When we first moved to the Five Forks area my husband and I would frequent Mimis for sushi bc we were too lazy to drive all the way downtown. It was good but the service was always slow. And not super helpful. Esp the bar staff. So we stopped giving the place "another chance" & found another spot for sushi downtown. Fast forward fuve years later, to our son begging us to go to Mimis for hibachi. Ugh. So we took him. Twice over the course of a summer. Both times were forgettable. Food was decent yes. But service was stinky. This place has gone downhill. We have not been back in three years. And do not plan on it.

Facilty - carpeted floors dingy, dining table had broken parts and seats hadn't been brushed off from previous diners, menus were tattered with cracked covers, pepper shaker sticky Server - nice but slow to respond, yelled across the room for the beer list, brought the appetizer after the main dish was delivered Food - salads were overloaded with dressing, steak was overly chewy, chicken was good, shrimp was tasteless and chewy, veggies and rice prepared well Chef - personable, fun and very good presentation Management - Issue with manager over an incorrect bill showed him to be more of a thug than a restaurant manager. He ultimately adjusted the bill but only after confronting him with the issues. Never to return!

The food was not very well prepared and the chef was neither engaging nor entertaining. Other chefs in the restaurant seemed much more engaging with their tables.

Service: staff was friendly & nice Chef: Hibachi show is good Food: Quantity is a lot; you will have plenty to take home. Price: is good for what you get; esp if you go for early dinner special for $12.95/person pick two (chicken/shrimp/meat) Shrimp is the best. We gave it 3 star b/c food was so salty. Also if you are going there during summer make sure you take light jacket with you if you don't like Cold A/C temperature.

One the best places to go for sushi on the east side of Greenville, lunch is from 11-2 on weekdays , large sushi bar area and well lit , this is the only mimis that is serving sushi at lunch now , if your in the area definitely check them out , you wont be disappointed in the sushi .

I happened to be in the area and had never been here but had been curious for a while. Maybe dinner is better, but I'd not come here again for lunch. No sushi lunch menu, hibachi menu was weak and staff not very informed or present. I paid way too much to leave still hungry and it took longer than it should have. The sushi place I typically go to for lunch is way better and has huge offering for lunch. The service their is superb. They are also packed every lunch. Mimi's shouldn't bother opening for lunch unless they plan on actually trying. It explains why I'm the only one here. The Sushi was okay and quick. I didn't try any nigiri or sashimi to see the quality and size of fish but stuck to rolls for bang per buck.
