GREAT EUROPEAN FEEL AND SUPER FRIENDLY STAFF!!!

We just moved to Bluffton and were recommended to Udi's bistro. We are world travelers and know good cuisine - Udi's was superb!! Their French Onion soup was excellent - they had a wide and varied menu. The ambiance was warm, French and inviting. The service was delightful. Definitely try this bistro - you won't be disappointed!!
(5)Cheezwhiz R.
Service was quick and the cream of mushroom soup and chilled tomato both were very goos. We had the beef bourgogne was very good. The portion size was just right. The resturant was decorated with a french ambiance. The menu had many items to choose from and everyone should be able to find something they enjoy. In addition they had many special fish dishes. We had breadpudding and souffle both were good. With the service and the food I would them 5 stars. I will say the only negative is the bread just too ordinary...the good side is it was warm

Claude & Uli's is in a hidden strip mall in Moss-creek. If you are driving towards Hilton Head Island it is located on the left hand side just before the Bridge. I just went there for the first time with my Family after being here in the area for many years., This Restaurant rates five stars. The attention we got from the beginning till we walked out the door was superior. We started out with a few drinks at the bar. The first thing that came to my mind is I felt like I was in France or Germany. We were quickly seated to out table by the owners Daughter. Well it was great to see the pride that she took in representing her Mom and Dad, and of course the family restaurant. The French Onion Soup was out of this world and the best I have had in many years. I needed up having the Steak for my main course and it was perfect. We all tried the deserts!! They were amazing. I highly recommend this Restaurant. Having traveled all over the World I give this Restaurant Five Stars and I certainly will be returning in the near future. Super Customer Service, Very Clean and the food is amazing. I hope everyone in the Bluffton, Hilton Head and Beaufort area support this local Business.

Very tasty food with super nice people. Decently priced and actually good -- something quite hard to find in HH.
(5)Rachel B.
We had a great lunch here today. My husband's seafood crepe was delicious as was my crab cake sandwich. Portions were generous and the atmosphere was nice. Very good service too.
(5)LOIS B.
What a gem. As Anne O. said, it is sort of French meets Low country cuisine, although Uli is from Austria. Claude was not there the night we ate there. Everything was delicious, the people there were just delightful and that includes the other diners. We met some very interesting people. We even enjoyed dancing in the bar area ~ go figure. We stayed so long that Uli had locked us in. Just a wonderful experience.

Place is amazing. Never expected to find a place of this caliber or style in a strip mall. What's not to love about this restaurant? Hands on owner Claude (a true French chef) that makes amazing food. Uli makes for the other part of a great experience with a homie feel ambience, great service, and reasonable prices. We have been their at least half dozen times and have had a consistently great experience every time. Claude's skills are comparable to any top French restaurant you would find in NY or Vegas! Robuchon or Gagnaire you've got completion in Bluffton!

Absolutely awesome! I don't say that very often, along with my 16 year old step son and husband. We shopped late at the outlets while on vacation. They stayed open for us and the dinner was just delightful! Best dinner by far here in Hilton Head! Martha are server was great, and we even got to chat with Uli. Our food was great, Creoles, veal scallopini and the bread pudding was our favorites out if all of our meals. We may visit again before we leave. You have to try it!

Jocya was marvelous. Magnifique. My birthday in style and elegance. Jocya was there for every moment. Our wine glass was never empty she poured and kept us pleasantly engaged. What a great find.

I just LOVE this place! Whenever I come down to visit my family, we ALWAYS make a visit to Claude & Uli's. The atmosphere, people. and food are just AMAZING! Whenever we visit, our waiter is usually Aldo and he is very attentive and funny as well! HIGHLY recommend eating here!
(5)Randy S.
Love this place! It is a little fancy but not stuffy. The food is always served perfectly from very courteous waiters. I had a Cold Cucumber Dill Soup as appetizer (really light and just the right amount of dill without going overboard) and Veal Schnitzel with a lemon butter sauce that was to die for.
(5)Ashok P.
Been here every year for several years.Food is great, tasty sauces, every dish perfectly cooked. Delightful hosts.

What a hidden gem! I'd heard the name here and there for years but always assumed it was too pretentious. I traveled with a friend to Paris this summer and we were looking for a "French fix." We went on a Monday night, when you can get the early bird special all night. As the other reviews say, it is a great deal; for $15.95, you get a soup or salad, entree and dessert. We both got cold soups, one gazpacho and one cucumber dill, which were both super fresh and amazingly delicious. For an entree, I had the beef bourguignon. The size was just right and the flavors were spot on. My friend had the steak onglet, which was tender and cooked just right. The french fries left a little to be desired. For dessert, we opted for their signature Soufflé Grand Marnier with Chocolate Sauce and a chocolate mousse. Since many restaurants now seem to content to serve ready-made, frozen desserts, it was nice to have something homemade. Both were good, but didn't knock our socks off. We had to-die-for chocolate mousse in Paris, so their mousse had some stiff competition going in. The souffle was a unique item and had a great flavor (you could definitely taste the Grand Marnier), but I just wasn't bowled over by it. We were the youngest people in there by 40 years, which is a shame since the food was delicious and a great value. The service was very good. I didn't catch our server's name, who was Australian. He was attentive and had a good sense of humor. We definitely will return another Monday night!
(4)M W.
Excellent food and a fabulous staff. We came in on Christmas evening at 8 pm and everyone was so accommodating and friendly. The food was wonderful. The escargot and sole were delicious classical french dishes. We will return next time we come back to HHI.
(5)Neal M.
Well finally Yelp placed this wonderful restaurant in the correct category so newcomers can find it! We have stopped here, usually for our first and then last meals in Hilton Head on every visit to the Island since discovering it a few years ago. Have never been disappointed, always the best food we eat on each mini vacation (they are closed on Sunday so we have to go elsewhere then). We love their escargot, soak up every drop of buttery garlic sauce with that great crusty bread. Have enjoyed dinners and lunches, the portions and flavors are perfect, no matter what we've ordered, most times the specials. There is nothing pretentious about this place or staff, and considering the quality of the food, the prices are very fair. It is very easy to become a loyal repeat customer!
(5)Q V.
THIS PLACE IS AMAZING!!! First of all, the appetizers were full of flavor and cooked to perfection. We tried the seafood crepe and the escargots. The escargot sauce was heaven. The dishes got better as the night progressed. One of the entrees we ordered was a duck dish.
(5)William R.
Great atmosphere, better than average food (although not quite as good as what one associates with french cuisine) and a friendly staff. It's a nice change from Hilton Head. If I'm ever in the area again, I'll probably go back.
(5)Joe D.
The food here is the best you will get on the island and in Bluffton! The dining room clean and festive. The Bar has everything you want! The staff, very professional. But the owners!! Quite simply, the best!! They make you feel like you're their only customer! They know your drinks, your dietary needs and above all your name. You are their guests, and if you're at their restaurant, it's as if you're in their home. All the food here is great! The pate was fantastic! The escargot plump and full of garlic and butter! For entrees we had, salmon encroute with a seafood mousse, it was Devine the fish was still moist, the mousse creamy and smooth, and the brioche was perfectly cooked. The gigot d'agneau ( leg of lamb) cooked and served exactly as I had asked for. The house made bread! How on earth can somebody not want to just sit and eat their bread? Crusty and warm with lots of butter. This place is France at it's best!! Everybody should go there at least once.
(5)Linda G.
We always go to Claude and Uli's whenever we are on Hilton Head. I love the steak frite. The fish is always wonderful. We like to sit in the bar area. The staff is great.

We have been going to Hilton Head for 42 years ,we always stay a month. Therefore we know the good restaurants and the so many bad ones.Claude & Uli's we had procrastinated about going here for years but never did.Tonight we did ,what a revelation ,what a dismay that we had not eaten here before.First we tend to go to early bird because a month of eating off the regular menu tends to be expensive.Claude & Uli is just over the bridge leaving the island in Moss Creek Village on the right. The restaurant is lovely ,the waitresses and the hostess charming ,I had a good feeling about this place ,I was not disappointed. For $15.95 ,you had a choice soup or salad ,I had the cream of celery soup mmm.The entre(you had a choice of about 7 items) I had beef borgenoiuse(parden the spelling ,my wife veal scalopinni, both were outstanding so well prepared .The dessert was grand marnier soufle ,for an extra $1.95 was outstanding and I had had this in Paris which was not as good as here. There were about 6 desserts all very tempting .I now have put Claude & Uli on top of my list os the restaurants that I will revisit a few times .An outstanding value and fantastic food .If you read the menue book of most of the restaurants on here you will find outrageuos claims like the finest steak or the finest fish on the island most not true.Claude & Uli doesn't do that they let their food do the talking .Find your way here you wont be disappointed ,I can't wait to go back.
(5)Violet B.
Absolutely the best food I have ever eaten in the low country ranging from Charleston to Savannah. Claude & Uli are the owners and though I do not know them personally I have met them several times while eating here, I have also been waited on by their son. The whole family is extremely nice and only adds to the experience. The atmosphere is wonderful, the wait staff is kind and knowledgeable, and the food is amazing. I especially love to visit on my birthday which is Valentine 's Day and every year they offer a special menu for the occasion. My favorite appetizer is the heart shaped ravioli, and entrée the beef wellington. The desserts are equally amazing such as the Grand Marnier Soufflé. Do not miss out on this restaurant!!!

I had a Cold Cucumber Dill Soup as appetizer (really light and just the right amount of dill without going overboard) and Veal Schnitzel with a lemon butter sauce that was to die for.

Excellent food and a fabulous staff. We came in on Christmas evening at 8 pm and everyone was so accommodating and friendly. The food was wonderful. The escargot and sole were delicious classical french dishes. We will return next time we come back to HHI.

THIS PLACE IS AMAZING!!! First of all, the appetizers were full of flavor and cooked to perfection. We tried the seafood crepe and the escargots. The escargot sauce was heaven. The dishes got better as the night progressed. One of the entrees we ordered was a duck dish.

Great atmosphere, better than average food (although not quite as good as what one associates with french cuisine) and a friendly staff. It's a nice change from Hilton Head. If I'm ever in the area again, I'll probably go back.

My husband and I stopped, after seeing this on Yelp. We had a wonderful, romantic lunch. We are already planning on returning soon. Lovely French Bistro. Highly recommend it.

Great little French restaurant. The owner and chef comes out to meet the diners and welcomes them with old world European hospitality. Great Food is made with love and he understands.
