At first, I was really skeptical given there were no previous reviews and given the somewhat weathered look of the outside. Nonetheless, my family gave it a shot, and to my surprise, the experience was great. The (principal) food is both fresh and saltwater fish that's deep fried and served with fries, slaw, and hush puppies. Obviously, sweet tea is a must. Overall, the food was tasty and pretty unhealthy, I'm sure. The shrimp dinner was good ($9) and very filling. The fried fish was pretty tasty because it was so fresh having just been caught that morning. Just be prepared to answer if you prefer the head on or off when you order. (love it!). The staff abounds with the Southern charm you'd expect from a restaurant off of the beaten path in South Carolina. If nothing else, that hospitality makes skipping the fast food chains right off 95 well worth it as you're driving through. Besides serving food, the restaurant, adorned with family photos and newspaper clippings, sells fish by the pound, loaves of bread, and candy as well as oddities like silver handled brushes (unless those were just for display...?). If you want the true flavor of the coastal South, I'd recommend stopping here.

Don't let the quirky atmosphere fool you. The people behind the clean and efficient counter couldn't be nicer. The portions were generous and the fresh tea bottomless. Better than anything else This town has to offer. Fish and only fish with limited sides. But very good food.

Fresh and authentic--a real treat. We chose our own fresh flounders and watched as they were filleted. Fried, they were light and fluffy and served with scrumptious hush puppies and freshly made coleslaw. No room left for the included fries. The people were lovely too, checking on us and chatting briefly after making sure we enjoyed the meal. It's just a few miles off 95 and WELL worth the trip. Don't be put off by the well worn building and faded sign.

Stopped by here on the way to the beach last Saturday. Very friendly people and quick service. The seafood was fried and perfect. My daughter loved the shrimp. Kudos for the man behind the counter taking the time to point out the different freshly caught fish they had for sale. There's not a ton of unique places to stop for lunch in Dillon. You really ought to pass up the McDonalds go just a little bit off the beaten path for a true southern beach classic.

This place is one of those places that yelp directed me to during my travels. It a few miles off the interstate but if you're in the mood for some fried seafood, this is the place to be. Don't judge the place by its exterior; it's full of friendly folks who are very happy to make you some good food. I tried their fried seafood combo (clams, oysters, shrimp, flounder, fries and hush puppies). It was pretty good, but the fish was a tad bit salty. The service is great and I would definitely stop by again if I were in the area.
