The food was good. I got a chicken red curry and came with a choice of white or brown rice. The service was friendly and the atmosphere was calming and cozy. My only compliant is that no one greeted us at the door when we walked in, there were waiters and hostess that walked past us, there still plenty of seats open and no line aka meaning they were NOT busy. When seated, the food preparation took way too long. One more thing, the menu did NOT specify which items are spicy. I dont mind if mines was spicy but my friend got a noodle soup and cannot handle spicy food got a spicy soup. It did not specify anywhere that it was spicy. They need to update their menu.

Granted I went at lunch time around 1 pm and the place was absolutely dead. Server (owner?) asked if I wanted the buffet. I looked at it. Mostly empty dishes and scattered noodles. "I'll take a menu". She responded, "Good idea!". Which was pretty awkward considering she offered the buffet. Ordered Tom Yum soup with shrimp and Pad Thai. Soup was just sloppily put together with broth and button mushrooms you get at BiLo. Pad Thai was under seasoned but decent. I was asked for spices after I started eating. I know Pad Thai isn't a traditional dish, but if you cant get it right, chances are you cant make anything else either. I've had WAY better thai food in Spartanburg. Haven't yet found a good thai place in Greenville. Thai Taste, Bangkok Cafe, and Lime Leaf still top the charts for me.

No wait. Nice ambiance. Food came out rather quickly as restaurant was empty. Sushi appeared fresh. I'd probably never order the crab Rangoon again, but other than that it was great. Used an Amazon deal.

If I could put zero stars, than I would put that. I seriously don't know how this place is still open. We went on a Friday night and there were only 3 other tables there. Our server was overly odd and didn't know the food/drink menu very well. Our food came out and my girlfriend's beef teriyaki was very tough. She sent it back and ordered the chicken. I also had issues with my dish. One of the sides was supposed to be your choice of veggies and it didn't come out on his plate. We told our server and he brought the owner over. She got an attitude toward us and grabbed the plate and walked off. She walked back and we told her we were going to go and she started yelling at us to leave. She kicked us out even started yelling "f**k you, f**k you, get out!". So we walked out and then she started yelling at us outside. We have never been treated so badly!!!!

I was really disappointed. I ordered take out and walked into pick it up and the place was empty but looked very adorable and trendy. Since moving to Greenville I have avoided seeking out Thai for fear of being disappointed and sadly my fears came true. The crab Rangoon was essentially just canned crab in a fried wanton. The pad Thai was flavorless. The only redeeming dish was the chicken satay appetizer. The peanut sauce was tasty and spicy and the chicken was lean and cooked well. Won't be going back but I'm bummed about it.

I had the calamari and nam tok salad. The calamari was okay I think they may have cooked it longer and it wasn't a lot for $8 ..barely and handful. The nam tok salad was my main dish and it was not spicy enough and just sour, since I was hungry I are most of it. The service is pretty good though.

I have never had a more unpleasant dining experience in all my life. We arrived and were sat with menus. We admired the atmosphere. Watched the staff, seemed a little unorganized. Waited 5 minutes before drink order taken. Looked over the menu and waited another 5 minutes to get drinks. We didn't let him leave before taking our appetizer order."Sorry it took me so long to return"' 5 minutes before he came back to take entree order. half of our appetizers came out. Waited 10 minutes for one entree. still waiting for remainder of apps. Asked to speak to the manager. She came out GUNS LOADED. (apparently she was ready for any complaint we had, obviously used to unhappy guests) We were forced to pay for the food on the table, no problem. I feel badly for those who reviewed 4-5 stars. Either they work at Bon Thai or they deserve to eat at establisments that provide better service.

Food was good, we both had Thai. Service was attentive (if not a little overly friendly). Server/owner recommended Chang beer, it was delicious. Would absolutely go back & next time may try the sushi.

Ate here on a Friday afternoon at about 1:00 p.m. Was greeted at the door promptly and asked if we were having the buffet. As we walked to our table, the greeter said what was on the buffet, including sushi. Not many places offer that on their buffet. We were anxious to get started. Restaurant is pleasant, clean and inviting. Nice dishes and silverware. Buffet table is down the middle of restaurant. NOT BUSY for this time of day right off of busy Woodruff Road. When we approached the buffet line most all of the serving dishes were empty except for a handful of spring rolls, soup, rice and small dishes of crème Brule dessert at the end of the table. The sushi boat had three pieces of sushi left. My spouse did not get ANY. We ate our spring rolls, sushi and crème Brule and waited for them to bring other items. Slowly, they brought more spring rolls, pad Thai, chicken curry and another chicken dish. No sushi was ever brought to the buffet nor more dessert. Our assumption was that they were still preparing more sushi (like the other dishes). We continued to eat other items waiting. We noticed a couple plates of sushi being brought out to other customers. My spouse commented that we probably need to order some sushi if we wanted some. Why order it? It was supposed to come on the buffet. No one ever came to our table and explained that no more sushi was being made. Since all other items were being replenished on the buffet table, why would we assume that the sushi would be any different? That was part of the reason we went there in the first place. Since this was my spouse's first time here, no one inquired if we needed anything special (for dietary reasons) or what the process of the buffet line. In fact, no one came back to our table for service reasons until it was time to present the bill. Then the server poured more water, but never asked how was everything. Very inexperienced server or lacked training. This buffet is not cheap and when you walk in your expectation is that all items will be on the buffet. You shouldn't be walking up to a buffet line that is nothing but empty dishes and a sushi boat that never gets refilled. When we arrived, if we were told that the buffet only ran until 1:00 p.m., then we would have made a choice to stay or go somewhere else. Once food arrived, it was hot and good, but only a few select items were made and served based on what the kitchen wanted to prepare; not what is advertised to customers. Very disappointing. I don't know if I would return.

Cold Soporo! Delicious crab ragoons! Polite and non-intrusive service. Owner lady is so cute, accompanied by a couple of super-sweet girls. On top of it. Can't believe they have been here for 5 years and I am just now discovering it. Have heard ravs on the lunch buffet. Can't wait to come back during the day. Price point is nominal. Steamed gyoza, delicious. Took a bit longer than expected. Shrimp pad Thai, wonder. Perfect balance of sweet meets spicy. Shrimp cho chee, super curry. Super coconut. Everything is just absolutely wonderful. Portions are not too big, not too small. Highly recommend the beer named Chang. Large bottle, so good for sharing. Similar to a wheat beer, with a slightly sweet finish. Thai doughnuts: a heaping pile of little dough balls covered with chocolate syrup. Heavenly.

Very good Thai restuarant, but not easy to find unless you're looking for it. We bought a Restaurant.com gift certificate and decided to try this place out. Walking in, the place is nice looking, greeted by friendly staff. Seated right away. The place wasn't crowded, but not surprising given the "off the beaten path" location. We ordered Chicken Red Curry, Pad See Ew, and the Caliente Roll. All absolutely excellent. Food was delivered promptly and was delicious. We will definitely be back. Thanks for a great meal.

Driving through Greenville on a Friday night , found this place on Yelp. Every where was a zoo, so in spite of mixed reviews we gave it a try. Quiet, peaceful, food was excellent, tofu pad Thai, Tom yum soup and tuna tataki were all very good. Green tea in generous cup was delicious and reviving. Slightly ditzy waitress could not remember who ordered what, but was very sweet. Thumbs up.

My boyfriend and I ate dinner at Bon Thai this week. Since we had a Groupon, we decided to try a variety of items from the menu. We started with tuna tataki and then we shared an order of pad kee mao and several sushi rolls (hamachi roll, unagi roll, spicy tekka roll). We also ordered chicken red curry to go. The noodle and curry dishes were very tasty. We ordered mild and medium to try the spice levels--we found that in both dishes the spice level added to the flavor (I hate when food is so spicy that you can't taste it). The portions were large enough to share. I would not recommend Bon Thai's sushi. The sushi was decent and was good enough to share as a side to our main dishes because they were a bit small and overpriced for what you get. I would go to another restaurant if all I wanted was sushi. The service was very good and the food arrived in a timely manner--although I should mention that we were one of only a few tables when we went. Our server was friendly and helpful and made us feel comfortable. We want to try Bon Thai again for the lunch buffet that everyone is talking about--I think that the buffet will make the food more worth its price (this is why I give 3-stars instead of 4-stars).

I have to say I'm a bit surprised by the 4 and 5 star reviews ---------------- I went in for lunch because of all the great comments; the wait staff was not friendly at all, I guess it was a bad day? Wow. Worst customer service ever! Waited 1 hour for food, and when it finally came one entree was still missing. We had to physically chase down a server to tell them that we still did not have our complete order. We waited another 30 min for that entree. Meanwhile we did not get offered any drink refills. We asked about a discount for the wait and was told that the the long wait to order, then the long wait for food, then the mess up with the order was not their fault since it was a weekend night and they were not prepared for the crowd. By the way, the restaurant wasn't even half full of patrons. They did everything to ensure that me, nor my companions will ever return to this establishment.

Wow great lunch Buffet, ... don't let the strip mall location scare you ... ...you won't regret eating here.. Fresh Sushi, Red and Green Curry Thai, Hot Soup, Fresh Asian salads and even desert, all whit their own dish appropriate plates dishes and utilizes. The won me over with their attention to fresh quality food and attention detail, you fell more like you are eating at a really nice Asian place where you can just go in the kitchen and get what you want, there are no heat lamps on the buffet! For example the Fried Rice, its short grain and sticky like it should be with fresh vegetables and fried egg mixed in .. as good as table side fried rice at a Japanese steak house IMO. The Green Thai is my favorite meal dish not to spicy but hot enough to know its real Thai curry. Today I discovered the Pad Thai noodles as well but I was almost too full to enjoy them. The have a wide variety of Asian dishes available all seem fresh with lots of meat in them. The lunch price is $9.95 WELL worth it.. .top .. quality. I will be making this a regular lunch stop, and no I have no financial interest in this place I just want to vote for what I like with social media.

Greatest pad Thai in Greenville County! Wonderful service with a smile, good portions and excellent food. Located right off of Woodruff Rd, close to Whole Foods. Check it out!

Terrible food, Small Portion, over priced. Hostess is RUDE! I would not recommend at all.
(1)Katherine P.

(1)Erin B.

Heavenly.

Extremely rude owner! Do not waist your $ or time. I will not waist my time telling you more about our Horrific experience. Please, this place should not let the owner talk to Customer!!!! The end.

(3)John S.
I have to say I'm a bit surprised by the 4 and 5 star reviews ---------------- I went in for lunch because of all the great comments; the wait staff was not friendly at all, I guess it was a bad day? The buffet was presented well, but the food was not fresh; soup was luke warm, egg rolls were soggy, other dishes were just not very inviting. I'll find another Thai place for lunch next time.
(2)Robin W.

Loved this place in it's many incarnations - Siam Oishi to Bon Thai and I have to say I like the variety. I know, I know....restaurants should have small to-the-point menus but Bon Thai's Japanese/Thai fusion is awesome when you just can't decide if you want one or the other.

Walked in at 2:15, and was told they stop serving at 2:30. I said, fine- I can go elsewhere if it's a problem, but the server said No, sit, stay. I sat a few minutes, then a woman (the owner?) came out with a rag, and while wiping down the buffet, said "You have to go. I'm closing; I'm leaving." This would have been fine if she'd been gracious about it before they sat me, but Get Out, We Don't Want Your Business makes me think they don't want any business at all. Lack of any grace whatsoever gives them 1 star.

Me and my girlfriend went here last year. The place is nice, staff friendly, but sushi was just ok. We ordered 4 rolls, we blinked and there they were. The spider roll had a taste of old grease in the fryer. The other rolls were pretty good, but not as good as Yu Raku Tei in Mauldin. Probably won't visit this one again.

Walked in after finding this place. Prompt greeting and obtained a menu for orderig to go. Placed my order and the hostess had us sit down at the bar while we waited. That's where the trouble began. We waited a good 20 mins before anyone even spoke to us again. When we were approached, the guy asked did we want to order something. We stated we already ordered to go and have been waiting alittle bit. He stated he would find out. He comes back, verifies our order, returns 10mins later and says the sushi "chef" has started the order an he will be awhile. At this point we have been waiting for 30mins. Mind you this place was no where near packed and is not only a sushi restaurant. I told fiance they have 10 mins and then i'm walking out. With 2 mins to spare my to go order was ready. The guy gives us our order, appologizes and says have a good night. But we didnt even pay! Me being a good hearted person, i told him and then paid. Fiance remarked about our long wait (40mins) and the guy gets defensive and says the sushi "chef" was "slammed" with orders. Remember. They werent busy at all. We get back to the hotel. Presentation was alittle lacking. Roe wasn't spread over all my sushi. Pieces were cut in uneven sizes. Rolls were not tightly rolled and just sloppy. Taste was 5/10. I would never go back there even if i lived here. Be warned!

We have been to this restaurant twice and both times we would give it a 5 Star rating (my little neice said she would give it a 10 if she could).
