Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

I can't believe I am writing this because Chipotle is by FAR my favorite chain. Today I went in and ordered a burrito bowl with steak and some chips on the side. The service was exactly as expected, fast and friendly. The hot stuff was hot, the cold stuff cold and was all fresh. Staff was super friendly. The food was taste as always. However, I like to eat my bowl with some chips on the side to scoop. The chips were nothing but a salt bomb going off in my mouth. I thought maybe 1 got the brunt of the salt so I picked up a few more and it was honestly more like a salt dipped chip than just lightly salted. I still can't get the taste out of my mouth. I hate doing this and as a loyal fangirl, I feel some guilt but those chips ruined it for me. I will save my bowl for later when the salt has left my palate.

This location has sofritas tofu! Right off the highway in a super busy area.

THIS Chipotle is pretty darn good...most of the time. What they NEED to do here is learn how to roll a frickin' burrito. LEARN IT!!! There are a few good rollers here, but some of the new employees need to go back to training. I wonder if they're bringing workers over from the haywood store for cross-training or something. In the last 3 months, the crew has gone downhill a bit. Part of the Chipotle burrito (whether you think it is or not) is how tightly they roll the burrito at the end of the line. It makes it for me. If you can't roll it well, I could just make it at home and save the $$. Love the new tofu "Sofritas"!! Keep it up Chipotle, you're awesome.

Good food but really slow service. The line actually moved faster from people leaving the restaurant than people being served. Good food, but service goes downhill more and more each time I visit. It's a shame because I like the food, but can't afford to wait in line 30 minutes for a Burrito.

Chipotle was ok today. The guacamole actually had flavor this time. The dinner room was somewhat clean this time for a nice change. I still can't give it 5 stars tho, because every time I come, there out of stuff. The root beer this time and there still dealing with there carnitas issue. Half the lightbulbs are still out in the store after months of being out. I guess there going for a candlelight theme. And the bathroom was nasty like every chipotle you go in these days. I feel a clean bathroom is a must for a restaurant like chipotle. There is no excuse for a nasty bathroom when there is no one in your store at 4:30 the place should be flawless and ready for the dinner crowd.

I spoke too soon. Dropped in today and got a burrito along with a side of food poisoning. I guess they are making their food TOO fast!

I found the reason for this location to sometimes be good and not- it's the time! Lunch crew is way better than night. Food taste fresher, it's better served and the staff is much nicer. So if you have been disappointed before, try them again at peak lunch time. It's worth the wait.

On occasion, you will see the slogan "Gourmet with reach" written across the top of a Chipotle receipt, and that is just the right way to describe this "clean-eating" food chain. While technically "fast food", it is more accurate to describe Chipotle's burritos, burrito-bowls, and tacos, more as "slow food served quickly". While a Chipotle burrito is marginally more expensive than a McDonald's combo meal, you consistently get what you paid for. The meats are consistently good and cooked fresh throughout the day, their vegetables additions such as the fajita veggie also add a lot of flavor, and the guacamole is worth the extra dollar and-a-half to add a full serving of vegetables to your "fast food" lunch. The dining room is also clean, with an ambience far beyond its peers in the fast foot industry, and is in fact on level of sit-down restaurants, true to Chipotle's tendency to go the extra mile.

It was my second visit at this particular restaurant during this time time frame of 9 PM. I ordered a veggie bowl. I was upset to know that they were out of something this time also in particularly lettuce and corn. On my first time visit they were out of onions and peppers. So then I complained about this issue to the Host that whenever I am coming during this time frame you guys have always ran out of something. The host replied me back saying, "Maybe I should try coming earlier." I mean is he serious? Is it how one should reply back? If you guys are open until 10 PM, you should have all the items till that time or should have apologized for not having. His behavior was completely unacceptable. I eat at chipotle all the time, i love all the bowls there. But the next time, i wont be going to this particular restaurant just because of this guy.

It used to be too good a couple of back years. Now all you get is a bad service, untrained amateurs serving very less and most of the time they are out of something or the other.
(2)Jim C.
Food was as expected but the restaurant was filthy. I can understand that there's a rush of customers but clean up the place!
(1)Janet W.
Slowest EVERRRR chipotle I've EVER BEEN TO!!! Not enough help or something! Then cashier dropped my water bottle on the filthy floor and picked it up and expected me to take it..ew. Food was great tho!

I've stopped into this location a few times before and had mixed experiences. Our most recent visit during some holiday travel skewed decidedly towards the shitty. They had the D-team on deck and it wasn't pretty. This was the slowest-moving Chipotle line I've ever endured. I mean these bitches were downright stoney - it was like claymation scored with the opening of 'The Blue Danube' watching their painfully retarded motions. The sheer amount of cogitation obviously required of the one lady to equally fill my tacos with overcooked chicken was both sad and hilarious at the same time. When there are 30 people standing in line there should be a sense of urgency and rhythm - none of that here. Also, the restaurant was absolutely wrecked. Tables hadn't been wiped off, there were beans smeared on the floor, and the grossest thing was watching a polite little girl pop out of her restroom, walk to over to the mens, and proceed to take both a handful of toilet paper and handtowels back into the ladies. She was walking a little funny - had she discovered the sorry state of this shithole mid-business? And yeah, my bathroom was disgusting and covered with trash. I am generally a fan of Chipotle but this location really needs to step up its game.

Absolute worst service I ever experienced in a restraunt. I myself currently work in a restraunt and it was horrible.
(1)Rene B.
I have eaten at this location for years but in the last few the restaurant has really gone down hill. Today was our last day eating there. No forks, no ice machine, no tea and no beverage machine. This location really needs to get its act together.
(1)Chris R.
Haven't been to Chipolte's in about 15 years. Stopped because I was hungry. Had the sofritas soft shell tacos. Aren't tacos supposed to be warm? The tortilla didn't taste like a real one...hard to miss that boat. You may want to try a real flour tortilla from an authentico place. I don't have a clue why folks like this place!
(2)Christian S.
This place is so bad. I ordered a chicken quesadillas but they charge me for a burrito. Apparently you can't put more than 1 item on the quesadilla. The salsa has no flavor, they didn't even cut my quesadilla in half. So it was very awkward to eat. They only put in an aluminum paper and when I tried to cut it juice started flowing on the table. not to mention my wife had too listen to me complain until we finally left. You get a small amount of chips everything is extra. Never going back
(1)Cory M.
Ok. Still really bad. It's lunch rush and on person is working the line?!?! Stupidity at its finest.
(3)Richard C.
My family and I used to go to chipotle every Friday but the last two visits have been disappointing and I left unhappy. The food is really good but the service and portion size is very inconsistent. The amount of meat I got on my burrito made me think it was the last cow on earth and they were trying to save some for everyone. The burrito for the customer in front of me was so big they could barely wrap it and mine looked like it came off the kids menu. I really wanted to give it another chance but I have now left twice in a row with the feeling that I did not get what I paid for. I think Moe's will start getting my money.
(2)Matt W.
This place started in Denver, CO (where I grew up) and I was psyched when it came to Greenville. I had tried Moe's (blah) and Salsarita's (OK) but neither compared to good ol' Chipotle. It's by no means authentic, but it is simple (menu has about 6 things) and tastes great. They make HUGE burritos (small football size) that are a challenge to eat in one sitting (for some people). I highly recommend trying this place out. I'm sure it's not for everyone, but give it a try and see.
(5)Sam S.
I know this is not authentic Mexican but I love Chipotle. The fact they seem to care about their ingredients is a a nice touch also. Always fast and never a bad experience. I used to go there multiple times a week in Ann Arbor and was thrilled when they built one in Greenville. They did raise their prices though but oh well... I still go.
(5)Matthew B.
My favorite fast casual place. Most all of the staff recognizes me and they are nice and do an excellent job with prepping my meal. Love the new patron margaritas too.
(5)Joe S.
It's Chipotle, where the huddled masses eat. You are reminded of how you're saving the planet, and the eclectic music is sometimes too loud. Can't get past the expensive guacamole. It will do in a pinch.
(3)Aaron C.
I love this place! Always have.... Always will
(5)Chris G.
Great place for fast Burritos. Whole family loves it here. Love the simple menu and portions for what we think is reasonable price. I was so pumped when the came to Greenville, now if they would just open one in Spartanburg we would be all set. So much better than Moe's.
(5)Dan B.
Nothing special more expensive than the other guys. The brown rice had a good flavor. If you want to be constantly reminded how good your doing for the environment and don't mind paying a premium for them to do so then this place is for you. The prices are the same as Moe's or Barberitos, but you have to pay extra for Chips and salsa and other stuff that is included with the other guys. I give it a solid "Meh"
(2)Allison F.
Chipotle has taken a bit of a tumble. My "carnitas" tacos were stellar as usual, but this time the guacamole was stringy and on the verge of turning brown. Fresh avocados and a generous dose of lime juice would most likely do the trick.
(4)Sylvia F.
Every time I find "Chipolte's", I make a point to go. LOVE LOVE the food. We went in and it was jammed packed. We did get through the line relatively fast, and by the time we needed a table, people had cleared out. It was extreamly loud inside the building, but as chipolte's go it was not out of the norm.
(3)An N.
Great food! Even at 3:30 when I went, when usually places don't have the freshest food. Had to wait at the end for the chaser guy to come. And everyone on the line just kept yelling for him. They should probably try walking back and finding him. But other than them being lazy, haha, it was great!!
(4)Pat S.
This is the dirtiest restaurant I have ever been in. Tables, floors and counters. Health dept needs to visit
(1)Brooke C.
I normally enjoy Chipotle but the service I received today was pretty poor. I had asked for pinto beans mixed in with black beans in the burrito bowl that I had ordered. Instead of informing me that they were out of pinto beans, the girl just pushed my bowl onto the next person without saying anything to me. The food didn't taste $10 good (Didn't taste fresh) and almost every table was dirty. I don't think I'll go back to another Chipotle. I could've spent $10 on better tasting food elsewhere.

I'm a huge fan of Chipotle overall, however, my experience at this particular location was unacceptable. We arrived around 11:15am on a Sunday. There were quite a few people already in line ahead of us. The line was moving slower than normal. The fajita veggies were not prepared yet, nor was the medium salsa. If you open at 11:00am, then you should have your food ready at 11:00am. Multiple people were having to wait 10-15 minutes for their order (this is not a cook to order restaurant). We usually eat medium salsa with our chips, but just opted to do without, since it was not ready. I thought they would offer to bring some to our table once it was prepared, but no, they said we could come back and get some after it was ready. We were done with our meal by that point. We also had to ask for a tray to carry our food to our table. It just seemed like the employees had no idea what they were doing.

I'm not sure why some people love this place so much. I always hear people say how cheap it is, but really you can eat at some pretty good Mexican restaurants in town for the same price. Furthermore, across the street in The Shops At Greenridge is Salsarita's restaurant, which is the exact same setup and around the seame price, but Salsarita's is definitely better. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's horrible. If I were with friends and they wanted to go there I wouldn't argue, it's decent food. But the fact is Greenville has great dining for a town this size, and there are tons of places I would pick before I chose to eat here.
(2)Mark W.
Awful they were out of Rice and Guacamole and chips and all they had was chicken I mean really ??? I will never ever come here again no wonder their business has gone down the toilet. I don't know who runs this location but they need to be fired ASAP
(1)Derek M.
Okay taste. Terrible rolling. I will volunteer my time to teach you how to roll a burrito. I've been enjoying Chipotle for over 10 years and this is not up to par.
(2)Sylvia Y.
When I sincerely miss Guadalajara mexican restaurant in Davis Ca, Freebird burrito in Santa Barabara Ca, El Farolito in San Francisco Ca, I end up here. It's not as good as any of those mentioned above. But it gets the job done. mission style burrito. *sigh* come on Chipotle... can you work on the spanish rice and offer pico de gallo on the stand so people can add more on their burrito? *sgh*
