I really love Sweet cupcakes! The cupcakes are fairly light, so not heavy in your stomach and not too much frosting. I've tried 5-6 varieties. I will say that a few of the filled cupcakes were a little TOO sweet for me, so keep that in mind if you're really sensitive to sugar. As others have said, the cupcakes are not cheap, but they do offer the occasional deal like checking in on FourSquare, and they make a lot of donations around the community, so I don't feel bad about spending money there to help a local business that helps others. The staff goes out of their way to help you and are nice to talk to when you're sitting in there eating cupcakes.

Best cupcakes in the country -- and I travel all over for work. Unique flavors, rich taste and texture, and can tell are made with care and attention to detail. Always a stop when Im in or near Florence. Just one gripe...the staff are all rude 20-something princesses. Very unfriendly and seem put out by having to help you.

Great cupcakes. Very clean and wonderful environment. The Cookies & Milk Cupcake they offer on Thursday is the best cupcake I have ever tried. Brown sugar cupcake with chocolate chips , topped with a cookie dough buttercream! You will not be disappointed!

Over priced for everything in the shop it was clean and looked nice but, if I'm gonna pay 3 bucks for a cup cake it needs to be a big one not the size if a small one!

I got a special cupcake for St. Patrick's Day. It was chocolate with buttercream frosting and I think whiskey was mixed in. I love that there wasn't a ton of frosting, just enough. But I agree with other reviewers here. It was dry. A dry, small cupcake for $3.25. Florence, you can do better. Even if you made your own.

I don't really like cupcakes but I like to look at the places and bake them myself. I like the way these places are set up and it is cute as a button on a chipmunks's fedora! That said, tartan blue, the Burris, cinnamon, what's up doc and the key lime are worth the calories. I love the clever names too. It's better presentation. The flavors are true and obvious without a sickening amount of frosting. Oh and the banana one. I've never had one of the staff be snarky or short or unpleasant. One of my favorite treats now.

Cupcakes are pretty good a little on the dry side but still good; the icing is really good! The staff was friendly and inviting when I took my nephew for a little treat and the atmosphere is very nice inside the shop. I also liked how they had little milk bottles that you buy then they recycle.

I have a degree in baking and pastry and was absolutely unimpressed with the quality of the cakes when I visited Sweet. The atmosphere was nice and the cupcakes were cute but the cakes were unbearably dry. I got a family reunion cupcake, as well as a confused cupcake. Even with the tiny little bit of pastry cream inside the cake, the family reunion cupcake was still dry and crumbly. The next day I tried the other cake, maybe it was because it was from the day before but it was still very dry as well. I don't mind paying for quality but $3 is definitely way too much for what they are putting out.

This place has a really great staff and awesome cupcakes. The cupcakes are 3 dollars a piece (which is steep in my opinion) but they're great as a once in a while treat. They are super rich and super sweet though. I'd almost say that half of the cupcake is actually icing so I usually end up splitting one with the hubby. They have a nice variety of flavors but my favorites are the Family Reunion (think banana cream pie) and the Key West Coconut. They have a menu on their website with the schedule for their flavors but I haven't had a bad cupcake there yet. Again, just remember that they are really sweet and incredibly rich. I'd think twice before giving one of these cupcakes to a child. I imagine the sugar rush would be epic.

I have to agree with previous reviews. Cupcakes are very dry. I would happily pay $3 for a good cupcake but my chocolate cupcake was a dry crumbling mess and not worth the money spent.

OMG...This may be the best cupcake I've ever had!! I didn't know it was even possible to make a cupcake this good, and I'm picky. $3 for a cupcake may seem steep to some people, but I happily pay it for something that is this much better than anything else around. Wonderful amazing staff! One night they even unlocked their doors to sell me a cupcake 17 minutes after they'd closed. What restaurant ever does that??? This place is always clean, consistently friendly, and seems to always be busy. I think this little cupcake joint can teach every restaurant in Florence a thing or two about quality and service.

How can you go wrong with cupcakes. Most of us remember them as a staple when celebrating a classmates birthday in elementary school. This was my first visit. Purchased half a dozen as a gift for friends. The bakery is visible and watching the staff try to keep up with demand was interesting. They were not keeping up at all. The selection on the shelves was bare. Very disappointing. The girls behind the counter were friendly greeters but lost track of how many people were waiting for service. You can eat in, so next time you are meeting someone for coffee, think about this place and add a cupcake. The size was disappointing. They serve the normal size cupcake, just like mom. Many specialty bakeries serving cupcakes offer the Jumbo or super size, in my experience. As many have noted, one cupcake is $3.00.

Great presentation, friendly staff, but food is just okay. I walked in the door and I really liked this place. Decor is nice... it's great to see a place that put's itself above Florence's standards. Cupcakes were dry, but the frosting was good. Nice to see a place locally that makes a decent butter cream frosting. Prices are steep for Florence (they charge the same price for a cupcake as Magnolia Bakery in NYC where the cupcake trend started).
