What could make being from the Buffalo area and walking down Main St. in Greenville the day after Christmas, enjoying the sunshine and 50 degree weather better? Being hungry for lunch and finding yourself in front of the Lemongrass. We really like Thai food and enjoy trying new Thai places, and so glad we did. I won't go into what we ordered but the Spring Rolls, as were our meals, were VG. The next time we're in Greenville we will be visiting Lemongrass again!

One of my favorite thai restaurants in Greenville. They have decent vegetarian options on menu. Waiters have good knowledge on menu items ingredients. Nice place to go to dinner on Friday nights.

Very good service for our large group with a reservation. Pad Thai was an easy choice (my brain was full and I didn't want to study the menu). Great, thin noodles. Good flavor. Generous portion. A bit on the pricey side for lunch, but very filling!

The food was OK, but nothing that I feel that I would have to go back for. The curry was too runny, but tasty. The service was good and the ambiance was alright. I would not go back since I love great food, but don't regret going there.

Well I wasn't disappointed. The food was great as well as the service and atmosphere. I ordered the Pad Thai with shrimp and the Thai Spring Rolls. Another reviewer said the Pad Thai was excellent and she was right. It was easily one of the better Pad Thai dishes I have had. I asked for spicy and it was just right. Looking forward to another trip to Greenville so I can sample more of the menu.

I've been to Lemongrass twice in the last few months, both with friends and colleagues. Lemongrass is centrally located on Main Street and is an easy walk from the hotels or parking garage. Most recently we ordered 2 appetizers (spring rolls and basil rolls) and 3 dishes to share (Massaman Curry, Spicy Basil Chicken and Pad Thai). All of our food was delicious and there was plenty to share. The restaurant is small and I'd recommend a reservation if you were planning to bring a group larger than 6.

Maybe I'm too use to the great Thai you can find in DC and SF but I didn't love this place. Was average food and average atmosphere and ambiance. Service was great.

I am reviewing for most of the menu. Lemon Grass is known amongst my friends for having really good, really safe food, that is still interesting. The Green Curry is very, very good and you will be taking home your leftovers even if they are just a base for a sauce.

Tom yum soup, basil spring rolls, pad something, basil eggplant all wonderful. pleasant setting, smiling server who refilled water without being asked but not intrusive ever. This is what I think of when I want to eat out - flavorful, fresh and different than I cook at home. Thanks for a great meal. prices were fair btw, have to believe those who carp about prices here don't cook or buy groceries much.

Good food if you know what to order. I love the green curry.

Best Thai in Greenville. This place is clean & the waitstaff is helpful. Tofu panang curry is wonderful.

There are a few restaurants that we come back to time and again-- and Lemon Grass is one. Terrific food, service, and prices.

Authentic Thai food in the heart of downtown Greenville... Our meals were delicious and service was excellent. We ordered the dumplings, tom ka gai and tom yum soup, the spicy fried rice and the spicy catfish. Portions were huge and the flavor was phenomenal. Also had a thai iced tea which was fresh and yummy!

So last night I went to Lemongrass with a group of girls. Everyone ordered Pad Thai - except me. I decided to go with the Green Curry with pork which, in retrospect, was a huge mistake. After several spicy bites I just happened to glance down at my plate...and I saw it. The hair. A black hair which was clearly NOT mine, sitting right next to a green pepper on top of a pile of fluffy white rice. I finished my wine and decided I wouldn't be returning to this restaurant for a long time, if ever. At least my bill was only $6.75.

We chose this place because it's on Main street Downtown and looked like a cool restaurant. The restaurant is like a long rectangle with raised seating on one side. The lighting is really cool too kind of dimmed but colorful. The atmosphere is modern and hip, but the food we tried was only so-so, pretty forgettable. We ordered Spring Rolls for appetizers and noodle entrees.

Average food and service. I think you can get similar (or even better Thai) food for a much better price in Greenville.

  • Lisa P.

Well the atmosphere was ok. I order the duck in curry sauce was a disappointment. It was some left over meat boiled in a sad bowl of low quality curry. My friend got the pad see u and it was very salty. Overall I will NOT return. Like EVER!

Just finished dinner here and it was amazing with capital A!! Great food we had duck curry and Pad Thai and it was just perfect. The only downside is the price it could be tiny bit less but in the end i guess its worth it

Can't go wrong with some spicy basil or garlic. I have really enjoyed my meals the three times I've been here but would only recommend this place if you're coming with one or maybe two other people. I'm sure they can accomodate groups, but the atmosphere feels more appropriate for small groups. I've been here with two colleagues, on a date, and for dinner with my best friend. All of these scenarios were right for Lemongrass but I wouldn't pick this restaurant for a group dinner necessarily. That being said, my food was spicy, flavorful and everything I look for in Thai food.

Service was attentive but not obtrusive. The food was fresh and well prepared. The two of us shared cold basil rice paper rolls with a tamarind dipping sauce. my husband ordered pork pad Thai, which he enjoyed. I'm Vegan, and ordered a vegetable Massuman curry. It was delicious, but not worth the two spice stars it had on the menu.

  • Alicia J.

I almost gave this restaurant two stars, but the atmosphere is really great as well to look location right on Main Street. I really love Thai curry, my favorite food, but the curry here was not up to standard it was watery and treated fishy.

  • Ashley G.

Food was good, atmosphere was nice. Service was slow and prices were a little high for lunch but they do give you a free spring roll. Overall I would go again and for bring right on Main Street its a pretty decent option.

Food and atmosphere were good, but not worth the price. I have had better food at better prices elsewhere in Greenville.

Me and my buddy stopped there on the way back to Atlanta from North Carolina. Food was VERY GOOD and tasteful. Fresh, light, and good...Prices were good. Service was excellent. The atmosphere was quiet and inviting. Great place to eat!

We love the Cashew Nut Chicken! Yum!

Been here twice, the first time was really good, the second was so-so; I got a salad that I really didn't like. The Pad Thai is tasty though, decent serving sizes

  • Kelly D.

Excellent job on my two favorite Thai dishes: pad kee mao & green curry....I'm a big fan. Portions are decent sized, but not huge. Will definitely hit this place up again, and again, and again.....

Outstanding food and service. We love Thai food and try it wherever we go, and our favorite is Lemongrass. The owner and staff are very friendly, the atmosphere is warm, and the food is fantastic. If you like chile-based sauce, basil, seafood, and a little heat, try the Fireman Seafood. I'm still dreaming about it!

I recently spent more than a week in Bangkok and experienced some truly excellent Thai food, culture and more. Back in the US for just over two weeks now, I had the pleasure of being in downtown Greenville and eating at Lemongrass with my girlfriend. My fresh memories of Bangkok made me think a little differently about this Thai eatery. Walking into the restaurant, the first thing that struck me was the decor and ambiance. This was particularly impressive since, in my experience, few Asian restaurants in the US have cracked the code on atmosphere. We were immediately greeted by an extremely friendly staff and seated at a nice table. Cold Singha beers arrived at the table before we looked at the menus. From my experience in Bangkok, spicy Thai food and hot Thai weather always call for ice cold Singha beers! Btw, the beer is pronounced, 'Sing" (without the HA). The menu is well-written with good descriptions and interesting sections. I particularly liked the "Bangkok Street Food" section as eating meals from street vendors is an authentic part of living in Bangkok. We ordered one starter and two dishes. The stater was the Larb salad which is excellent... The greens were fresh and the ground chicken was very tasty with enough thai pepper to keep you alert and appreciative of the beers. Following the Larb, we had a flat noodle dish with shrimp and the Siam chicken -- both were excellent as well. The noodle dish was spicy and the Siam was mild. The veggies were fresh, the chicken and shrimp were tasty and the portion size was very generous (contrasting to the much smaller portion sizes in Thailand). If you order 3 dishes, come hungry as we ended up taking 1/3 or more of it home. My girlfriend and both agreed that our experience at Lemongrass was excellent all around. I don't quite understand some of the other reviewers that rated this place with 1, 2 and 3 stars. Unless the food, vibe, atmosphere and authenticity of this place changed from one day to the next, I feel that poor reviews of this place come from people that don't understand what good Thai food is. Try this place, let the staff suggest dishes and combinations, drink some Thai beer and be open to a great Thai eating experience. We plan to return soon an if anything changes, I'll update this review. Oh, and other thing... in the summer, you have to try the mango and sticky rice dessert. I asked them about it when we were there and they only serve it when they get perfect, fresh mango.

This place was confusing for me. The food was okay for us. We ordered two vegetarian starters and two veggie entrees. It was certainly nothing that would stand out in my mind though and when I'm craving Thai food I wouldn't think to come here again. I visit the area a couple times a year and have had a much more memorable meals at another Thai place in some strip mall. Service was adequate as well but not friendly or warm. Our server did not smile once and that threw me off. I am a server/bartender so I understand the importance of flashing a welcoming and gracious smile at least once or twice. But what it boiled down to was the atmosphere - something was off about this place. It is surely a beautiful space but the streamlined minimalist look was so cold and uncomfortable. You'd think they would do a little more to emulate the colorful, rich and exotic culture their cuisine is trying to present itself as. Overall it wasn't blah-gross but it was blah-boring. Two stars for not totally sucking I guess!

There is a few Thai restaurant around town. This one is not on par. I have dine in at a quite a few Thai restaurant here in Greenville, and this one has failed me. I gave this a try. I ordered Green chicken curry and vegetable. It was a good portion for the price. However I can taste a lot of MSG and the chicken had a foul overdue funky smell to it even the curry can't seems to hide it away. I talked to the manager about it. She did a good job taking care of my concerns, and discard the dish, because she too could smell the rotten chicken. They compliment me on some Appetizer satay chicken which was dry and hard while I was waiting for my meal. But hey it's free right? Came another redone chicken curry. Waitress was rude, as she drop the dish on my table. Spilled a few drop of sauce on the table, and quickly off she went to text on her phone. A few dip in when I notice a hair strand on my food. Took that one aside, and found 3 more strand of long hair. I felt very disgusted, and almost vomit. Why? because a few minutes earlier, one of the cook was talking to a waitress that did not have any hair net on. I did not eat, or finish the meal. I talk to the manager and she did not hold me on a tab. I walk out feeling sick. Never will return.

This place does the trick. Not totally authentic, more leaning towards the American flavor yet noneless, I've never been disappointed. They are more than willing to spice it up to your liking.

Delicious Thai food at its best! I'd have to say this is one of the better places to eat in Downtown Greenville. Me and my wife tried it on a whim just to see how it compares to other Thai restaurants outside of downtown. It had a decent comfortable seating. Nothing stood out as far as the atmosphere. Real low key. The server was very friendly and hospitable. But the food was incredible! We had Thai Spring Rolls to start off. The sweet and sour sauce they give you to dip it in is tasty! For our entrees I had the Roasted duck curry and my wife had the classic chicken pad Thai. Both were superb! The roasted duck curry just had the right amount of spice(although you can request how spicy you want it). Tried the pad Thai and it was cooked very well. No complaints from the wife either which is a good thing:) If you haven't tried this place you are missing out!

Awesome. The interior is lovely and fresh, as is the food. The Thai Iced Tea is among the best I've ever had, the basil rolls were crazy good, and the veggie panang curry was to die for. In addition to just being delicious, my favorite part about m veggie curry dish was that there wasn't any tofu! I really don't like that every other thai restaurant throws in ten pounds of tofu to every veggie dish. This one was perfect.

First time in to this downtown Greenville jewel. Wonderful, low-key atmosphere. Got there early for lunch and missed the crowd. Cashew Chicken was fresh and bold with flavor. I appreciate the fact that a place will actually serve you spicy food when the menu says it's spicy! Had a little nasal drip by the time I was done (which is my seal of approval). Wife enjoyed her Chicken Fried Rice but did comment that it didn't have as much flavor as my dish. I'll try the Panang or Pineapple Fried Rice later. Looking forward to next time.

Picked Lemongrass for a long overdue meetup with a friend. Got there around 7 pm on a Monday night. The ambience is relaxing, it was perfect to have a quiet dinner. We ordered the yin yang appetizer, pineapple fried rice and Massamun curry. Everything was fresh and delicious, service was fast, will return.

Super fast....got in and out on a Friday night within 30 mins. At 6pm it was half full and by 7pm there was a queue way out the door! We ordered the cashew chilli chicken which had two chillis in reference to its heat level on the menu and well it was lacking any real heat. It was fresh and tasty though. The 2nd dish we ordered was the Pad kee mao which was definitely up there with the spice level. This dish was loaded with rice noodles however the beef was kind of like 'wheres wally'.....it was super tough to find. The highlight for the drinks was the Mumm Champagne from Napa. Mini bottle @ $10.

The three of us got 3 different dishes to share. The chicken pad Thai was extremely good. It was full of flavor and had lots of chicken. The sweet and sour pork was good. It was quite different than any we had in the past as the pork wasn't highly breaded (which was a good thing) and it wasn't that thick red sauce that you usually see. Lastly we had the chicken cashew. It was very tasty, but much more spicy than we expected. The steamed rice was very good and plentiful. The portions weren't huge as we had no leftovers, but we had plenty to eat. The service and atmosphere were very good.

Delicious food and excellent service. Basil Eggplant, Massaman Tofu, Vegetable Panang Curry were all fantastic. Waiter was spot on. Glasses were always full yet he was not overbearing. Lemongrass tea was phenomenal.

Fresh food prepared properly. I got mine HOT and they did not disappoint! Veggie Spring rolls were perfection!

This place is small and features European style seating. The food is excellent and so is the service. I don't like a lot of ice in my water and our waiter remembered that every time he filled my glass.

This place had some really great food. I told them that I was Gluten Free (and yes...I actually do have a sensitivity so it's not just a fad diet for me) and the server made sure the items I was ordering were gluten free. I put in a last minute order for Spring Rolls. He made sure to tell me (without me asking) that the peanut sauce had gluten in it. He then got me a different sauce to dip into with. The Curry dish that I had was so amazing. We had a couple of drinks with dinner which were reasonably priced and good. I know that if I'm ever back in Greenville, I'll be sure to stop by Lemongrass Thai Restaurant for dinner.

The Pad Thai is exceptional, the service is good, and the aura is fantastic. Another place that I am adding to my fav and most frequently visited list. The location is convenient for a day or evening downtown and the menu is healthy and fresh. I am also impressed with their reasonable prices!! Don't go here so that it can remain low key and I can keep this gem to myself ;)
