Stumbled on this Mexican joint when we were meeting up with friends, so I'm really lucky considering how good the food was! Chips they brought out were warm, and they give 2 different sauces to dip. Queso was okay. Service was very prompt and friendly. The enchilada plate I got with rice and beans was so...good. I inhaled it. Now the frozen raspberry margarita was sadly a different story. Very delicious, yes. But I am a lightweight. So when I drink a whole margarita and hardly feel a buzz, that means there was very, very little tequila. Needless to say, it was really weak. Go for the food, not the drinks.

Eaten here several times. Always great food. Service is sometimes sub par. Very legitimate Mexican prices. Good prices on alcohol.

I am from Florence and I must say that Mi Tierra has consistently had good service and good food. I have never had a complaint about them. Probably the more favorable Mexican food establishment to hit up in Florence.

Tried this for lunch one day and had a speedy Gonzales. It was pretty standard for a Mexican restaurant for lunch! Chips and salsa were fine. Nothing was overly amazing. Employees were very nice and I would go back.

Our favorite Mexican food, fast friendly service what more could you ask for. We live in Myrtle Beach and have to eat here every time we are in Florence.

Incredibly fast service and solid food. Nice selection of fruit flavored margaritas and nice menu of standard Mexican fare. I had the carnitas and my companion had chicken and beef fajitas. We were served very quickly, and the food was good with large portions. I was thrilled that it wasn't overly greasy for this kind of quick serve Ameri-Mex joint.

Great, fast service. Food is pretty typical for a Mexican restaurant. Prices on cheese dip is a little high. But one of the better Mexican places to eat in Florence. I go there quite often. :)

Judging by other reviews, maybe I just had some bad luck here. But the food was terrible and the ingredients were hardly recognizable. The margarita was quite good and the service was excellent, but the food . . . yecch! I was so hoping for a decent Mexican dining experience.

bumping up to 4/5...MT has become a solid go to for last minute "what are we going to have for dinner" days...call in your order, ready in 10 min never fail, with a generous amount of chips and salsa to boot

Food is so-so. I had the Mango margarita and wouldn't recommend it. Service was fine.

Best Mexican in Flo-town and cleaner than the others too. The service is just ok, so I never go if I'm in a rush or a bad mood. And pretty much forget asking for any changes. Just pick it out, don't eat it or get it separately...but it'll be wrong either way. I just don't care that much after a margarita and the best chips and salsa!

If I'm in the mood for tacos or something with a south-texas kick, Mi Tierra is my go-to. It's far from authentic, but I think this is the best of the Tex-Mexican spots here in town. IMO Zapatta's takes a close second, but Mi Tierra has the edge. Their sausage based dishes seem to have a bit more kick, than Zapatta's, and their service is down right better. Mi Tierra doesn't cook from scratch, but it's clean, prompt, and very friendly. I also appreciate how the top shelf of their bar has some higher priced selections that are rarely found in a restaurant of this sort. As far as their menu goes, it's not unique or innovative by any means, but it gets the job done. My personal favorite is the Molcajete. I'd strongly encourage one to choose this place first before LaBamba, Corona, and definitely before Don Jose.

Last minute dinner. My daughter suggested Mi Tierra. Great choose. All the food was great. I left nothing on any of our plates. Service was great. Great value.

I was looking forward to checking out this place since it had gotten good reviews elsewhere and was close to our home. I went with a basic combination of enchiladas, beans and rice which was about on par of what I'm used to. The wife got chicken enchiladas and thought they were lacking in flavor. By far the greatest disappointment was the margarita. While my visit wasn't nearly as comprehensively disastrous as LM's review below, her opinion on the margaritas is likely spot on. It's bright green and so ridiculously sweet I couldn't even drink it. The service was average; no real complaints although her dish came out a couple minutes before mine. The prices are good--typical for a casual Mexican restaurant. I'm not anxious to come back here soon and will be checking out one its competitors next time.

This place has pretty good food and was very clean on the inside. The menu was a bit chaotic, but I managed to get through it, just took a small minute to decide. My husband had carnitas tacos and they were delicious. I had an enchilada and taco combo plate which was good, but not a good as his tacos. Rice and beans are typical fare. Our service was slow to start, but our waitress had 2 large parties so I won't hold that against her. Everyone was polite, and our food came out pretty quick. So far this is the closest I have come to Mexican food comparable to S.D. Anyhow, the prices are super cheap. The hubby and I had an App, a pitcher of beer and two entree's for $27. I will def be back.

In Florence, Mexican restaurants are the equivalent of locally owned pizzerias. Quality food offering value, regardless if you eat in or take out. Advantage of eating at the restaurant; happy hour. Parking lot can cause difficulty at the dinner hour, but everyone needs exercise. This is a great restaurant for the family and do not forget lunch.

I've always enjoyed Mexican food. i felt the waitress was a bit rude when i questioned them about the menu item. the food was fast though. the salsas werent in very big bowls and we ate them up quickly and she didnt offer to refill them. but in general im there for the food and that was a tad spicy but tasty.

Consistently decent food. The best Mexican food Florence has to offer. Good service. Ambience leaves something to be desired.

I went here with a group of friends and my experience was pretty good. The food was tasty and the atmosphere is pretty much a standard Mexican restaurant. I order the Mi Tierra burrito every time I go and it's delicious. Their combination meals are great because you can pick what you want to eat. They offer standard things like tamales, quesadillas, burritos, etc. I have never gotten sick from eating here and the restaurant in general seems pretty clean to me. I still go here from time to time. Is it the best Mexican restaurant I've been to? No but for a small town like Florence it's still pretty good.

Went here for Mother's Day with a big group. The menu was confusing and was full of non-related hotel photos. Food was nothing special and nothing worth going back for. The burritos are very basic with only a tortilla and ground beef with sauce on top. Very flavorless. The beans were very salty. Salsa had heat but no flavor -- tasted like tomato sauce. We got seated quickly, but it might be because it was very empty inside. They have many workers and it felt very awkward eating while they were all staring at you while you eat and I could hear multiple profanities coming from them (in Spanish). They yelled at each other from across the room and it was not a pleasant atmosphere at all. The decor was nice with the exception of the projection screen being a big blanket hanging on the wall. They would occasionally come from behind you and reach across you to grab your glass or plate. To top it off, they gave the check to my mother (on Mother's day, no less). Not a great mexican restaurant and I highly recommend against going back there. UPDATE: Contrary to what the other reviewer may think about my review, I did not have a single drink at this restaurant nor have I mixed my review with another location. My experience was as bad as I have stated and while he may have had a better experience I stand behind my review.

Fast... Good but not excellent.

I am a bit surprised to see the Yelps this place has gotten so far. The place that the last reviewer describes isn't even consistent with this place at all (perhaps she had a bit too many margaritas and reviewed the wrong place). Mi Tierra is located near my home and is always my go to Mexican place in Florence. I have been to this place probably a dozen times and never had a negative experience. As opposed to what some people are saying this place is always crowded. The hordes of people who descend on this place every weekend can't all be wrong. The staff here is always pleasant and service always top notch. The inside of the restaurant has always been clean and orders are always carried out efficiently. I am picky about where I choose to eat and believe me if I had any reservations about this place I wouldn't be afraid to share them. Don't let the boneheads below scare you off. Mi Tierra has some good eats. Try the carnitas or the molcajete and you won't be disappointed. And if you are prone to drinking too much and need a DR (designated reviewer) because you forgot the address and name of the place you were supposed to Yelp, then make sure to do it before your dining experience. This place is a solid 3 stars but the only reason I am giving it 4 stars is to offset the awful reviews some people have decided to bestow on it.
