Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

High Cholesterol at Pizza Hut

Whether large, medium or small, a pizza can boost your cholesterol levels instantly. You shouldn't eat more than one slice of any pizza your order at Pizza Hut. If you're concerned with your high cholesterol, then it is wise to take your friends to Pizza Hut and share pizza among them slice by slice. You can also try pasta at Pizza Hut but ensure that you are not adding any dressing or extra cheese as you order pasta.

I've come here at this point about 5 times. Even though I live right down the road. I drive by it every day... Yet I almost always forget about it. Don't be that guy ;) bookmark it and visit it when you're near by. They have really good calzones. I've yet to have a pie, but I'm sure they are just as good. Not a ton of beer options... Thus the 4 vs 5 star. I like a good selection for my dinner... And lunch.... And office breaks... And mid morning breaks... And. ... Customer service has always been pleasant. Checkout has always seemed a bit 'ok good you're here. Gimmie money and goodbye'. Another reason for the 4. I'm pretty sure it's the owner that has always closed me out. And I get the impression he's not from around here ;) I'll come back for sure. I can overlook the checkout bedside manner. ;)

So my first impression was "this is a cute place," and it went downhill from there. We walked all the way across the restaurant to the server behind the counter to ask if we sat ourselves because there was no signage, then we picked one of the 1 1/2 person booths. The booths definitely don't comfortably fit two people to a side. As we sat I realized that the music and the Law and Order on TV were at about the same volume, both just a tad too loud. I ordered the side salad and eggplant parm and my husband got the gyro Stromboli. My salad was $3.95 and what I got was iceberg lettuce, 1/6 of a medium tomato, one half moon of cucumber and about 15 onion slices with 3 packs of club crackers. The Italian dressing was bland and the salad was a tasteless waste of my money. Then our waitress proceeded to vacuum the entire establishment with a vacuum that is louder than a space shuttle taking off. By then my ears were ringing, there was dirt kicked up everywhere until the other patrons food, and I was ready to leave. At least the vacuum had drown out the sound of the people screaming in Law and Order SVU about getting raped. When our food came out I was once again crestfallen, I saw burned noodles sticking out of a cheesy breaded mess. Where was the tomato sauce? Where was the eggplant? The super thin slices of eggplant were rubbery and the soggy in oil and breading, not to mention burnt like hockey pucks around the edges. I attempted to take a bite out of it and failed, it was too hard. The noodles were dry except for being completely stuck together by burnt cheese glue. Thankfully my husband's Stromboli was good, just very greasy. He said that he has had a lot better for a lot cheaper at other places in the past. We don't go out much and were really looking for that quaint Italian feel, and to have a romantic evening together. What we had was headache, a stomach ache, and a strong desire to never, ever go back.

Excellent subs! I haven't tried the pizza yet but I heard it's amazing. I first tried the Italian sub and it is awesome! I tried the pizza sub as well. It is good, but I probably wouldn't order it again. I ordered the roast beef sub and it is extremely good. Definitely coming back here.

Go say hi to Angel! When I worked over there, I would eat here 1x a week. They have mostly Italian dishes, but hamburgers, sandwiches, or prime rib.

I've been coming to Pizza Palace since they opened years ago. It's really a great place to come in and have lunch or dinner. Mainly I do the takeout though. I am totally addicted to their Greek Salads. They have the best Greek Salads in town. The lettuce is always so fresh and crisp. And they load it up with Feta Cheese on Top. They have 2 kinds of dressing you can pick from with the salad. They have their own Greek dressing or the oil and vinegar. I'm the oil and vinegar girl. The people are really friendly that work here. They always greet you and most of them call me by name. The service is always warm. They also serve all sorts of pasta dishes and pizzas. I'm a big fan of the baked spaghetti. Oh......It's YUMMO! Their pizzas are great too. You can do them anyway you want. This place really doesn't look that great on the outside, and not in the best of strip malls, but it is worth giving it a try. I bring a lot of my out of town clients here to treat them to some good local food. And of course......I get them hooked on it too. You won't be disappointed coming here to eat.

It is not their fault why I cannot give them a perfect 5 star rating. The service was good and the pizza was oven baked fresh. The ingredients were top notch and the crust was perfect. But it seems like their pizza does not sit well with my stomach. I'm not sure what caused this but it was a disappointment. The calzone here was great, I even end up ordering twice because of its good taste!

This place on the corner of a not so good-looking area and looks like a hole in the wall joint on the outside but inside it is anything but that. The good thing is that the food- oh man- the food is superb! I tried their salad with ranch and something about that dressing was good. I hate it when ranch tastes crappy! The spanikopita was our appetizer and it is probably the best i've ever had. The inside is creamy and tasty whereas the outside was light, fluffy, and flakey. The reason why we came here was because we were told the calzones were the best in COLA so that's what my hubby got. I agree, they were scrumptious. Not as cheesy as i'd like but to his preference, it was very meaty. Something about the bread here was not like most calzones. It was an extremely thin bread, however, it was still the texture that it should be. The waitress recommended that I ordered the pastrami sub and if you're a pastrami lover like myself, I recommend it too! It's extremely peppery (i know, mmm) and the meat slices are lightly sliced and placed in the same thin bread. It's nice to know that even though its not the healthiest meal in the world, you're not loading up on a ton of carbs. LOL. Overall, I highly recommend this place if you're on a budget. The food is good and the service is above average. The waitresses will do more than just take your order. I hope you enjoy this place the way I did!

I've been here a couple times before. Was happy with the food, don't think the pizzas that great, though. Today, I went for lunch. They were busy. The waitress took my order, brought me my water, and I didn't see her again. I sat there watching several people who came in at the same time or after me getting their food and leaving. Another waitress finally ask me if I was waiting for food. She went back to check it out and the original waitress never placed my order "on accident" and she brought me an extra salad to eat while I waited. Then the cashier brought me my order, asked me if I wanted a drink refill and I said yes, and that was forgotten. No-one came back to ask how the food was. When I paid, they tried to charge me for a lemonade. I shouldn't have bothered with a tip, but the second girl got one from me.

We come to Pizza Palace frequently for takeout and to eat in. The food is fantastic, the service is friendly and quick, and the atmosphere is very down to earth and relaxed. We love it. The beer on tap is super cheap and always cold. We've tried a lot of stuff on the menu, and it's all really good. The pizza is awesome and fresh and homemade. My favorite item is the grilled chicken sub. It's melt in your mouth delicious. The baked pastas are also great. We love, love, love this place and will definitely always keep it in our rotation.

Found this great family owned, clean restaurant off Yelp. Great service from Tabatha. Had the Greek salad and cheese pizza. The pizza was properly "sauced" and kids loved it! All in all a great value. Location in a strip mall not so great but if you want convenience.. Close to highway, fast and good service, clean and good value... This is it!

WaWaWeeWah! I was not expecting to like this place as much as I did. Nestled back into a dingy strip mall, full of blue hairs and ripe with a dank atmosphere that told me I shouldn't be surprised if I saw some mafia-esque Fat Tony's and Uncle Joey's racketeering here. I almost turned on my heel to about-face right out of there. If it hadn't been for the cheerful server that greeted us at our table or the stellar beer deals (seriously cheap Bocks) I would have done just that. As it were, we stayed and ordered a meat lover's but without this and add that - for a very reasonable price. It was so delicious I ordered a second pizza (the Greek) to take home before we'd even finished the first one!! While I find it a little odd to have a pizza parlor run by a bunch of non-Italians, I've seen crazier things before. If anything, they add a little foreign flair to a potentially-greased up blah staple. I'm so glad appearances didn't deceive me out of trying what, so far, has been the best pizza in Columbia!!

I was expecting to come here and only be able to get pizza... but luckily they have quite the menu! There is a vast selection of greek and italian lunches and "dinners" as well. My chicken sandwich (gyro) here was good. No complaints. My coworkers shared a pizza. It is enough for two people to share if there is a salad or something involved. The service was also good. The dudes creepily staring from the kitchen... not so good.

My family didn't care for this place at all. Garlic cheese bread was dry (no marinara) and seemed old. The calzone (or maybe it was actually a stromboli, can't remember) was huge with a pretty good crust but the sauce was very bland and it just had a sprinkle of cheese inside and out. The pizza wasn't good either. We have had pizza all over the USA and this pizza did not begin to compare with authentic NY pizza or good Italian restaurants. It tasted processed instead of fresh. The decor was very drab and old. Except for the outdoor patio it was very depressing. We were expecting a diamond in the rough from the good reviews but instead we got just what it appeared to be. We should have turned around and left as soon as we walked in. I want to find something redeeming to add (they did have a huge menu with lots of options) but my husband is now looking for Zaxbys so that he can get something else for supper, so for us it really wasn't good enough even for a one time meal. Would not recommended at all.

The Pizza Palace serves fresh pizza, all the ingredients are fresh and homemade. When you talk to the owner you get a real sense that he really enjoys what he is doing. His product is top notch, there's no room for anything but the best ingredients. From the fresh cut veggies, and fresh homemade marinara sauce, to the thinly sliced ham and freshly grated mozzarella cheese, every part of the pizza has been accounted for with surgeon like precision. Pizza is not the only thing good at this local establishment The Pizza Palace also offers a wide variety of pasta dishes and other Italian cuisine, including the best calzone in South Carolina, I hear. So for the title of best pizza place in town, I'm sad to say it's a tie. I can't make up my mind which has the better pizza, Pizza Man Pizzeria or The Pizza Palace both have fantastic pies. But I am happy to say that Columbia has two great options for New York style pizza in town, now all we need is a place to get Chicago style pizza in town. If any of you know where one is let me know! And no Uno doesn't count!
