Great NY style pizza. Amazing wings!!!

Food was excellent - definitely NY style with a crispy crust. Garlic bread was great, but the Garlic Knots are to die for. Imagine toasted yeast rolls drenched in butter and garlic. We had the Frankie's Special, and it was an excellent combination of toppings. Their pizzas are huge, with a "small" being the same size as a large with the big chains. Do yourself a favor and check this place out!

We've tried the food several times. The sandwiches are far better than the pizza & wings. The pizza & wing order fell short on many points. I picked up a menu 2 days before ordering, and when I picked my food up, the wings were over $2 more because they changed the price but not the menu (Bad business....). We ordered pizza with light sauce, and if that's light, then regular must be drowning. The amount of toppings were almost laughable. We ordered our wings extra crispy, but I'm assuming they bake them and couldn't run them through twice without burning them. They weren't even close to crispy. At least reprint your menus before changing the price & have the girl answering the phone confirming order. We will give it one last try for pizza, but the sandwiches are the real deal.

Bad customer service bad experience the lady who answers was very difficult. Food is alright but not worth the price

Excellent pizza and friendly service. This is becoming my go-to pizza place in Greenville.

My slice of pizza was huge! When I got it... I had to extend my lunch because it took them about 25 minutes to give me a slice of pizza and some garlic knots... But the food was delicious I'm sure I'll be back for lunch again when I'm in the mood for pizza... Somewhat pricey as well but the slices are humongous, so I guess I can't complain too much. It's similar to what people call New York style pizza.

To my surprise this place was right down the street & after moving from Philly I had no desire for Papa Johns or Pizza Hut! The pizza was made fresh & was very tasty! Great customer service too! I'll be back!

The pizza is good, but the employees are not. Last time a few of us went in they were open, and an employee made eye contact, saw us standing in front of the register for approximately 5-6 minutes and he was washing dishes in the back, NEVER came up to take an order or even greet us.

The pizza here is ok. Just ok. The sauce a little too sweet, and they were stingy on the cheese and toppings-again. The guy who took my phone order was an ass. I almost told him not to bother over the phone, but was hoping for some dynamite pizza, so I placed the order anyhow. He was a jerk at pick up, as well. Lose the attitude and step up the pizza! Barley's still the best in Greenville!

I have been in Greenville for about three months. This place has the best pizza and wings that I have tried so far. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5: Three times I've called for delivery... no driver. Looking for a menu? It's in the photos on their Facebook page.

The BEST pizza in town, probably SC and I'd put my money on the south. Perfect crust, not too much sauce or toppings

I was excited to see all the four/five star reviews on this place, so my dad and I tried it. We ordered a small (16 inch pie), pepperoni and one soft drink, totaling about $17. The pizza we got was below our expectations. It looked like a NY pizza, but it didn't quite have the taste. The dough of a NY style pizza is supposed to have an elasticity to it. The abundance of corn meal really dried out the crust, drastically reducing the critical elasticity. The sauce and cheese, perhaps a little on the lean side, were okay. The scant amount of pepperoni was also noticeable, making me laugh when my dad got stuck with a piece with only one pepperoni on it. Dad and I are quite familiar with NY style pie, and while this one looked like a genuine NY pie, it fell short in flavor and consistency. More seasoning in the sauce, more (or better) cheese and less cornmeal on the dough would have made a better pie. So maybe this pizza is authentic (the pricing sure is authentic), but only at the lower end of NYC pizza quality.

I hate to update this review because this is/was my favorite pizza spot in the upstate. But with every visit they are losing stars due to lack of upkeep and such. 1. The AC hasn't been fixed since my visit two months ago. It's currently 88° outside and inside its about 2° cooler than Satan's armpit. 2. Walls are in need of some touch up. I don't mind the missing paint but the filth has got to be addressed. 3. Bathrooms have gone from immaculate to third world truck stop (okay slight exaggeration) 4. Shakers, napkin holders, tables, chairs, and pretty much any surface is so greasy. A little cleaning can't hurt. I swear. Only redeeming factor is the pizza still isn't bad.

Last night was our first visit. The pizza was really good and the crust was perfect. We will certainly try again in the near future.

I'm not sure how this guy continues to stay in business with a filthy nasty attitude to his staff and customers. I walked in to him screaming and yelling like a crazy maniac!! He was talking to himself while he still proceeded to curse and fly off the handle in such a way it appeared he was going to take it out anyone who got in his way. Pure rage!! And he verbally abused myself for no apparent reason, other than he was having his usual bad day! His staff is also rude, especially the girl who acts like it's a bother to serve you. The delivery guy is always texting and playing on his phone. It's a bit dirty with film on the tables. Food is a bit pricy although the pizza is really good, though it could use more flavor in the sauce. Giving him a low rating because an owner who has that much rage, he ought to step back and realize how he is hurting his business in lieu of that. Be aware before entering. I heard the other pizza place down the road from him is very good and the owner will periodically give you a card for free pizza for customer appreciation. I'm moving over his direction:)

Not impressed. We had it delivered, so this isn't a service issue. Pizza was just meh. The crust was chewy, I think I dislocated my jaw trying to eat it. Toppings were meh. A bit pricy too. I was really hungry and ate 3 pieces. I wanted to give it only 2 stars but others in my party thought it was better than that.

Ordered a small pizza here a few weeks back and was somewhat satisfied (in the food). The service not so much. There is a tatted up guy that works there and is very rude and seems like he has no patience at all. Pizza was decent and tasted like a New York style, but if that guy's attitude doesn't change their probably going to loose customer's.

I have no idea why I waited so long to try this "slice" of heaven!! Last night I ordered 2 slices of cheese to go. If these 2 slices were an indication of what a freshly made pie tastes like I'm gonna be in big trouble! I have to say that 1 slice was plenty for me. I have been searching in my neighborhood for Stromboli and they make it, I have to try that soon!! This is my new favorite pizza place because of its location for me too. Less than a mile from home, (they deliver too!!) Yeah me!!

I used to hold Two Guys Pizza in Simpsonville as the gold standard for NY style pizza in the Greenville area. But they aren't open on Sundays or Mondays, so I was always left pizzaless during football season. But here comes Jon's! Amazing pizza! They came down here from Brooklyn and their pizza shows it. I feel like I'm back home when I eat here. Do yourself a favor and pick up a pie from Jon's Pizza. You will never want Little Caesar's or Papa John's again! (But you shouldn't have wanted them in the first place, tisk tisk)

The food was great, very much "New York Style" pizza but it was a little on the pricey side for pizza. It was delicious however!

Fantastic. Always fresh and spicy. The real deal slice form NY. One of the vey best!!!

Exceptional pizza, great calzones and the service is first rate. The pizza reminds me of the great pies I have enjoyed in NYC in years past. These people really know their way around the pizza oven.

If you are looking for New York style pizza, this is the place. First time there I ordered 2 slices of pepperoni and a side salad which was enough for 2 meals. The slices are huge and the side salad is awesome, tons of cheese, olives, peppers and tomatoes. Staff is straight up NYC so in the south they can seem a little rude but after a few visits they either warm up to you or you get used to the bluntness. Either way the pizza rocks!

This just became a close runner up to our favorite pizza place for date night. You have to be a bit creative on how to get the HUGE slices in your mouth, but that's half the fun. Fold it in half like a calzone, cut it up into baby bites, or dive in for a sauce beard... However you eat it the flavor is fantastic. It took about 30 minutes to get our pizza but the cook has a broken wrist and they were understaffed tonight- so all in consideration it was worth the wait. Two huge slices (each slice is equal to two slices on a regular large pizza!!) and one drink costs $6.75, but it costs $0.50 per each topping. Considering the size of pizza, that extra few cents doesn't matter. Honestly, just one order of two slices would have been enough to feed both of us. Another huge perk for those of us who might be a bit OCD about the cleanliness of the kitchen our food is prepared in... You can watch all the magic happen from your seat through the glass wall. From the dough being thrown to being tossed in the oven, you can watch your dinner become a hot, cheesy master-piece. Downside? A bit greasy (note the photo posted of our plate of napkins)- but a little dab here a little dab there... All good!

Extremely great pizza with awesome toppings and delicious crispy crust. The young man (Jon) that owns the establishment is very courteous and accommodating. We had salad, garlic knots and two different types of pizza to get a real feel to how great this pizza is. Also it is a comfortable, small establishment that really captures the atmosphere of a little pizza joint tucked into the fold of a NYC block. We will definitely be coming back!!!!

This place has some of the BEST New York style pizza in the Upstate and the prices aren't bad either! The have some pretty great lunch specials and the two slices with a drink is almost too much for one person to eat in one sitting. The slices are huge and are in fact served on a small pizza tray! My only critiques about this pizza joint is it's a little small and gets crowded quickly at lunch so, get there early!

I discovered Jon's Pizza a few months ago; it is now my go-to local pizza place. Delicious New York style pies. Take the time and say hello to Jon!

Our neighbors from New Jersey told us how Jon's Pizza was THE place for pizza here in the upstate, so we tried it. It was among the BEST PIZZA we have ever had! The crust was amazing, thin, slightly crisp with a wonderful aroma, and the garlic and cheese topping over the decadent tomato sauce was simply delicious. Now we are happily stuffed! This will be OUR FAVORITE pizza restaurant from now on.

We tried this place on a whim - and we are forever spoiled on pizza! It is true NY style, and it is SO good! We drive from Simpsonville for this pizza. Try it out! You won't regret it!!

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
