Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Its a Chipotle, no better or worse than any other franchise Chipotle. Please though people.........for the love of freaking GOD figure out what the heck you want before you get to the counter while you are waiting in the out the door line. Its just damn rude if you get indecisive and make everyone else wait cause you don't know what barbacoa is! Just try it, its not like its sushi or anything!

The slowest Chipotle I have ever visited. Been here a few times traveling between Charlotte and Savannah. The line is always out the door and the staff never shows much urgency. In all my visits, I have had to wait in line about 15 minutes before receiving my food. I've been to busier locations that pump out orders with explosive efficiency. I've never had a problem with the food; consistent with other Chipotle locations. A pretty large space with plenty of booths and tables, including some outdoor seating overlooking the strip mall.

I still LOVE their flavorful and planet-friendly food, but the word is out on Chipotle. It's certainly no longer the only Chipotle in the state (another one has opened in Cola, actually!), and the service here can be a bit sketchy. Some employees are awesome, others seem annoyed/clueless/lazy. Once, a server (a female who i've never seen again) gave me the tiniest portion of Guac I have ever had at a Chipotle....and that is really saying something because since 2002, I've eaten Guac at Chipotle at least once a month (often, more). When I pay $1.80 for guac, I expect more than one teaspoon of Guac! The line can get really long. The tables can get messy. But whatevs. I still give it five-stars and I still visit weekly cuz their food is amazing and flavorful. Nutritious, organic, rgbh-free, and SUPER FRESH! I highly recommend getting crunchy (hard) tacos or a burrito bowl. I never get a burrito here. I also highly recommend the steak here. Chipotle's steak is spicy, tender, just DELICIOUS! (To compare, I've found the steak at Moe's is flavorless, way too tough, and just offensively BLAND!)

If you've ever been to another Chipotle, stay away. This will hurt your love! Not clean, not organized, rude staff. Stay away...

Finally, a chain restaurant that gets it: naturally raised meat, hormone-free dairy, sourcing local produce when/where possible, and environmentally friendly as possible...no wonder Mickey D's divested all its interest in them, Chipotle is the antithesis of what they represent. My kids love it and so do I, and I would not hesitate for a moment getting a meal from here. My one complaint is minor...where is the horchata??

I don't get up Forest Drive much, so I wasn't even aware we had a Chipotle in the area, but as I drove through yesterday and spotted it I *had* to stop and try. Um.. I'm trying to figure out why everyone is giving a 5-star rating. For one thing, the tables were absolutely nasty and the dining area was filthy. There were only 2 tables occupied at the time, so "being too busy" wasn't a valid excuse for the appearance. I shouldn't have to clean my own table off before I allow my daughter to even sit down. As for the food itself... in terms of what is available in this genre around Columbia, I'd put it 3rd behind Qdoba & Moe's. The quality of the ingredients is the lowest of the 3. The size of my burrito was the smallest of the 3. And, if I recall, it was the most expensive of the 3; not to mention, the entree didn't come with any chips as you'd expect based on experiences from the other 2. Because my daughter wanted some, I ordered a bag of the chips, and even she (who doesn't make a habit of refusing snacks) wouldn't eat them... Thank goodness there are no shortage of alternatives around here.

It's hard to go wrong with Chipotle. It's of the newer generation of faster food places. All natural ingredients, simple but powerful flavors, served your way. But don't think this means small gourmet size servings, nope they gorge you like your on the next menu as the main meal. It's good food, sloppy, messy goodness. Which is in complete contrast to the decor. Stainless steel and very minimalist. I can't say enough good things about this place, except they need more locations.

Barbacoa bowl for TMFW. The chicken is also nothing to scoff at. Think Moe's but better ingredients. If you know the back story of Chiptole you know they only use local / organic ingredients. That is an extra point if you ask me. The chips and salsa are a rip off and usually stale. Save your money on that. The burrito bowls are out of the park.

This chipotle is not as good as the others in town. Unfortunately it is the closest one to my house. Portion size is low compared to the other chipotle and not as clean. I think I will have to take the trek to harbison next time I want chipotle.

Poor choice. Dining tables look a bit dirty to me, and bland, and the seating a bit uncomfortable Haven't a clue why anyone would give it 5 stars. I will try it again and maybe upgrade the rating, but overall i have experienced better. For example i like Qubota's .. similar but maybe cleaner looking tables in the dining room, but Qubota's near me is slipping in recent weeks.

Healthy eating and reasonable prices. I enjoy the quality of food. I especially enjoy the chicken and would recommended it to anyone

Food is good. However, it was a big mess ordering. They rung up an extra random item on our receipt. Had to get a refund. They asked if I wanted to get something else because I was overcharged. I found that funny. If I wanted something else I would had ordered it to begin with. This place is not for small kids. There are not many options, and no dessert for them. Chips and salsa are extra. The chips were way way to salty, and I like salt. I would go here again though. As I said, food was good. I have been here in the past and had pleasant experiences.

The past few times I've come into this location I've been disappointed. I'm starting to think it's a common thing at this location and not just because "they're having a bad day". The line is really long not because it's busy but because they're really slow..... the place was a mess.... food all over the counter and floors. .. messy work space. ..... The amount of meat and veggies they put are always inconsistent even on two burritos side by side.... on mine she put half the normal spoon amount... I asked for little extra and she told me I'd get charged. .. hmm to get the normal amount I would have to pay extra? No thanks. (I'm an avid Chipotle customer. .. All over the US.. and I always get the same thing so I know what the portion sizes are) .... to top that off the girl who was wrapping made such a mess she had to re wrap it in a new tortilla. She dumped all the meat and stuff on the counter while switching and threw it away. .. never replaced it. . pretty much all that was left was rice beans and a little lettuce. ....essentially i paid 6.50 for a rice and tortilla burrito. .... we won't be coming back here again..... I recommend you don't either. ....

Food is great. Skimpy on the servings!! By far, the most consistently stingiest Chipotle I've ever been to. :-(
(2)Anna B.
I'll admit, I've always been partial to Moe's (most likely out of familiarity), but most times I go to Chipotle, I'm impressed. First of all, the servings are gigantic, so nooooo worries about leaving there hungry. I'd recommend the vegetarian bowl, as it comes with a big ol' serving of delicious guac (otherwise you have to pay a hefty $1.80 per serving). The line tends to get long around lunchtime, so just be sure that you budget accordingly. Downsides: staff can be a bit...abrupt, would we say? Tables are often messy, as is the condiment/drink station. Anyway, it's got it's up's and down's but when I'm in the neighborhood I'd probably stop on in.
(2)Planters V.
Only negative is it is CRAZY BUSY with Army base staff next door. Also, outdoor seating is not-enclosed, so be careful with tots running out into traffic.
(3)Valencia W.
Love it! They always have good portions and are always talkative. The Chipolte where I live is always stingy so I give this one 5 stars. Haven't had a bad experience here...yet...

Will never touch Moes again!

I had never been to Chipotle before but everyone I knew kept telling me how awesome it is, so I had to try it last night. I ordered a steak burrito bowl, as I am trying to cut carbs. There were very few options on the line, so I got pinto beans, steak, cheese, guac, sour cream, red salsa and corn salsa. Without a giant scoop of rice in the bottom, the mushy beans made everything into a runny mess. The taste was...mediocre. The steak was tough and chewy, with lots of gristly bits. The salsa was OK. Chips were not included and one dixie cup of guacamole set me back $1.80, with no chips or salsa. I got water to drink. The tables inside were dirty and had remnants of previous burritos on them. The ceiling or AC drip near the drink machine almost got into my bowl and I found the floor to need a good sweeping. I can appreciate that Chipotle sources its ingredients from healthier sources than Moe's or Qdoba, but this experience left me not only unimpressed, but disappointed. I won't be going back.

No matter the length of the line at any Chipotle restaurant, the fact remains that within 10-15 minutes you will have your burrito in hand and you will be out the door. And for under $10 ($8.72 Maximum Price!), you're not going to find any better, healthier food (52 grams of fat LOADED!), that you can get so quick, anywhere. Fully customizable menu, you literally see everything you get right in front of you as you order it. You walk-in, and literally from the moment you're at the front of the line, until you're sitting down is maybe 3 minutes because you fumbled with your wallet getting that $10 bill out. Here's the nice part: The burritos here are massive. You can order your meal as a regular burrito with beans, a fajita burrito, a burrito bowl, hard tacos, soft tacos, or on a bed of romaine lettuce as a salad. There is no comparison. Restaurant quality at faster than fast food speeds. And the fact that they're open everyday from 11am to 10pm, means you've got lunch covered if you need it, or dinner if you're craving a burrito or working late. I couldn't be happier about Chipotle being in Columbia. I tell everyone!

Praise Jesus! Columbia finally has a Chipotle. I understand this is a chain buritto restaurant. I know it was, at one time, owned by McDonald's. I know the food is made on a conveyor line. I DON"T CARE! The barbacoa fajita burrito is a thing of beauty. When the restaurant opened, I think I was one of the first 20 people to eat there. I waited in line. These cats have a simple menu but everything they make is a home run. Chips and guac, great! Burrittos, amazing! Speed of delivery, top notch. This place is orders of magnitude better than Moe's or Qdoba. Try it, please, this is my favorite fast food place on earth.

My husband and I have been Chipotle enthusiast for years! Traveling across state lines and transporting burritos past security in airports! Really! We've had a love affair with this chain. So you know when they FINALLY opened in Columbia, we super stoked! LOL We were the first people in line to get a free t shirt and burrito card! Yesss! As mentioned by other posters, you can't go wrong here. The food is fresh. The flavor is awesome. You can customize your meal, and you get a lot of food. We always leave there with a full stomach. You can even order and pay online. They'll have your burrito ready and waiting. Chipotle is our guilty pleasure. I've tried other places around Columbia to know, that they just don't compare. Barbacoa all the waay!
(5)Neal T.
Great food. And uses local food when possible, which is great. Can get overly crowded at times, due to the lack of sufficient seating, which is saying something, because they actually have a good amount. It's the only Chipotle within reach of the city, so if you're craving Chipotle, it's worth the trip.

I had been dying to try this place since it first opened up and finally I got my chance. I went in excited and left very disappointed, I don't see how so many people could say this place is better than Moe's..maybe health-wise but as far as taste and flavor..not so much. As far as this particular location itself, I thought it was nice on the inside, the tables could have been a bit cleaner but it looked like everyone had other things to do with the long line, so no complaints about that. The staff didn't seem to happy, there was no warm greetings when we got to the beginning of the line and it seemed they were more concerned about getting our food prepared and us out the way, with the exception of the guy at the end who rung up our orders. As far as the food and everything else..I thought they were "ok". I like my burritos filled with "the works" and this place just left some things to be desired. They only give an option of a few toppings that you don't have to pay extra for...guacomle was extra, chips and salsa were extra and the drinks were expensive also. By the time I had made it to my total, I ended up spending $10 dollars for just a burrito and a drink, I would get a burrito, chips, free salsa, and a drink at Moe's for like $7, so I wasn't really too happy about that. I don't know if it was the fact that my favorite burrito ingredients weren't there or something else but I thought it was mediocre at best, I've made better burritos at home...it was like a certain something was just missing, can't quite put my finger on what though. I did like the way the inside looked as far as design and the fact they had this big patio to sit out on, I also liked the fact they offered a corn salsa and other things I had not seen at Moe's but all in all, I think I'll stick to my deliciously fattening (and less expensive) Moe's.

So good I mean who doesn't love chipotle especially the ones that aren't stingy with the guacamole
(5)David P.
Really disappointed. Never had a bad experience at a Chipotle until this past Saturday. Service on the line was good but the place was just dirty. The trash at the drink service area was overflowing. The lady who was cashiering came out and stuffed more stuff in it and made the mess worse. The tables were dirty and there was trash on the floor. I could see under the drink and condiment stand and it looked like it hadn't been mopped in days. Chipotle yes. This one never again.

Great customer service with lots of smiles Everything was clean and fast and delicious
(5)Emily E.
I love Chipotle, but if you're in Columbia, go to the one in Harbison. It's the cheapest one in town (due to county taxing stupidity) and the best at serving consistently good-tasting ingredients. This one on Forest is in a nice upscale strip mall, but the flavor here just never seems as good to me and is always crowded.
