Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Decor: Awesome! Colorful Mexican murals downstairs, some more artwork upstairs in the bar and on the deck. The patio is covered and also colorful. Food: Yummy. Recommend the tacos (try them all) and the Gringo Rita or Grapefruit Rita. Service: Good, not great. I think this will get better with time. Cons: They allow smoking just off the main deck/patio area. Not cool. Overall: This is a great place to hang out over some margaritas, chips and salsa and tacos with friends.

I'm a big fan of Gringos' taco options. I've tried several types now and they all have been great. My wife tried the shrimp and grits taco which didn't sound appealing to me, but I really liked it when I tried it. The fish tacos are my go-to option and they were great. We requested some spicy salsa which definitely added some heat to the meal. Great drink options as well.

Great experience at the bar. Britt was great. Fish tacos were very good avoid the fried version. Salsa was okay, could be less ketchupy. Look forward to my next visit.

Great new place for lunch downtown -- I had 3 of the many taco options, and they were all delish. Service was also very friendly and timely (unlike what some of the earlier reviews indicate). And the place looks cool. Glad to have a Mexican restaurant that differs from the more traditional offerings in the area. Will definitely return!

Worst service ever! I went to this establishment on the recommendation of a friend. The waiter, whom I am convinced was stoned , took our drink order. 15 minutes later, the drinks arrived, only to be completely wrong. Another 15 minutes went by before the correct drinks arrived. On top of that, we had to ask for a server to wipe off the table top, and it never happened. People seated after us were getting stellar service, and our order was never taken. I'm sure the food is delicious, as many people were there. However, the staff and service could benefit from a complete overhaul. I wish I could give this place 1/32 of a star.

Fresh food. Good addition to downtown restaurants! Only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is the salsa. Not bad, just not the best.

Like the below reviewer, I have no idea where all of these negative reviews are coming from. I've been here four or five times now, some at night, some at lunch, upstairs and downstairs. All of the staff is friendly and attentive, the food is excellent, and I like the atmosphere. It's not typical, cheap, nasty Mexican food. It's good! Couldn't recommend it more.

Loved the decorations and the outdoor seating, But I honestly think I would have had less disgusting food at Taco Bell. The chicken had a horrible aftertaste and the rice and beans tasted old. This was my first and last visit there.

Wow, what a disappointment. Rude bartenders, horrible service, and the food was worse than the first two combined. It was my first and last visit. Also, the couple we came with was their second time and encountered the same problems the first time. Doubt this place will last with this type of service. Save your time and money!

Good tacos. Rough service. Heard the waiter saying to a co-worker "Hey, how do I make this drink again?". He came back to our table and said "What was your order again? Forgot while I was making the drinks"

Best carne Asada tacos of my life! Seriously, they rocked my face off. Great place, great atmosphere, great chill outdoor seating, will absolutely be back

Great, laid back atmosphere. Loved the roasted chicken enchiladas. So much better than the usual mexican spots around town and worth paying a little extra for. And I could actually tell there was alcohol in my margarita!

Went here for a birthday gathering. Pros: Chorizo and potato tacos were really good! Ordered one but was so yummy I ordered another! Grapefruit margarita was delicious. Lots of other taco choices on the menu and everyone said they were all good. Cons: Service was very slow. Server was attentive but it seemed like she went across town to get silverware/drinks because she disappears for about ten minutes everytime we asked for something. Chef - PLEASE COOK YOUR RICE LONGER/WITH MORE WATER! Or taste it at least. How do people eat rock hard rice? It's obviously undercooked! You just cannot serve hard rice! One of my pet peeves - rice is about the simplest thing you could make. I would come back but not order the rice. I have other tacos to try!

I was really looking forward to eating here after watching them build it, too bad the place is such a wreck. My wife and I ate on the rooftop bar which was very nice, but the food is nt very good. The chips were covered in grease. It was more like they scooped a bowl of oil out of the deep fryer and mixed it with a few chips. The salsa was not very good. The guacamole was not fresh, and much worse than any pre-packaged supermarket. The tacos were without any flavor, and they forget to put sauce on them. We had to drown them in tobasco or they would have been inedible. But here is the kicker, they don t have frozen margaritas. They have fake really bad american-mexican food and no frozen margaritas!! The staff was very nice, but not very well trained. It seems obvious that the owners of this place don t really know what they re doing. It s a shame because it quite nice inside, and looks like they tried to make a cool looking place. Maybe they ll let you bring outside food in, lol.

This was a pretty bad meal. The service was super slow and the food was not seasoned at all. I ate with a few other friends that agreed with me. My mom asked for a to-go box and after receiving it noticed it was dirty. It looked as though it had already been used. Unfortunately, I am not planning to give this place another shot. There are other Mexican places in the city of Greenville that are far superior. I highly recommend Papa's and Beer - or if you can catch it - Asada food truck. Their fish tacos are unbeatable.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place.. we've been several times the BBQ pork are my hands down favorite!! I can't even get myself to order anything else. The staff has been great giving you the time you need without making you wait, which I don't find many places. Only thing I would like to see is organic options added to the menu I was hoping for since blueberry frog is :) AND Please try out a wonton shell!! Still the only place I will go for a taco in the downtown!

I have been to this location twice. First, let me say the decor and location are great. Perfect place for a happy hour with friends. My first time here was wonderful - Fast service, a friendly waiter who offered great drink and food recommendations. The second time I was not as impressed with the service. Our waitress seemed more concerned with talking with the bartender than serving us. The food and drinks were great both times. Overall, it is worth a visit.

Pretty lackluster experience. Nice atmosphere and good-but-nothing-special queso dip. Service was painfully slow and the entrees were mediocre at best. I don't eat pork, asked if I could get my taco without the bacon on top. Totally prepared to choose another option. Server said it was no biggie at all, but wouldn't you know it came out (by someone else, 45 mins later , because she was nowhere to be found) with two thick strips of what could only be described as room temp pork jerky. the bacon aficionado at our table took one bite and spat it out. Would give it one more chance just in case the kitchen was having an off night, but pretty disappointed.
