What's not to like at Groucho's??? Their 45 sauce is great! Their sandwiches are wonderful, delicious, the service, even on USC parents weekend is spiffy quick and the prices are very reasonable. Signage says they have been around for 70 years in Columbia?!?! You can see why, they provide a great product at a great price that college students can affords and the service is top notch, even on the busiest weekend of the year! Well done Grouchos!!

Make the drive for the 45! Amazing lunch today. I had the Apollo with the 45 Sauce from a reviewers pick. Loved every bite. This hot sandwich hit the spot and the 45 sauce was the ultimate compliment to this already great sandwich.

Formula 45 is a godsend. The all turkey Apollo is my favorite sandwich and Angel is my go-to salad, always topped with fresh tomatoes.

Everyone has their favorites but I think we all agree... the 45 sauce is the real gem! Started going to Groucho's in Five Points when I was in college at USC. I now live a lot closer to the Forest Drive location and have been going here more often. The parking is easier since they have a parking lot but I usually just get it to go. They are pretty busy at certain times of the day (especially on Sundays - post church rush crowd) but they are also open later so you can grab something for dinner too. Lots of families and high school students frequent this location. Salads and sandwiches are the backbone of the restaurant and while none of them are really anything to write home about exactly, adding the 45 sauce makes them special. I personally always go for the all turkey STP dipper. It comes with turkey, cheese and bacon pieces on a soft roll. Extra 45 sauce on the side please! I dip everything in it... sandwich, chips, even the pickle. The sweet tea is great and it has the little cubed ice that everyone loves! Free refills on drinks and I believe a free cookie when you leave. It's delicious and I recommend checking it out (or one of the other many locations popping up across the state). Definitely try the 45 and I'm pretty sure you can buy a bottle of it to take home with you.

Groucho's deli is a great place to eat for all people looking for a decent place to feast at lunch time. Groucho's has many good sandwiches including my personal favorite, the STP. It is the greatest sandwich I have ever eaten. I do not recommend the STP for those who are looking for a healthy meal, but Groucho's has plenty of other sandwiches that are delicious, and nutritious.

Love grouchos...especially this location. We eat here once a week and love our server (Callie), she always remembers our order and that really makes us feel like regulars lol... The portions are a lil small for the money but the sandwiches are great and I love the 45 sauce....

I took a to go order from Groucho's today for the first time. My sandwich, the Reuben Variation, was fresh and tasty, though this ain't Katzs deli and the corned beef wasn't exactly piled high, but enough for a good lunch. The pickle that came with it was crisp and delicious, though the chips were nothing special. I will be back to try other items on the menu. Minus one star for being environmentally-unfriendly. My meager sandwich was packed in a large styrofoam container while a simple paper paper wrap would have sufficient. Next time I go I will dine in and try to avoid the excess waste.

The atmosphere is great, the service was outstanding and the food even better. It is always nice to find a clean friendly restaurant with good food. The only issue we had was parking. Groucho's is so good that they need just a little more parking. Enjoy ... We did!

Nice fun family friendly environment for lunch or whenever. I like just about every sand which they have including their special sauces like the 45 sauce which is pink and is great to dip your chips in. If you don't want a huge lunch go for the little dippers, it's more like a half of sand which. The waitress's are really down to earth and very efficient.

Always delicious, always quick. Call ahead if you're on the run and they'll have it ready in less than 10. If you don't get 45 sauce you're unpatriotic. You will love it. You will want to swim in it and make a home in it.

Groucho's a good place to grab a bite to eat if you're in Columbia. The menu is just large enough to let you have a little freedom but not overwhelming. The food arrived quickly and it tasted good. I don't think you could really go wrong with anything on the menu. The service could be better though. The workers wanted to talk and be more friends than servers, which led to everyone in our party to go thirsty. The 45 sauce is good and the food is solid. Hopefully you'll time it right with the correct staff.

Favorite sandwich shop in Columbia. You cannot go wrong with their sandwich selections. The STP dipper is my personal favorite.

I'm a fan of this place and the food is very good. My wife and I order the STP dipper every time we go. Our kids like their grilled cheese and I haven't heard of anybody not liking the food here. That being said, we haven't been back in some time because although it's not that expensive, it's overpriced. You pay over $7.00 for a little less than half a sub sandwich...when you could go to Publix about 200 yards away and get a full sub sandwich, with a lot more toppings, and just as hot or cold as at Groucho's... for $6.50. Yes, at Groucho's you'll get a great dipping sauce on the side with a small bag of plain chips and a pickle, but come on. A drink is extra (and by "drink" I mean it's one of those situations where you get a cup full of ice and after three sips you need a refill) as is any extra sauce you ask request (depending on the server you get and the mood that server is in). Overall...great food that's not worth the cost.

Absolutely phenomenal. Was looking for a place to have a light lunch and decided to stop in, and stumbled upon this wonder. The selection of sandwiches was very large and let myself, wife, and in laws all get what we wanted--everybody was extremely happy with what we ordered. The food came out quickly despite the deli being quite busy, and it tasted great. After we paid, the owner personally asked us if it was good, then gave us a pack of free fresh house made cookies! A must visit

I ordered the big dipper and substituted the ham for turkey. It's just average or maybe I ordered the wrong thing. I thought the sauce was just ok. I thought the sauce tasted like thousand island dressing with a couple of extra ingredients. I also thought the portion was a little small and I thought it looked more like a kids meal. I don't see the hype ,I could have made that sandwich at home.
