This morning's breakfast at Denny's was a shock. Despite my expectation of simple, old fashioned fare I was treated to the best scrambled eggs I have ever eaten. Perfectly cooked and mixed with fresh mushrooms, fresh spinach and the exact amount of cheese for a savory morning meal. Combined with the spiciness of their large link sausage plus the delightful Honey Cake French Toast, I was in heaven. Service was pretty good, our orders arrived in a reasonable amount of time and the Bold Roast coffee was wonderful Sure, it's an older building catering to an older crowd. But as long as they provide a breakfast like this, I will keep coming back

So sad. The food was not that exceptional, at all, for Denny's. They were out of food that we ordered and took it upon themselves to replace it with extra and never asked us if that was okay. Then we had a Denny's coupon-- not expired-- and with their address on it, but when it came time to use it, they wouldn't honor it! Never again!

Moved to Greenville from New York City, and my son wanted to go there for his birthday, as he had never been to a Denny's before. The restaurant had a moldy scent as we entered. The server was polite. The food took forever to be served to us with the poor waiter explaining that only one chef was on call. But the restaurant was nearly empty so that was a poor excuse. When the food came it didn't look like anything on the menu and we did not get everything that we ordered. Looking for the waiter to have the other items brought to us, he had just disappeared for about 15 minutes and the waitress at the table behind us refused to even look at me when I was trying to get her attention. The food did not taste good, the ingredients was of a very poor quality. Extremely disappointed.

Simply and undeniably gross. I ordered a half order of nachos. What I got looked nothing like it did in the menu. The menu had a picture of chille made of meat, beans, bell peppers, and tomatoes on top of crisp, fresh tortillas. What I got was stale tortillas covered in slop made of very greasy meat that was not drained with an occasional onion in it. For the meal, I ordered the pot roast. Everything tasted freezer burned. It was horrendously disgusting. I forced myself to swallow what I could of each item just to get something into my gut and get back on the road. It grossed me out so much that it's 4PM the next day and I still haven't eaten again yet.

It's really hard to be disappointed with something that you have hardly any expectations of, but Denny's did a wonderful job of making sure that happened. Cold eggs, stringy undercooked bacon, lumpy grits... I felt like I was eating food that would be served to prisoners. I didn't expect much, but jeez.

Iama Critic Rating - Denny's - 2 Stars 2521 Wade Hampton Boulevard, Greenville, SC Overall: After my utterly amazing five star experience at Denny's in Anderson, I decided to try my local Denny's in Greenville. So I took three of my favorite foodie friends out at 2am. Big mistake! What a disaster! Horrible service, super slow, like watching snails crawl, and terrible food. And this mind you is after one of my guests told the waitress we were there to review their restaurant! Something I never try to do. From the moment we walked in I knew there was something wrong with this Denny's. After waiting 20 minutes I took my camera out for a walk around the restaurant and fount seven empty, clean tables, half of which were already set up with tableware. Why the heck are my guests waiting when there are tables to sit at. The wait staff is either clueless or careless. They finally give us a booth with a view right into the kitchen. Two chefs at 2:30 am and the restaurant is clearing out fast, so our food ought to at least be fast. But noooooo.... I look around and half the tables with remaining people have no food. I hear the chefs yelling about running out of eggs and other stuff and they are making a Walmart run. A restaurant doesn't just suddenly run out of stuff, they simply don't pay attention to what they are doing. And that is the theme of this Denny's. Complete disorganized chaos that results in a completely different experience from the fabulous Denny's in Anderson. $?.?? - Macaroni and Cheese - 2 Stars Didn't order it so I don't know the price. But this is the sort of disorganized chaos you can expect from this Denny's. Food just shows up that you didn't even order and your food goes God only knows where. $7.99 - Chicken Chorizo Skillet - 3 Stars This skillet looked old and was cold the minute they served it to my guest. And compared to the skillet I ordered in Anderson this was a meager portion! Why did they not at least serve it when it was still hot and fresh? If you have ever had chorizo, you know it is terrible cold. $9.50 - Double Veggie Burger - 2 Stars This disaster is partially my guest's fault. When you order a veggie burger at a chain restaurant you should almost expect it to be processed and horrid. And Denny's didn't disappoint, it was horrid, and came with boring fries as well. Why he didn't order the sweet potato fries is beyond me. $16.79 - T-Bone Steak and Shrimp - 2 Stars I had great hopes for my extremely expensive T-Bone steak order. But what I received was nothing short of an abomination. First they delivered a macaroni and cheese side, which I didn't order. Then they gave me a small cup of seven of the worse pre-packaged salty shrimp I have ever tasted. Maybe they bought them from Walmart, because that it was they tasted like. And then my mashed potatoes arrived, and a few minutes later my steak and sorta grilled squash arrived. Now, because I take pictures of everything I order when I do reviews, I have to wait for over five minutes for all my dinner to finally arrive in various bowls and plate, before I can re-assemble it all onto a single plate for my pictures. So everything would have gotten cold, if it had not been served cold to begin with. And just look at my picture of that horrid, grisly, fat laden cold steak, disgusting! The best thing about it was my dog's sheer delight when I handed her the $17 bone!

My husband and I just moved into the area and I was super excited to have a Denny's again. I had worked at one as a teenager and always enjoyed the food... that is, until now. First, super chewy pancakes. They were out of apple juice, diet soda, and root beer. The orange juice tasted watered down. I asked for extra crisp bacon which got misconstrued to extra-crisp (burnt) hash browns. The meat was left off of my plate and had to be brought separately. All in all, for under $20 for two people, I can't complain too much about the final product. I just expected better.
(2)Nina L.
Our server was super sweet and friendly when we went on Christmas Day, and I applaud them for being open on that day when most places in Greenville were closed. I'll admit - the wait was long: one hour to sit and another for food, but you're gonna get that on a day like Christmas.
(4)Jeremy R.
The food is OK it's close so that's why I come here. It just depends on what say you visit here.
(3)Marissa E.
We went to Dennys which is normally always very good. First off the service was terrible. It took an hour for our food to get there. Then, the food. It wasn't very good by any means. The pumpkin pancakes were ice cold and the hash browns were undercooked. The eggs didn't look like eggs and they screwed up the orders. Worst experience at Denny's I've ever had.
(1)Johnathon S.
They make lousy food and rarely have good service. I've been in the food industry providing service for nearly 15 years. Trust me when I say this place is not good. Top it all off with the fact they don't honor coupons they put out, and rely on the server's to bear the brunt of telling angry customers about it. Went there for the last chance today and had a poor girl tell me she was going to have to quit because people won't tip her due to that policy. Terrible management leads to no customers! Save your money, and go elsewhere.
(1)Gil G.
I knew what to expect from Denny's and they delivered on their promise. The food and service were all fine. Obviously, this is not a gourmet venue, but this location does their job well. Fast and reliable.
