We had a great time. The show was a lampoon of the history of Greenville. We laughed most of the way through the program. Dinner was good. My wife had the Cajun grill. I had two appetizers, fried green tomatoes and chicken tenders (I ordered one of the soup de jours thinking it was an entree, but there was enough food that I didn't bother to correct the error). We also had the apple crisp for dessert. All were very good. I especially liked the pimento cheese for the fried tomatoes. Some details that may help. Dinner seating is from 6:30 to 7:30. We arrived at 6:30 and were seated in the front row. I had made reservations so that may have helped. There is seating for just the show from 7:30-8:00. I noticed many came just before 7:30 and ordered appetizers and or desserts. The cost was @$150 for appetizers, 1/2 doz bar drinks (3 each), entrees, dessert, 20% tip, and the show for two. I don't know if that is pricy or not. You could save by coming later and just ordering appetizers. A previous post noted that the appetizers are enough for a meal. We had a great time. My wife said she can't wait for their next new show.

My wife and I recently celebrated by watching another great show at C.A.T.S. We normally see 3 or 4 shows a year and have enjoyed them all. There are some which we have enjoyed more than others, but they have all been entertaining. Wet didn't eat on this occasion but those auld is send to enjoy their appetizers, entrees, & desserts. The show was in its early stages, where they are still learning their lines and ad libs abound (we think that these are the funniest shows); they give you passes to return when the slow is polished.

Fun, fun, fun! Grab some friends and head over for a night of laughs, dessert, wine. They also serve dinner as well. Support this local business!

This place is alot of fun. It is my usual place I go for my birthday and special occasions or just go for a good laugh. The crew are hilarious and pretty much treat you as family. it can be a little pricey but if you hit just right it will be less. It is worth the trip. The Chicken strips are huge so it can make a meal. Be prepared for your sides to hurt because you will laugh your butt off.
I don't like having to admit when someone else is right. Before moving to Greenville, the furthest South I'd ever lived was Boulder, CO. In other words, I've had little experience with the South or Southerners (other than my husband). When we first moved here, I saw Cafe and Then Some and said "we should go there sometime!". His response was "you should live here a while first...a lot of the humor is very regional". Well...he was kinda right; but only kinda. Yes, a lot of the jokes are regional, and it helps if you have some local knowledge (like what the Pointsett Club is). If you don't have that knowledge, though, they provide a "cheat sheet" of terms/places used in the show. On top of that, the shows are just plain FUNNY...local knowledge or not. The actors really interact with the audience, and do a lot of improvisation during the show. We had dinner here before the show, also. It was a bit rushed...obviously trying to get all the dining completed before the show, but it was really good. The menu features Southern-is dishes. The portions were huge. Both my husband and I had a full meal's worth of food left over to take home. So whether you're a G-ville native or new to town, Cafe and Then Some is well worth a visit.

This place was a nice surprise. We wanted something different to do on a Saturday night and we heard this place had a dinner show. The show was hilarious, they had the Miserable and boy did I laugh. We had to make a reservation but watch out because they do not open until after 3pm so we barely made the list since we called Saturday at 3pm. They have the option of dinner or no dinner, the dinner starts at 7:30pm and the show started at 8:15pm. We had the dinner, however if I had to do it again I would skip dinner and just come for dessert and the show. The dinner menu was good, however the food was not too great for the price. I ordered chicken fingers and they were SUPER greasy, we ordered a salad and the bacon vinagrete was so greasy too. We ordered another dressing it was so bad. The rest of the meal was ok, but for the price we could have eaten a better meal somewhere else. The staff was friendly and very helpfull however you could tell they were short staffed because 3 different people asked if we were being helped, which is better than no one. I gave this place 4 stars just for the dessert and the show... if the dessert was bad then it would have gotten 3 stars..... the show definitely made up for it. The tables closest to the stage are kind of long so if you have a small party you may get seated very close to other people but you are close to the stage which is nice since they don't use microphones. There's also an upstairs seating area but I didn't go up there so I wouldn't know. I would come back for the show and dessert for sure !

Local dinner theatre like nothing you'll see anywhere else. Very local humor performed by incredibly funny people. Don't worry about not being in on the joke if you're not up on local issues, they always leave a cheat sheet on the table so you can bone up on your inside jokes before they regale you with outrageous characters and hysterical song parodies. The food is nothing particularly special, but not bad. Make sure to order your insane cookie dessert before the show. It will be delivered at intermission and will put you into a sugar coma. Seriously... this thing is amazing. The shows are written by the Cafe crew themselves... and are an awful lot of fun. Early in the run of a show, the actors will still be carrying their scripts... which is a lot of fun for the audience to watch them in the earlier stages of developing the show. Later in the run, the fun is different as the actors have reached a level of comfort that allows them to play with each other and ad lib all over the place. They run shows until they stop selling... so you have the opportunity to go when you have time rather than on the tight schedule of a traditional 3 week theatrical run.

A single word, Awesome!!! This is a great night out and very unique to the area. Much of the comedy is based on current goings on in the Upstate area. It can be a little expensive depending on whether or not you dine or just take in the show and how much you like to drink. However, it is a blast. It is comfortable and the food is enjoyable. It is a very interesting and personal environment for the theater. Be prepared to laugh your ass off. All in all, I think the show is definately the highlight of the evening so I suggest skipping diner. If so, eat lite to save cash. The show usually starts between 8:30 and 9:00. So if you want dinner, make reservations for 7 or 7:30. You have to order before 8:00. The admission is $12 or $13. This is not discounted if you have dinner. The show is a few hours long with an intermission. Thursday night is smoke free. Other nights the smoke can seem overwhelming. Visit their website: cafeats.com

If you're looking for something fun to do this Christmas season, grab some friends and go see Karaoke Christmas at the Café and Then Some. I haven't laughed so hard in a long time! The ladies especially, and gentlemen who are a part of this comedy troop are just hilarious. We went for the show and dessert, which is served at intermission by fast and friendly wait staff. Be sure to eat a light dinner before going and then try the Homemade Sin, a big, warm chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce, and crushed peanuts. Be prepared to share this monster-sized delicious treat!
