I was very disappointed with our meal. We ate here last night and the service was beyond awful. The waitress failed to bring us silverware, drink refills or napkins. She was standing at our table drinking a drink asking us if we wanted tea when both of our glasses were clearly empty. We ordered an appetizer that came out after our food. We asked for a fire roll of sushi which comes out on fire and she brought us the wrong sushi. I asked her if she was sure that was the right dish and she was adamant that it was. I explained that it typically has come out on fire, would she mind double checking. She huffed and said I'll check. Comes back and tells us we were right they're making it now. I ordered the chicken seasame for my main course and it was improperly plated. She told me I was wrong when I asked her why I had no pineapple, zucchini or grilled onions. Then after checking the menu, she yelled across the restaurant "oh, sorry..you were right." Instead of bringing me the missing items, she comes back and asks oh do you want them to put them on the grill? To top off our experience, the restaurant was overly noisy. A table of teenagers was extremely loud and rude. Never once did the waitress ask them to be considerate of others and tone it down. Needless to say, what used to be one of our favorite places to eat has quickly become a place I don't care to dine at again.

I enjoy the food I get here but I definitely feel things have and are still going downhill from recent years. Service is not good at all. I don't ever eat inside because of that. If I get food it's from drive thru.

Every time I visit Florence, I have lunch with my sister at Sakura. We don't just go there because it's convenient (it's not far from my sister's workplace), but the food is real good as well! The lunch rush normally hits at about noon. It gets crowded, but there are always plenty of seats available from what I've seen, so no need to break your neck to get there in time. There's plenty of seating...a bar area up front, plus a full dining area on the other side. I always order some type of sushi roll, and they are always pretty decent. The service is good, the people are friendly...there's nothing more that I could ask from Sakura. My sister always gets some type of steak dish with rice. She likes to put a lot of some kind of sauce on her dish...I have no idea what it is, but she seems to like it a lot, so I trust her and I will recommend it! LOL I really think that their miso soup is some type of chicken broth though...I could be wrong, but that's what it tastes like. It's worrisome, but it didn't bother me too much, maybe because I was visiting family and wasn't really concerned. Like I said, I could be wrong about that though, but it did look and taste like chicken broth, so Vegans be careful. If you are ever in Florence and need some sushi, this is one of the 2 spots that I recommend! (The other being Miyami)

I definately would not go back to this place. Very unsanitary (cockroaches in the dining area). When we tried to discreetly let the manager know, she was completely unapologetic, indicating the acceptance of low standards. Not what I am looking for in a sushi restaurant.

When I first moved to Florence, I went searching for a good Japanese hibachi place that didn't involve sitting around a giant grill amidst a din of clanking metal and airborne food. I was happy to find this place because the food was good, the prices were reasonable and the portion sizes were good. They offered a nice variety of hibachi dishes like red snapper and grouper. However as time went on, everything went down hill. On my last visit, which was months ago, I decided not to waste my time and money here anymore. The fish I ordered was cold but burnt to a crisp, the rice hard and dry, and the sushi was a sad roll that fell apart on the plate. To add insult to injury, the service was terrible. I don't know if the manager was out or what but we saw our server maybe 3 times throughout the night. More so we saw her the whole time, leaning against the bar and texting while talking to someone from the kitchen while our drinks went unfilled and our food cooled on the counter near her. And it wasn't as if it was busy either. There was one other table with us. That's it. The main reason I'm giving it a two star rather than a one is because I did have good experiences there once upon a time. Maybe they'll improve in the future but I'm not willing to go back anytime soon.
