Delicious home cooked food from the kindest people. They're always quick to bring you more to drink or a box. And on your first visit you get a free piece of cake (which is big enough to share with a few people)!

Sweet sassy mo-lassy...I've died and gone to cafeteria-style Southern food heaven. I cannot emphasize enough the deep, overwhelming joy that will warm your insides as you take in the Laurenda's experience, folks. It speaks of nostalgia and of the traditional sensibility that many things should be kept simple and unassuming so the important things can stand out and shine out their brilliance before the world. In this case, the brilliance of which I speak can be encapsulated into a single, four-letter notion - FOOD. The exterior of the building will not impress you. The tile floor and less-than-savvy decor will not impress you. The lunchline-style cafeteria approach, with its obligatory utilization of plastic trays and one-at-a-time service, will likely not impress you. But the food, my friends...the food is indeed a glorious thing. A good selection of meats greets you first, most of which are fried, all of which are very well prepared and seasoned. I've had flounder, fried steak, cube steak, chicken - each one drool-worthy in its own right. Then come the sides upon sides upon sides - highlights include very cheesy macaroni, mouth-watering collards, and a sweet potato casserole that would make your grandma swoon. Have some cake or nanner puddin for dessert if you're physically capable post pigout, cause they're pretty good too. You can even pick up something sweet on the house if it's your first time. Expect to wait in line a while if you show up after church or at lunch on Fridays, but just know that a real prize awaits you behind that serving line. It's no dazzling, uptown spectacle, but Laurenda's gives a beautiful nod to the movers and shakers of the working world by supplying food for the soul that is downright delicious.

This is not the type of place you want to go to every day unless getting very large is one of your New Year's resolutions. There is nothing cool about it. The food is great! The portions are great! The staff is great, helpful, laid back, and friendly (southern)! The price is right! It is an old fashion, southern meat and 3 and the menu is what your grandma made and pretty much taste just as good. OK, so it is cool without being hip! It is definitely an addition to the work lunch rotation. What I find surprising is how difficult it is becoming to find these joints. It is largely word of mouth and only then after you ask a number of acquaintances, "Hey, is there an original meat and 3 around here?" That is how I found it and the individual that told me of it was not sure of the name. I knew then that I had to try it and I was not disappointed. While searching for it, I Googled "meat and three Greer SC". This site popped up and is actually very useful, meatandthree.com/sc in case you, like I was, are Jonesing for one and, obviously, can get to SC. The short review is if you enjoy this style then GO! You will not be disappointed! BTW, their awesome, homemade desserts are free on your first visit. Five stars because I really enjoyed it and it still exist.

Went w some work friends for lunch a few weeks back. GREAT food, great portions for your dollar and friendly service! Left there wondering when we'd be back! Make sure you let them know if it's your first time there. They will make it memorable.

This was my first visit to Laurenda's and I found out you get a free dessert, I got the delicious banana pudding. The entire staff was friendly and the food was good. This is how a restaurant should be.

Food is excellent. Service is ok. Seems to be a lot of wasted space in this very popular restaurant.
