Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

When I want a fried chicken burrito covered in cheese in a huddle of retried beans. THIS is the place to go. It's fast and they're really friendly. Not saying it's comparable to other Mexican restaurant, but what do you expect? If you want cheap Mexican food with fast and friendly service, large portions, and small prices then this is exactly what you're looking for. Perfect for a cold night in or with a margarita (pitcher) in the summer. Just go and love it for what it is like me, ya'll.

I consider myself to be a pretty good judge of Mexican cuisine, and my experience at Corona's Mexican Restaurant on Pelham was absolutely HORRIBLE and the food wasn't good either. The waitress brought stale chips to our table along with two ramekins if watery salsa. The restaurant was not busy and after 20 minutes the waitress returned to take our food order. I ordered 2 soft chicken tacos and my friends placed their food order. The Guacamole Corona was the best tasting food choice. Again, after a very long time the waitress returns with all the food orders except mine. I let the person delivering the food know what I ordered and she left. My friends where nearly finished with their plates when the waitress returns and I asked about my tacos. She mumbled something and left. By the time she returned with my order, my friends had to wait for me to eat. I wish I could say the chicken tacos where good, but I don't care for canned chicken. Horrible service. Horrible food. 1 star is all I can give Corona's Restaurant on Pelham Road. I did however enjoy catching up with friends that I had not seen in a long time. Great conversation and lots of laughs.

As you would expect. They sometimes put potatoes in with the chicken for your quesadilla. The nachos are large so unless you are really hungry, I would recommend the smaller portion. Karaoke night is interesting. Just make sure you are in the mood to hear the young and the old. Brave souls.

Thursday...busy lunch crowd as usual. Several people paying their bill but I was only person in line to be seated. Waited a few minutes. Three big guys walked in and I guess someone noticed them and someone came to seat them immediately. I pointed out I was waiting to be seated...and he told me to wait. No apology..no hold on gentlemen let me seat this lady first....I walked out. I will not cross their doorway again. Many other fast food Mexican options available in town when that craving hits.

This Mexican joint is good for your run of the mill mexican restaurant. Staff was friendly and the chicken fajitas for 2 is enough for 3 or more!

Very ok. You get what you pay for.

I agree with the previous reviewer. Very hit or miss. The bland times are enough to turn me off. Go to a different Mexican restaurant like El Jalisco on Woodruff for similar-but-better food/experiences.

This location of the oh-so-popular, order-by-number, Mexican franchise is hit or miss. While the one on Farris is consistent, you never know what you are going to get with the Pelham Rd restaurant. Service is very spotty and the food is sometimes very flavorful yet often quite bland. Just went a few nights ago and the server completely botched our order, I should have known when he did not write it down and got it wrong twice when trying to repeat it back. That's why you got 12% amigo. Probably time to find a new chips and salsa joint on the eastside.
