I have stayed at a few Embassy Suites - I'm a Hilton guy. This one is as good as any of the Embassy Suites. But I am reviewing the restaurant, Cafe Verdae. I gave it 4 Stars, but it is close to a 3 star rating. We ordered Bruschetta. It was very good. I had the grilled Salmon. They over cooked my salmon. But my daughter had the rib eye. I tried a bite, and it was real tasty and tender. I had cheesecake for desert; rich and good. Overall they get 4 stars for service, decent food, and not overpriced. Oh yeah, they have a golf course. I might come back.

Stayed here last weekend and had the best time. The hotel suite was clean, we were concerned about noise but in the bedroom you hear nothing. The restaurant downstairs was so delicious. Just a very nice place to stay.

We got tickets to the Hawk and Tom Prom and decided to stay as well. The room was decent, clearly showing signs of it's age, but was still very clean, and had some nice upgrades. Plenty of space for the 4 of us that stayed. The great thing about this place is the service! It was outstanding! We decided to go out and get some beer at around 11 or so. We were walking in the lobby and cardboard case ripped opened and it dropped to the floor. The nice guy and the front desk immediately called housekeeping and gave us a bag for what was left of the beer. Very professional about it and the nice lady with housekeeping refused any help from us and cleaned up the mess. In addition, we called and asked for more sheets and pillows and were promptly given some. The breakfast buffet was very good as well. Lots of choices and it was all delicious. Overall, a great place with nice clean rooms and a very cheerful and accomdating staff.

I was pleasantly surprised by this Embassy Suites. This was my first trip to Greenville, and I wasn't quite sure what to expect. This hotel is surprisingly large and well appointed, and the staff all seemed very friendly. My 5th floor room was startlingly spacious; more of a "suite" layout with a separate bedroom and living room/kitchenette. This worked out nicely. The free made-to-order breakfast is a nice touch, as is the happy hour with nachos, drinks and popcorn.

We stayed in this hotel for 3 days! It Was Glorious!! The bed was like a WISH on top of a CLOUD!! Plush & Soft & Cozy! The staff was AMAZING! The complimentary Breakfast Omelet Station is D'LISH!!

Great location. The hotel grounds are expansive and beautiful. Close to shopping and restaurants. Convenient to major highways. Golf - tennis and swimming all in site. The rooms are recently renovated, and comfortable. Free wifi and breakfast too off the experience. If I can recommend one thing, I wish the doors didn't slam!

The hotel is old (25 years) well taken care of and clean but a little frayed around the edges. THE WIFI DOES NOT WORK CONSISTENTLY! If you come on business, particularly if you are going to stay a weekend, is loud as the hotel is over booked with functions that seem to always include children that are totally out of control. Added to the lack of a usable wifi this creates a situation that is not conducive to either working or even getting a proper rest. Breakfast is reasonable except, again on weekends, you may have to wait half an hour to get served. Have to return to Greenville on business for several months but it will not be here.

Rooms were all remodeled recently. The free breakfast and happy hour are a nice feature. The lobby and meeting rooms are pretty worn and need upgrading. The men's restroom in the lobby had 3 faucets with one completely broken. The staff is somewhat functional. Nobody really stood out as friendly or extremely helpful. They seemed surprised that our meeting of 125 people may require extra staff in the bar. Not really guest focused. Let me give you an example: the breakfast area is completely full with guests enjoying the breakfast buffet. Several dining areas are roped off. No seats available yet the roped off areas are never opened. You wouldn't want to create another area to clean, I guess? Attention to detail is not here. Even the letters in their registration sign above the front desk are crooked.

This really should be a 3.5 five star review. I'm OK with it, but I wouldn't call myself a fan. I don't think I'd purposefully choose this hotel is what I'm saying the next time in Greenville. We stayed here the week for my husband's business trip. Our room was nice, the floor was a little dirty, but the first day, housekeeping vacuumed so it was much better. WiFi worked just great. The space is dated but still pretty. We like the indoor pool/outdoor pool combo. They have a nice fitness room. The complimentary breakfast is huge, with lots of options. You have to get there before 8AM though because it gets too crowded. There were other nice touches like fruit baskets by the elevators and such that were appreciated. Also, there were some events on the weekend we arrived that were clearly kid heavy, but we didn't really notice any obnoxious kid behavior. I suspect that, as with any hotel, sometimes you will have kid-heavy activities and it really is the luck of the draw. I think my issue is with the service. Both my husband and I have had ...hmmm... akward experiences with staff, specifically at the registration desk. We just didn't vibe, and while nothing they said was earth-shattering or explicitly rude, they just gave off a feeling of 'we don't particularly care about you.' This is a problem when, at this point, these people are the only ones I know in Greenville and to whom I would naturally turn to for advice about what to do/see in the area. A concierge service would have been a great idea. I still don't know if there's a concierge or someone else who can help with 'what to do in the area,' but that would help out since the staff didn't appear interested or in the know. We had a great time though without their help, but still, why are the registration staff so disgruntled?

I've stayed here more times than I can recall this year. The rooms are decent and (for the most part) well maintained. Staff is great and always very helpful.

This hotel is nice, but the breakfast service is pathetic. The "free" breakfast was nothing more than some stale eggs and old bacon that looked like dog food. I showed up at 8:45 AM on Tuesday 4/27/11 to order an omelet and the chef told me that "We is closed because they ain't enough people here fo me to stay open." This is absolutely unacceptable in my opinion. I stay at Hilton family hotels more than I live at home and for a top tier hotel like an Embassy Suites to cut corners and act like they couldn't give less of a shit about the customer makes me consider changing to the Marriott or Starwood (Hyatt) chain. If there was a legitimate reason to close breakfast, I would understand. The fact that the guy acted like he didn't care and was inconvenienced by my walking up to the omelet bar was extremely amateur. Other than the lazy "cook", this is a nice hotel that is clean and has LCD TVs with PPV. The bartender and waiter from the previous night were professional and courteous and I have no other complaints about this property. However, it seems like false advertising for a hotel that charges a high rate and prides itself on a free breakfast. Sometimes Diamond status means nothing as is evident here.

Well not a bad hotel, but being a hilton honors member I have stayed in better. The first thing is the wifi is spotty at best. The hot water is not constant as in other hotels I have stayed. The furniture needs to be updated. I won't fully complain as with diamond benefits you do get free rounds of golf everyday. The breakfast and evening reception daily also makes it good. I am just a bit disappointed not upset but I would stay again for the golf.

Have not stayed there, but from what I hear it is a great place!

Desperately needs remodeling. Our room had a broken air conditioner. There were ZERO available power outlets by the bed. Breakfast was the same Sysco crap I used to eat at summer camp. Oh, and it was a 225 dollar room despite all of this. Though I did sort of like the retro Polynesian thing they've got going on in the lobby/atrium and the staff was nice. Long story short, the price tag on this joint is **NOT** a sign of quality. Its a sign of arrogance on the part of its owners. Hope you like one-time customers, morons.

In serious need of remodeling. For the location and prestige of the adjoining golf course and tennis club - the hotel decor and facilities do not do the resort justice. Think 1990 salmon/emerald green with brass and lacquered oak. Get the picture? The bar and restaurant look like a worn down Perkins or Furrs Cafeteria. Again - this doesn't do the resort justice. Shabby but NOT dirty rooms too - just worn for the wear.

My wife and I stayed here from the 11th of October until the 13th of October and could not have had a better time. We arrived earlier than the 1:00pm check in time and because of the hotel being at full occupancy the previous night, a suite was not available. So I told Tracy that we would return around 5:00pm for check in. I also asked Tracy if it were possible to get a remodeled suite and she was kind enough to hold suite 326 for us. The check in process took all of 3 minutes and was effortless. The suite itself was immaculate and spacious. We could not have been more pleased with the quality and cleanliness of the suite. The managers reception which started at 5:30pm had beer, wine, liquors and also sangria which was an unexpected touch. Light snacks consisting of cocktail mix, popcorn and chips and salsa was also available. That evening we at the lobby restaurant and were pleased with the selections on the menu. We opted for an Angus blue cheese burger and a turkey, avocado sandwich (which was overstuffed) and prepared to perfection. We then returned to our suite and enjoyed a movie in the living room compliments of Ellen at the front desk. The next morning we took advantage of the breakfast in the atrium. There was a wide selection to accommodate everyone's taste. Although the hotel appeared to be occupied, the wait at the omelet station was no more than a few minutes. The only thing I would change is it appeared as though the coffee and juices were watered down as both were terribly weak. We spent the day visiting museums in the area and Reedy Falls Park. Later that evening we went to the Olive Garden within 2 miles of the hotel. We then retired to our suite and took the opportunity to watch another movie. The next day, after breakfast, we unfortunately had to return home. Our thanks to the staff (Tracy, Ellen and Rodney) for making our stay at the Embassy Suites most memorable.

Great place to stay. Spacious rooms. Hot breakfast included and happy hour. The chef who works the omelette bar will remember what you want after just 1 day and is always cheerful. My only complaint is that I've stayed here a number of times and for most of those visits I have had problems getting a working internet connection.
(4)Charity R.
Very clean, however don't count on getting a good nights rest. They let the children staying in the hotel run wild in the halls! The entire hotel surrounds the hotel lobby and I'm sure the staff could hear the same door slamming kids yelling and running through the walkways.

Rude manager, and hideous rooms ! Our company had a Christmas party at Embassy Suites. The food was all right, and the wait staff was friendly, but towards the end of the night, the manager came out of no where, charged at a group of 4 of us and said he had been getting complaints about us and that we needed to leave. We were all pretty surprised by this since we hadn't been loud and had just gotten off the elevator. We tried to tell him that he must have been mistaken, but he proceeded to have one of the police officers present ask us to leave. Ive worked in hotels and never witnessed a manager treating guests that way. Aside from that incident , the rooms are cold , incredibly outdated, and feel a bit dirty. I will never set foot in there again. Unbelievable.

We visited the area for a few days and found this hotel provided great comfortable rooms for our family. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful with directions, shuttling to airport, and telling us about the local dining options. Special shout out to Elio for his southern hospitality! A recommendation to housekeeping is to always restock the shampoo each day.

The manager, Michael Heater, and one other employee insulted my wife's competence as a parent and a pediatrician. We called and filed a formal complaint with Hilton against him. How'd this start? We came for a family wedding, all events at the hotel, with our toddler. We didn't bring a carseat because we were taking a hotel shuttle and they are legally exempt from requiring carseat. They refused to take us incorrectly claiming that it was illegal in South Carolina. We called back and corrected them, they said they would send somebody, half an hour later with a tired toddler we called them back and they said they weren't coming. So now we're spending more than the cost of our spare carseat for cabs. It turns out that it's Embassy Suites unpublished policy that no matter the state law they require carseats in shuttles. The rest of the staff was quite helpful and friendly.

I thought this hotel has an abominable policy in terms of food. I was at a group event and had to leave ealy. I had a giant piece of cake that I couldn't eat, and I asked if I could have a container to take it to go. They asked if I was staying in the hotel, and I said I was just there for the meeting, and they said they had to dump it then. It think the Embassy Suites must advocate wasting food if that is there policy. The dessert was already on the table, and I was just trying not to waste it, unless they actually take it off teh tables and reserve it later. One of 6 people go to bed in the US without enough to eat, and I think it is a ridiculous policy.
