Burger Tavern 77 Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

Diabetics at Whataburger

Diabetics need to be a bit cautious while dining at Whataburger. Almost every burger is rich in sodium content and it is highly recommended to keep your burger cravings in control while dining at Whataburger. However, you can always satisfy your cravings for a burger by choosing Whataburger Jr. or other non-burger items from the menu.

Foods to Avoid at Whataburger for Diabetics:

A diabetic should resist from ordering any extra meat-based burger such as Double Meat Whataburger or Triple Meat Whataburger to limit the sodium intake and calories. Most burgers except the Whataburger Jr. are high in sodium and hence should be avoided.

High Cholesterol at Whataburger

Calorie intake is the main concern for people with high cholesterol while dining at a fast-food restaurant like Whataburger. Well, you can always try the Lighter & Smaller options from the menu to cut down your fat intake. Opting for grilled sandwich or burgers are preferred compared to double meat or triple meat cheesy burgers which contain high cholesterol.

Foods to Avoid at Whataburger for High Cholesterol

Cut down on your meat intake to control your high cholesterol. You must skip Double Meat Whataburger and Triple Meat Whataburger at all costs. You should also avoid Avocado Bacon Burger and Monterey Melt as both these burgers contain a high amount of fat. Sweat & Spicy Bacon Burger will add extra 1080 calories in your diet so skip that as well. Whatacatch Dinner may sound tempting but the famous fish sandwich is also full of calories and unhealthy fat. Lastly, avoid French Fries and Onion Rings at Whataburger if you are already ordering a burger or any other heavy meal.

We started with an appetizer and decided on the chicken nachos but they were totally burned and there was barely any chicken on them...it was like as if i went home and spread some shredded cheese on some chips and nuked them too long! it was ridiculous. My gf ordered the memphis burger which is supposed to come with cheddar cheese, onion rings in the burger and BBQ sauce...guess what?! it came out as a bacon burger with some white cheese on it!! LOL!! We were like what the hell? so we told the waitress it wasnt what we ordered ..THE COOK LITERALLY JUST PUT ONION RINGS ON IT AND SPRAYED SOME BBQ SAUCE ON IT!! and sent it back out. I ordered the Tahoe burger which was suppose to come with sun dried tomato sauce...it didnt ..i asked about it and the waitress apologized and said it was the cook who is not doing their job right and she proceeded to give me the sauce on the side...all in all the burgers by themselves were sub par...i'd go to red robins or an In and out before i went back there!! at least the service was great! so ill give it a one star for that!

A solid place to have a good burger. Pretty good atmosphere and decent beer selection. We both went all out and ordered the Memphis, which is cheese, bbq, onion straws and bacon. The presentation was really nice however the burgers were a bit overcooked and a little dry and the onion rings had this weird sauce that I would have rather not had. I would not suggest the onion rings the weren't real crispy especially with the sauce, luckily I could steal fries from my boyfriends plate. The fries were pretty good, not the best but not bad at all. This may be the biggest suggestion I have for this burger joint is put the condiments on the table. don't give me little cups of ketchup and make me wait for more. If I want to drown my food in condiments I should have the right. I think this place is better than some competitors in that area with that said my boyfriend the burger guru says he likes the burgers at Chili's better. To sum it all up this is a great place to take some visitors for a local burger or start a night out on the town, not the best burger in town yet but they do have potential. I enjoyed my meal and would like to go back and try one of thier many other combinations and hope they last longer than that other place that was there before them.

Back for our second visit at this new cool restaurant this time for dinner and Trivia night. I ordered the veggie burger and pasta salad, red wine on tap again. This veggie burger was the real deal. You could tell it was homemade, plenty of beans, rice, corn and assorted veggies. Spiced just right too. The pasta salad was very fresh with broccoli, onions, carrots etc. in a really light sauce. Not usually a sauce or spicy person, but I also ordered the Creole remoulade sauce for my veggie burger which I didn't try until almost done - OMG - this sauce sauce should be bottled and sold. It was so yummy, I used on my pasta salad and wanted more. Husband got the made to order burger med. well again and added an assortment of different things to choose from along with the side salad (very large). I tried a bite and his burger had a smokey, char grilled taste that was just right. Fat Tire beer and some kind of IPA (I'm not a beer drinker) All in all, we had a good time playing Trivia and a delicious meal. The place was busy, but manageable and the staff seemed completely at ease. You get what you pay for. It's nice to find a place in Cola. that is clean, great atmosphere, offers fresh, handmade food and not from a frozen package. Very happy both times.

This was my second time coming back here. The first time I walked in and was greeted by no one. Two other couples proceeded to come in after us, after speaking with someone finally he forgot about us and seated another couple behind us. Then the other group was seated. We where never greeted or asked if we had been helped, so we just walked out. This time we where seated in a timely manner. The food was good, the waitress was a little inexperienced. We kept getting other tables drink orders, having to tell them we didn't order them. Also, the managers went to every table but ignored our table, I'm not really sure why. I would give it another try in a few more months when they have had more time to get experienced.

I'm confused. I came here for lunch about two months ago, and it was one of the best burgers I've ever had. It came quickly. My party and I were out of the door within an hour. Then I came tonight. Totally different story. Waitress barely took care of us, food came 45 minutes to an hour after we actually ordered it. When it did come, it was also not prepared well. Day-old bread in the grilled cheese sandwich, cold food, but on the upside, my wife said her burger was good. Going to give 2 stars only because of my positive experience a couple months ago. Struggling to consider coming back. #disappointed

After driving by this place and seeing it always with a crowd, we thought we would give it a go---it was a nice day and they had outdoor seating. I read some lackluster reviews initially when BT77 opened and chalked it up to getting the kinks worked out. We each had a local SC/NC beer at the bar while we waited for our table. Their tap selected was nice, the bar was large and well decorated. There was definitely a crowd, but with it being USC graduation weekend, you would hope they would be adequately staffed. After being seated we ordered the mozzarella sticks on the recommendation from the server. They were ok, nothing extraordinary. We ordered our burgers. I got the Memphis (bbq sauce, onion straws) and she ordered the sliders for a smaller portion. After waiting for about 45 minutes to an hour (the server apologized several times because of large parties seated before us), our food finally arrived. I wish I could say it was worth the wait. My burger was raw. And hers dried out completely. I would have gladly overlooked the long wait (especially in lieu of a gorgeous day outside) if the food was good. It's disappointing that a place with BURGER in their name missed so badly on both ends of the spectrum. I would love to say we will be back, but I doubt it. There are other options nearby that always nail something so basic as doneness of meat---your one of only two meats on the menu. Maybe the chicken is a safe bet at a burger restaurant? On the plus side the beer was cold and the fries were good.

I had the best chicken sandwich! I ordered the Devine Chicken burger with cranberry chutney. Ashley, our waitress was amazing. We were in a rush, so she made sure our food was on time. Wow! Everyone was so friendly.

We were looking for something good, where we could watch the game. Tried a couple of other places but the wait was too long. Happened to pull into 77 Burger Tavern. Had the Nachos and Wings. Ordered the Charleston Burger cooked well. Not crowded but I'm not sure why. The food was excellent. EXCELLENT! I don't get to Columbia often but next time there I will go back. Definitely worth going if you're in the area. Enjoy!!

Terrible service. Super cloudy inside because they burnt all the burgers. Then some came out completely raw. Server said she was completely hung over. Never go here. I was here for two hours and the waiter keeps forgetting figure out what is suppose to be put on checks.

Anyplace with burgers named the Memphis, Baton Rouge, Santa Fe and Long Beach is going to get quality points in my book, but what impressed me on this visit was the house-made veggie burger, with avocados, pepper jack cheese and a whole wheat bun. Not the most out-of-this-world burger I've ever had, but something that hands-down made me happy and someplace I could easily see myself running through the menu, if I lived in the area. We sat outside and the service was speedy. Solid lineup of craft beers on tap and plenty of options to make your own custom burger. Cucumber tomato salad was a satisfying and light selection for a side, as opposed to the JoJo fries. Work was paying for this meal, so I wasn't as concerned about prices, but wasn't expensive for the quality of food. I'm a big Triple-D fan, so Pawley's Front Porch will always have a special place on my list for burgers in Columbia, but this spot was a great option for dinner after a weekday evening work reception in the area. Just off Little Five Points, I wouldn't hesitate recommending this place or returning myself.

Decent burgers and cocktails... Service isn't great but it's ok. Burger was a little on the dry side, and under seasoned. Overall it's an ok burger joint, but a much better bar

Probably much like many cities, but if there is one thing you can find in Columbia that are great it is burgers. (I even have a list of best burgers in Columbia). I've been to Burger Tavern 77 three times, and each time I had a different experience. The first time (when they first opened) they had so many choices of how to make your burger, and apparently every choice I made they were out of what I wanted. Needles to say, I was sketched out. The second time I went they really did a good job. Great fast and friendly service. Black bean burger was good, and I enjoyed sitting outside. We followed this visit quickly with another, and it was blah. So with one bad, one good, and one blah visit, I end up going to one of the places that made my burger list. If friends wanted to dine here, I'd say yes in a heart beat, but I just have my favorites (one of which is a half mile down Devine).

Well, what must I say about this burger joint? Food is good. Service fair. My concern is their very tricky specials. The lunch and happy hour specials abruptly end prior to advertised time. The times are clearly marked on their advertisement literature on the bar. It seems thy stop their specials approx 10-15 min prior to the time noted on the ads. It happened to me to twice. The bartender acted like a typical corporate robot. He blamed the clock and the software program. Scapegoat move. Blame the computer! Lol. Not once did the bartender try to offer anything except a more expensive drink. I politely asked him why the owners just don't fix the issue. To this he had no logical response. Just shrugged his shoulders. So buyers beware. If you go to this place order plenty early or you'll be surprised. I really am not trying to be critical of this establishment but I can't fathom why thy just don't correct this issue.

Visited BT77 this past Wednesday. Ordered the Charleston burger (medium rare) and sweet potato fries. I understand that an inexperienced cook can find "medium rare" difficult but this burger was raw on the bottom - like it cooked for 4 or 5 minutes on one side and 30 seconds on the other side. Fortunately, I was eating it with a knife and fork and discovered the raw meat before eating much. I showed it to server "Anna" who apologized and proceeded to bring me a bill for the entire burger which was impossible to eat. Long story short, I won't go back. She could have easily saved the day by discounting even 25% off the price but didn't. Good job "Anna".

BBQ chicken nachos were amazingggg! While typically I prefer a more thin or smashed patty this thick burger had awesome flavor! Service was nice a the place was clean!

Quaint little burger joint just outside of Five Points, You have your choice on ordering a specialty burger off the menu (as I did) or there is a clipboard on the table for you to "design" your own burger. If all the specialty burgers are like the one I ordered, be prepared for a big burger. I almost had to use silverware to eat my burger. And liked the tin my fries came in - almost felt like I was eating at an English Pub. Sure beats some of the other specialty burger places out there. Service was fast - but restaurant was not too crowded when we went. Could be more crowded on weekends / anytime a major sporting event is on/ Thursday nights are also (free) bingo nights (starting at 8) - hence the reason me and my friends went there last night. There are five rounds of bingo (and various forms of bingo played each round), where you can win anything for gift certificates to come back to Burger Tavern to other prizes for locales around the city. Another patron had mentioned to one of my friends last night that the bingo caller we had was not the typical caller. Mind you, that there are three "boards" per sheet that you are given. My one friend had an idea to play more than one sheet during a round to increase our chances of winning. When we got to the fourth round, we needed more sheets. The bingo caller came to our table then to distribute more sheets at our table, as we should have only played one sheet at a time.

It's a noisy burger place. The food is delicious but not healthy - their chicken burgers are marinated in Coca Cola. Coca Cola!!

I was here with my G/F earlier today for lunch and we ordered a stuffed bleu burger to share along with a side salad of which we also shared. We specifically said to cook the burger medium to medium well. When the food came and we started eating we both noticed that it was closer to rare or raw. When the waitress came and we showed her what the problem was he response was, "What do you want me to do about it?" Which to both of us came across as somewhat rude. Instead of offering to adjust the total bill by taking a few dollars off she kept it as is. The place was practically empty and there was like 2 wait staff there and 1 cook so it isn't like they were so busy that they couldn't get our order right the first time. Both of us could have gotten sick from this. A lot has to change on the service and the way the food is cooked for me and my G/F for that matter to feel safe having a meal here again in the future.

I have two kids.....7 and 2. Going to Chick-fil-a is our normal speed. Burger 77 was a great break from the norm. I had a chicken burger with goat cheese. 7yr old had cheeseburger sliders. 2yr old ate the pretzel and made a mess. Wifey ate a monster burger with onion rings, smoked cheddar, onion rings and BBQ sauce. She stuffed the whole thing in there. Beer......lots of beer. Highly recommended for the family.

My friend and I grabbed lunch at tavern 77 (6/2014). Pros: fries , perfectly cooked nice and crisp and not greasy. Tavern sauce, awesome. I had the classic burger cooked med and my friend had the Memphis cooked medium rare. CONS: They both came med well, why even ask if your just going to cook them all the same . Still good but slightly dry. Last issue was our wait for our food order, it was not overly busy, there was no need for the long wait (25 mins). Lastly our server Adrian was not friendly at all, I honestly asked my friend if it seemed as if she was hated us, she agreed. Now to round this out with a pro : I enjoyed the country music that plays throughout.

It's been quite a while since I've built my own burger...so I'll stick to my last trip here for review sake. The nachos and a drink. Last place before calling it a night...be advised. The nachos were great...I almost ordered a second serving. I ordered a goofy drink cocktail...yea...I know...shut up! It was a root beer vodka with Kahlua in a pint of Guinness. I love root beer, love coffee, love Guinness! The concept was great...but I would have swapped the vodka with Root 100 and changed the Kahlua to Baileys. Yes, I could just order a root beer float if that's what I wanted...but it sounds better with booze if you ask me...and since this is a review...you are asking me. So the drink they made...not so awesome. The service here was attentive and the prices weren't bad at all. I would come back again. Also...to keep things in perspective...we were staying across the street in the Whitney hotel...so there was a convenience factor.

I give this place 4 stars just because I can get a good vegan meal at a burger joint/neighborhood bar, which is rare. It's also a really good veggie burger. The only negative really is that I find them a little pricey. The beer is way overpriced and the burgers are kind of high. We try to compensate for that by going only on BOGO Mondays. But, it's convenient, delicious and I can easily save half of the sandwich for lunch the next day because it's so large.

As you take Devine Street toward Five Points, something magical happens: a transition in the urban landscape. Chic shops and trendy eateries on particular spots of Devine make it an ideal part of town to seek new dining favorites because they represent Columbia's tucked-away treasures, a part of the city embodying an almost old-world vibe. Amidst the tastefully-painted businesses with soft yellow twinkle lights showcasing the window displays, appealing little bars and bistros quietly solicit your business. Drizzly afternoons induce cravings of the meat-and-potatoes variety, and my first Burger Tavern 77 experience delivered all that it promised from the sensational smoky scents beckoning me before I even entered the door(....) Really can't give a review. We waited an hour for burgers that never came. As a place that specializes in burgers there really is not an excuse. The waiter seemed nice enough though.

It was an awesome place to chill out and play some trivia (although it didn't seem very popular). The burger was off the hook, but a little bit of confusion in the kitchen left our experienced a little sour. If you're patient with a mistake or three, check it out. The food was fantastic and well worth it!

I love the concept of building your own burger. I really enjoyed customizing mine and the blue cheese BBQ sauce is amazing. The bun was slightly dry, but other than that no complaints. Good tomato and cucumber salad, and the fries weren't bad.

Really like this place: very good food. You can order a burger off the menu or custom-make your own. Fries are great, they've got a good variety of beer. Our favorite thing about this place, in addition to good food, is that they have outdoor seating and allow us to bring our dog and sit outside. Wait staff is always friendly to him and bring him a water bowl!

4 1/2 stars!!!! Was planning on going to Pawley's Front Porch for a burger but they were really busy so we decided to try this places. Hands down SOOOO much better. The burgers were juicy, thick, & tasty!!! The Charleston burger was delish!! Great beer selection & the menu suggests beers that pair well with your meal. Quick service & GREAT fried pickles too!! The atmosphere is great also better then Pawley's!! Will definitely return soon!!!

  • Martin V.

This place is pretty good for burgers. They have about 8-10 burgers as well as a 'build your own' option in case you want to get weird with it. Their fries are really good I thought, they're like thin and crispy, not soaked in grease and not too heavy. Their service is generally pretty good and they have both outdoor and indoor seating, though I wouldn't recommend coming here with more than say, six people at a time. Before I continue, let me just say this is a good burger joint. It's nothing amazing, but my burgers have always been very good. What keeps this place from receiving a higher rating in my eyes is that Pawley's Front Porch is right down the street. I think that their burger selections are more original, better prepared, and I just like the vibe there more. To me 77 seems like a more family oriented place, which works for people with kids and whatnot, though I still see plenty of little ones at Pawley's. The only other issue I have is with the bartending. The past few times I've been here, they really had the bar in poor shape. I'm definitely a 'beer and a burger' guy, and poor drink quality = less tasty. They don't do a good job of keeping their draft lines clean, and I don't think they sell enough beer to keep the kegs from going stale / losing carbonation, so I would recommend getting a bottle vs. draft, unless flat beer is your thing, then go for it. Additionally, my wife ordered a bloody mary once and when she tasted it, it was disgusting. Why? Because they ran out of Zing Zang or whatever they use, and so they tried improvising with KETCHUP AND MAYO. Why that would be considered a good idea when mixed with vodka is beyond me. What got me about that was they didn't ask if she would like something else, got offended when she asked for a beer instead, and still tried sticking me with the drink cost. No way, and not good customer service. TL:DR - Decent burgers, nothing fancy, bartender isn't great, get a bottle of beer or a coke and avoid mixed drinks.

Good burgers, probably the best burgers I've had in town. Unfortunately that's not saying much because burgers in Columbia somehow suck. Friendly staff, convenient location. Prices are something like $15/person including a beer.

New. Hip. Trendy. What's not to love? The burgers are amazing. Haven't had a bad one yet. Beer selection is good for about anywhere but ColaSC, as everywhere worth going to has a solid selection. Don't sit at the high tops on the bar side. They didn't exactly get table and stool height correct and sitting there can be awkward. Sevice has been consistently bland. Not bad, but not memorable.

I went here today for the first time and was very pleasantly surprised because I am often let down when I try a new place to eat. I have been a huge fan of five guys burgers for a while but Burger Tavern is my new favorite place. The fries are the best I have ever had and even though my burger was plenty big enough I almost ordered another because it was cooked to perfection as well as seasoned accordingly. I look forward to going back very soon.

A great place to have an excellent burger, probably one of the best in Columbia. Fun atmosphere with a decent beer selection. Superb onion rings; crisp, good batter and a tasty sauce. We had the Santa Fe, Pub 77, and Pimento Cheese burger (name escapes me)--all were exceptional! I agree with the previous comment about putting ketchup on the table, but this is a minor beef (pun intended) in an otherwise great dining experience. We really enjoyed our meal and will go back for more soon. Food was 5 stars, service was 5 stars (would not have guessed they have only been open a few weeks--well trained and attentive), beer selection 4 stars. Pawley's better watch out, there is solid competition down the street.

First visit here was a good experience. But the second visit was a real disapointment and not at all worth the money. The 3 pretzels for $6 were microwaved and were tough and chewy. They were placed on a wilted bed of greens that had some pieces which were black and slimy and deteriorated around the edges. Terrible presentation! Did not finish. A strawberry salad (The PGS 77) only had 1 1/2 strawberries! Yes One and one-half! And for a price of $10! ANd huge it was not as we had been told. I did like the Southern hamburger and the sweet potato fries. But when the failures were brought to the attention of the waitress/waiter I was told it was not a good day to come because the chef was really tired, the kitchen manager (?) was out that day, and the fresh food came in on Tuesday so that would be a better day to come. I'm afraid not.

Yummmy! (I don't eat red meat but!) their chicken sandwiches are fantastic. It's so neat that you can create your own kind of like which wich sandwiches and then name it. I love this since I'm a picky eater and don't like all the toppings that are already in each burger/sandwich. Great service as well!

The service was very prompt and super friendly and I believe the "Charleston" to be the tastiest burger they offer. Their fried pickles and fries were great , but onion rings fell short.

Ok since we ha have had crapy luck with the wait staff, they or friendly but damn they are so slow. My wife and I got there at 6:30 we didn't leave till a little after 8:00pm I did increase the rating to 4 star just because the food is so good. Very good please to eat and you must try their dipping sauce.

This place has buy one get one free burger night on Monday after 4PM I just found out. They also have some pretty decent appetizers and drink specials especially if you like bud light and rolling rock during happy hour. Great place on Devine St. That free parking and outdoor seating.

Visiting from out of town. While I expected to pay plenty for a gourmet burger what I didn't expect was that it would be average. I had the Charleston and Sweet Potato Cinnamon Fries. While they were both tasty, it wasn't fantastic. The Burger was fine and the fries were not crisp. It really seemed like the staff did not care. They were pleasant but they disappeared for a time when it wasn't busy and left me waiting to pay by bill. Also the tables were left dirty. It has plenty of potential but I won't be back.

Tried this place again and it was 10,000 times better than before. Ordered food to-go and it's the best lunch choice I've made in weeks. I got a Charleston burger (pimento cheese + pecan bacon) cooked medium and an order of cinnamon sugar sweet potato waffle fries. Cost about $12.50 but totally worth it. Huge burger and lots of fries - it'll be hard to convince myself not to order this every time I come by from here on out.

two burgers with fries a sweet tea and a microbrew beer will run you in the $30 range. We were in town and we decided we had to come back here. I am always a little anxious going back to a place for food a second time when the food the first time was so good. The service is slow and as the mantra goes if the service is slow and the wait is long (from ordering to getting the burger was about 30 minutes) the food better be darn excellent to make up for it. Yeah it was. We ordered the burgers as rare as the could make them and they didn't disappoint. We both got the blue cheese burgers with all the fixings and man just as good as I remembered. Huge burgers, takes 2 hands to hold, juice dripping down your hands great. I don't know if they mix the blue cheese in with the meat or what but every bite you get the blue cheese punch. I got the fries and they give you a ton of them. the only knock is I wish they would put ketchup at the tables instead of giving it in a small cup, just isn't enough for that much of a portion of fries.

I wish there was a way to leave less than one star. I never even got served! I walked in and was refused service stating their computer was down. But it wasn't stopping them from serving the several other tables that were already seated. I guess a pen and piece of paper was just to much to service one guy!

I wish I could give this place three and a half stars. We started off with the fried pickles an I wasn't impressed. They were seasoned well but weren't very crispy, overall nothing special. My burger (the Charleston) had pimento cheese and bacon and was cooked really well, definitely medium like I requested. I was really disappointed in the sweet potato waffle fries though, they weren't crispy and weren't seasoned. Great beer selection, lots of NC/SC choices which I appreciate. Overall a solid choice, but not a favorite.

Okay, this place has huge burgers, roughly half a pound of pure USDA Prime American Beef grilled to perfection! Both times I've been here I've gotten the The Memphis, basically a BBQ bacon cheese burger with their bourbon sauce. This burger is DELICIOUS! And for only $10, not a bad deal. And their fries...or as they call them...JoJo Fries. Out of this world! The breading somewhat is like Arby's curly fries. Service is really great also, our waitress bought out samples of the sauce for us to try. Give it a shoot!

The burger here is okay. The first bite is delicious but after that the meat kind of has an odd taste to it so the burger isn't that enjoyable. The fries were very good and crunchy though, but the onion rings were awful. The onion rings were the worst I've ever had, they just tasted like garbage. I wouldn't return here.

A nice place for a burger and beer. Good selection, some healthy options, chicken and black bean burgers available. Fries are good too, and I heard the blue cheese coleslaw was very tasty as well Nice bar area, with a few TVs, but wasn't very loud. I will go back.

Great staff that remember you - good beer selection with local craft brews and some good daily deals, particularly BOGO Mondays. Definitely a great place in Columbia if you live near Shandon or Old Shandon. Try the mini burger sliders on the bar/happy hour menu. They're great!

The food itself was actually really good. My issue was that there was a GIGANTIC cockroach that ran across the wall right next to our table and they barely did anything about it. They just looked at us wide eyed like they did not know what to do. They didn't even offer to move or comp us. We left within 5 minutes because we were so grossed out. Apparently it isn't the only time this has happened, because a friend of mine went here on a different occasion and the exact same thing happened to him and they did nothing about it. DISGUSTING.

Not sure why this place isn't at least 4 stars. I've been a few times now and the service and food have always been great! It is a little pricey, but we go on Mondays and its BOGO! Now that's a deal! **since my review I see it has jumped to 4 stars... GREAT!

I wrote a review a couple years back, the food was bland, the service was great but the food is kind of the reason we go. We took a chance, it'd been a while and things change...boy, did it. Lots of flavor and creativity were brought to the table. I've tried now about four different specialty burgers now and have not been disappointed. I would say the blue cheese stuffed one to be my current reigning favorite. Also, whoever said "yay" on the fried pickles, you were right. You guys really turned it around. Staff is still awesome, happy hour seems to be hopping (not usually why I do) and I will definitely be coming back

To be completely honest, we came here at the end of the 5-points St. Patty's so my recollection may be a bit foggy ;-) We sat outside and started by ordering a bucket of beers and waters. My husband had been snacking throughout the day, so he just ordered the Pub Pretzels while I got the Charleston burger. Holy cow - you had me at pimento cheese and bacon! The burger was really tasty, but for some reason I found the pretzels more intriguing half way through. Luckily my husband was jealous of my burger and happily switched with me. The beer cheese - I wish I knew how to describe - was incredible! I'm looking forward to going back and trying again when I'm a little more sober.

After reading some of the other reviews I couldn't help but thinking...am I sure I went to the same Burger 77 as these people? My experience was less than stellar. I think this may even be my first 1-star. Surprisingly, this place isn't a chain but it sure feels like one. The decor is cliche and unoriginal with antique license plates on the walls. They do have a decent beer selection but I was here early on a Sunday looking for a burger. I was so excited when I saw pub pretzels and beer cheese on the menu. Elated even. I was imagining a large NY-style pretzel and gooey rich beer cheese. Nope. Not even a little bit. It was 3 out of a frozen bag and deep-fried identical greasy pretzels and a side of NACHO CHEESE. I repeat, NACHO CHEESE. Like the kind you push the button and comes out of a machine. What a disgrace. I ordered The "Stuffed" Bleu and supposedly "comes magically stuffed with Blue Cheese & Hormel Bacon Bits, topped with a fried green tomato & OUR 77 Sauce on the side." These are direct quotes from the menu. Server didn't mention different bun options and I had to ask. The burger was not stuffed, and there were no bacon bits. Regarding the magical stuffing, I mean it's fine if they're on top, but don't lie on your menu. The fried green tomato was not ripe and the burger tasted like a frozen bubba burger. Despite that, it wasn't terrible, but not what they claim. How can places just be so downright misleading? Anyways, this was not worth the time, money, or calories. Pawley's is a much better experience all around.

Burger Tavern has the best burgers in town!!! This was a great find from a friend at work. We were stuffed when we left this place. The food and atmosphere was the best ever. Presentation of the food was Excellent. A host of items on the menu, offering something for the whole family. The shop is both clean and tidy, having plenty seating. The hostess/ waitress was attentive at all times. Staff members there greeted us in/ out when we left. The food was more than filling, loved all the dishes thus far. I know I'll certainly be returning soon and would recommend this facility. My husband and I loved this place!!!

The only problem with this place is the service. I've noticed this brought up in other reviews and I would definitely agree. Other than that, the food was pretty spot on! Let me set the scene for you- Saturday afternoon and it's almost 3pm. There was us (a party of 8), probably 4 other tables with small parties (with no more than 4 people per table), and at least 5 other staff/waiters/waitresses. Our waitress comes out while our orders slowly trickle out and says, "Sorry guys. It's so slammed back there in the kitchen!" Ummm.... How is that possible?? When it was time to pay, we held up the check with the credit card. We were passed multiple times by different waitresses and it took almost 10 minutes for someone to take our payment. Just not cool. Other than that, what's good: - Good portion sizes at decent prices. - Yummy fries! A good burger must always be accompanied with well seasoned and tasty fries. - Good variety on their menu. - Vegetarian friendly! I know, I sound a bit weird, right? But there are times when I simply can't stomach a loaded pub burger and want something lighter. This is especially true when I've been eating a lot of meat, which tends to happen a lot in the south! I had their Long Beach burger, which is a vegetarian burger of black beans, rice, and corn. The patty was slightly bland and could've been seasoned better. But with the sauce and condiments on the burger, it was delish. I also ordered their side of veggie sticks and dip. I was so happy to discover there was an assortment of carrot sticks, celery, and cucumber with what I believe is a cucumber dip. Super delish! Final Answer Although I really like the food, I'm uncertain whether it's worth putting up with bad service. I mean, we came during a slow time. I am worried what their service is like when they are full and have a full wait staff. Maybe it would be easier to order take away.

So good! I perfer this over Pawleys which is basically their biggest competition. I like the way its set up with different sections. They have a really cool beer can wall display and a nice big bar area. Love bringing my boyfriend here when he visits! Burgers are good! I wouldnt say theyre my favorite burgers Ever though so I give it a 4.
