I would recommend the chicken scaloppini or chicken parmesan dinner with a caesar salad. My wife and I dine in at least once a month and do curbside once every other week. The service is usually good sometimes excellent but rarely poor. The flavor is one of the best in the area for Italian food. I highly recommend.

I also believe this is an Olive Garden with a different decor. Pretty much everything is pasta, of course and slightly on the high side. Whatever I ordered was a pasta with a garlic cream sauce that was actually pretty good. The olive oil they place on the table for dipping the bread is sort of half ass. The bread quality wasn't anything to write home about nor was the olive oil. I'm not the one to just launch a piece of mediocre bread covered in crappy olive oil down my esophagus just because you place it in front of me. How about trying to add something to the olive oil like a little bit of crappy balsamic vinegar or herbs and spices. Also this particular location is in a county that does NOT SELL ALCOHOL ON SUNDAYS! wtf let's move on to the 21st century... Also the waiter was so sarcastic it was ridiculous, But since we only saw him about 3-4 times during our meal it really wasn't that annoying. I probably wouldn't go here again with all of the other options in the vicinity of this place that are about the same quality but much less expensive.

I was thoroughly impressed with getting right in and getting seated. The service was good, however, very dissapointed that they don't card. I 'm totally against not carding just because a person looks or doesn't look old enough. The food was good, typical Italian Bread with an olive oil/seasoning. We had the Chicken Parmasagn and Seafood Linquini. I thought there was not enough sauce on the Seafood Linguini and it seemed a bit dry. The shrimp was plump and big. The Chicken parmasagn was a bit skimpy on the spaghetti, but the taste was great. The service was wonderful. Scarlett had a great smile, cheerful, but not the fake kind trying to get a good tip. She came around asking how things were and didn't wait to pounce like some servers do. Very nice! Drawing on the table is always a plus at Macaroni Grill! It's fun for kids young and old. I recommend it, however, ask for extra sauce if you get pasta. Easy to get to and plenty of parking!

I love Macaroni Grill but not this one. I ordered one of my favorite appetizers the calimari. When it was served to me the presentation was nice but upon closer inspection they looked a little dry and wrinkled. They tasted like old soggy McDonald's fries that have been sitting under the lamp too long. I hadn't eaten all day and I was starving so I ate them anyway. My penne rustica came and it was so salty that I am writing this review from my hospital bed waiting to get a stint put in. (Kidding) but it was WAY too salty!!! Again my hunger got the better of me and the fact that I'm working out of town and the meal is paid for from my employer so I ate all that too. Mind you it was 9pm and I haven't eaten all day or I would have sent both these meals back but since it was free I decided to go with the TV dinner taste and consistency and ate because I needed to. This was not macaroni grill quality food and I don't care what day of the week or what time it is for what they charge you for a meal it should be delicious. Macaroni Grill is one of my favorite restaurants but I won't return to this one. Epic failure to my taste buds. I'm italian lived in Italy and grew up eating italian food. Do yourself a favor and go to Sciortino's.

I'm giving this place a 3-star rating to be nice. Service was really slow but our waitress was extremely nice. Food was too bland & this is my 2nd time here.

Disgusting! Horrific! I wouldn't have thought it possible to turn such simple ingredients into something so revolting. Took one bite of my dinner and the server made no notice. Pushed my food to the other side of the table, server said nothing. Asked for the check because I was on vacation and didn't want to deal with discussing it wish a manager. She asked if I wanted a box and I said ABSOLUTELY NOT and she was like "ok" and rang up the order and said nothing of it. Horrible food horrible service. Too many good choices in this parking lot. Don't risk your life here!

WOW is all i can say, i work with one of the cooks from romanos macaroni grill at my job, hes a cook at our pub and cooks there at romanos, he told me friday night they had a dishwasher quit and for me to go talk to their kitchen manager so i called and the guy said they were busy for me to stop by some time and fill out an app and talk with him about the open position, so 3 days later monday which is today i stopped by and the kitchen manage wasnt there , the front of house manager was there and when i asked about an application and inquired about the dishwasher position he said this crazy nonsense IM KNOW FOR A FACT WE WONT BE HIRING A DISHWASHER, THE SUMMER IS OUR SLOW SEASON ive been in the service industry for 9 years 6 in restaurants/bars, ive worked front doot at a strip club, cooked at a fine dining and family restaurant , washed dishes in pubs, clubs, rests and bars, in my 9 years ive never seen a restaurant have a slow summer season, winters are slow everywhere even the big chains like chiefs and windwing cafe because people dont go out as much in the winter the guy who told me about the job was latino, eveyrone i saw in the kitchen today was latino, i guess they dont wanna hire me because of my race being white, ive also saw a sharp decline in black people working at restaurants as well, i guess us americans wont be able to get a job in america in another 50 years due to peopel like romanos and the ones in the construction industry smh

Two stars because the food should get 4, but the waitress should get zero. Her name is Nichole (maybe don't write it down next time) and she was probably the worst waitress I've had. Slow night we were about 1 of 5 tables and they seemed to have 4 wait staff walking around and a hostess. I watched her have a five minute conversation across the room with the hostess while holding my glass of wine that I had already waited 10 minutes for the wine. In hind site I guess I could I have quit my conversation to walk across the room the get it myself. Had to ask for water more than once. Did not come check on us until it was time to pay (go figure). And of course I saw another waitress offering her table cheese as their meal arrived - yeah none for us. Though her terrible work ethic can't be completely her fault, where was the manager all night? I didn't see anyone that looked like one so here is my yelp complaint.

Romano's is part of the Ignite Restaurant Group - a chain that encompasses Joe's Crab Shack and Brick House Tavern as well as Romano's. I am not normally a fan of chains and find the Macaroni Grill to be somewhat hit or miss depending upon location. With the reviews others had given this location I was a bit leery of dining here. However, I was dining with a larger group and this is what they chose. Let me first start by saying the staff and management were friendly and helpful. Our reservation grew from a group of 6 to over 10 at the last minute. They had no issues at all and set us up a nice table in the back of the restaurant while we enjoyed a glass of wine at the bar. Service throughout the evening was attentive and friendly. Wines and waters were never empty. I have always loved the Macaroni Grill's bread with it's slightly salty herbed crust. The bread here did not disappoint - it was served warm and fresh with an olive oil for dipping. A little awkward having to slice our own when dining with a large group of coworkers, but it is what it is. For appetizers we enjoyed the calamari and goat cheese peppadew peppers. The calamari was what you would expect - decent flavor and not too chewy, but I thought a rather small serving. I did enjoy the accompanying aioli - nice change from traditional marinara. The peppadew peppers were delicious with the goat cheese stuffing, toasted breadcrumbs and drizzled with the honey balsamic sauce. I snagged two of those peppers - again serving size seemed small, but I did not pay attention to price since I was not footing the bill so I can't comment as to value for price. For an entrée, I selected Carmela's chicken. I see people commenting that particular dish was bland, but I found it decent. This was basically a dish of penne with chicken, marsala cream sauce and caramelized onions. The chicken was not overdone, but tender and personally I loved the flavor the caramelized onions imparted to the sauce. Just a thought - this is not something you would find on the typical authentic Italian menu so I think the key here is keeping in mind that this is Americanized Italian food. Our server was very accommodating to one diner with us who had a sensitivity to gluten and went over all the options on the menu with her very patiently. All in all a good experience with no complaints. Five star dining no, but if you are in the mood for some Americanized Italian grub, this is not a bad place too come. Plenty of variety on the menu too.

The only thing that kept me from crying was the fact the waitresses kept crying as they had to pour their own drinks from the bar as they lamented how far behind the kitchen was. Sad thing is I think they were management and not servers. Frazzled, frantic and not a pleasant experience. I get this kind of anxiety at a doctors office.

Romanos left a lot to be desired. We had fettuccini Alfredo with shrimp and chicken. It is really hard to mess up fettucini Alfredo. The noodles were stuck together. The chicken was burnt and made everything taste like charred chicken. There were so few shrimp that we weren't sure which plate had the shrimp on it. In addition it seemed that the sauce was not mixed properly as it had an odd texture to it in places. However the curb side delivery was fast and friendly but we won't be visiting again. :(

Food is good but they are always taking dishes off the menu, I stopped going when they took the chopped market salad off, very disappointed

I had never been to a Macaroni Grill before and was craving some cheap Italian food. I was thinking this place would probably be similar to Olive Garden, which I think is fairly mediocre. Oh, how wrong I was. Disappointing is how I would describe the experience. And definitely NOT cheap. First off, the portions were pretty small for the price. Most of the dishes ranged from $12-18. And seriously - why skimp so much on the pasta when it's the cheapest part of the dish? I ordered Carmela's chicken. The sauce was just bland and it really could have used more pasta and mushrooms in it. My partner ordered the Pasta Milano and had a similar experience (barely any sundried tomatoes). The only decent thing was the bread (which we had plenty of), but I did not care much for the olive oil they use at the table. Despite our disappointing food, I will say that the service was really good. It was a busy Friday and we only had to wait 15 minutes for a table (which is what the hostess estimated for us). Our server delivered our food hot, refilled our glasses, and was friendly and helpful. She was the best part of the whole meal. Honestly, I can't see myself coming back. The overpriced food just isn't worth it. You can get a meal at Olive Garden for the same price, get more food, and have unlimited salad and breadsticks.

lama C could not state it better. I used to love this place years ago. I still love the atmosphere and the staff usually. But . . . I can no longer pay the price for their less than special food just to enjoy the dining room. Further, they have moved from Italian music to a blend of what everyone else plays yet they have moved from stemware to the stumpy glass to be more 'authentic' my server recounted. I may drink out of a mason jar on occasion but never when I go out and spend over $25 for my meal. We will dine elsewhere.

Iama Critic Rating - Romano's Macaroni Grill - 2 Stars 105 East Beacon Drive, Greenville, SC Overall: For two stars or less I forgo my normal review style, so let's get right to it. Years ago Romano's Macaroni Grill used to be one of my favorite Italian restaurants. Their Pasta di Mare, Grilled Salmon Spiedini and their awesome Mama's Trio were always a favorite. But all is not well at Romano's, apparently they have chosen the low road and while their service remains adequate, their food has taken a dive unlike anything I have seen in an aspiring to be upscale restaurant. The last three times my critic friends and I have visited Romano's things have went horribly wrong. The once phenomenal Mama's Trio is now $17 and is one half the size. But worse yet it was burnt beyond being edible. Literally they covered it with cheese before it got to the table to hide their chef's failure. But at $17 for pasta, I refuse to settle for less than I can get at, dare I say it.... Olive Garden! I called the manager to my table and told him of times past, of my incredible joy of dining in the good ol days when Romano's was king of Greenville Italian, and I then asked if he thought my plate was going to bring those days back. He took it away and brought me a proper plate of pasta. He also gave my guests free desert, as for me, I never accept something for free after voicing a complaint, because that is never my point! My point is that Romano's Macaroni Grill used to be a dining experience I could count on when I wanted to treat my guests like kings, but Romano's can no longer be trusted to deliver even an overpriced average meal much less the delectable delights they used to eloquently serve so long ago! As a chef, I think maybe what Romano's need is a little Gordon Ramsay style intervention. Close the place for a few days, smack the chef around for awhile, practice cooking pasta and playing with spices, surely you remember spices? Do this until you remember what it's like to be real chefs, re-open and call me when you deserve to be appreciated again. Until then, Olive Garden is open seven days a week. I will be the one sitting there morning the loss of my once great Romano's Macaroni Grill.

Macaroni Grill is set in a group of restaurants surrounding a few hotels on Beacon Dr. They seem to be a chain that I've never heard of similar to Olive Garden. The food was alright, pretty safe, ambiance is like you'd expect from an Olive Garden. This place got pretty crowded right after work 5:30-6 on a weekday. Nothing to write home about, just another chapter in my great Greenville adventure.

I get the fact that it's the day after Xmas but really. It's not my fault that you're understated. Over 60 minute wait time and there are empty tables everywhere. I like how that manager or so called manager is avoiding us. The hostess has as much tact as a flaccid fish. What's up that learn Italian track in the bathrooms. Food came about 1.5 hours later. It was ok but really, restaurants aren't all about food are they? Can't recommend the location because of lack of service.

My wife and I have always been fans of the Macaroni Grill, but with two very young children we haven't been there much lately. We took a risk the other day and it paid off wonderfully. The bread was wonderful, the Caesar salad was great. My wife tried her old standby, the penne Rustica and it was good as always. I had a grilled steak and vegetable dish, it was quite good, but don't know if I would get it again? Overall, a pleasant dining experience.

Excellant food and 99% of the time service is good. I love their bread especially with the Olive oil. Good place to have your birthday also, the dessert is monstrous and I really don't know where they find there singers, but omg the girl that sang to me, ...oh my!!!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
