The bacon burger was pretty greasy but good, the fries a thick crinkle cut (my favorite), the ladies working are pretty nice and the food came out quick. I only gave it 3 stars because the food wasnt awesome, but I am definitely willing to come back and try something else.

I was tired of the same-ole chain restaurants in the Cherrydale area, so I decided to try out Patrick's. It's your typical small meat-and-two, home-style place. I got the country steak (w gravy), mashed potatoes, green beans, and mandatory sweet tea. The price was very affordable; less than 12 bucks for two. The food was ok however it did remind me of high-school cafeteria food. It all seemed a little processed, out of a can, and warmed over. But it is one of the few places that that serves vegetables. I'll probably go back to Patrick's and try some other menu items--maybe a burger.

Iama Critic Rating - Patrick's Restaurant - 2 Stars 3111 North Pleasantburg Drive, Greenville, SC Overall: We have all heard it said that, "The customer is King." So True! And businesses that base their services on what their customers want, usually succeed. But every now and then, on super rare occasions, my food critic crew and I walk into a restaurant and are utterly baffled by the business model or the owner's conduct. Oh sure the service is adequate and the food is edible, but there is evidence that things have gone horribly wrong. The first clue is the big sign on the wall that says, "NO REFUNDS". Of course when so many patrons ask for refunds that you have to put up a sign saying "no refunds", it is a clear sign that the restaurant has a problem. But instead of listening to customers and making the necessary improvements, the restaurant has chosen the "just screw the customer" option. The second clue is that you pay before you are served. This may be fine for McDonald's where they serve the same identical burgers five million times a day. And by itself this clue isn't even a real clue as one of my favorite restaurants is a "pay first" place. But when the clues start to add up, rest assured the unscrupulous business will get their money before you can complain. The third clue is when the owner comes out from the kitchen and yells at you and your guest critics for taking pictures of the food we ordered. Seriously, the owner came out and yelled that we had to "ask for permission to take pictures." Wow, out of the thousands of restaurants I have been in I may have heard that only two or three times, and certainly never in a fast food place. The Service - 3 Stars The service was about average. As always we tried to socially engage our waitress but she was strictly business. That fine, but it's not how you earn a great tip. So ours was average. The Food: $5.00 - Gyro Sandwich - 2 Stars This gyro had two thin slices of pre-processed gyro meat. Tasted a bit like old Kronos, but I could have the brand wrong. But at least they didn't cut the pita into four tiny pieces as is so common now days. It isn't the worse gyro in Greenville, but it certainly isn't good. $4.49 - Onion Ring Plate - 2 Stars Some of the worse rings in town. Tasteless and served with no seasoning or sauces. You want great rings? Go to Cheddar's Casual Cafe where you get a generous portion of fat, crispy rings served with two sauces for less money. $4.30 - Flounder Sandwich - 3 Stars Rather plain and boring but cooked well and a decent piece of fish. About the same as Bee Bee's fried flounder sandwich. I suggest going to Bee Bee's where the customer is king and the flounder is cheaper. $7.30 - Double Cheeseburger plate - 2 Stars Seriously boring fries and slaw. And there is nothing special about this burger at all. So you might as well get the same stuff for much less at Cook Out Burgers! Final Thoughts: I take great pride in the hundreds of honest reviews I have written on Yelp alone, and in all the effort I take to make everything I order, even two star fast food junk, look magnificent in the photos I take. It is no easy task and sometimes takes more time to clean up a dish than it does to eat it. So the day I bother listening to the rant of a screaming owner of a restaurant is the day I quit eating out! Seriously, it is never smart to scream at the food critics with thousands of readers on half a dozen review sites! I bought the food, and me and my crew will do whatever we want with it! And I don't give a rat's butt, if the owner likes it or not! To talk to or treat customers in this way is just bad business mojo, and it doesn't impress Chef Iama Critic, 5 Star Restaurant Reviews, or any other diner for that matter. And I would expect nothing less from Patrick's than public denial and a new little sign on the wall that says "No Critics Allowed!"
