Dated menu and decor. Service is spotty, although the bartenders are usually pretty friendly. It seems like most of the menu comes frozen from a food service provider. This place could be great, but is definitely missing the mark lately.

Very good food and service. Muffin plate is a nice touch. The drinks at the table were constantly refilled. The veggie wrap was great. The chocolate dessert was very memorable. I heard the shrimp and grits we're excellent. The chicken Madeira was huge and appeared nice. Nicest spot in town.

I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. This was the first time visiting Hartsville, and some coworkers recommended this place. Food was pretty good. Had the crab bisque and tried out the shrimp and grits. The service was pretty good also. Waitress was very attentive and quick. Would recommend trying this placee out if you are in town.

Bizzells is my favorite place to stop for lunch on the way to the beach. My favorite dish is the Creole Tilapia. The service is always good. Jenni was my server today and she was fantastic.

I've had one lunch and one dinner here - both on business visits to the area. They also catered another lunch at the Robinson Nuclear Plant . Hartsville doesn't have a lot of choices, I suppose, so Bizzell's is probably not a bad one. But the food is somewhat bland, the service a bit slow and the preparation lacking. The space is nice. Beer selection is limited, but they had Fat Tire.

Decent food, however our Ahi Tuna steak was NOT medium rare as requested. But prices are decent for a metro area but probably pricy for the area. We couldn't find decent place to eat and ran into this place by accident. It was this place or Apple Bees, and we wanted to try local. No beers on Tap, tables are positioned weird, we sat next to the door and no real open dining area like a normal restaurant. the bar area seemed better but we were seated in the general dining area.

Good food but service charge on the bill Good food, good service. Abit on the pricey side but the food is good and the staff are friendly

Good food, reasonable price. I often use their drive thu window to pick up food for the family when my wife is too tired to cook.

I haven't eaten at Bizzell's in years, since I last worked for Sonoco, but I sure do miss this place. It was a favorite lunch spot of mine. Many of the sandwiches and salads are great, but nothing can top the chocolate cobbler at the end of a meal. I think that's what I miss the most.

Great mom and pop restaurant. Service was great and the food top notch. I highly recommend it if your in the area. Best bang for your buck.

I was there approximately a month ago. This was our first visit. The restaurant was busy. This was a Tuesday night. It took over an hour to get our food. When we asked the manager what was the issue she said that they were just busy and couldn't keep up. She offered no other excuse. She offered a dessert to each of us as compensation. Food as good. I will give them one more chance. Such a,disappointment.

Very good food and service. Muffin plate is a nice touch, unexpected suprise. Had the ribeye sandwich and the alligator tail appetizer. Would definitely recommend and will be back again when in town. Definitely a small town diamond in the rough!

Yummy shrimp and grits! And I've eaten a lot of shrimp and grits in my time. Nice casual atmosphere, cute decor, good service. Great for date night!

Everyone is so friendly here. Good place to meet friends for lunch, or a simple date night. There's something on the menu for everyone.

Okay local place, nothing fancy. The menu had a lot of choices which for a small town place I didn't expect. They are pretty close to the coast so they said their seafood is fresh. I wasn't going to be crazy and order it but it maybe an option for somebody else.

We're new to the area, and this is one of the best restaurants we have found. The food is good, prices are very reasonable, and service is adequate. I love their house salad dressing.

We have eaten at Bizzell's in the past and always had a good experience both with the food and the service. Last week, however, was not one of those times. The service was terrible - completely inattentive. I asked for extra napkins 3 times. As you read this it is important to understand that there were very few patrons in the restaurant. The food was poor quality, i.e. salad dressing was bitter, shells in the shrimp creole, creamy soup that was overcooked and separated. When we told the waitress, she got the manager who, as we explained the issues, stood there with a smirk on her face. There was NO apology, just her standing there as if we were wasting her time. I asked if perhaps there was a new chef, but that was not the case. Will we be back? I don't think so. What a shame for Hartsville that one of their restaurants treats customers in such an unwelcoming way.

The service we received from this restaurant was, in my opinion, the worst I've ever experienced. As a party of six on a busy night we anticipated service would be slower. It is customary to deliver a parties food at the same time. However, our party was served our meals in waves over the course of 90 minutes. Food had to be sent back twice as it was not as ordered. When our service experience was shared with management/ownership, I felt the owner was dismissive, discourteous and rude. Her response to a request for water, after going with no beverages for 30 minutes was "are you being ugly or nice". In my opinion, this was disrespectful and uncalled for and we were not the only table with issues with the owner's behavior. I will not visit this establishment again as there are other options in the area.

When I hear "food & spirits" in the south, I picture something like that front of a Southern Comfort bottle. This place is nothing like that image. Atmosphere / decor is somewhere out of the '80s. The menu has the everyday bar standards, some southern standards, e.g. shrimp & grits, gator, collard greens, and some sandwiches and proteins (tuna, steak, salmon, chicken, etc.) One of our party asked our waitress what she liked between the beef, chicken and seafood, and she told us that she "doesn't eat beef or chicken, and doesn't really like seafood, either." Thanks for the help and your honesty... We rolled the dice and went for a smattering of options. Nothing was standout. I wouldn't say anything was horrible, but it was definitely not a memorable meal by any stretch of the imagination. Mixed grill was edible, and they didn't murder the scallops, but the fish was grossly overcooked. A few got chicken and none were happy about the portion size or the flavors. If you're desperate and want to eat within stumbling distance of the only hotel in town, this is one of your only options. Just don't say I didn't warn ya.

Great food with reasonable prices. Restaurant itself is a little dated and could use some renovation but the atmosphere is great. Great place for a date, family dinner, or dinner with friends. And they have a drive thru for take out which is nice!
