I had brunch here on a Saturday and thought it looked a little empty, and now I know why. The food was pretty bad, not to mention expensive for both the quality and quantity. The service is slow, laid back, and there are many servers just sitting around talking. The atmosphere seems to uppity, but it was just so dead for a Saturday afternoon. I went with the Crabcake benedict, and I was actually pretty pleased with the flavors, but everything else fell flat. The little cakes of potato or onion (?) were a nice base, but the thin disk did nothing to hold up to the creamy, heavy top. I thought I was going to be served a nice thick fried green tomato. The egg was done well, and the hollandaise was solid. Too bad I only had two silver dollar size portions for $12. To make it worse, the side to my $12 entree was terrible roast potatoes. The potatoes were cold, overcooked, soggy, mealy; quite possible the worst potatoes I have ever eaten at a sit-down restaurant. Ugh. I definitely do not recommend this place. Sorry, Greenvillians, but there are plenty more nice-casual places to have a brunch.

Another gem in Greenville! We were "stuck" in Greenville for another night - frankly, I'd get stuck in Greenville any day - and ventured downtown for some grub and brews on a patio. Naturally, I busted out the Yelp app which led us to Green Room. Greeted by our friendly server, we were informed that bottles of wine are half-off on Sundays. Yes, please! Given that this was our first time here, I always ask my server what the most popular dish is. What's Green Room's? The meatloaf! And what an amazing and hearty meatloaf it was! I was told people come here regularly just to get their fix. More on that in a second... Start with the ahi tacos for an appetizer. A light twist on the standard fish taco with fresh mango salsa/pico in a small, crispy rice shell. So good! One thing worth mentioning, that stood out more than the satisfying meatloaf, was the pineapple cream cheese and strawberry balsamic butter served with the fresh-baked bread. Oh, sure you could get your standard serving of bread and oil while you wait for you meal, but I don't think I've ever had such a unique condiment choice for my bread! Back to the meatloaf: Moist and hearty with a sweet finish. Totally hit the spot after a day of exploring downtown Greenville. A must-try, but it is quite filling so bring your appetite. An amazing meal for an equally amazing trip. Sidenote: While dinning on the patio we encounter rude, drunk idiots at the bar next door and a tranny with an oversized bunny. Not indicative of your time at Green Room but worth mentioning if you choose to sit outside. Actually made for great dinner conversation!

Only been here once. Fish tacos for my appetizers was great. Scallops for my main dish and that was awesome. The palenta with the scallops were only ok. It's a tad pricey but I'd go back. Staff was attentive, friendly and polite

Disappointing experience - When I walked up the hostess I think may have kind of glanced at me but whatever was happening on her phone was more important. She did follow in behind me and asked "table or bar" so I answered "bar". She then turned away without saying another word. I thought maybe she was getting me a menu but the "phone" apparently was calling her (pun intended). She noticed I was standing and when she glanced my way I asked if I can take any seat. So now I'm at the bar getting ignored (not in a rude way, just in an inexperienced way) - She did finally come over and ask if I'm doing "alright", again she was nice, just apparently clueless on how to tend bar. While waiting for dinner & during dinner she would stand in front of me and talk over my head to the guy behind me who I'm guessing is the manager? He was hovering just behind me watching the TV above the bar much of the time. Sorry for the long review but I don't know how else to be accurate. It really seemed like they just don't really have any experience in the restaurant industry and where winging it. If the food had been outstanding i would go back but it was only ok - shrimp & grits with frozen andouille sausage and instant grits -

Enjoyed Thanksgiving Dinner here. Like other places, TGR had a fixed (limited) menu for the holiday. The 3-course meal exceeded our expectations both in quality and quantity. By evening, the restaurant had exhausted all their brined, roasted turkey. Fortunately, the braised short ribs alternative was juicy and tender and very flavorful. The salmon (replacement for turkey) was similarly satisfying. The kids meals were the same selections and pretty much the same size as the adults, but our kids stuffed themselves because the entrees were that tasty. We were also impressed with the simple, but good desserts. Service and atmosphere were top notch. Highly advise a visit. 4-1/2+ stars.

Good lunch. The omelette was tasty and good-sized. The prices are a $1 or $2 over what an average lunch might cost, but the food's good. My Omelette was $9.00

Great for breakfast, great for dinner! Food is always well prepared and the service keeps an eye on you, but is not annoying ;) Short Rib Mini Tacos and TGR Meatloaf was great.

We made reservations online, and our table was ready as soon as we walked in. Fantastic, especially for a Friday evening. I tried the Blackened Scottish Salmon. It was very tasty, and was cooked just right. It was nicely blackened but not burnt. It was served over a bed of sweet caramelized onions and flavored grits, which made for an interesting combination of flavors. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very pleasant and it is in a great location on Main Street downtown. I plan on returning to try some of the other menu items.

Excellent way to experience downtown Greenville. Brick interior maintains the old-fashion authenticity of the true "mill" area. Food is delicious. Ask for Anne if you want the best service.

We were seated in the front window and had a delightful view of passersby on Main Street, Greenville. The truffle parmesan fries were recommended by the other customers so we ordered them as an appetizer. Hot, crisp, beyond delicious, they were fabulous! I ordered the fish sandwich with a side salad and my husband had the tuscan chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries. The sandwiches were large enough to share, on fresh cibatta bread, and perfectly prepared. My salad was large, garden fresh, and served with their own chipotle ranch dressing, really good. The sweet potato fries were the best we have ever had! We will be coming back here for lunch as soon as possible! This can be recommended for a fine dining experience!

Lunch here - sweet potato fries were amazing. Great service . Three lunch entrees were all excellent, including chicken curry and angus salad. Beer was cold and tasty. Much better atmosphere than the others we checked out nearby.

The bartender added a three dollar tip to the tab. I assume she felt I wouldnt tip.. The waiter was cool though. He brought us both menus to check out even though we were just having drinks... Didnt seem to have to.much of a mixed crowd... Didnt get the warm welcome I expect from most places

Love the food! Been back for dinner twice and for appetizers/desserts in the late evening. Loved the Ahi Tuna Mini Taco starter. Our last visit we tried the Short Rib Mini Tacos, delicious as well. I always get the Caprese Bruschetta to start with. Twice I've eatn the Ribeye with parmesan truffle fries. It's just so good I order it every time. My husband had the TRG Meatloal and loved it. I think it's my new favorite place to eat downtown!

We arrived on time for our reservation, and were seated. We then waited ten minutes to get our drink order, which was from a different waitress we flagged down. 10 minutes later we got our 1st drink and met our waitress. We ordered the grilled artichoke and mozzerella, but instead were brought artichoke dip. When we asked she said she would fix it, then she came back with the menu and pointed to the only other artichoke appetizer and asked if that is what we wanted, and said "I guess I don't know the menu very well, oops". Once we got our appetizer it was cold and I would not order again. I ordered the Duck and my wife ordered the Grilled pork chops. The pork chops tasted like propane and one of the two was pink.. My duck was just OK. Our waitress never came back to check on our food. We told her the prok chops were pink and terrible and she said "I'm sorry"

I have been to The Green Room twice. Once for drinks after work and with my wife for Valentines Day. The happy hour trip was fine. The Valentines Day wasn't what I had hoped. First off, the table we were reserved at was taken. Nothing the restaurant had any control over as it appeared that party had been there a while and wasn't leaving anytime soon. The only available table was crammed toward the back with other tables, VERY CLOSE TOGETHER. I could literally touch the tables on either side without leaning. This also meant that the server's butt was on your table while attending to your neighbor. Great. Secondly, when trying to enjoy a $150 meal, I don't want to have to flag down our server to get a new beer. Two or three times. One time my glass stayed empty for 15 minutes. Very annoying. Third, the food was ok. My wife had a ravioli she enjoyed, I had the NY Strip that frankly wasn't very good. Again, this is all on Valentines Day when all restaurants are slammed, and on a different Monday night everything might be 180 degrees, but like I said, there are plenty of other restaurants in town that $150 will get you waited on hand and foot AND a meal you won't forget.

I don't know if these people went t the same place I did. We went for Sunday brunch and the service was horrible. We decided to sit outside because the weather was wonderful but yet it seemed like we were forgotten and when we asked for the manager "he had stepped out". The fries were supposedly "truffle fries" but yet had no truffle oil on them. Really disappointed and not likely to go back.

The food is good, but their real talent is SERVICE!! I was in GV for a few weeks and I stopped in TGR most nights for a drink or drink and food. Bartenders make it a point of pride to know your name and what you like. Generous POUR on the bourbon gets 10 stars!! Good selection on whiskey too--not just the standard bar brands (yawn). Classy but affordable on per diem. CHEERS!!!

Huge portions, decent grits, it's more of a pub kind of breakfast and of great value! I stop in early on a Saturday morning and there's a small group of people already, meeting to watch a European soccer (or futbol, I guess) match on TV. I sit at the bar to join them- and find that the 2 people sitting next to me are Northerners from Massachusetts, just like me! They chat about how they need to try grits but are a bit apprehensive...coincidentally, grits was one of my sides with my omelet so I let them try...definitely a Southern experience!

My husband and I visited the green room Friday evening around 8pm. We chose to sit at the bar and we each ordered a salad. The bartenders were nice, but not really on top of things (alcohol came quickly, but I waited 20 minutes for my water). The owner or manager stood beside the bar drinking wine, not at all concerned with the long wait times. 45 minutes after we ordered our salads, we left, without ever receiving our meals. We will not be back.

A culinary delight! Love the dark tones of the room, attentive staff, and extensive menu. The chef sounds like a creative sort, and that makes things exciting for diners like me. Had the duck, which included a generous cut of loin as well as a breast. Both were prepare perfectly, and not overly greasy. Accompaniments included rice pilaf and spinach, both were also well done. This place is a gem, I hope to return someday!

We stopped for a bite to eat on Father's day. Despite not having reservations, we were seated fairly quickly. We sat at an outside table, and even though it was a bright (warm) sunny day, the table umbrella was both thick and wide enough to provide complete protection throughout our meal. I had the farmhouse burger with the Parmesan truffle fries. My husband ordered the black and bleu burger, and my son had chicken fingers with fries. Both my husband and myself were amazed that no condiments were required. The burgers were perfectly cooked and super juicy. My son enjoyed his chicken fingers. They were nicely sized; enough to fill his tummy. Service was a bit slow, but I'm not going to hold it against them, as it was Father's day, and they had three call-off's that day. The waiter was super nice and made sure our drinks were refilled in a timely manner. I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant if you're in the area and want to try something new!
Great place to eat for brunch! Great atmosphere, service, and staff. Always busy for brunch so make a reservation to ensure seating indoor or out.

The Green Room is a great place for brunch or dinner date. The food was delicious, I had the TGR Lunch Combo: cup of chicken soup and half of the BLT, my boyfriend had the French Dip sandwich. Needless to say, both dishes were devoured in a second, yep, they were delicious! We wouldn't probably eat there every day since it is a bit pricey but, food and friendly staff makes it a must stop if you ever visit Grenville.

Went for Sunday brunch at 10:30, not too crowded yet and they were able to seat us despite our preferred tables being reserved. While my friends enjoyed a veggie sandwich and their overeasy eggs in the Green Room breakfast I was completely disgusted by the rubbery texture of my omelet--seriously, who makes omelets like that and how? It was like a thick tasteless yellow plastic folded over feta and tomatoes which I picked out and ate w my grits (pretty good grits for a restaurant).

I went to Green Room with a huge group for a Saturday brunch. We were all in town for a wedding, and needed a place to eat that was a) within walking distance of our hotel, b) able to seat a party of ten, and c) preferably not disgusting. The Green Room ended up being a great choice. We got a table that fit all our food and bodies, and the meal was pretty good. The place was cute and comfortable, and we were all able to relax and catch up as we ate. Service was slightly awkward, but I think our large party size had something to do with that. There was a full bar, and I got my day started with a nice bloody mary. It was thick and spicy, and it cost a very reasonable $7. It had no garnish, even though I saw others around the dining room with olives. Maybe I had to ask, or maybe our waitress hated our table. The food was solid. I ordered the Indian chicken salad sandwich with a side of shoestring fries. The sandwich cost $8 and the fries were included--I don't know if this is cheap for Greenville, but I thought it was a great deal. The fries were just okay, but I really liked the sandwich. The curried chicken salad was full of flavor, and hunks of walnut and raisin added nice textural contrast to the tender chicken. The chicken salad came on golden raisin bread with mango chutney, and the raisins and chutney added some pleasant sweetness to the sandwich. I ate half for brunch and saved the second half for my hangover the next day--it went down pretty easy both times. My husband got the French toast, made with fresh baguettes and served with cinnamon whipped cream, strawberries, bacon, and maple syrup. It was a tasty French toast. I could see myself being a regular at the Green Room if I lived in Greenville, and would recommend it to anyone in search of a decent meal. The food is good, and it comes without hassle. My friends and I had a lovely time.

While visiting Downtown Greenville we found this place while walking and saw the menu and thought, why not. Overall the food was awesome! However, our waiter was not very attentive. It took forever to get our drinks and what little we asked for, he took his time to get. I hope he was just having a bad day, because I hope to return to this place. However, the food was amazing! I got a French Dip and She Crab soup. Both of which were awesome. My friend got a burger and said it was delicious. I had some of parmesan truffle fries that came with it and they were great!

Loved the atmosphere right away:) we got the bruschetta as an app and it was fresh and delicious! Then both our meals were great!! Prices are good for what you get though and we had a great time. Make a reservation even during the week bc it for crowded quickly. Also great wine selection but pricey .

A wonderfully delicious, trendy, classy establishment. Came with a group of coworkers and was impressed with the variety of food and the excellent customer service. Beer They have a nice selection of craft beers. Per the waiters suggestion I ordered a Pecan Beer which was lightly sweet and flavored of Pecan. Appetizer It was my first time to eat Fried Green Tomatoes. Wow they were F'n Delicious. Crunchy outside and moist soft inside. There was a cheesy onion like spread on top with a little cranberry. Its a Must try! The Beef Nacho were savory as well Salad, GET THE GREEN ROOM SALAD.. very tasty. Spring mix greens, Candy walnuts, fresh crisp apples and tasty zesty dressing. Meal: The pork chop mean with a huge tater tot infused with crab. The pork chop was cooked well, moist and savory - however a little thin. I like a THICK pork chop and was a little disappointment by the size. The tot was pretty good but needed some sauce on top. Perhaps something like a creamy garlic sauce. You'll be happy you came here. Slightly pricey Comment The green room is very dim inside. Great for a romantic dinner or with close friends, maybe a little too dim for dinner with coworkers as I was with.

Arrived about 2:45 on a beautiful Sunday. The crowd was light but it looked as though there has been a big lunch. The hostess was nowhere in sight and the wait staff seemed preoccupied with their own tables. After 5 minutes or so, we asked the bartender if the restaurant was open. "Yes", she said, "The hostess will seat you." After a few more minutes, we observed a young lady come out of the restroom and proceed to start sweeping the floor. As she swept, a man who seemed to be more or less in charge told her to, "Watch the host stand." Mind you, he appeared to be watching it himself but wasn't particularly concerned that its primary function - a portal for guest seating - was being ignored. Long story short, though, we finally got seated and the food was mediocre.

The food is just ok, but the 45 minute wait to get it in a half empty restaurant was ridiculous. Of course when my daughter had a bug crawl out of the chicken salad, we all lost our appetite.

Nice little restaurant pub serving great food. My father in law brought us here for a quick lunch! I dug that they had Quest a local beer on tap! It was hoppy and wonderful! I ordered the house salad, with house dressing, It was large and in charge! And a perfect size for lunch! Filling but not so huge that your dragging the rest of the day! We sat at the bar and the bar tender kept our waters full and took care of us well! Nice spot with indoor and outdoor seating and I very much enjoyed my lunch!

I love Restaurant Week, because it gets me to try places that, for whatever reason, I haven't quite made it to yet. This time was The Green Room. Everything about our meal was enjoyable. From the outside, the restaurant looks small and like it will feel crowded. However they have done a great job at making booths roomy and putting tables far enough apart that it's a very comfortable. The staff is all attentive and friendly, even on what was a very busy night. Everything on the Restaurant Week menu was very good. Steaks were cooked perfectly, as was the chicken. The sides complemented the entrees perfectly. There was nothing that was particularly unique about the meal, but sometimes a perfectly done, simple meal hits the spot, and so it was at The Green Room. The one thing I would suggest would be to offer a splash of sherry on the she crab soup (and be a little more careful about the shell bits in the soup). A relaxed enjoyable place to spend time with good friends.

We had high hopes after seeing favorable reviews and having found several favorites on the menu. Wrong! Our server was a Space Cadet that couldn't remember what our drinks were even though he only had two tables totaling six people. Our salads were kinda wilted and had very little dressing. Couldn't find waiter to get more dressing or ask for another salad. The Crab Cakes had very little crab in them and were basically hush puppies shaped like hockey pucks. Fried as hard as a hockey puck to boot! The $32 Lamb Chops were tasty but were the smallest Lamb Chops I've ever seen. Overall, it was not a happy experience especially since we spent well over $100 not including tip.

Had an amazing brunch here last Saturday. We were a large group and the place was packed and the staff was incredibly accommodating. We waited at the bar for our table and the bartender made us a bunch of their special bloody Mary's. Their house recipe for these is incredible!! The service all around was impressive and everyone really showed that Southern hospitality. They serve THE best fried green tomatoes I've ever had! The French toast is perfect and the portions are large. Fantastic grits and Benedict.

Saturday lunch around noon. Started with the fried green tomatoes - very different from others we've had. Worth a try Split a bowl of Parmesan fries - huge serving. Very tasty Cauliflower and Gorgonzola cheese soup was smooth and creamy with a little tang. Cuban sandwhich was ok - nothing special but not bad. Service was efficient Due to the open layout it was a little noisy They serve breakfast all day on weekends Come early - by 12:05 there was a wait

During my first visit to Greenville, TGR seemed to emerge as a town favorite. After having breakfast there this morning, I can't really figure out why. I had The Green Room Breakfast and my boyfriend had Crab Benedict. He actually liked the Crab Benedict and I can attest to the crab cake being tasty. However, his side of house potatoes tasted like cardboard. His Bloody Mary was decent, but the mix didn't taste fresh or house made. My peach Bellini was good, but the green room breakfast was just okay. The grits were pretty good, but cheese probably would've made them better. The "applewood bacon" looked exactly like the mass-produced bacon we'd passed up at our hotel. When I read "applewood bacon" I envision a thicker quality cut of bacon, but that's not what I received. The eggs were just plain old eggs. I would like to come back and try the She Crab soup, but I don't know that I look forward to trying much else.

Decided to pass on Sunday breakfast in the hotel restaurant & opted out of the java-shop standard fare to walk Main Street northward looking for a real breakfast. Crossed from Joel's Java to the across-Main other java that appeared to have even less to choose from & moved north. After a couple of blocks we passed an open door of what might or might not be an open restaurant... it had good breakfast aromas emanating to the street. Sure enough, open and ready to serve... so we went into The Green Room. A divey, quaint, dim, definitely good-hangout looking place! Our waiter was prompt in getting our drink orders to us as we looked over the menu... my wife selected TGR breakfast... scrambled eggs(2), bacon strips (2), grits, and rye toast. It looked very good when served... I could have enjoyed such a breakfast WITH ONE MORE slice of bacon at the very least. However, I decided on the classic benedict (having been disappointed elsewhere the night before I evaded crab cakes, maybe another time). My choice when presented was worth reflecting on. The grits were in small square shallow dishes to match the square plate shape. Nice touch... IMO grits are a "SOCIABLE FOOD" so typically I RELEASE THEM to mingle with their friends on my plate wherever I encounter them segregated. BUT those little square dishes were just too cute... and I had no spoon. So this time I used my fork to reunite some of the grits with each bite of my classic benedict. The grits were A CUT ABOVE typical grits served universally... must have been coarse-ground full-grain cooked to perfection! Creamy, tasty, but with a slight "chew" much akin to steel-cut oats. The benedict was on thinner than typical English muffin halves with tasty rounds of Canadian bacon. The poached eggs were PERFECTLY cooked. And the Hollandaise... THE HOLLANDAISE... as GOOD AS I've EVER HAD... ANYWHERE! Great bold flavor... very bright with just the touch of lemon needed to please and excite taste buds. ALL & ALL... an excellent CLASSIC BENEDICT that will get me back for a crab-cake benedict encore someday.

Visiting Greenville for the weekend and decided to try The Green Room for breakfast. The ONLY reason they get two stars is because the food was delicious. Over an hour wait for breakfast when the Resturant was not that busy is unacceptable. Not to mention the order being incorrect when it arrived. Poor customer service and one excuse after another. If you are visiting and don't mind the confusion and incorrect order give it a try. The food was actually good, but poor service will keep us from coming back on our next visit.

The food itself is OK if you are looking for a decent brunch, albeit heavy, but overall the service left me stumped. One person in our group ordered a 3 item combo, and only received 2 of the items. I had ordered the breakfast -- which on the menu clearly states you get two eggs, bacon, and a choice of grits or potatoes. I only received my eggs and bacon (when I asked for sausage they still gave me bacon). I asked a waitress about the last side and she said that the meal only came with eggs and one side. She said she would go make sure our table's waitress would look into it. Never did we receive a follow up on it and the menu did in fact say 3 items. The breakfast meal by the way was standard, but be forewarned that everything is really heavily buttered, including the toast. The tomato based chicken soup itself was good, as was the crab cake appetizer--though I had a bite of shell. However, the mistakes left me pretty disappointed with a meal that should have been easy. Even when we received our checks, we didn't even get a pen. If everything else is booked in the area, this place is serviceable, but expect some mistakes.

With so many choices in Greenville, we felt fortunate to have picked the Green Room. We sat outside and were able to enjoy the live music on a Thursday night. I ordered the stuffed pork chop which was stuffed with chorizo sausage and cheese and topped with a red sauce. Excellent! Grilled asparagus and fried smashed potatoes were the sides and were tasty. Food came out piping hot which is a plus for me and also service was excellent. My cousin had the Scottish Salmon with garlic mashed potatoes and mixed veges and was equally as pleased with her meal. Fresh, hot rolls with several butters and olive oil were also part of the meal and were a nice start. Would definitely return.

This place consistently serves great food. The bar is great if you can find a spot. The truffle fries are the best I have ever had. You cannot go wrong with the steak or seafood. Tuna tacos are great to start with.

The atmosphere is nice and service was friendly. I had the swordfish which was ok. It wasn't overly cooked or overly seasoned but was probably frozen not fresh. My palette did not like either soups offered, the lamb or Gorgonzola Cauliflower. If I come here again it would be because I was incredibly board with all the other favorable restaurants downtown.

Came here on a weekend for brunch. Bf and I got shared everything and were so stuffed. Coming from Cali I didn't know if this was typical in the South, but the portions were huge. CRAB CAKES- Good but nothing spectacular (however I'm not a huge fan of crab cakes in general). Nicely complemented by cilantro lime sauce and red pepper jelly. Taller than they were wide (almost an egg-shape) which I didn't expect. 3 per order. PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND MUSSELS- Ginormous portion. I seriously have never seen such a generous serving of mussels, and even guests at the next table were staring and pointing! The mussels tasted sweet and fresh, and the basil white wine broth was to die for. I didn't really care for the pesto toast points since they tasted kind of stale and the pesto was actually below average. SOUTHWEST BURGER WITH SWEET POTATO FRIES- I actually didn't try the burger since by this point I was just SO full but bf said it was good. The setting was nice, with hardwood floors, brick walls with original oil paintings, and cozy black leather booths. However, the music was REALLY loud (I actually had to strain to hear), and with the large flat screen TVs tuned into sports games in front of the bar, I felt this setting was more appropriate for dinner and drinks than for an intimate, low-key brunch.

4 stars for breakfast all day. We stopped in for lunch but wound up getting brunch. I had the eggs benedict (I try this everywhere I go) and the eggs were perfect but the sauce was a bit on the bland side. My colleague had a regular breakfast with eggs and they made them exactly how he liked them. I had the grits and I'm not picky about them because every single person makes them differently, and every person swears that THEIR way is the right way. With that said, I kind of liked the drier version of the grits, it was like eating a dense pudding. I guess some folks really don't like that, so don't order them if you don't like them that way. Overall, it was a nice indoor space with A/C and nice folks.

This place has a quaint atmosphere with a small town restaurant feel. Get there at the right time and you are seated immediately. Very nice staff, friendly smiles and very quick and accurate service. The food was amazing, spinach artichoke dip is a must have! My group was very disappointed in the portion sizes of the appetizers excluding the spinach artichoke dip. The pork and tuna tacos are about the size of one small spoonful. So small in fact, we thought it was a joke. Also, the bar was out of several types of liquor, THE cardinal sin for a bar on a Saturday night in an upscale downtown restaurant. Once again, I am disappointed in downtown Greenville on a cost/value offering. 4 drinks, 3 appetizers - $80..! Prices would have been fine if it were not for very small mediocre portion sizes.

Well, I'm all about consistency and The Green Room just can't make it happen each time. My visits are either really really good or I leave disappointed. This time I left feeling unloved and appreciated. We had a party of 5 and wanted to sit at one of the three empty tables on the sidewalk. We were told right away that those tables had a two hour wait! Really? For who? We're paying customers, right in front of you and we can't have "one" of the tables outside?!? If it weren't for my father in law being with us, we'd left. None the less, the hostess escorted us to our lovely table inside, right in the middle of the aisle, the last table before you enter the kitchen. Perfect, we'll catch all the kitchen traffic! Still trying to stay in a positive state of mine. One thing I do like about TGR is that you can order breakfast all day! Our waiter, Eric quickly approached our table (feeling good about Eric!) and took our drink order. You know sometimes the service can make your experience the best ever, even with hiccups, a good server can turn your experience around. So a lot is riding on Eric at this point. Our drinks were quickly served and we ordered. I ordered The Green Room Breakfast. Two eggs, golden raisin toast, extra crispy bacon and home potatoes! Oh, and a cup of java! I can hardly wait. Not long after we ordered our meals arrived. Anxiously awaiting my breakfast, soon my entree was sitting in front of me. Wimpy bacon, burnt white toast and an empty cup of java. Not a happier camper. Eric immediately recognized the wimpy bacon and said he'd get me crispy bacon. Not sure why he didn't notice that before serving me but at least he noticed. He shuffled away so quickly that I didn't have time to tell him that my toast was not golden raisin but burnt white toast. Could he not see that? Soon, the hot crispy bacon arrived and I informed Eric about my toast. Keep in mind, my java has yet to be refilled.....and yes, it's sitting right in front of me. You'd think he notice right?!? Everyone else was happy with their entree and having a good time. Shortly, Eric returned with my golden raisin toast! Still no java. Good thing I had H2O! Well, ends up Eric dropped the ball. Only one cup of java for me. sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. We may return one day but we're not in a hurry. Come on Green Room ~ why'd you leave me java-less?

Out of my preferred wine, no biggie as the bartender made a suggestion. Out of calamari, bummed. 2 for 2. Food was excellent as always (ribeye and pork chop...fries are divine). Seemed to be a bit understaffed. Service extremely slow and somewhat awkward. Combined with being out of the first 2 things I ordered and no apology, bad date night. Disappointed, but will return.

Three days before arriving, I had made a reservation for 5 PM for my wife and I to have a little early supper before a 6:30 PM show at the Peace Center a few blocks away. I thought that would be more than enough time to have a leisurely dinner and still make the show. We arrived at 4:59 and were immediately seated at a nice big booth, but we were not addressed by a server until around 5:10. By that time we had decided on our entire meal of only two entrees, a soda, and a sweet tea; which the server took and disappeared to return with our beverages 5 minutes later. He informed us that the kitchen was "switching over from lunch service" and he would put our orders in "as soon as possible". We informed him that it would be fine as long as we could get to our show at 6:30. It was true that the small restaurant was packed with people, who were apparently just then getting their orders of sandwiches and fries. Was this lunch service? Did people visit this small place to order lunch at 4:30 PM on a Sunday? How could I know. Greenville is at least 45 minutes away from my home in Asheville, and people do things differently in South Carolina. Apparently the sandwich people were more shrewd than I, and wise to the ways of the Green Room. 30 minutes later, bread and butter arrived at the table. This was nice, and we only had to wait 5 more minutes to catch the waiter and request flatware to butter the bread with. Bread plates never came, but that's ok. My classy wife and I had fun drawing in the crumbs on the table. 20 minutes later, our drinks were refreshed and the waiter asked if we wanted more bread. We informed him that we did not need more bread, but some assurance that our food would be along soon would be nice, informing him that we were beginning to get concerned about making our 6:30 show. We were told again about the "switching over" situation, and the server's appearance approached something near to mild unease. He then left for another 10 minutes. To his credit, I observed him hovering near the window to the kitchen more than once, before disappearing entirely into the back. At 6:00, an hour after arriving at the restaurant and 50 minutes after ordering our food, neither the food nor the waiter were anywhere to be seen. Disgruntled people, obviously in the same situation as ourselves, who had their food arrive only to be wolfed down in order to make the show, were leaving with frowns on their faces. At 6:15, we decided to cut our losses and leave. Judging that since it was probably not the server's fault, and that he had almost begun to care about the situation, we left cash and tip for the drinks on the table, informed the bartender of how truly sorry we were for not being able to stay longer than an hour to wait for our food, and walked to the cupcake shop next door for a quick snack to make it through the show on. Thanks Chocolate Moose! The show was excellent and fun, and the Trappe Door did a wonderful job of serving us a delicious dinner afterwards late on a Sunday night, but the Green Room had tinged date night in Greenville with a bit of a sour taste. I still wonder what they were doing in the kitchen that took so long for them to switch over from lunch to dinner. Is it populated with talented but mischievous sandwich elves, which have to be removed from the premises every evening in various complex and hilarious ways? Are the artichokes hand delivered every evening by an artichoke farmer flown in from California who's plane was somehow delayed by the admittedly unseasonable weather in central Illinois? And why do they take dinner reservations for 5:00 PM, when they know, and the sandwich elves know, that diner isn't truly served until 6:30 PM? The Green Room is an enigma that may forever haunt me, since, as comfortable as their booths are, I have no intention of waiting that long for a meal again unless royalty, or a mid-level cabinet member are involved.

We went there for Sunday brunch, had high hopes from seeing people's meals as we walked in. That slowly fizzled away. The service was quite poor, we didn't get silverware for quite some time, then our server maybe came by 3 times during the Lil over an hour we were there. Food was ok, I got a steak salad with half bad lettuce and the steak seemed like it was a bit old too. I think the best part was the truffle fries I scrounged off my girlfriends plate. Her food wasn't anything to really write home about either. Maybe we'll try again...

I have been here twice, with one good and one less-than-stellar experience. After the last one, I am not sure if I would come here again if I was pressured to get back to work from lunch. One of my favorite things about coming to the Green Room at lunch is that you can order lunch or have brunch even on a weekday. I am a huge fan of ordering breakfast foods at lunch, so I love that you can get them here. The first time I came I had their french toast, which came with a side of bacon. It was delicious, with plenty of cinnamon and decent-sized portions. It was a little on the expensive side but quite tasty. The bacon was a little smoky and wonderful as well. On the second trip, I went for the Green Room breakfast, with potatoes and rye toast. Sadly, my rye toast was the highlight of the meal. It was perfectly buttery and the bread had a unique flavor - maybe extra caraway seeds or something? The potatoes were very bland (even served with onions and red peppers, not much flavor there) and not crispy enough for me. A little bit of salt would have gone a long way. The bacon was not at all crispy this time, which made me sad. The first time, service wasn't quick but it was not slow either. The second time, we waited over 30 minutes at lunch time for our food, and that was also after waiting more than 10 minutes for our waiter. I ended up getting back late from lunch, which is really frustrating. We arrived on a Friday right around noon and it was not overly busy. I am still not sure what the problem was. On a more positive note, my friend gets the Cauliflower and Gorgonzola soup every time and swears that she has never had anything so delicious. I will have to try it next time. Overall, the food is pretty decent, but be mindful if you are on a time crunch at lunch.

As new Greenville residents, we're on the lookout for a good breakfast joint. Unfortunately, our search continues after visiting The Green Room. We made a reservation through Open Table since we figured they might be busy on a Sunday morning. That wasn't the case, but it's still nice to accumulate the Open Table points and ensure a seat. When we arrived, there were plenty of open seats. I told the hostess that we had a reservation though it didn't appear we needed it. She was extremely rude and snotty - perhaps I offended her? Our server was average. He might have been a bit more personable. The food was cold, as if it had been plated and then sat for ten minutes. Once the meal was complete, I find out that the hostess didn't check us in with the Open Table reservation - no points and it looks like we "no-showed". We'll let the less than decent hostess shoulder 75 percent of the blame for this poor rating. If you don't like people, don't work in a restaurant. Not planning on a return trip to The Green Room.

I had brunch here the other day, and first of all I will commend the atmosphere- they've done a good job with the exposed bricks as well as the music selection. I ordered French toast and it took around 45 minutes to arrive. The restaurant wasn't even that packed. The serving size was relatively small and my meal was on the colder side. You could tell it had been sitting for a while. Check took another 45 to come. I came at 11am for a brunch and it was 1 by the time I could leave. Decent place, but nothing I'd go out of my way for

Today we decided to have brunch downtown. When we arrived at the green room, there were several open tables, but they would not seat us. The host and the hostess exchanged words about whether they could seat us immediately before trailing off into whispers and announcing they would call us when they had something. We went to a local coffee shop, which was amazing and then received the call that our food was ready. We walked back and were seated promptly. Five minutes passed, no sign of our waiter. Ten minutes passed, the hostess approached and asked if we had been seen yet. We informed her that we had not. She disappeared into the back and came back out to her hostess stand. Another ten minutes passed before our waiter approached. I would review the food, but who cares,? If you wait thirty minutes to be seated and twenty before you see your waiter, you aren't going to care about the food either. With so many great places in greenville to eat, why settle for subpar service? We won't be back.

Another great night at The Green Room. The patrons were beautiful, the service superb but what I really want to gush on is the food, especially the crab-cakes. Wow! If you are a fan of the crab cake, I have found the best in Greenville - The Green Room!

I love this restaurant! I've never had a bad meal here. I've tried the meatloaf, the salad with steak, the burgers, the pasta, the seafood, everything is delicious here. I love the atmosphere too!

Brunch...oh my. Generous portions- the fruit bowl is enough for 3 or 4 people! The french toast is perfectly crispy but gooey at the same time. The staff is super organized and polite and they will call you on your cell if there's a waitlist, which for us there was. This gave us time to meander down Main St for awhile without having to just sit around. Perfection.

My husband and I have enjoyed The. Green Room on a few occasions, mostly "date night" in Greenville. We have never left disappointed! The food here has always been excellent! The only downside would be that the service is rather slow, so if you're heading to a show or concert, plan on arriving early! This place gets a little crowded too, so I would recommend making reservations. We will definitely continue to visit this place as long as the menu keeps up! :)

Best burgers in Greenville! Plus their truffle fries truly seal the deal. My first encounter with the Green Room was for dinner where I had a mushroom risotto which was the special....ehhhh. So I avoided going back for about 6 months until I was told about the burgers. I ordered the Southwest burger, truffle fries, and a salad (which I shared :)) and loved every bite! Now I go back every few month when in jones ing for that top of the line burger! One strange side note. I had 4 friends in town for my wedding and when we asked to sit outside the last time we were told it's a city ordinance not to have more than 4 people eating outside at one table...somehow that doesn't sound right to me when I surely sat outside at the old Greek/Italian place now called Yap with a party of 6 about a year prior.

When we discovered that the wait time at Tupelo Honey was going to be about 45 minutes, we walked up the street a bit to find The Green Room. We had read great reviews on Yelp and decided to give it a try. We went Sunday around 10:30am so it was brunch. Not an extensive menu, but enough choices. I had the Classic Eggs Benedict and they were perfectly prepared and delicious! Brandon had the Breakfast Sandwich, which he raved about. The coffee is local (Yay local supporters!), and the environment is very comfortable. The service didn't take long and everything was nice and hot when it arrived. I will recommend this place to friends, for sure. My only complaints: the hostess, who was standing at the hostess stand when we walked in, let us just stand there for a hot minute. She didn't really greet us, or try to take us to a table until I asked if we needed to seat ourselves, ya know, because we were just standing there. And the server, who was incredibly nice and did his job well didn't come back and check on us until we were finished. As a server myself, this kind of irked me, but then I happened to think that he probably watched us from afar as we stuffed our face and figured that we must have been enjoying it. But still, it's nice to be checked on just to make sure. Just sayin'.

Our party of ten was seated immediately when we arrived, despite being about 15 minutes early for our 8:30 reservation. Great cocktail and wine list to look over while the waiter brought us water. We ordered a round and appetizers. The mozzarella and artichoke was delicious and enough for the whole table to taste. The mini short rib tacos looked great but were gone before I could get a bite! Everyone was very happy with their entrees and the server was attentive to our table. I ordered the pork chops which were delicious, as were the sides of mashed sweet potatoes and carrots. We heard rave reviews of the parmesan truffle french fries so we ordered a plate for the table to share (they also come has a side to the ribeye) - they were thin, crispy, and perfectly seasoned! We were given plenty time to eat and socialize without feeling rushed, which was great as we were all in from different parts of the country for Clemson graduation. We skipped dessert and after-dinner drinks because we were all full. Entree sizes were large so a few had leftovers. Downtown Greenville looked like a lot of fun too - with a drag of bars and restaurants. Ample parking in a lot within walking distance to Main Street.

We had Sunday brunch here. What was good was really really good, the rest sort of so-so. Like other people have stated, the cereal encrusted French toast was awesome. Get it. The crab cake benedicts were surprisingly bland. The artichoke n mozzarella appetizer was also bland and didn't appear grilled at all. It was cold canned artichokes on cold mozzarella. Coffee was awesome. Service was good. We didn't have reservations and there were tons of empty tables, but they kept turning people away who didn't have reservations, so I guess we got lucky? Maybe reservations would be recommended?

First things first: I've dined at The Green Room several times and their brunch/lunch menus are far superior to their dinner menu in both selection and price. As a note, I've never had bad service here, and they also have some pretty great drink specials during their happy hours :) The one issue I have is that they offer cappucinos/espressos but their machine has been broken the past couple of times I've been there, and the regular coffee is barely passable. (Though admittedly, I'm a bit of a coffee snob.) The breakfast sandwich (love that you have several bread and cheese options!), eggs benedict, Indian chicken salad sandwich, orchard sandwich, and tuscan chicken melt sandwich are all delicious. While I'm not sure their fries are really 'the best in the US", I've had all three kinds and they're certainly very good as well.

Unfortunately we did not take the advice of other diners. Take mine, please. The crab cakes had so much bread filling and arrived burnt on one side (turned down so hopefully we wouldn't see it) and they were cold inside. Sending them back to the kitchen didn't resolve the issue. The trout was deep fried and had honey poured over the top. The only decent thing we had was the taco appetizers and our waitress was nice. Neither of us finished our dinner and I took my date down the street to Rick Erwin's Nantucket Restaurant were we got an order of the crab cake appetizers. TGR chefs.... do yourself a favor... go down the street and taste some real crab cakes. Oh... and call Gordon Ramsey... you qualify for an episode of Kitchen Nightmares!

Busy lunch= GROSS Normally at dinner the food here is decent. I ordered the mussels appetizer but The "broth" was solely composed of warm cooking wine and pesto. The Black and blue burger was tasteless and my boyfriend ate three bites and gave up. A toasted sandwich was ordered clearly with no mustard. It came to the table w mustard- and got sent back only to return burnt so badly that the smell floated over the whole table. We complained....No one cared. If you do go here when they are busy just order the truffle fries and a salad, otherwise you'll be sorely disappointed.

We went here for brunch on a trip from NY. The food was pretty good, I had an omelet and breakfast potatoes. Tasty! The host looked completely miserable while doing anything for us, hosts are supposed to be the most welcoming!!

They were willing to make their Turkey BLT without cheese and also went to the trouble of asking the chef to confirm the beef stew was non-dairy. Five stars for kindness and deliciousness!

Yum! Love the menu here. The steak salad is amazing! And what a steal at $10. I still need to come back and enjoy the mussels, but the prices and quality of food we've had is top notch. Restaurant decor is basic and restaurant is a bit dark, but the service is attentive and management seems to care. Which is nice!

Had high hopes for this place but was disappointed greatly. My friend and I made reservations on a Saturday night. We arrived and were informed that it would be 20 minutes until they could seat us. Unfortunately there were no seats at the bar so we had to roam around dt until they were ready for us. Once seated, we were immediately given a wine list and told of the specials. I decided to to go with the Caesar side salad and the special as my entree which was a white fish with chorizo rice and carrots and potatoes. The salad was a good typical salad. I did like the big chunks of parmesan. Complimented the salad. Everyone around us had bread...we were never offered bread. Puzzling. It took longer than what I'm used to for our entrees to come out, so by the time they did I was starved! I have NO problem paying more than $25 for my meal but when I do.... I expect it to blow my socks off. This dish tasted as if the chef never tasted it himself. It had zero seasoning. Salt and pepper are the basics of a meal. Cooking 101...right? Everything on the plate was bland. Couldn't finish it. The upside was the fact that I didn't finish my meal so therefore I had room for dessert. I decided to go with the chocolate banana creme brulee. Once ordered it took 12 minutes for it to arrive to my table. It was the best thing I ordered all night. There are a lot of great restaurants dt. That being said, there are too many good ones to come back here again. I wanted to like this place..... it just wasn't in the cards for me that night.
My wife and I were in town for a family wedding. Four days and only found two good restaurants. This place was great. I had the stake salad and my wife had one of their special burgers. Both were very good.

Perfect casual brunch place with affordable pricing in downtown Greenville! I've been here two weeks in a row for brunch and everything I've tried has been delicious. Their crabcakes are awesome - I am not a big fan of muffins so was delighted to receive them on fried green tomatoes! Breakfast sandwich - (sourdough w/ provolone) The thick cut applewood smoked bacon combined with the eggs over easy (you know what I'm talking about - they run when pierced) was perfect. My favorite dish: parmesan truffle fries! I enjoyed them so much the first time I had them, I ordered them as a side the second time. I don't know how they make them but they are addictive and a must order item. I definitely will be back.

I love coming here for lunch. The prices are very affordable, some of the best in the area for lunches. Their sweet potato fries and dipping sauce are excellent, and I often crave their orchard salad sandwich... It's my absolute favorite!!! I'd go for dinner but the prices are a bit high for my budget so I stick with lunch!

How is this the first time I have been to dinner at the Green Room? I've had one brunch previously, but that is all. Turns out I've been missing a lot! The ambiance is just perfect. They've created a cozy, even romantic, hole in the wall feel right in the middle of Main Street. The bar is inviting, and there are two prime booths at the windows looking out on the street. I just felt relaxed from the moment I entered. My husband had the pork chops and I ordered the meatloaf. Both were outstanding, as were the sides served with them. I'm not much for the words "traditional American" or "down-home cooking" on a menu, because I usually find the outcome to be exactly opposite from what I would make at home. But the Green Room manages to pull off Southern comfort food with fresh ingredients that come together with zest - not tired, fried, overly-sauced, salty meat and three offerings. The parmesan truffle fries should have a review all their own. Many have raved about them, and the rumors are true! The portions were huge - we were too stuffed for dessert. And the prices were very reasonable, especially given the portion size. I chose to give 4 stars instead of 5 for one reason. I believe the Green Room wants to be a premier downtown Greenville restaurant. To reach this level, they should begin to offer locally sourced, sustainably farmed ingredients in their dishes. Sure - they may need to raise the prices a bit. But the Green Room is oozing farm to table vibe. They need to take things to the next level and begin to source locally. I can't wait to go back in the near future! I think we'll cozy up to the bar with a big bowl of fries and watch Main Street move by.

First time visitor to Greenville, SC and while walkiing around the nicely orchestrated and pedestrian friendly downtown, we stopped in with some friends for a late lunch. Nice decor, exposed brick walls, nicely decorated for the holidays with Santa hats for the chair back covers around the bar (aww, how festive, right?). Food was very well prepared and tasty. Neat place to eat in a very cool downtown.

I had high hopes for my family's visit last Sunday. Let's start with the service. It was very disappointing , my wife's martini glass had lipstick all over the rim . I sent it back and when the server returned 10 minutes later this glass had lipstick all over it too. Now for the food. It was marginal at best. The $32 filet mignon and the stuffed pork chop were tuff as shoe leather. So I guess what I'm trying to say is I had a bad experience.

We popped in here to watch a football game and sit at the bar and had a great time! Eric, the bartender was kind but not overly chatty and had great suggestions for the menu and the drinks. Oh and the Parmesan truffle fries are out of this world!

Dear server: sorry about the crappy tip. But I'll tell you why . We sat way too long before being greeted. You never brought us ketchup. It took a really long time to refill our waters. And we were done with our meal before you checked on us. Also, all this time the hostess stood at her station, ignoring our empty waters. Anyway, on the plus side, the portions were great, the salad was delish, and the fries were pretty good ( they had rave reviews, but I wouldn't go that far).

Instead of getting normal full-sized meals, my family chose to order more of an appetizer feast with a couple of salads and one entree, all of which were amazing. The fried green tomatoes, calamari, ahi tuna tacos, and crab cakes were the appetizers we ordered, and they were all outstanding... I particularly loved the tacos and the crab cakes. The entree we ordered was the grilled swordfish, and it was also wonderful. We were there to eat dinner before a concert at the Peace Center, and the atmosphere was great, the meal at the Green Room really rounded out our evening!
I've been to the Green Room (3) times and this review is an aggregation of those visits. First (2) visits the food was pretty good, would give it a 7.5 out of 10. I thought though, that the price for what was being served was a little high. I believe when I went that the meatloaf was nearly $20 which I find a bit high considering what meat loaf is. BUT....the food has been pretty good.....except my last visit. I don't blame the Green Room per say for what I had....but I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and the chicken was so tough and over cooked it was like chicken jerky (if there is such a thing). I returned the dish, the waiter was great, but they charged me for the entree. I had (2) bites of it. So I guess that sways my review a bit.... Again the food is good, I think there is better value in the area for the same food quality.

Went there for the Thanksgiving dinner last night. Food was awful, everything was overcooked. Mac and cheese was hard as a rock and cold as one too. I can't believe they even served it to us. The couple in front of us and the family sitting behind us complained about the food to the manager. They must have really had an off night. I wouldn't recommend this place and won't be returning.

Nice ambiance, knowledgable staff, interesting menu (a slight twist on the traditional Americana). Staff followed too much of the 'leave you alone' philosophy (from filling water, checking on the table, and even taking my money). The manager even mentioned it to one of the waiters, but just mentioned it. Kitchen was slow, to the point of it feeling like they weren't prepared. Restaurant was only half full. I've lived in the south a long time. The slowness of both the kitchen and waitstaff was beyond the no rush relaxed pace of the south. This felt more like they didn't care. On to the food! Caesar salad with anchovies: good, light, lemony, barely any dressing, but anchovies perfectly completed the salad and were not overbearing. The salad would have been kind of boring without them though. Blt: good, though it's hard to screw up or go above and beyond on a Blt. The Americana "twist" was an avocado aioli, but it was negligible and unremarkable. Truffle fries: delicious! No ketchup needed. The fries themselves were just boring regular fries, but the truffle oil and Parmesan made them great. Overall: a generous three stars

Went to the Green Room from Brunch on Saturday. Unbelievably good. The grits were best I have ever had. A friend of mine ordered the French Toast which can be stuffed or topped with fruit and whipped cream. Looked delicious. I haven't been there for lunch or dinner, but breakfast was one of the best I have ever had. Cute atmosphere and impeccable service as well.

Heard so much about the Green Room. Was dying to try it out. Luckily, I found a Restaurant.com certificate which clinched it....I had to go. Very glad we did. We started with a side order of their famous garlic, truffle oil fries (really good, but maybe not quite as amazing as I had expected), then moved onto Shrimp and Grits (awesome, as good as any other I've had in the upstate), my wife had the chipotle meatloaf (she loved it, especially the jalepeno macaroni). We will definitely be back again. A great little place located conveniently downtown. Loved it!

We tried again for brunch on Easter Sunday and brought friends with us this time. Unfortunately, we were not as impressed with the food or the service. Our waiter was very scattered and seemed unfamiliar with the menu, so maybe he was new. My husband actually had to get up and track him down a couple of times to fill the coffee cups, and the food seemed less fresh, maybe pre-prepared for the Easter rush? They were handling the crowd well though, although everyone seemed less than friendly. Maybe it was the stress of the holiday. We may try again for lunch or dinner.

Fantastic menu. I tried the Meat loaf to see what the fuss was all about and it did not disappoint. The mac n cheese is bomb too. If you are looking for a good meal and don't want to empty your wallet like some of the other spots in Greenville than this is the place. Great, friendly service as well.

I've dined here several times, twice for brunch and recently for dinner. Every time I have been here the service has been poor. While eating brunch I was sitting outside so I assumed that the lulls between visits from the wait staff were due to us not being within direct sight of the staff. On a Sunday afternoon I wasn't too concerned that brunch took on a relaxing pace, however this past week while dining inside for supper we again experienced poor service. Very disappointing for a small eatery. The food, however, is always good and the prices are reasonable. I've enjoyed the french toast, cauliflower soup, signature salad, burger, and steak salad. I'd skip the truffle fries - they were mediocre, at best. Great location with a pleasant atmosphere. This past Thursday evening it became very loud at the bar at around 9 p.m. while patrons came in to watch a game. I'd recommend this restaurant for weekend brunch (served all day!), but would advise against planning a quick meal before a show or a quiet, romantic dinner here.

This was my second visit in a couple of months. The first time was at Saturday brunch, when the bad service highlight was one of our party's meals being forgotten by the server or kitchen and served after everyone else had finished eating. Fast forward to Friday night, our party of 4 was seated immediately since we had reservations. The server came over to take our drink orders: a beer, 2 glasses of wine, and one water. Ten minutes later, the server brought over 3 glasses of water and placed them in front of the folks who didn't order water, but none for the person who did. Fifteen to twenty minutes later, the server reappears with the bar drinks and to take the dinner order. When the food was brought out, we still had not received the fourth water for the table. Mussels were OK but the meatloaf was inedible. Bad service and a lack of caring is the hallmark of the Green Room. We will not return.

My Omelette was $9.00
(4)Markus H.
Great for breakfast, great for dinner! Food is always well prepared and the service keeps an eye on you, but is not annoying ;) Short Rib Mini Tacos and TGR Meatloaf was great.
(4)Reid H.

(5)Steve G.

Another new place in greenville. Went in for lunch. Had the French Dip (Good) and the truffle fries (awesome!). Well worth checking out.
(4)Alice W.
My husband and I had appetizers at the Green Room. They were quite yummy and I would definitely return for a full meal.
(4)Cyn L.

(1)Steve L.
CHEERS!!!
(5)Lucy W.
(4)Amanda Z.

I took my boyfriend to dinner here as a gift for our anniversary thinking it would be great, however, I ever wrong. Our server was friendly but the food was horrible. We started off with mussels as an app, they were ok. Then, for dinner I ordered the scallops over asparagus risotto with a pomegranate purée. My scallops tasted salty and had some awful blackish-gray juice that the chef tried to lie about being a color that happened when being cooked. Gross, it looked like metal from an old pan. The risotto was extremely salty & way over cooked...you actually had to cut it to take a bite--not at all how risotto should be prepared! My boyfriend ordered the Crab Cakes entrée and let's just say, they were also salty and 80% filler barely any crab. The restaurant had clumps of dust hanging onto the paneled curtains on the walls and it smelled moldy. I would never suggest this restaurant to anyone. Also, interestingly, I voiced my experience on their Facebook page and NO ONE from the management apologized talk about horrible management.

Great place to eat for brunch! Great atmosphere, service, and staff. Always busy for brunch so make a reservation to ensure seating indoor or out.
(5)Grisel C.
(4)Emily T.
(2)Steph C.
(4)Mark B.
Great food and customer experience. From burgers to salads, they are the best in Greenville!
(5)Brandon D.
(4)Lindsay S.
Great brunch and lunch menu! I am not a fan of meatloaf, but this is NOT your moms meatloaf. Ask for Larry behind the bar! Tell him Lindz sent ya!
(5)Stacey J.
Loved the atmosphere right away:) we got the bruschetta as an app and it was fresh and delicious! Then both our meals were great!! Prices are good for what you get though and we had a great time. Make a reservation even during the week bc it for crowded quickly. Also great wine selection but pricey .
(4)Kyle V.
Great food and service, our orders came fast and the entrees were better than expected. Great place for brunch. The Indian curry chicken salad sandwich was spot on; and the cauliflower gorgonzola soup was to die for.
(5)Tony J.
(4)Eric G.
The stuffed pork chop is amazing. My friend had the Rib-eye which he describes as "beyond description".
(5)Stephen S.
Food was ehhh, not wowed. Tastebuds did not enjoy the dishes but the service was amazing with John! Maybe will try again but it will not be anytime soon....

(2)Melissa G.
The food is just ok, but the 45 minute wait to get it in a half empty restaurant was ridiculous. Of course when my daughter had a bug crawl out of the chicken salad, we all lost our appetite.
(1)Patrick T.
(4)Barbara W.
(4)Ken M.
(2)Jeff B.
Great for lunch and dinner. Best Bloody Marys and meat loaf in town. Love sitting on the sidewalk drinking wine abd watching people.
(5)Emily E.
Don't come here for dessert or drinks, neither were good. Didn't get to try the regular menu since we came in late. The bartender was very friendly but the brownie just wasn't worth eating and I'll eat almost anything!
(2)Meg F.
Awesome food. The fried green tomatoes were served with cream cheese and were truly scrumptious. Service was great. Only downside was that they didn't serve moscato.
(4)Kristina S.
(5)Craig M.

(2)Jen C.

The TGR Meatloaf is the best! Try it you won't be disappointed. Great atmosphere, the wait staff is attentive and the prices are reasonable. It's definitely a go to in Downtown for something different.
(5)Leslie H.
Amazing food in an upscale but cozy atmosphere. Definitely going back as often as possible.

(5)Adam B.
Been here twice now and it is the perfect place to have a nice meal with 2-4 people. The salad with walnuts and goat cheese was great, the mushroom appetizer, the meatloaf and shrimp and grits are all great!
(5)Pepe N.

Love the ambience, and freshness of everything from the food to the drinks. Great friendly staff and inviting decor.

Must try the meatloaf, and of course the truffle fries. New favorite spot in Greenville!!!

Lots of flies swarming in the room for my Sunday brunch. Very disappointed service, very disappointed attitude and best very disappointed food. I will never, never say never, be back- But I won't be back!

Food could have been better. Grits are way too dry. Nice atmosphere. Service is good enough..not great.

By far my favorite hangout on Main Street. Food is good and always something new to try, drinks are wonderful and service is friendly and fast.

(4)A Food P.
I love this restaurant! I've never had a bad meal here. I've tried the meatloaf, the salad with steak, the burgers, the pasta, the seafood, everything is delicious here. I love the atmosphere too!
(5)Ashley M.

(1)Ellen R.
We went here for brunch on a trip from NY. The food was pretty good, I had an omelet and breakfast potatoes. Tasty! The host looked completely miserable while doing anything for us, hosts are supposed to be the most welcoming!!
(3)Jason L.
They were willing to make their Turkey BLT without cheese and also went to the trouble of asking the chef to confirm the beef stew was non-dairy. Five stars for kindness and deliciousness!
(5)sharon a.

(2)R S.
Working on Main St, the Green Room is one of my staples. At lunch I'm a fan of the Cuban sandwich. Dinner the short rib tacos and Ahi tuna tacos are both decent choices to start. As for entrées I normally go with the lamb chops or ribeye. I wish there was more consistency here with preparation. Sometimes they can be great, others average. For the price point, I expect more consistency from the kitchen. Great bar staff.
(4)Ralph M.

(5)Julie W.

(4)Tim H.
(4)Matt W.
I finally got around to trying the Green Room this weekend and was pleasantly surprised. The ambiance is great, solid service, and enjoyed the food. The crab cakes were done nicely with a great mustard sauce and garlic mashed potatoes. I will definitely be back.
(4)Stacey F.
(2)Rebecca F.
We popped in here to watch a football game and sit at the bar and had a great time! Eric, the bartender was kind but not overly chatty and had great suggestions for the menu and the drinks. Oh and the Parmesan truffle fries are out of this world!
(4)Autumn I.
(3)Kaylyn W.
(5)Mike B.
Had a very nice dinner at The Green Room on my last visit. We were disappointed they were out of the Mussels, but instead ordered the Mini Crab Cakes, which were pretty good (for non Maryland crab cakes). For my main entrée I had the Meat Loaf dish and it is a unique, must try dish. It is not like your mother's meat loaf! Taste it and you'll agree. A decent wine and beer list tops off a really good restaurant. If I lived in Greenville I'd be a regular diner.
(4)Scott M.
(3)Greg E.
(1)Barbara I.
Great food, great service and just a nice place to be! The food was delicious and came out nice and hot! We will come back again when we're in the Greenville area.
(5)Tote B.

The steak and sweet potato fries were outstanding, the portions are huge, and the service was great.

The Green Room has won me over with their meatloaf. Try it; your taste buds will thank you! I must get my fix this week.

Loved it!

Took the kids, it was a little pricy for family but perfect for a date night type place.

Decent food and good sidewalk tables on Main Street, but very slow service. There are better places in the area for lunch / brunch.

Very tasty food, good price, good setting. Only complaint is that I made a reservation and we were sat in the back of the restaurant in the dark, in the cold
